Uh, I don’t think this is getting much attention as it needs to be given and that are the Spurs new assistant coaches, Sean Sweeney, Cordis Williamson. Uh, how key are they sitting next to Mitch Johnson and beyond that just what they can bring to the team? We’re going to be talking about that. And by the way, our guest has been very, very high on the two new coaching additions. We’ll hear their side of the story as well. And then Joe’s Garcia, we’re going to put him in the spotlight and then look at some lockdowns first. locked on Spurs fan comments. You might want to you probably gonna predict which ones I’m going to pick because the spring of the guest because he’s been getting a lot of comments on lockdown on Spurs YouTube page. He is back everybody joining us once again right here on Lockdown Spurs. Rudy Compos himself. He is with Sweep the League. And you know what? It’s been a while. We got to give him his walking music. Yeah. I mean, the the generational podcaster, as you can tell, but hello my name uh definitely is back, man. I need that walk of music cuz people been trying to cook me, Jeff, and it doesn’t seem to work. But well, but but it’s gone beyond just the uh the YouTube page. Now it’s infiltrated X. Now you’re looking for you on X out of bring up like, what the bleeping are you talking about? Uh so gee, uh Rudy, I wonder what comment I’m going to pick later on this episode of Lockdown Spurs. So, we’re gonna be talking about that again. Make sure to follow him on next at a sweep league. He is a generational podcaster. According to his standards, he’s probably not generational. No, I I don’t use generational ever for anything, you know, but I figured, you know what? I may well be the self-proclaimed generational podcaster. Yeah. We’ll talk about his show in just a few minutes. So, again, uh Rudy, we thank you for your time. But let’s go to dive into it here. you’ve been pretty vocal whether it’s here on locked on Spurs or on your show Sweet the League about the two coaching hires uh the Spurs are going to have and Johnson’s site that is former Maverick assistant coach Sean Sweeney and Corus Williamson the former player he’s been around the block of the coaching system as well uh big nasty is what they called him um you’ve been very high on this and I think you want to get this message out to Spurs fans in the sense of this is huge like this is a big. These two additions are huge for not just Mitch Johnson, but for the development of the players. Do you care to explain why you’ve been very high on these two additions? Well, you got to look at two things here. Now, as a player, Corus Williamson was a champion uh with the uh can’t remember the team it was a champion with, but back in 2004, he was a champion for the NBA. He’s one of the NBA’s most rugged guys. And what’s good about him is that, you know, he’s got the he’s got the uh the championship, you know, pedigree with him. Not at the NBA level, Jeeoff, but at the NCAA level as well. Um, you know, the thing with Cotto Williamson is he brings that rugged style. Remember remember the guys like we had Mario Ellie from back in the day when the Spurs had that key run in the very first NBA title run. Guys like Mario Ellie. So, kind of what Corles Robson brings to the bench, he’s gonna bring the toughness that a lot of these young guys need when it comes to being players on the court. And we’ve always said Victor needs to get tougher. You know, Jeremy needs to just play a little bit more tougher. You got younger kids in here. Devin still relatively young. Kell still relatively young. You got Carter Bryant as we can see over summer league. He’s a great tough defender. He’s gonna get even better with a guy like Corus Williamson on the bench. He just brings that nastiness that of course big nasty is his nickname. He brings that nastiness that the Spurs need on the bench. That’s just one great hire for them that’s going to make a difference. But the other great hire, that’s the one that’s the key right there. And that’s Sean Sweeney. Yeah. From Dallas. By the way, Williamson won a title with the Pistons in 2004. Just to bring you up. Yeah, we’ll talk about Sean Sweeney in just a few seconds, but more on Williamson. It’s not just his NBA player resume that shines. It’s his coaching resume that shines, too. So, remember, he’s an NBA champion, so he’s going to bring that championship pedigree to the Spurs. He’s a former sixman of the year. You cannot tell me that could be important for maybe a guy like Vel, if somewhere down the season they say, you know what, maybe this this Harford kid should get the