NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Orlando Magic | July 16, 2025 | Warriors vs Magic | 2K
[Applause] at center. Next 10 number 34 [Music] [Applause] number four shooting standing number three2. 26. Hi everyone, greetings from 2K Sports. Get ready for some NBA action. Kevin Harland here and I’m joined by Greg Anthony and Clark Kellogg with D. You know Clark, when you take a look at how these teams play, is it? I certainly think so. Um, partner, I mean, both teams are extremely disciplined. They’re not really interested in going up and down in a windshield wiper fashion. They value taking care of the ball and playing in the half court. And now the Golden State Warriors starters in the back court. We’ll see Curry and PJsky. Jimmy Butler is out there with Draymond Green. And it’s healed in at the three, the small forward. And talking about Buddy Heield, he is someone you can definitely count on. He can score from any place. Yeah, he’s got great range and his durability is just as impressive as his stroke. You know, most seasons, Buddy Hill plays in 80 or more games, and that is very much a rarity these days. And he’s also a 40% career shooter from three. So he can space the floor and you know he’s going to be on the floor whenever it’s game time. Free throw drops for Heel. Everybody knows about how Buddy Heield is an incredible three-point threat. But what I love here’s a guy with a bunch of years playing 80 or more games. Love that durability. He’s ready to go whenever they call his name. [Applause] Both free throws good from Heel. And Greg, the way Orlando ended last season, that’s really fueled their fire for this year. Yeah, I mean, a tough loss to Cleveland in game seven of the opening round. But it it’s hard to win in this league without first incurring some battle scars. And that one is good from Suggs. Well, that’s just the toughness basket by Suggs right there. Remember now, this young man was an all state football player in high school. Back to Curry. Healed left side. Lock at six. Golden State needs to get off a shot. And that one’s good. Green. I don’t think you can sleep on Butler’s passing ability now. I mean, he’s quite good at knifing the rock through the defense on time and on target, especially in these screen and rolls. Suggs against Curry. And it’s Suggs missing. And you can see the defenders afraid to kind of get in his way a lot of times when he’s on his way to the basket. But on that one, they were there. And he missed that one. But I’ve seen him drill shots from that distance in warm-ups. Well, that looked to me, guys, like a heat check and was maybe a step out of his range. Carter sets the pick for Vagner. Back to Carter. Throws it down as the official calls the foul. It may be a three-point play and it goes on Draymond Green. Simply overpowers defenders when met with contact. Wendell Carter Jr.’s tough as they come. the Magic shooting their first foul shot of the night and and their free throw percentage as a unit last year 76% right around the middle of the road and you know there was plenty of blame to go around for that I mean it wasn’t just one or two guys I mean for the most part the entire team struggled and like a number of centers in today’s NBA. Wendell Carter Jr. continues Clark to hone his three-point shooting. Boy, I tell you what, Kevin, it’s almost mandatory necessary for big guys nowadays to be able to knock down not only the mid-range jumper, but the three-point shot. Give credit to Carter Jr. for seeing this growing trend and then working to put it into his toolkit. The Warriors shooting their third and fourth free throw shots of the night. shooting two. [Applause] First free throw is good. When it comes to players who like having fun, Greg, Jimmy Butler has to be way up there. Kevin, did you see his media picture for the 2324 season? He looked like he belonged in an emo band with that hairstyle. Jimmy is definitely one of those guys that likes to troll and have fun. Good on both. Making it look effortless. Send this guy to the stripe. He’s going to cash in more than not. A moment now to hear from our sideline reporter, Hall of Famer David Ald. David, I briefly spoke with Jamal Mosley. Now, we talked about facing off against Jimmy Butler, and the coach said, “You have to compete. No one in the league plays harder than Jimmy. He’s a guy who gives his all on both ends, so you can’t take one possession off. Jimmy Butler truly a two-way star, guys. Thank you, David. Green with the screen on Vancero. The shot. It’s hauled in by the Magic. You’re not going to see that very often. Plenty of space, but he just, let’s face it, he whiffs on that one. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Her with it. Back to Bane and he lobbs it up and Suggs throws it down. Good example of nice timing that time from Jaylen Suggs. Very impressive. Pass to Pajki. Three-pointer. Heel hits the three-point bomb. He’s got five now. And the lack of effort to fight over the screen there makes that an easy shot. Well, I’m going to credit the screen. I mean, that’s a good strong pick. He lays there [Applause] outside. Bane inside. Vagner outside. His three-pointer’s off the mark. And you know, the defense to me looked like they were okay to let him prove he could make that shot. They kick it out to Green. Pass to Pajki. Good. But it is Green picking up the assist. Draymond Green so smart as a player. He’ll exploit those gaps in the defense. The Magic trail by five. Outside. Bane. Carter sets the pick for Bane. [Applause] Fires the three. Score of the basket. Nice shot after missing his first attempt. And an eye for an eye. Both teams working to stretch the floor. Nothing like answering back. One team gets three, you fire three of your own. Boom. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He wants to check in with his team and regroup. Show us your best. