🚨 Bradley Beal joining the Clippers after agreeing to buyout with the Suns 🚨 | The Pat McAfee Show

Ladies and gentlemen, joining us live to break some news from the basketball association. Ladies and gentlemen, friend of the program, Kirk, do you know this man? I don’t know. Ladies and gentlemen, Sham Shiron. I don’t know him. I know of him. He does great work. Great work. Love him. Hey, we’re talking 20our screen time trying to get to the bottom of everything. I believe we have some breaking news. Shams, we do. Bradley Beal of the Phoenix Suns has reached agreement on a contract buyout with the Suns. He’s giving back $13.9 million out of his $110 million contract. His representative Mark Barlino of Priority Sports tells me the plan is for Bradley Beal now to sign a two-year 11 million deal to join the Los Angeles Clippers. So Brad Beal, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden will all team up together with the Clippers. And so he’s giving up some money in this buyout with the Suns, but this now gives him an opportunity to compete for a championship, a better basketball fit for him. So, he is set to join uh the Clippers as we are tweeting away here right now. That baby Sham’s way to walk and chew gum and talk and tweet at the same time. We appreciate the news break here. Congrats to Beal seemingly losing $2 million but probably ending up where he wanted to be now with Eightton doing a similar thing. Is this normal for NBA offseasons for guys to get out of contracts and maybe go to where they want to go to? uh for for for players like Bradley Beal’s caliber and DeAndre Eaton, it is not the norm. But when you think about he he’s he has $110 million he had over two years. So So it was really his decision to buy out the fact that he’s now giving up almost $14 million. The Suns are going to stretch and wave. So that that word stretch and wave is something that we saw happen with Damen Lillard in Milwaukee. So they the Bucks stretching away essentially two years 113 million on Damen Lillard’s deal so that they can go and sign Miles Turner and then DeAndre Aton buys out gives up I want to say 910 million in his buyout with Portland to go sign with the Lakers and now Bradley Beal same thing giving up uh you know almost $14 million he is now headed to the LA Clippers so not the norm for players of this caliber and Damon Lillard still a free agent we’ll see if he ends up signing the off seasonason does wait till next summer, but um you know it’s it’s definitely not the norm uh at this point in the offseason. Okay, so Bradley Beiel gone, Kevin Durant gone. The Phoenix Suns now have gone into the luxury tax below him. Where where are the Phoenix Suns? And because I know with all the rules against them with all the contracts, they couldn’t do Yeah, I don’t even know if they were able to field a team next year if they continued down the path that they went. Is that accurate or where are they at now? This gives them tons of flexibility moving forward as they try to build their team. Pat. So these words first apron and second apron. The Phoenix Suns are now officially fully out of the first and second apron. They are not a first and second apron team. They they are scheduled. They they can essentially decide do they want to be a luxury tax team. They can even go fully out of the luxury tax this off season. So they’re out of the aprons. They also now unfreeze some of their draft pick. So, they’re going to have more tradable draft picks moving forward because as we’ve talked about, it’s way more punitive being in the second apron, the first apron. It restricts you. It freezes your draft picks. So, bunch of draft picks are now going to be unfrozen in the years to come. I’m throwing those things out. I’m throwing them out, especially out there in the desert. And they’ll have some money, too. They’re going to have about 78 million to use in free agency. They’ll have a little bit of their mid-level exception to use in trades. So, they’re going to have seven or eight million with their mid-level. They’re out of both aprons. Uh they’ll have more draft picks to play within the future. So, the Suns, this is a move for them to get them fully out uh of of this position they were in. Much more financial and team building flexibility. That’s awesome.