starting nod or Castle, maybe you need to be starting coming off the bench. So, he’s a guy that can bring that aspect to the and tell them, “Hey, look, I did it. You know, y’all can do it as well.” Not only that, he has he’s also an NCAA champion back in 94. So, he has a lot of that know it all what to take to win on any level, NCAA or NBA. Now, he’s not, you know, just the green uh when it comes to coaching. I’m looking at his coaching resume here. He was assistant coach at Arkansas Baptist. He was assistant coach with the Kings from 2013 to 16 with the Magic with the Suns and then of course last season with the Timberwolves. So he’s bringing a wealth of knowledge, a wealth of player knowledge as well. And I think that’s what’s key for me when I look at Corus Williams is that he can relate to these young guys because look, Mitch Johnson wasn’t an NBA player. Corus Williamson was. So, I think that’s going to help Mitch Johnson as far as having a coaching staff that can relate to the players. And here’s somebody, Corus Williamson, who’s been there and done that on the NBA harder. What your thoughts? Yeah, and that’s exactly the reason why I like Corless Williamson as a hire for the San Antonio Spurs. Not only bring a sense of attitude when it comes to getting these guys ready, but the coaching stance that he’s had. He’s been under guys like Frank Vogle when he was with the Orlando Magic. uh coaching again under the Phoenix Suns as an assistant coach. I mean, most recently with the Minnesota Timberwolves, we’ve seen the success Minnesota has had the past couple of seasons backto back, you know, Western Conference Finals. So, I mean, he was there back in 2023. So, yeah, he’s been along on some teams that have actually been pretty darn good. I mean, there was some struggles there for Orlando for a while under Vogle, but again, the thing with Williamson is that he brings the oncourt aspect of games. Now, he’s not an X and O guy. From my understanding, he’s really not an X’s and O guy. He is that guy that is again, like you mentioned, on the court. He’s not going to draw plays. He’s not going to this. He’s going to teach you how to play the game down in the trenches. He’s going to bring that aspect of the game that a lot of the players today, especially on this roster, don’t have. I mean, it’s all finesse and fun and games, but when it comes down to nitty-gritty basketball and winning basketball, something that this team is ready to do right now, perfect hire, Corus Williamson. Yeah, exactly. So, you know, you look at some of the teams he’s been with as as a coach, you know, the Kings in 2013, that was still during their good years, you know. Yeah. Um they were still, you know, um God, it was that one run they had they were facing the Lakers all the time. They’re running into them. Yeah. Um, so that team was pretty good. Uh, and of course the last season with the Timberwolves, you know, sure maybe they fizzled out, but this is we forget Minnesota went to the Western Conference Finals how many years in a row now? Twice now. Back toback years. So backto-back years. So the despite maybe, you know, them coming up short there, that’s still proven that he’s been a part of a team, a West team that has gone deep into the playoffs in the Western Conference Finals. But yeah, I like the addition. What I But I agree with I think the the nail for me is, you know, why they call him big nasty. I think sometimes this team can use some nastiness on the court. I think he’s going to bring that bring that to them. And I can I can see him kind of like like you mentioned the good name Mario Ellie. Mario Elliott was not a coach with the I think he was a coach with the Spurs, but when he was uh with the Spurs, the player, he would get his people’s faces and I think you may need that. Not to say Mitch Johnson can’t do that. I’m pretty sure he has and he’s done on these guys, but imagine having Corus Williamson backing him up. You know, I think that’d be good for the player development. So, yeah, bravo, hire Spurs. But we’re not done talking about the new additions to the coaching staff. Coming up next, we’re going to talk about Sean Sweeney, a little bit more about him, why he’s perhaps even the bigger key addition to the coaching staff next to Mitch Johnson. Right here on Lock Sports with Mr. Rudy Compost. He is our next at Sweet Dilly. He’s a generational podcaster. That’s why you got to follow him. Uh again, he is at Sweet League. Hey, but I want to talk to you about open phone. If you’re running a business, you know, every mis call is pretty much money left on the table. Think about