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Thank you. [Applause] So, it’s the Warriors now. Back to Hee. Good. And it’s Green picking up the assist. Heels’s got seven. A guy like Buddy out hustles other players on the floor. He He gets inside and there he finishes strong. Back to Vagner. Suggs passes to Vagner. Pass to Carter. Shot clock at five. The Magic need to get a shot off here. Ban Carol. That’s good. And this is the type of go-to score this team wants. Bonero to be. They love his confidence. Curry looking around over Suggs. Curry can’t get it to go. The right thing there to stay that tight on him and really try to keep him out of his comfort zone. And then Carter with the dunk. And we’ve seen several lead changes tonight. Neither team giving an inch. Yeah. And the lead has changed hands and it just hasn’t stayed in those hands very long when it’s changed. Back and forth we go. Pass to heal and he drives in. Score it. His third straight basket in three tries because you have to respect that outside shot. The the drive is often there for heel. Here’s Ban Carol. Back to Suggs. Lee Baz was put in just the right spot. He’s got six. Guys, what a tight start to the game this has been. And it’s still in the first half. This could be a wild one. [Applause] Curry with it. Picked up by Bancer outside. Curry over Bango again. Golden State. Yeah. Bucket by bucket, the legend of Steph Curry continues to grow. Carter outside to the middle. Wants to get it to Bane and does. Shoots over Pompki and Bane the bucket on the assist by Carter. Bane’s got five points so far. Seems to have a knack for hitting guys in their spots. His vision excellent. Break. Since reaching five consecutive NBA Finals, the Warriors have missed the playoffs three of the past five years. And to be fair, they did go 46 and 36 last season. They were 10 games over 500 last year. So they weren’t a bad team, but Golden State doesn’t just expect to be in the playin. They want to be a contender. The Magic have gotten eight of their 13 shots to find the bottom of the bucket. Vagner passes to Ban Carroll. Lets it fly. Jimmy Butler with the rebound. And being that close to the hoop, I thought he had enough room to finish that one. Outside Curry beyond the arc. It’s hauled in by the magic. Pass to Suggs. Right side. Bane. Bang. Carol outside. The put back controls the rebound and puts it back up and in. And the Magic lead by three. Phenomenal positioning on the glass. Carter Jr. putting on his hard hat right there. Not afraid to get those hands dirty. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. He wants to regroup and go over the strategy. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Orlando making some changes. Jonathan Isaac comes in for Vagna and Blacks subbed in for Jaylen Sugs. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. Warriors trail by three. [Applause] Ring shot on the way. Not enough on that one as it misses. The shot’s there for him and he’s got to take it. I I don’t care if he doesn’t convert. That’s a shot he has to continue to take to the inside. Here’s Green. His shot is good, making him a perfect two for two from the floor. And one thing about Draymond, he almost invites contact. And with an update from the sidelines, let’s check in with David Aldridge. Hey Kevin, last season the Magic extended coach Demal Mosley’s contract through 2028. He said, “It’s not about me. I just want each one of these guys to reach their full potential. This game has been good to all of us. I want to be part of maximizing how great they can be on and off the court.” Kevin. All right, David. Thank you. Offensive rebound. Ban Carol against Heield. Pass to Moody. Six on the shot clock. Shoots the three. Great D that time from Bane. Magic leading by three. Here’s Van Caro. He has five. Count the bucket. And he’s got a free throw coming up as well. And guys, that strength will serve Vancaro really well in the league and and we’re starting to see signs of it already. And guys, what do you think about the offensive approach so far that we’ve seen for Orlando? How about the ball movement so far? I mean, the unselfishness, everyone here just playing for one another and that can be infectious. Something else they’re doing well tonight, guys, lots of points in the paint. Something to continue to keep our eye on. Clark, I know you’d agree Paulo Vancero has certainly lived up to the hype being a number one overall pick. Yeah, you know, I loved him when he was in college. Loved his size, his athleticism, his IQ, his tenacity. I mean, I don’t think there’s anything on the floor that he can’t do. I would not call Butler a laser, but he knows when he needs to keep the defense honest, and he’ll take and make his share of those three-point shots. Pass to black. Now here’s Bane. Defended by Moody. And Carol passes to Vagner. [Applause] Now here’s Moody. Defense is right there. Here’s Post. Jackson Davis with it. Here’s Richard and Bane pulls it down. Orlando leading by three. Pass to Black. Wagner outside. Now here’s Bane. [Applause] Unloads from 13. That one misses and not allowing the shooter even an inch of breathing room on that one. And guys, that’s exactly the kind of high impact defense they want to see out of him. A nice shot by Moody. Butler, a team first guy willing to dish that rock all the time. Orlando’s gotten just two of six to fall from three-point range so far in the first. Black kicks to Vagner down low and it’s Vagner missing. Well, he’s much better than that. Really no excuse for missing that lay in. Uses the glass to finish the layup. He has seven. Easy to see why Butler gets so much respect for his competitiveness. I mean, he thrives at finishing through contact. [Applause] There’s 38 seconds