So, ever really since acquiring Anthony Simons from the Portland Trailblazers a couple weeks ago now in the Drew Holiday trade, there’s been a lot of speculation about his future in Boston. Like, could there be a chance that he is dealt prior to the season? Absolutely. Like, he’s only on the last year of his deal. He’s in the prime of his career, just I think 26 or 27 years old if I’m not mistaken. and the Celtics might want to kind of punt on this season and get rid of all the contracts they can clear some cap space and then kind of go for it once again when Tatum comes back from his injury in 2026 27. So that’s why to me Anthony Simons being on the trade market doesn’t make a lot of uh isn’t really that much of a surprise I should say in my personal opinion and if he was made available on the trade market I actually do think the Bulls make quite a bit of sense like first and foremost they’d be betting on a player who’s still relatively young and in the prime of his career. So I kind of like other players on this roster like Kobe White, Josh Giddy, etc. If they want to get a little bit younger, perhaps go that direction with this uh with this roster. I think trading for Anthony Simons makes a ton of sense. Now, in this situation, I’m sure the Celtics would like to get back as much as they can. And this is honestly not a terrible package. They get a little bit more depth and some shooting with Kevin Herder. Uh they get Design Mo as well. And truthfully speaking, those are expiring deals. You can get rid of those guys after the season if it doesn’t work out. And you can kind of fast forward that way. So, I’m not really too sure why the Celtics would do this. Like, if I’m trading away Anthony Simons, I’d want to get back some first round draft capital in return, preferably speaking. Could there be a world where maybe they go after someone like Nicole Vuvich? I guess only time will tell. Uh but truthfully speaking, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with the Bulls. You’re betting on a 26-year-old uh you know, having a good season in a contract here. And if it works out for them, great. If it doesn’t, you can let them walk. And truthfully speaking, you’re not giving up that much in return for them in my opinion. So, as I mentioned before, I think the winner of this deal is the Chicago Bulls. But as always, leave your thoughts.