it. Lock offers joined by the generational podcaster himself, Rudy Copos of Sweep the League. Mr. Followman X at sweep the league. We’re going to be having a little discussion about Loft Spurs fan comments in a bit. Heads up, Rudy. You know which ones I’m gonna pick, right? You know which ones, right? I already know which you know. Yeah, Rudy’s getting it from every social media for YouTube X. They’re like, “How dare you say that about Wimi?” But hey, I heard some people actually did agree with you, though. Some people are like, “Okay, now we get it. We get it.” I guess just don’t take all the credit when he makes that generational leap. You be like, “See, I inspired him. It was me who did it. We’re talking about the Spurs new additions to the coaching staff and why they’re key. Now, we put Curtis Williams first in the spotlight and we highlighted that he can be that very good connector uh as far as player coach and understanding what the players are going through. But Sean Sweeney, a lot of people around the league are saying the Spurs got themselves a good one. And a lot of other again a lot of people were just scratching their heads like why did Dallas let him go? He was Jason Kid’s right-hand man. a big reason why Dallas had uh some playoff success and why their defense was really really good uh for how many years he was there. You’ve been very vocal about Sweeney as well. Why do you think he’s such a good hire? So, you made a point a second ago with Jason Kid. So, Sean Sween’s been with Jason Kid in the Dallas years and also with the Brooklyn years. you know, he coached uh guys like Kevin Garnett, and he was actually people don’t know, but he he should be given a ton of credit for making Giannis the player that he is today. I mean, he worked, I want to say, like night and day with Giannis Antompo. And now you see how the type of player he is. Sean Sweeney should have been a head coach somewhere in this league by now. When you talk about a players coach, he’s a players coach, but he’s a respected players coach. You’re talking about a guy who is a defensive mastermind. He can work wonders on the defensive side. You’ve got probably the best defensive player in the league right now in Victor Wmanyama. You’ve got actually what you’ve seen in Carter Bryant and Stefan Castle. You know, you’ve got a lot of great defensive guys. Sean Sweeneying is the higher of hires when it comes to coaching offse offseason coaching moves by the Spurs. They got a doozy. The reason why this guy is not a head coach, I don’t know. But for right now, taking him as an associate head coach for the San Antonio Spurs, that is a massive win. And when you talk about adding a twotime, threetime allstar to your roster in free agency, not that they did, but I’m just saying that’s the type of hire that Sean Sweeney is, is he is that allstar guy that comes onto the coaching staff and makes an immediate immediate impact. Great hire by the Spurs. This guy knows his X’s and O’s. He knows how to get through the players. He’s a great guy when it comes to defensive strategy. I mean, you are, if you’re a Spurs fan, you’re excited for the team. You should be more excited for that Spurs hire of Sean Sweeney, right? Absolutely. Now, he was a part of that Phoenix run they had in 2022 and 2024, the 22 West finals and Suns in the finals in 2024. So, he was a big key to them. And then, of course, being Jason Kidd’s right-hand man. Uh, yeah, that that speaks of all for him. believe I I think reports were he was in a running at least, you know, on the radar for the Knicks job. So, he’s been on the radar for a lot of head coaching spots. And I would not be surprised if after maybe a year or two that he leaves San Antonio for a head coaching spot. I mean, that’s how good he is. And again, he will be Mitch Johnson’s probably first assistant on that coaching staff. You’ll be sitting right next to him come next season. Could you say could you see the situation as more like Sean Swinny being like with like the we see in the NFL like you have an offensive coach, a defensive coach. You see him more of a defensive coach maybe over Mitch Johnson. Uh that that’s the idea behind it I think. But overall I I think what you’re really seeing is you’re really seeing a allaround coach for Mitch Johnson. Now, knowing Mitch is still relatively young as a head coach, I think Sean Sween is going to come in. He’s going to be more than just a right-hand man to Mitch Johnson, which I have no problem with at all. And, you know, if you want to compare it, remember the impact that Chip England had with the Spurs as far as shooting goes. That’s