left in the first quarter. Some nice ball movement by the Magic. Just five on the clock. They need this one. They get it again. Here’s Vagner. Persistence pays off as they finally hit a shot and the Magic lead by one. The Warriors shooting well right out of the gates here at around 50%. [Applause] right here. And he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. This is his second trip to the line in this one. [Applause] Shooting two. [Applause] The first free throw is good. [Applause] Second free throw. No good. And you can see that even though he ties the game up, disappointed he couldn’t give him the lead. It’s all tied in Orlando. And we’ll be back with you for the start of the second quarter when we return. [Applause] And this has been a fairly close game through the first quarter. And we’ll see what happens here in the second. And from what we’ve seen from Orlando, what do you guys see? Well, in that first quarter, they they were intent on just pounding the ball down low. Yeah. And it’s worked. They’ve got a clear edge and points in the paint. Now we’ll see if they go with a more balanced attack or just keep on pounding it inside. And here’s Curry who brings it up for Golden State. Howard is out there with Isaac. Then there’s Black. Then there’s Desmond Bane. And it’s Vagner in at the center filling out the middle. That’s the group starting the second quarter for the Magic. Curry’s got such a great feel and understanding of the game. I mean, he can make a lot happen in the pick and roll. lacked the pass to Bane. He’s looking for Isaac and finds him. Greg, every year injuries are a huge factor in shaping the title race. And I’m guessing that teams should probably put more of a premium on durability. What do you think? Well, Kevin, I think all GMs take that into account. A team wants to be confident it’ll have a stable roster over the course of a long season. [Applause] That’s good from Isaac. Well, this guy packs a nice skill set. Jonathan Isaac, a slender big man who has nice range and is a superb defender already. Wagner’s checked in for Orlando. Tyus Jones comes in for Bane. [Applause] on the miss. That one misses. So he goes one for two. Here’s Santos. He’s covered by Isaac. As to Curry, the three ball. It’s hauled in by the Magic. Black dishes to Jones. Wagner outside. Back to Jones. Makes it off the glass. Jones has got his first two points of the night. Well, guys, this first half has been about as tightly contested as you could hope for. There have been a lot of lead changes. My goodness. Pass to post outside. Curry [Applause] clock at two. 16 ft away. Rebounded by Isaac. Orlando leading. It’s Black in the corner on the wing. Joneser as Reon Curry. [Applause] Jones looking for an opening. [Applause] And he hits it just before the shot clock expires. Jones has got his second bucket of the night. Really, really good at recognizing the gaps and getting the ball to the rim. They set the screen. Pass to post. Jackson Davis with it. Isaac on him. The three ball from Curry off a pass. Steph Curry. That one is always going in or almost always going in. [Applause] Jones against Curry. [Applause] Jones kicks to Vagner. [Applause] Pass to Isaac. Jones against Curry. That’s tipped. And here is Moody outside. Curry. High arcing shot. Curry gets it to drop over the D. Boy, Curry is just such a fabulous shot maker. Really knows how to adjust his motion for any distance or defense. to the paint. Here’s Isaac and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. And a moment now to quickly take a look at the offensive approach for the Warriors. Well, they haven’t wasted any time getting into a groove from deep, putting up and hitting a healthy amount of three-pointers thus far. Cultivating a lot of assists right now, which is beautiful to see. Love the way they’re working that ball around. [Applause] First one falls for him for the Magic. Baines checked in for Black and it’s Suggs in for Jones. [Applause] [Applause] And both free throws good for Isaac. And so Green will bring it up for the Warriors. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout, looking for a breather. And maybe just one or two things to talk about. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Anthony Black’s checked in for Jonathan Isaac. [Applause] pass to Curry out left to the wing. Golden State moving the ball around. Here’s Pompeki. Rebound by the Magic. Vagner’s got rebound number five here tonight. And Clark, we’re looking at France Vagner here. What makes him so effective? Well, his size and mobility, a rare combination, and how good he is instinctively at the defensive end of the floor. I mean, he can get out and get in a stance and guard guards, and he also can bang inside with big physical guys. And he’s very fluid in his motion. Great agility. Love watching that young fella play. Outside Curry. Here’s Post. Nothing on the board. [Applause] Here’s Vagner and finished off by Vagner. Got to take care of the ball. They’ll punish you if you’re that careless. That’s right. And that’s severe punishment right there. Exactly. I mean, when you’re running neck to neck, those kinds of mistakes tip the scales. Inside, Moody lays it up and in off the pretty assist. And they keep hammering away at him inside, forcing the ball into the paint. Bane passes to Vagner. Suggs in the corner. Vagner with a screen for Suggs. