So, could the Sacramento Kings be trading away Demar D Rozan to the Toronto Raptors this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. So, from a Raptors fans perspective, which I am, this would be a really cool story. But from a basketball perspective, I don’t want this to happen whatsoever. The Raptors are in a bit of a tough spot because they’re paying a lot of money to players that I would say, truthfully speaking, aren’t necessarily worth it. And their payroll is pretty high for a team that just really, truthfully speaking, isn’t that amazing. Like, could they very well be a playoff team next year? Yeah, I could see them making the playoffs. Could they be a championship team next year? I don’t think so. Like even with how wide open the Eastern Conference is, I think this Raptors team currently constructed has a lot of flaws. Now, one of the main reasons is of course health concerns, right? With Scotty Barnes, uh with Yakob Purle, with specifically Brandon Ingram, like if these guys stay on the courts, yeah, it’s going to be a decent group, don’t get me wrong, but you’re paying a lot of money to these guys that aren’t readily available. Demard Rosen, I guess, in that regards a little bit more consistent. And he was a tremendous Raptors player. But keep in mind, we traded this guy. we won a championship without him. He’s still a really tremendous player. Like I think Demar Rosen fits this team pretty well from a basketball perspective, but just from a financial perspective, I don’t love the move like getting an older player uh that’s expensive adding to this group. It just doesn’t make a lot of sense if you ask me. Um yeah, so I wouldn’t do this trade personally speaking, especially too if they’re giving up RJ Barrett who’s a good young 20 point per game scorer. Kind of similar to Rosen in a way, I would say. So I think the Kings actually do pretty well getting a little bit younger here. plus a first round draft pick three years from now. Like there’s a very good chance that this Raptors team in 2028 is a lottery team. I don’t see this team getting that much better like especially with Messiah Jiri leaving after this NBA draft. Perhaps the writing’s on the wall a little bit just in regards to the future of this franchise and kind of the direction that they’re heading. So tremendous story, don’t get me wrong, but if I had to pick a winner for this deal, I’m going to go with the Sacramento Kings. It’s just common sense. They’re getting younger. They’re getting still some pretty solid offense. Plus a first round draft picking from a team heading downhill. It’s just complete logic in my opinion uh for the Kings to make this deal.