the same kind of impact you’re going to see with Shan Sweeney. He’s going to make an immediate impact for the team, especially on the defensive side. Would not surprise me to see the Spurs and go ahead and mark this down people. Wouldn’t surprise me to see the Spurs as easily a top three defensive team when it’s all said and done. That that’s the kind of impact you’re going to see with him. And he’s not going to be just defense, Jeff. It’s going to be the allaround guy. He can get through he can get to players minds. Him and Corus Williamson when it comes to getting on players, making sure they’re in the right spots, making sure they are practicing hard and not just going through the motions. These are the two guys that you want on your roster. Fantastic hires by the San Antonio Spurs. Yeah, you know, we highlighted Cornes Williamson uh his coaching resume and which was pretty good. And now check out Sean Sweeney. So he’s worked in uh back when they were the New Jersey Nets from 2011 to 2013 under Avery Johnson. Yeah. So So he has that type of pedigree already. So let’s keep on going. All right. So then he was an assistant coach at Detroit under Dwayne Casey and I believe he was the coach of the year. So yeah as well. Yep. Then he goes to the Dallas Mavericks joins Jason Kidd and then of course we know what happened there. You know deep playoff runs for Dallas. Uh you know he was part of the Bucks as you you highlighted being helping out Giannis uh you know his development. You probably see that extrapolated to Wimi. So again, you know, and then of course, how many deep playoff runs has he had everywhere he’s gone? We talked about Dallas, so check. We talked about the Bucks, check. Uh, and the list goes on and on. Um, he was even, um, you know, just a part of a lot of these deep runs for almost every team he’s gone to. You hope that can translate to this young team looking just to get into the playin. I think that will help. So, as much as the player pickups have been key this season, Rudy, you know, from Kelly Olen, drafting Harper, uh, you know, Cornet, etc., etc., would you perhaps rank the coaching pickups they had this off season as maybe the under the radar best move they done? Absolutely. I won’t ever vi away from that right there. the Spurs, you know, picking up players like Kelly Olen and Luke Cornett. Those were massive, massive pickups for them and for agency because it solidifies the front court, which what they had to do. They had to go in and get these big men to help Victor Wmanyama. They nailed the draft. A+ all around when it comes to the draft, getting both players are going to make, like I said, one of them’s going to make an impact right away. the other one’s going to make a difference uh especially on the defensive side of the ball, but it’s going to take time for him to make a massive impact. But when it comes to it overall, you could put the players on the roster, get the team ready, but if you don’t have the right staff coaching them, then they’re just going to continue to struggle. They’re going to continue to just basically make minor improvements with these two hires right under Mitch Johnson, of course, with the other coaches that are on the staff. This is an immediate leap forward for the San Antonio Spurs. It’s why I said they’re not, you know, just a playin team. They are kind of knocking on that playoff door right now. And a lot of it has to do with these two coaches that they hired. Absolutely. And um yeah, I’m I’m with you there, too. Uh, I know the players have to get it done on the on the court. Coaches can’t, but if they’re having success on that court, probably going to be looking towards not just Miss Johnson, but Sweeney and Williamson as well. You know, another thing about Williamson, uh, just a big guy and the Spurs now have a trio of big guys on the court and I bet he can impart some of that old school knowledge to them. Uh, to Wimi, to Olen, to Cornet. So, all round good hires by the Spurs. We’re not done talking about your silver and black. When we get back, we’re going to talk about Jones Garcia. We’re going to pick a fan comment with Rudy Compos of Sweet Delete, the generational podcaster himself, right here on Locked on Spurs. Hey, I want to talk about Monarch Money. We’re on his show in just a few minutes. Uh just a real quick note everybody. Uh Rudy and I, we got together ahead of the Thursday game, the summer game versus the Hornets. So keep that in mind as we talk about Jones Garcia. Uh as of this recording, he has not been signed by any NBA team, including the Spurs, but he’s putting up big numbers. He