Golden State Warriors Miss Out On Bradley Beal, Silence Continues This NBA Offseason

The Golden State Warriors reportedly weren’t willing to offer more than a minimum for Bradley Beal, allowing the Los Angeles Clippers to swoop in and land him on a 2-year 11-million-dollar deal. Frank Michael Smith joins Chuck Walter in this episode of Locked On Warriors to discuss Jimmy Butler’s production, Steph Curry’s final years, and a look around the league as a whole.

  1. When there's isn't a rational reason for a player to be so inexplicably disregarded by a coach, there's an emotional reason. Hmm… let's think. Where is there emotional instability on the team?

  2. We NEED a more consistent 3rd option. Buddy's good in bursts, but I trust him about as far as I can throw him. If we just had one more reliable perimeter player, we could move mountains with this lineup. We were 12-3 when Buddy was awake. 24-8 once Jimmy got here. We just need that 3rd scorer man… Gotta find a way to keep from having to have Steph run around so damn much. Cam Johnson would have been amazing, bro. WTF IS DUNLEVY DOING?! There better be a master plan!!

  3. Warriors front office totally fcked up this offseason. Allowing JK to hold the team hostage is simply inexcusable. Didn't they foresee this distinct possibility?
They could have signed JK to a large contract last year, and traded him, like the Rockets did with Jalen Green (for KD!).

  4. Chuck and Frank, I don’t want to see my team get too big for it’s own good. All these podcasters and players expressing the same concern about Kerr not managing his players is a problem. Listen, it won’t take long and by the time you know it, a billion dollar franchise is down to half a million. Fans don’t like mistreating players. Trade JK or play him. Now no free good player wants us.

  5. They have limited cap space due to the salaries paid to Curry, Butler, and Green. Their prior year roster dominated after the Butler trade in the sense that they were playoff contenders. They were in the conference semi-finals and would’ve won if Curry didn’t get injured and if the rest of the team could’ve won 1 out of the 4 games they played without Curry. These suggest big trades may not be needed/waiting to see how the rest of the off-season shapes out. In their post-season interview, Someone from GSW said that had the 2024-2025 roster had a summer to practice and gel, they would’ve been a strong team from the beginning of this last season, which would’ve eliminated the pressure Currry had during the second half of the season. Basically, all point to running it back with minimal changes.

  6. Management office pretty much lost/hope; just gonna stretch-out Curry trio and hope for luck to come; and rebuild w/new young blood which meant no action/ring for another 10 yrs
