Steve has to give JK room to grow but JK has to learn there’s more to the game than just scoring. Steve should give JK 13 shots a game to get however he wants and just see what happens. Forget the offensive scheme with him. Just play him as the 6th man he wants to be, a scoring spark plug, and see if it works. Best case, he’s a consistent second scorer to Steph. Worst case, he fails and loses the ego then plays winning team basketball.
That is all correct even if a few things were left out. JK hasn't been the consistent defender his physical tools tell you he should be. His positioning on defence is mostly terrible and off ball he falls asleep a lot. If he had even half of Dray or Jimmy's feel for the game defensively he'd be truly elite on that end.
Another big reason he hasn't got a consistent role is because even as a 4 in Kerr's system he'll almost always fill in behind Dray.
I think it's a given that he will be traded likely closer to the deadline as there doesn't seem to be any market for him right now and the team will want to get full value salary wise in a trade which they couldn't do right now if they executed a sign and trade.
The other half of this picture is the deficiencies of the motion offense. Obviously the team has a fraction of the talent that it did at the height of the dynasty most of that experience, talent is gone. As a result the team has become even more reliant on Steph than it was previously. They never effectively replaced either Iggy or Livingston so the team has been lacking in effective ball handlers for years let alone ones they weren't massive defensive liabilities. They also never really replaced Bogut, KD (in a purely positional sense) or Zaza. Loon dawg to his credit did the best he possibly could and he will always be a Warriors legend but he was often fighting an uphill battle and rarely won if ever won his matchup on any given night.
Steph can play in ANY offense! Draymond is who GS offense is based on! When did GS have to beat an elite BIG in finals? They convinced themselves a real big isn’t necessary. It is fair to say they don’t value development of young talent. Should have got rid of Draymond and kept Klay(if he would have took pay cut,he did for Dallas). Draymond is toxic for young players development. Look at the talent that’s either wasn’t developed fully or is not there. Wiggins,JK,Poole,Wiseman ,Moody. As a Pels fan I can tell you young players don’t develop looking over their shoulders. Dyson Daniels, Nikel Alexander Walker, Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball( before injury) are flourished elsewhere. Coaching should have found a way to do a system that capitalized on this young ATHLETIC talent. Instead they built around Draymond. Offensive and defense.
Dray didn’t feel threatened 😂 yall really just be talking….Poole was talking shiii while they were overseas and he kept talking as if he was that dude. Poole sucks ass and Dray had to remind him that he’s only as good as the big 3 makes him look….how great was Poole in Washington 🤔 oh yeah he lead the worst team 😂😂 yall really hyped that man and still want to make it as if Dray was the problem. Now It’s JK’s fault he’s the player so do your damn job CONSISTENTLY and stop thinking you’ve earned something you didn’t. It’s always been Moody over Kuminga for me
You know, the more I think about it either Bob Meyers or Joe Lacob – or both – really lost their mojo in draft picks over the last couple years of Mr Meyers’ tenure.
Kerr's decisions are only good if Steph is on the floor. So your video should have ended with a juxtaposition of the playoffs that just ended. Would have made for a better video
Now I feel like I wasted 20 mins
Jimmy playing how Kerr wants is only good of people are hitting shots. When no one is hitting shots. You need a bucket getter to keep you in the game. That is why you don't ice out a player like JK . You keep him involved because you go stretches where you need a bucket getter to go get you a bucket.
Also, it's easy to guard warriors in the playoffs because people have seen those same plays for more tian à decade now!!
If you watch enough ball, you see defenders calling out the reads. You need JK to keep them off the game.
Steph getting old. Doing those marathons daily is dumb. Let JK do the work.
Kinda like in football where you have the run (JK) and when you get defense focused on the run, you hit them where it hurts with a pass (Steph).
The W’s are gonna give JK away for a ham sandwich. Kerr doesn’t like his game. He wants him to be a better 3 ball shooter, which is not his skillset. I believe if Kerr stays JK goes. JK will flourish under any other coach. Kerr hasn’t developed any star players. The W’s need to get younger and more athletic, does it make sense to trade your most athletic young player. NO! THEY WILL REGRET choosing a 2 year head coach over a young possible star. Kerr is gone when Curry’s contract is up.
Some interesting points in your video. Idk if the Giannis or Siakam comparisons, in terms of situations, is that relevant. For example, Giannis had like 7 or 8 seasons of meaningless ball to work on his craft. Think he was 26 when he won the chip. Siakam entered the league at 22. When his minutes spiked to 31 per game, he ended up winning MIP that year and the following year is when they won the chip( he was 25).
The case for JK has always been that he was a very young and raw prospect, and wasn't going to be ready in time to truly help and aging Curry. 25-27 year old JK, without a Doubt in my mind will be that player we've been needing for like the past 2-3 seasons( Before the Butler trade)… Problem is, that's when Curry is 41 or 42 years old…😂