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. And the future Suggs has is certainly promising. An effective combo guard who can really get it going at times. This is his first free throw of the game. [Applause] And he makes the first. And teamwide, they’ve been terrific from the line here. Just one of those nights when the confidence has spread from one player to the next [Applause] and he can’t hit the second. Warriors trail by three. Now here’s Curry. He’s got seven. Green with a screen on Suggs. Curry outside and Green slams it in for throwing himself on the offensive glass and being rewarded for it. That’s the energy that Draymond Green brings. Kicks to Black. [Applause] Curry against Suggs. Out of bounds. Golden State takes possession. Van Carol’s checked in for the Magic. Jimmy Butler, he’s checked in for the Warriors. Buddy Heel comes in for Moses Moody. [Applause] And so Green will bring it up for the Golden State Warriors. Pass to heal. Now Pajki. coming. Shot clock at six. The floater. They get the rebound. Healed against Vagner. Green. The screen. Healed from outside and it’s Orlando with the rebound and close to making the defense pay for the lack coverage that time. And the rejection by Curry. Love seeing the little guy bounce like that. You know, Curry, he doesn’t block a lot of shots, but when he does, it gets his teammates amped up. He talked about a back andforth game. This is the definition. You have to love these kinds of games scoring wise, keeping everybody on their toes. Pass to Suggs. Bagner with a screen for Suggs trying to find Bodner and gets it to him. And those plays can make a difference in a game like this. Well, you know, it’s going to fire up Greg. Everybody on that bench making a statement for sure. I mean, we’ll see if they can maintain that aggressive approach, guys. He with the bucket. You can count on Heel to take shots. He does all he can on the offensive end. Never sees a shot that he doesn’t like. Vagner. A screen on heel. Kicks it out to Vagner. Back to Vagner. A good finish at the rack off the slick feet. Vagner will battle you inside now. He’s not afraid to embrace and even initiate contact. Curry against Suggs. Curry dishes to heel. Green with a screen for heel. Front pass the arc. Rebound by the Magic to the right side. Bango inside covered by Heel. Oh, the defense puts contact on Banero inside, but he just bullies right through it. [Applause] Back to Curry from outside the arc and he’s good on the three ball. Curry’s got 10 points. Pick works well there. Not much resistance from the D. Yeah, that’s not the defense you need. You got to be tougher defensively. [Applause] No good with the layup. The Magic have gone seven of 11 from the field in the second quarter. Vanero kicks to Vagner to the middle and finished off by Vagner. Well, I tell you what, his vertical is awesome. Off the charts. A short center who still makes his presence felt. [Applause] Pass to Pajki. [Applause] Green with a screen for Heel to the inside. And he makes that one. And that’s now eight points for Draymond Green. And that IQ of Green just sizing up defenses and making the right read in that pick and roll. Shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. And really the defense fouling there to prevent the layup. But that’s exactly what you need to do. It is. I mean, no reason to back off and give him the layup. I mean, much better off making him go to the line. [Applause] And the first one, folks, the Magic making a switch here. Carter’s checked in. The Warriors also with a sub. Moody’s checked in for Stephen Curry. [Applause] Both free throws good from Suns. Golden State’s gotten the three-point bug tonight. They’ve taken 15 shots outside the arc. Six of 15. Here’s Green and it’s sent back by Carter. An aggressive defender. Carter Jr. also excels at using those physical advantages he has to turn shots back. Van Carol up top. and Carol. [Applause] This is his third trip to the free throw line. [Applause] Got [Applause] to get it. Let’s get it. Get it. Get it. And the first one at the line is good. A free throw is good from Suggs. Warriors trail by three. Green taking his time here down low. Pajki. Good. Great play by Green to set it up. Green’s got three assists in the game. Suggs passes to Ban Carol. Outside Bane, [Applause] five to shoot. Bounce pass Suggs and Desmond Bane good for three. Baines got five points in the quarter. Boy, good vision that time from Suggs on this play, finding the most ready shooter and fed him nicely. Getting the latest now from our sideline reporter, David Aldridge. David, it’s all yours. Take it away. Kevin France Vagner grew up in Germany, but he says, “One of the reasons that I went to college in the US was to learn a different mentality. The game is played more competitively and talking trash is welcome. I had it in me deep down, but that brought it out more. That combination of styles has helped him to this day.” Kevin, great stuff, Da. Thanks. That’s good. And the Orlando lead is cut back down to four points with the basket from Jimmy Butler. GA when you look at the development of Fran Vagnner, what now is the next step for him? Kevin, for me, it’s the three-point shooting, specifically becoming more efficient out there. And I also think he’s going to have to become a better passer, ball mover. I I got total confidence he’ll get there because the rest of his game is complete. Well, Butler combines strength and aggressiveness with uh a really good basketball IQ. He sees the defender is a little out of position and takes advantage of it. The Warriors shooting their seventh and eighth free throw attempts for the game right here. