Philadelphia 76ers TRADE Quentin Grimes To The Los Angeles Lakers? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the Philadelphia 76ers be trading away Quinton Grimes to the Los Angeles Lakers this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself. But this trade would see the Los Angeles Lakers receiving Quentyn Grimes and the Philadelphia 76ers receiving Ruy Hatchima, Dalton Connect, and a 2031 first round draft pick. So, it’s always a good thing to add some more depth, specifically in this case to the Lakers back court, which I guess in theory could be a bit of a weakness for them in regards to their bench depth. But truthfully speaking, is this an asking price that I’d be comfortable giving up if I’m the Los Angeles Lakers? Probably not. Like Rui Heshimura, good young player, Daltton Connect, good young player, has the potential in this league. I fully do believe that. But most importantly, the 2031 first round draft pick, uh, to just get rid of that for a player like Quinton Grimes, no offense to him, that’s probably not the best course of action, especially for a team that has some concerns regarding LeBron James moving forward. And who knows what’s going to what this team’s going to look like, you know, six, seven years down the road. like there’s a very good chance that maybe Luca Donuch is on another team or this team looks completely different from how they’re constructed as of this moment. So, I probably wouldn’t risk trading away an unprotected first round draft pick about six years down the road if I’m the Los Angeles Lakers. This team could very well be, as I mentioned before, very different at that point. They could be a lottery team. Even if we’re giving that up right now for Quinton Grimes, a player that is a good piece to have, don’t get me wrong, but a player that doesn’t really move the needle that much in my opinion in regards to making this team a championship contender. I just wouldn’t do this. Now, from the Sixers perspective, I love this deal. Like for a team in Philadelphia who when healthy, they can be pretty good, but the question mark for them, of course, is their health. Uh does Paul George bounce back? How does Embiid bounce back from his injury? A lot of question marks. But if you’re able to get Ruy, Hatchima, Dalton connect, and a 2031 first round draft pick, at the very least, these are potential pieces for the future of this team. And maybe if they sort of struggle this year, they pivot off of players like Paul George, like Joel Embiid, and kind of hand the keys to like a Tyresese Maxi, so to speak, and build around players like Jared McCain, etc. This could be a tremendous move for them, uh, for the future. So, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with the Philadelphia 76ers. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