just he’s like a walking 20 point scoreer or more at this point in the summer league. Now, of course, Rudy, we get it. It’s just summer league. You know, summer league are built for guys like this to showcase what they can do to latch on to any NBA team. We got to make that very clear. Jones Garcia, just because he’s wearing a summer Spurs jersey doesn’t mean he’s with the Spurs. The Rockets can come get him. The Celtics could come get him. The Kings can come get him. Any team can get him. It’s fair game. But again, as of this recording, the Spurs or there’s been no report that the Spurs are going to bring him on to the San Antonio roster next season now or the Austin roster, whatever. No contract has been gone for him as of this recording. Got to make that very clear, Rudy, because there’ll be one fan be like, “Y’all didn’t mess. Y’all recorded this before.” And like, we’re making it clear. Yes, we’re aware of that. So, my point where I’m going with this everybody is Jones Garcia. Obviously, he’s lining up my Z. Yes. Yeah. Exactly. It’s Rudy’s fault because he said generational. More on that in a bit. Um I I think I I get why Spurs fans want him to wear silver and black next season, whether it’s buried on the bench or in Austin or somehow connected to the team, but I’m not going to be surprised if the Spurs don’t add him to the roster. Uh one, the position he plays, the Spurs got tons of guards. They got tons of them. to he’s proving right now that he deserves to be on an NBA roster, not a G-League roster. Now, that’s not to say that he would not be fine taking a G-League spot. He did it last year with the Capitanis, but again, you know, his path is the NBA, not the G-League. And at the rate that he’s playing, Rudy, if it’s not the Spurs, somebody’s gonna pick him up. So, ultimately, I’m trying to get at is Spurs fans. I know he look he’s playing great right now for the summer Spurs, but don’t be surprised if he doesn’t come to San Antonio because Reed there’s also this too. He may not want to come to San Antonio, not because of the Spurs at all. I don’t want to play with San Antonio, but because he could probably find more playing time elsewhere and he knows what’s going on with the Spurs roster right now. So, we’re just we’re not trying to rain the parade everybody. We’re just trying to keep things in perspective. Rudy, your thoughts? Yeah, I’m not trying to rain on a parade here. I mean, David Jones Garcia is averaging what 21.3 points a game right now in summer. He’s been doing that like majority of his career, especially in college in Memphis. Uh when he played with the Capitan, I mean, he was averaging I think 20 Yeah. four points with Mexico City. So, I mean, the kid can score. Now, I agree with you on the fact that let’s not celebrate buying his jersey right now until they officially sign him. I think they make him an offer. I just don’t know what kind of offer that he would get. You’re right. If you’re coming onto an active roster squad, you’re already behind at least what, five, six guys probably. So, you’re going to be buried in the bench. But at the end of the day, Jeff, an offer will be made. And again, I kind of agree with you. I don’t know if it’s enough to keep him because other teams out there are watching him. They may offer him that five, six, maybe $7 million a year type of contract. Can’t change that. You know, when it comes to money, this will be his first big-time contract if he gets one. Plus the playing time, he can get a lot more minutes with the team. uh he was with the Utah Jazz on the two-way contract back in 2024. So, he could get a lot more minutes with Utah. He could get a lot more minutes than the team like Charlotte or somewhere where he can, you know, obviously shine a lot more than San Antonio. But, if I’m a betting man, I would probably I would probably put the percentage at about 45% that he’s a Spur when it’s all said and done. The reason why I don’t have it as almost like 50 55 is because I just don’t know if he would accept being the 12th man on the roster right now. Right. Yeah. Right now. Yeah. The way he’s playing right now. Yeah. I actually have a lower percentage than you. I think you’re being very optimistic. I’m not the bad guy. Cool. Yeah. You’re not. I have it around 35 40% that the Spurs will um make him a good offer and the playing time because he doesn’t want it. I don’t think he wants to play again, don’t think he doesn’t want to play with San Antonio. Just they got there’s an abundance of guards on the roster. Uh yeah. So it’s just uh it just the bad timing I guess. I mean unless he’s okay like if he’s