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first one falls. What I love about Jimmy Butler, there’s a lot to like, but he brings it every night. his consistency and toughness and production. Plays with passion, leads his team well. Love that throwback mentality of his. [Applause] So he gets them both. 46 seconds left in the first half of the game. Wagner against Heielded. [Applause] Agner passes to Ban Carol, makes the bucket. Now he’s got five field goals, five for eight in the game. And great work inside. This is where Ban Carol feast. [Applause] 23 seconds left here in the second. Oh, tough play by Butler. I tell you what, it’s it’s almost like stealing to watch how he plays the game from this seat. Hey yo, right here. Now here’s Suggs. He’s defended by Pachki. [Applause] Ben Carroll left side. Vagner wide open. Oh, and he just knocked down the buzzer, Peter. How about that? Just a perfect finish to the Hab as they tack on another three to their lead. And some good action through the first two quarters as we reach halftime. Orlando out in front. They’re up by five. And now we’ll send it over to David Aldridge who is standing by Courtzside. David, Kevin, thanks. Here with Jimmy Butler. Jimmy, you have come a long way in this league. When you look at your career now versus when you came in, how different is it? Much different. Um, I think on the floor, I’m supposed to do a lot more on both ends of the floor. And, um, off the floor, I think it’s still the same. People recognize my hair. Well, it is a unique style, Chipney. Thanks a lot. Back to you, Kevin. All right, David. Thank you. We’ll be back after halftime for the start of the third quarter. [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Music] And if you’re just joining us, we’ve played through the first half in a game that’s been fairly even so far. We are seeing a tremendous game from Jimmy Butler. The way he was able to finish on the block was incredible there in that first half. Yeah. You know what? I think he’s doing exactly what he has to do. using his body, shaking off contact, and then finishing at the rim. [Applause] And here’s Green. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. So for the Golden State Warriors right now in the back court, we’ll see Curry and Pachki. Jimmy Butler is out there with Buddy Heel. And it’s Green in at the five. Roing the paint. That one’s good. And the Magic lead is cut down now to just three on the basket from Jimmy Butler. Butler has one speed and it’s full throttle on full display. [Applause] Carter with a screen on heel. Loger finds Carter. Free with the block. And so it looks like the Magic will retain possession here. Let’s take a second look at that fantastic block. You can almost feel the mindset he has. I mean, when the game’s this close, he’s going to bring it at that end of the floor. [Applause] Here’s Bane. That one falls coming off Carter’s feet. Carter’s got three assists tonight. Carter Jr. does a nice job there giving it up to his teammate. A solid passer at his position. [Applause] Look at the attack of Butler in the lane. Butler challenges the opposing team everywhere on the court. Never afraid of any situation. He’ll battle you down low. Carter kicks to Ban Carol. Pass to Bane. Bang Carol outside. Six to shoot inside. Here’s Carter and then Carter with the jam. With obvious length and jumping ability, Carter Jr. can get it coined above the rim and make it look easy. Green the pass to Curry. Now Pajki. No good on the triple. Over to the left wing to the paint. deflects the pass. One-on-one fast break. Here’s Green and it’s sent back by Carter. Van Carol looking around. Pay for three. Crane with the rebound. Green’s got rebound number seven for him tonight. [Applause] Ah, Butler hits it with traffic. They didn’t have much of a problem getting the ball into the post that time. A touch over two and a half minutes of basketball played here in the third quarter. Ping Carro a screen on heel. Yep, that one goes. Agner’s got nine points. Pick works well there. Not much resistance from the deep. Yeah, that’s not the defense you need. You got to be tougher defensively. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. Wants to talk some things over. Might be seeing some things to adjust. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] And now we’re three minutes into the third quarter of play. Pass to Curry. Takes a three. Curry laserg guided shot from deep range. This is exactly the kind of unique range that Curry has. I mean, as soon as he crosses half court, you got to get up on him. Suggs passes to Vagner. Tried to answer back, but that three is off the mark. Pass to Pajki. Suggs against Curry for the tie. Another shot. And another shot. Rebound by Paulo Banker. Orlando’s gone 0 of two from deep to start things here in the second half. [Applause] Suggs against Curry. Left side Bane. Shot clock at six and it’s Carter missing. The Warriors trailing and Curry has it in the corner and another three for Golden State. He’s found his rhythm from deep and and you can see the confidence. Yeah, I’d be confident, too. As a matter of fact, I mean, you’re stacking up threes the way he is. I mean, he’s doing all this work from behind the arc. Offensive rebound and it’s Carter missing. Golden State’s gone two of three when they ventured outside the ark in the third quarter. Green score the bucket. He’s made five so far, shooting a very clean five of seven inside. Green can be very aggressive and physical, allowing him to do work scoring the ball. Outside Bane buries the long range jumper. Baines got it all tied up now for the Magic. Defensively, there was a lack of aggressiveness and it really made it easy for him to knock that shot down. Pass to Pajki. And out of bounds as the Magic will gain possession. And right now, let’s watch that terrific swat. And guys, they’ll think twice about attempting that shot again. That was a big time rejection. [Applause] The Magic have gone a somewhat so far. Four of 10 on their shots in the second half so far. Come get it. Come get it. Here’s Vagner. Back to Suggs. Carter sets the pick for Suggs. Count it and he’ll have a chance for a three-point play. They get Stephen Curry. Boy, Jaylen Suggs just playing right through contact. I love his energy and aggressiveness there. All right. Well, a look at how the points have been generated so far. A scoring breakdown