his off ball defense is also horrific…he gets caught ball watching a LOT and he is a sub par rebounded at his size. pods out rebounds him by double at 5 inches shorter and far less athletic. If Kuminga wants to be the man on a team, then his ceiling, is averaging 26 on a lottery team. If he wants to be a winner, than he needs to drastically improve his basketball IQ, become a pass first player, a far better off ball defender, and a guy that is going to get you 8 boards a night, even on a bad night.
I think it’s both sides fault. Kerr was at fault for benching him the entire final 4 game stretch. That affected his confidence and made him desperate to get shots up instead of doing it naturally. However in the Wolves series when he saw that hit minutes weren’t jeopardized bc Steph was out he was able to play more focus and do better. They both need to come in the middle, JK is a great talent and if he wasn’t then I wouldn’t suggest what I’m about to suggest. Kerr needs to figure out a new/different system for JK or just a way to help him fit. While JK needs to rebound more, better his defense, and do the fundamentals. In 2-3 years Curry will retire and that Curry system won’t work anymore. So they need to start preparing a new system and they could rebuild around JK or draft a player. But it’s the coaches job to make sure a player fits the system and plays well. They need to make good rotation and I think they could have Dray come off the bench and have JK be at the pf. The lineup would be Curry Podz Butler JK Center. And then if they are facing a small team they could just have Green at the center. Also since we seen that Butler isn’t necessarily aggressive the Warriors should have JK in the same rotation as Butler. Butler could be the brain that controls the plays while JK is body that acts it out since he has the athleticism and ability to, which Butler lacks. This will ensure that JK doesn’t take away shots from Curry. And we have seen that JK and Butlwr can play together only reason it didn’t work out was because they didn’t have enough fire power/scoring. And this was partially Butler fault for not being aggressive.
Barring a huge trade, the GSW are not a Championship calibre team. They are a fringe playoff team at best. Jimmy Butler is overhyped and frankly, the Warriors had one of the softest schedules after the All-Star break. So his impact was overblown as they would have had a similar second half with or without him. Fans will see this season he is not a huge difference makes and will eventually bump heads with Draymond and become a cancer as he always does. They will not compete for another championship without a huge blockbuster trade.
Crazy the comments about Kerr. He just took a trash team to the playoffs. The Warriors were a one and done play in team at best and they got into the first round and lost because Curry got hurt. Funny how quick people turn on the folks who gave them the success they had. They were running G-League players out there.
Steve Kerr and Kyle Shanahan rely too much on their older stars. This is great when their older players are healthy and playing well but disastrous when they are injured or struggling.
Sitting Kuminga should have been a firing offense. This isn't a good coach. Kerr should be fired and Kuminga should be getting 36 a night. Figure it out. Make it work. Kuminga is 23.
the idea of kuminga is far better than the reality. if curry and draymond feel kuminga contribute and have a great fit with the starters kuminga would have started games. the thing is warriors fans are dumb just like lakers fans. they need a scapegoat and doesnt want to understand that context where kerr, curry and draymond all have the same opinion that kuminga isnt a starter
JK has had 4 full years with the Warriors plus one in the G league. He doesn’t know how to rebound, box out, set a pick, roll off a pick, pass, drive and dish, or keep the ball moving. His handle isn’t great. His shooting isn’t great. Too many turnovers.
He doesn’t have the ball handling skills or shooting skills to play the 3. He couldn’t outplay Wiggins at the 3. He can’t outplay Butler at the 3. So basically he’s a small ball 4 or a backup 3.
Kerr is 1 dimensional and is holding Steph back. Steph is the last great American basketball player. After him, it's all foreign players. Regardless, Steph, Wigs, and Poole carried the 2021 championship. Dray was an also ran and Klay was inconsistent.

Mark Jackson built the Warriors not Kerr they were good already.

GSW ‘s championship door is closed. It was a great run.

6 Finals Appearances in 10 Years. 4 Rings from those 6 years. 🤷♂️

Kerr lets Pods play through his mistakes. JK doesn't always even know what the mistake was that got him pulled.
The way he says Stephen curry is wild to me lol
Swish, I'm disappointed with this video.
😅😅😅
Anyone who watches basketball ready knows this.

What is this schizo agenda pushing video 😂
That looked like Clifford Ray when you showed that picture from 1976. And point Guard Charles Johnson #10 "CJ"

Bro JK is 22 years old lol. Everybody acting like he’s in his prime. Jordan won his first chip back when he was at the young age of… 27 😂
Don't do Mark Jackson like that.

Oh yeah, it’s all Kerr’s fault 😂
Mark Jackson built the Warriors, not Steve Kerr. There in lies the problem.
Kerr is a good coach. He doesn’t know how to develop young players. When he came to the warriors the splash brothers were already there
I wonder what Kerr would do if he knew all his players voted Trump.