okay going to Austin then by all means San Antonio. Yes, do that. Give him one of the two ways for sure. Absolutely. But I I don’t know anything, you know, but I would suspect already there’s a lot of other NBA teams that have him on their radar right now. And again, would it be surprised if between, you know, this recording and this segment and by the time it gets released that fill in the blank NBA team picked them up, whether it be the Spurs or somebody else. Well, and it’s not that you and I are kind of blowing smoke up, you know, people about this. The Spurs coach, I can’t remember his name. I’m sorry. the summer league coach noise Mike Noise Mike Noise he kind of made a little comment where you know he did say D David Jones Garcia is putting up numbers to where he’ll be he’s getting noticed by other teams basically. So it’s not saying that they’re not going to offer him a contract. They may not have enough money or they may get outbid by somebody. So keep in mind you know it’s not us being negative towards him. We’d love to see him as a part of the roster, but even the coaching staff knows that he’s playing out of his mind. And other teams out there, they may overpay for him. So, you can’t, you know, you won’t pass up free money like that. No, absolutely not. Um, and he has to do what’s best for him. And I don’t know if he has a family, and I’m pretty sure he does. So, you know, think about them. If the Spurs are going to offer him $10, but another team’s going to offer him $50, you know, he’s going to go get them more money. It’s just basic math. So, but yeah, I love to see him in the Spurs colors, but again, don’t be surprised if he’s not Spurs fans. All right, so uh Rudy, you’ve been getting cooked uh even till today. I’ve not been getting cooked. I have not been getting cooked. So, Oh, that’s right. Because you you you you throw the water on the fire that people think that they’re cooking, right? I like to let people think, you know, at sometimes like that, but no, I mean, I they come they come after me, but it’s not cook, man. Well, in case you missed it everybody, and I know I’m not trying to throw Rudy under the bus because it’s on public record. Y go back a few shows and hear what he has to say. Uh, as of today, Mr. Compos does not think Wimbeayyama is generational. And he gave his reasons why. He’s seen guys about Wimy’s size hit threes, block shots, run the court, do everything that Wimi is doing. So, in Rudy’s opinion, he doesn’t think that makes Whim be generational. Again, this I’m I’m just trying to cover my bases here, Rudy. Again, you But you did not say he will never ever be generational. You’re just saying at this moment he’s not. So, Rudy, uh, do you want to backtrack on anything before we read the comments about that? Are you sticky holding firm? No, I mean, I do not consider Victor a generational talent right now. Now again, uh, when I did sweep the league the other night, I did say a guy like Nicole Yokic is considered could be considered generational, but he wasn’t generational coming into the league. It took him a little bit of time. And that’s the thing is I’ve only got two guys that are 100%, no doubt in my mind, generational talent, and that is Kareem Abdul Jabar and Michael Jordan. Now, the other part of my post that I made was I have players that I would consider generational. There just a couple of little things here and there that on my list, I just can’t really put them at 100% at. Victor is, you know, he’s come in, he’s put up numbers. the the comment was made, well, no player has ever had these stats for the first in their rookie season, which again, there’s technicalities. If you throw in the three-point percentage, okay, but, you know, David had better stats here. You know, they it’s so it’s so wishy-washed. But no, as of right now, I don’t consider him generational. But can that turn around at the end of the year? At the end of career, definitely. I think any player can be generational, but you don’t know until their career is over a lot of times. And with that being said, let’s read the lock on Spurs fan comment. So, uh, shocker. Yeah, everybody disagree with you. So, I got it right here. Let me read it real fast here. This is from just 10 bone one. So, cool. Good. Or just Yeah, just 10 bone one. He says, “This guy, Mr. Compost says Wimby is not generational talent. This dude, Mr. Compost, he has no words for you. He has no words for you. Uh Rudy, let me see I find another one here for you. Um Rudy, here you’re doubling down. How can you compare David Ramison’s rookie year at the age of 24 to Wimy’s at the age