for Orlando. Well, you know, for me, when you can convert this many times in the paint, I think that’s a sign that your offense is really in a healthy state. That’s been all night long. And also dominating the offensive boards. That’s been winning them a lot of extra looks at the hoop. Warriors trail by three. [Applause] Green with the ball. He’s got 10 [Applause] to the middle. Here’s Moody and the slam by Moody. Fundamentals, guys, using the one hand slam. Well, he makes the basics look pretty exceptional. I’d suggest that he stay with those basics because we’ve got a tight one here tonight. Wagner kicks to Suggs. Carter with a screen on Curry. Drops in the train. Suggs has got six points in the quarter. So tough trying to slow down Suggs, especially when he gets it going because he’s persistent and relentless. For three. Orlando grabs the miss. Agner’s got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. Suggs passes to Bane. Van Carol draws the double. Suggs. And again, it’s the magic from deep. And as we see Suggs develop his game, you you’ll see more of this Jaylen with the ability to operate off ball. From rookie of the year in 2023 to an all-star Greg in 2024, Paulo Ban Carol. And Kevin, that really says it all, doesn’t it? Few players hit the ground running like Monero has. Becoming an elite competitor people fear almost instantly. Bane no good. And it’s Curry with the ball bringing it up for the Warriors. They trail by seven. [Applause] Here’s Pajki. Guarded by Bane outside Curry. Connects from three-point range. Curry’s got nine points here in the second half. And all of a sudden, that three puts them in striking distance, guys. He’s had that shot working all night. You bet he has. I mean, working overtime. The triple’s been his bread and butter in this ball game. Nothing but butter. Sweet butter. I I love the ball movement there. He put that on a silver platter. Just served him up. He made the only free throw attempt he had earlier in the game. And just 72% from the line a season ago. Not the greatest of numbers, but there are guys who are far worse off when it comes to free throw shooting. Blacks checked in for Orlando. One shot. [Applause] And the biggest reason Banero went first overall, Paulo brings you playmaking ability at 610. He’s got a very rare skill set for that size. Pass to Moody. And the three off target. And the Magic with possession. They’re on a 15 to five run here. Vanero kicks to Vagner. Black the pass to Vagner. Back to Black. Puts up a three and the rebound goes to the Warriors. [Applause] And here is Moody. He’s got six. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. It’s on Paulo Banger. Clever move by Curry taking the foul but still getting the shot on. [Applause] Free throw good by Curry. And many around the league believe Curry doesn’t get enough fouls called in his favor. Uh GA, what do you think? There could be some truth to that. He he gets held and grabbed more than anyone when running off screens, but especially blatant on drives to the rim. [Applause] That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws. And you know, with Curry, what impresses me most is his efficiency. That’s not something we normally see in a high volume jump shoot. Carter outside pass to Vagner. Drives to the hoop and Moody pulls it down. Warriors trail by five. Launches from deep. The long distance three is buried. Curry’s got 24 points. As a defender, it’s got to be a feudal feeling when Curry’s in the zone like this. [Applause] B Carol screen on Curry. Back the pass to Ben Carroll. And up the court come the Warriors on the break. And here we go. The game now all tie 24 points for Jimmy Butler. Guys, he’s one of the main reasons this game is tied up. I mean, he’s done his part to keep them in it. Outside Bane. Pass to Van Carol. [Applause] Carter outside, fires the three, knocks down the three ball. Carter’s got five points now this quarter. You know, when Carter Jr. is hitting this, it opens up everything else. Love seeing him get going from there. And it’s Curry at the elbow. [Applause] three-pointer and Desmond Bane pulls it down. Baines got his fifth rebound in this one. And it’s Van Carol missing. Warriors trail by three. Pass to Curry. [Applause] I got you. And there’s a minute 45 left to play here in the third. The Magic shooting 47% from the field in the third. Vagner outside. Carter sets the pick for Vagner to the inside. Right block shot and Carter with the basket on the assist from Vagner. And now a fivepoint Magic lead. And so Curry will bring it up for the Golden State Warriors. Pass to post. Pajki with it. [Applause] 106 left to play in the third. Six on the shot clock. Some nice passing by Golden State. The shot by Curry. No good. And you could tell he thought that triple was going to fall. It’s Black in the corner. Inside. Here’s Ban Carol and finished off by Banero. Oh, love that. Banero moves so well with and without the ball. Curry finds Moody. Back to Curry. [Applause] 32 seconds left in the third quarter of the game to halt the run. Count the basket. Curry’s got 26 points. So, it’s Orlando now. It’s a five-point game. going. 