Rasheer Fleming talks Summer League debut | Phoenix Suns Media Availability
Yeah. Any first game jitters? I know you’re probably really eager to get out there. Yeah, for sure. That’s I got jitters before a lot of games, but there’s nothing wrong with it. It gives me energy and it, uh, helps me just feel better in the game. And just I know you got a glimpse of the speed of just an NBA game, although it’s, you know, not quite the league, it’s the summer league, but, uh, just what do you think the adjustment is going to be for you going from the college pace to the NBA pace? Um, really just it is a way way faster pace for sure. Um I think for me like the thing I need to work on most is not even work on most just like finishing above the rim dunking the ball cuz if I try to lay it up at this level it’s getting blocked. Um if I’m not creative enough or don’t got enough space but uh outside of that just just keep pushing myself on the floor hard doing doing all those things. I was got a couple more for you. I think your first bucket was the corner three when they helped out that strongside corner. I mean you shot really well last year in college. Do you still think that defenses are going to play that way until you kind of prove it? I’m not sure, but I’m going to keep shooting. Keep shooting. Yeah. And the last thing I got for you is um you know, Ryan and Oso looked like they were really coaching you up in the huddles and timeouts. Just what what have they meant to you so far in your early journeys, these voices? Yeah, they’re they’re such young guys, but great leaders. Um they really it helps it helps for me cuz like they got to see everything last year and then they’re just passing things down to me. Like it’s just like my big brothers kind of. So, it’s good to have them guys on the team and uh helping helping around with things. Thanks for appreciate you. Uh your first time playing in the Suns jersey. How’d it feel going out there? Uh just for the first time. It was dope. I ain’t going to lie. It was it was great. Like I said, I was a little nervous, but that didn’t like I was still excited. Like I was super excited to go out there and move. Um and yeah, I heard you had some family in the stands. How did that feel to have some supporting? Feel like I was back home. Um it was good to hear them after I made that shot. Um yeah, it’s good to have my family around. I appreciate it. Did anything feel different from kind of this level to to previous levels in college? The pace the pace was faster for sure. Um spacing was the spacing was uh a lot more spacing in the league. Uh super fast pace. NBA is fastpaced. Um last one I got for you. Just talk about the team and how you felt like being supported by everybody on the team and especially being on the court for the first time. So yeah, I think everybody’s super supportive. We all come together even like we just lost this game but um we all come together uh through winning and losing like this nothing changes we going to stay the same. Uh so we have pretty high character guys and I’m glad I’m here. Perfect. Thanks. Appreciate it.