of 1920? It’s just not a straightup comparison. This is from uh Fluffhead 23, by the way. Uh let’s keep it going. Keep it going. Keep it going. Um let me hit on I locked it here. Let me go get it. Here we go. It’s not just a straight up comparison. There is some nuance that Rudy is not taking into account. So Rudy, there you have it. So you have one guy uh just has no words for what you have to say. Then you have fluff 23 saying you can’t compare Wimby to a guy like David Robinson. You can’t. What do you have to say to those? So you cannot compare David Robinson to Victor Romanyama. Yeah. Victor came in at 19. Yeah. Robinson was drafted and waited two years before he could come in. So technically 22 was when he would come into the league. But I mean now let’s throw this out there. How many high schoolers were actually jumping to the league at the time? Victor’s technically a high schooler. Yeah, he was. Yeah. Moses Malone was what the first the one high school you could think of at the time that came in after that. I mean what Kevin Garnett was the next high school come out. Well, it was around the Kobe the Kevin Garnett era. So I I mean players were going to college during that time. They were going getting their four years or three years in college before coming into the league. So to me that just kind of washes everything, you know. Well, a 19-year-old David Robinson coming into the league at the time, you know, could he have dominated? I have no idea. Players weren’t doing that at the time. Yeah. So, that kind of is null and void there. You’re trying to compare generations to generations, you know, time frame to time frame. That to me, that’s just null and void. I don’t care about that right there. You want to talk stats, the first year stats in a let’s let’s let’s make people even more mad, Jeff. Okay. a first year David Robinson rookie stat played against better centers. And if you disagree with me on that, that’s kind of bad. I mean, come on, man. But I’m not I’m not That was the era that was the era of the era of I mean that was the era of sinners. So Dream Euing, Morning Shaq. Well, I mean at the time you’re talking like Hakee, you’re talking Patrick Euin. I mean the the list was going on. So, I’m not crapping on Wimby. That’s the thing is that people think I’m crapping on Wimby and oh, I’m not I’m a hater. I’m not a He could be generational. But comparing stats to stats, Robinson was 24. Your Victor’s 19. Yeah. Again, it’s two different generations. And again, if you think he’s generational, I applaud you. I I’m not going to argue with you on that. I never will. He’s fired up right now. Yeah. I mean, I’m not going to argue with anybody if they think he’s generational, but you can’t convince me. You can’t come under my page and convince me that I have to change my stance on it. I don’t have to do anything and I’m not going to do anything till the very end of his career. So, you need to see what is it going to take for you to say, “Okay, Wimy’s generational.” Like, what is that moment looking like? Okay. So, is it to multiple titles? Is that the only way? Multiple titles? No. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. So, let me So, let me see. This is no fault at Wimies, and I’m going to I’m going to put the disclaimer. This is at no fault to Wimi, but when you’re generational, it’s the turn of a franchise that I really look at. Robinson came in at a plus what 33 win, you know, turnaround. Timmy, obviously Timmy came in and a lot of people don’t consider that as a massive turnaround because David was injured. He came in, you know, it was a really big team. So I I don’t look at that, but I look at the wins. Now, Victor and the team plus 12 his second year. That that’s a turnaround. People don’t look at that as a great turnaround. For me, that’s a turnaround. And again, it’s it’s the winning. Can you get to the next step? Can you put the Spurs on your back and get him back into the playoffs and stay in the playoffs or minimum stay in the play in where you have a chance, right, to get into the playoffs? Now you start talking to see the that part of the aspect that I like to see when it comes to generational talents, keeping your team on your back and leading them into the playoffs. I’ve got so big of a list when it comes to generational. There’s only reason why I’ve got two guys that I’ve ever considered hands down generational guys and we’ve seen magnificent players in the NBA. We’ve seen a ton of them and I just don’t have, you know, the stamp on every single one of them. I’ve got, you know, the gen stamp where it’s half generational, half