20 seconds left in the third quarter. Here’s Ben Carol. Out to Carter. Here’s the three. The Warriors pull it in. Here’s Moody. Pass to Pajki. Lets it go with a three. And no good on the last second attempt this time. Jaylen Suds has been leading the charge for the Magic. And of everything he’s doing well, it’s his scoring that you point to first. Already 22 points in this game. And we’ll be right back after this. And let’s go back to a terrific pass that we’re calling tonight our State Farm assist of the game. And I’m glad this was the pick because I love this pass. Such a great dish. That’s what I call court vision. Yeah. And with the accuracy to go along with that vision. I mean, he put the ball in the absolute perfect spot. That’s how you orchestrate it. And I know I speak for all of us when I say I can’t wait to see what kind of finish awaits us here in the fourth quarter. Jonathan Isaac is out there with black. Then there’s Desmond Bane. Then there’s Jaylen Suggs. And it’s Vagner in at the pivot spot manning the middle. So that’s the lineup on the floor for the Magic. And this is a guy who is really comfortable with the ball in his hands. Suggs so dangerous in the pick and roll. Curry with the three at the other end and an eye for an eye. Both teams working to stretch the floor. Nothing like answering back. One team gets three, you fire three of your own. Boom. To the middle. Get there. Get there. And he’s fouled pretty hard on that shot, but he’s got the chance to pick up the points at the line. Got to like the aggressiveness there inside from Isaac. Not afraid to mix it up and go into the defender. [Applause] Shooting two. That free throw no good. [Applause] Push it on the miss. and he sinks the second. Now here’s Moody. [Applause] 60 seconds off the clock here in the fourth. Pass to Jackson Davis at the top of the key. Curry [Applause] and it’s Orlando with the rebound. Suggs has got rebound number five here tonight. Here’s Bane. She gets that one through the hole. Make him now seven of 13 in this game. Warriors trail by eight. Now Moody. We’ve gone about a minute and a half into the fourth quarter. Suggs against Curry over Suggs. Curry shot is off. Well, they’ll be happy with that look even though it didn’t fall. You know what? That’s a confidence shaker for him though. I mean, that’s a shot he expects to make every time. The Warriors have gone one of three from the field to start the fourth quarter. Santos, the pass to Curry over Suns. Curry can’t get it to go. Orlando leading by eight. Bane with it. Pass to Suggs. Fagner. A screen on Curry. Goes up on the wing. And that one is good from Suggs. Suggs has got five points now this quarter. Suggs showing you right there. He’s not just a facilitator. Here’s Santos. Back to Curry. There’s the screen. That three off the mark. Nothing’s going his way since the horn. I mean, looks like he used up all his makes in the last quarter. Isaac kicks to SS. Back to Isaac over Moody. The rebound by Post. Post has got six rebounds here tonight. [Applause] To the paint. They could use a bucket. Orlando grabs the miss down low. Here’s Black and the layup falls. Black’s got the lead up to 12 now for the Magic. And Isaac is a nice passer. I mean, senses when his guys are ready to shoot the ball and gets it to him quickly. Pass to Jackson Davis outside. Curry [Applause] and it’s off from three-point range. And so it’s Bane with it. He’ll bring it up for the Magic. The 12-point lead, their biggest of the game. And here is Suggs. Hagner with a screen for Suggs. The three-pointer. No good. Golden State’s gone one and three from outside the ark since we’ve reached the fourth quarter. Moody the pass to Santos. Curry. Curry. Curry. And here is Moody. Curry way outside. Can’t drop the tough three-pointer. And and he has definitely been struggling in this quarter. You know, guys, it seems to me as though he’s over anxious. He seems to be pressing, trying too hard, moving too fast. Just needs to calm himself down and wait for good shots. Here’s Suggs and contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. Suggs is a capable shooter now. requires a little extra attention. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] And he can’t get the first one. So for the Magic Carter, he’s checked in for Mo Vagner. Banero comes in for Isaac. And it’s Fran Vagner in for Bane. Pajki, he’s checked in for the Warriors. Push on the miss. And he’s good on the second. Warriors trail by 13. [Applause] Curry with the bounce pass. They set the pick. to the inside. [Applause] Moody finds Pajki. [Applause] Five on the clock trying to find Jackson Davis and gets it to him. Be a good looking bounce pass to set up that one. Orlando leading by 11. Wagner outside. Now here’s Sugs. He’s tightly guarded and foul on the shot. So, he’ll get a chance at the line. Really good aggressive take from Suggs giving the defense no choice but to foul him there. [Applause] And he knocks down the first one. [Applause] [Applause] 12 free throws good from Sugs. Warriors trail by 13. [Applause] Pajki pass to Moody. Back to Pajki. Lock at six. Curry wide open. Nails the wideopen jump shot. Curry’s got five points in the quarter. And the shooting mechanics of Curry, they are as pure as anybody who’s ever played. He’s such a dangerous shooter and scorer. Carter with the screen. Pancero passes to Carter and it’s blocked and he’s able to get it back. Pass to Suggs. Pancero. A screen on Curry and finished off by Bancer. And great attention to detail from Bonero on the play. Making sure he’s there to get the ball and send it back. Now Pajki [Applause] and he gets the basket. Officials blowing the whistle. So a chance at the line for one more. What a play there. The hoop plus the harm. Yeah, great concentration there. Hung in there. He didn’t let that contact throw him off at all. Stayed focused on the rim. Knew he was going to get hit and still was able to finish. Baines checked in for Jaylen Suggs. [Applause] That one misses for Pompeki. And Vagner’s got the ball here for the Magic. Bane for three. Nailed from three-point land. Bane’s got the lead up to 14 now for the Magic. Healed outside. Outside Curry. The inside game of Stephen Curry. Hey, inside Curry has all the tricks. floaters, scoop shots, fall aways, left hand, right hand, however he has to do it, he will. Vanero kicks to Bane. He gets that one. Bane’s got 12 points here in the second half. Unwilling to let up even for a moment. That’s his killer instinct. Just fanning the flames. Yeah, I love the fact he doesn’t play the score. He just keeps coming. Attack mode. What a move at the rim. Butler. Well, I like seeing Butler show off his mad hops. This guy’s got big time bounce and knows how to slam it down with authority. Jaylen Suggs has checked in for Black. [Applause] on the free throw. No good. And to me, Draymond Green really embodies the idea of a high IQ player. He he can read the opposition, predict where a play is going, and those instincts aren’t something that can be easily taught to anyone. Warriors trail by 12. Tries it from nine. Pass to Pimsky. [Applause] 11 ft away. Carter pulls it in. The Magic have gone seven of 13 from the field here in the fourth. [Applause] Suggs looking around and Carol. A screen for Suggs and finished off by Berrow. And Bonero is putting it all together. Capable of scoring from all three levels. Now here’s healed. This one for three. Carter pulls it in. Carter’s got his 16th rebound on the night. Van Carol with the ball and Curry picks him up defensively. Bane inside the three-point line. Again, the Magic score. Warriors trail by 16. Curry on the wing. Suggs with the steel. And now the pass. Prag. Pancero with the ball. The second chance effort. And that one goes out of bounds. Last touch by Banker. You got to love strong defense, especially when it comes in the form of harsh rejections. Wow. Boy. And that’ll give them a nice injection. Nothing like a rejection to get a team fired up. [Applause] Golden State’s gone into a funk from downtown in the fourth. Only one of their five three-pointers has found the bottom of the bucket. Lets the three fly. Oh, Butler draining the three. This team does a good job of keeping Butler involved in everything. Agner passes to Carter. Now, here’s Suggs. Oh, hit that outside. Bane to the middle. Here’s Ben Carroll. And there’s two points. Working on the glass paying off that time. Well, I love Ban Carol’s overall game because it’s terrific. I like to see him taking over too as an alpha dog leading the way going and getting his. That’s impressive. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. There was no hesitating. He wants to talk to the team right now. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] It’s time now to hear from our Hall of Fame reporter, David Aldridge. What’s the latest, David? Thanks, Kevin. Well, Steve Kerr talked to his team during the break. He was preaching the importance of effort, saying he wanted to see second and third efforts each possession. We need to be the more active team down the stretch, guys. Okay, David. Thanks. Pass to Green. I got your help. Fires it up. It’s hauled in by the Magic. Carter’s got rebound number 17, if you can believe that. Suggs dishes to Carter. Here’s Ban Carol. That one falls coming off Carter’s feet. And now it’s up to 25 points for Paulo Banger. Pass to Pajki. And here is Heel. Now Pajimski and the call on the shot that sends him to the line. And how about mixing it up inside there. Steph still a threat. That nimleness he has helps him to get that shot off. [Applause] That’s good from Stephen Kirk. [Applause] [Applause] Stephen Curry hits them both. Suggs with the ball. Vagner out on inside and it’s Carter missing. Wow, what a rough second half for him shooting the basketball. Maybe you adopt a a pass first mentality at this point. Kick it out. Pass to Pajki. Back to Healed. There’s the triple. Rebound by the Magic and tonight’s battle is going to end with a very clear winner, leaving nothing to chance. Impressive win for the Magic. And they had to battle for this win. There were times when it looked like it was maybe slipping away a bit, but they never let that happen, which I thought was a real credit to them. And that’s a product of their mental toughness. Anytime the flow of the game turned against them, instead of caving, they just dialed it up a notch and were able to pull away. And a great team effort tonight helped in large part with contributions and the nice night it ended up being for Jaylen Sun. Tell you what, this guy worked his behind off on both ends of the floor. He was really an intimidating presence out there. And the first one drops. And every year, and Greg we agree, Bane seems to get better and better as a playmaker. Doesn’t overdo anything with his passing. looks more and more comfortable creating off the drive and kick. He’s become a large part of this offensive engine. Catching up on the changes for Orlando. Mo Vagner’s checked in for Carter. Jonathan Isaac comes in for Paulo Banker. Blacks checked in for Fran Vagner. And Jones subbed in for subs. [Applause] Pass to Santos. Moody with it. Here’s Post. He’s defended by Vagner and it’s going to be out of bounds. The Magic will take it. Richardson, he’s checked in for the Magic. There’s 53 seconds left here in the fourth quarter. Outside Bane. Here’s Isaac. And Isaac throws it down. They made the most of their opportunities looking comfortable and locked in throughout the night. Boy, they’ve given their fans plenty to cheer about, that’s for sure. Effort, skill, coaching, you name it, they’ve done it. To the paint. Nice pass, nice catch, and a resounding dunk. Here’s Jones. It’s 9 seconds separating the shot clock and game clock. Who’s going to tell you? Pass to Isaac. Now Bane. Back to Isaac with the kicks it out to Richardson. Here’s Jones. [Applause] And so it’s Orlando taking this one by a big margin. They won this game going away. They were the better basketball team by far tonight. And you got to commend this sort of dominance, particularly here at home. It’s a great feeling when you play almost a perfect game and to have that crowd be so pumped up. It’s time now to go courtside as we send you over to David Aldridge from the sideline. David, take it over.