not. I have reasons why, but there’s really nothing I can see. He scores the ball. He blocks at an all-time rate. You know, he can pass. He can dribble. He can do all the stuff that everybody tells me he can do. But it never comes, it comes back to the one thing. Why is he generational? What makes him He’s generational for you? Because maybe you felt like you’ve never seen it before in a lot of aspects. I’ve seen it before. I’ve seen sevenfooters make three-pointers at an alarming rate. Now, they haven’t been 74, but yeah, they have been sevenfooters. I’ve seen seven foot three guys block shots consistently. What wasn’t Manu Bowl a three-point shooter? Well, I mean, he could shoot the rock. He wasn’t a three-point shooter. He could make a few here and there, but um but I mean, again, I it’s not that he’s not generational overall. He’s just not generational to me. So that’s why I’m saying the argument that everybody comes at me about, well, you don’t consider him generational. Why should I have to? I mean, yeah, it’s a it’s an option. It’s an opinion. It’s Yeah, you I get you. I hear you. I hear you. I hear you. I hear you. I know. I I get what you’re saying. This is your opinion. And if somebody else thinks that Wimi is generational, then that is their opinion. But you’re trying to get to those people like team generational Wimi. Okay, fine. But why? You know, I hear Yeah. You want to know why? Yeah. And shout out to Apollo at Apollo 243. He’s He came the one came to me on X and I think it was one of the guys that left a comment on YouTube. Yeah, it was too. Yeah. Made a comment and I I commented back, but one thing that locked on Spurs will note. You can come at me on YouTube. You can come at me on X. Jeff knows I’m not going to make you look dumb. I’m not gonna I’m not gonna make you look like you don’t know basketball or anything. I’m gonna basically ask you the one question I ask everybody. Why? And if you give me some great reasons and great stats and everything, conversation over, I pat you on your back, we high five, and we go about our business. And that’s the way it works for everybody with me. I don’t Your opinion is your opinion. I’m not going to convince you. I’m not going to convince Jeff that, you know, the Gobots are better than Transformers. I mean, I’m not going to do that. He knows that they’re not, but I’m not going to convince him that I like the gobacks. So, I mean, it’s opinionated. You know, everybody really uh was pressed for time for this episode of Loft Spurs, and I was trying my best to get them out of here quick, but this really got him going. Really, it was your fan base that got this whole topic on fire. So, I mean, I know they everybody on X started chiming in. People were even defending you coming at you like whoa whoa whoa you’re coming at our boy Rudy what’s going on here everybody I mean this this topic really caught fire on on YouTube page on on on X I think a good friend of the show Sith Elias I think he even tweeted something like or somebody said like oh like what like I’m not getting cooked today it’s it’s it’s Rudy or something like that it’s very rare that that happens it’s very rare so yeah well there you have it everybody Rudy once again defending his position as he does so eloquently. That’s why he is the generational podcaster here on everybody give me a reason why Rudy is generational. I just I just want to know why why why. So leave the comments on the Lockdown Spurs YouTube page. We’ll read them future episode of Lockdown Spurs. Rudy, we’re talking about sweep the league. What’s going on? You guys are busy from your show to plead the Sith. I mean tell us what’s going on. Yeah. And before I get to that, if I wasn’t a Spurs fan, Jeff, it would say Chumps again behind me, not Champs again, obviously. So, um, as far as Sweep the League goes, last time I was on, before I got cooked, I said, “Hey, you know, we’re launching a whole new network.” And again, I’m making a bigger announcement now. It’s kind of official. This October or early November, Sweep is getting rebranded. And when I say rebranded, it’s not changing the name. It’s getting a whole new logo. It’s getting a whole new look. Nice. Videos, intros, everything. I mean, it’s been in the works already for a few months. We’ve kind of already sealed the deal with a lot of things. So, uh, more shows are getting added. As we get closer to those months, more shows are going to be added. It’s going to be an entire entertainment type of thing. So, not just sports, but it’s going to live by the motto sports life. Meh, Campos' generational Kareem didn't have any deep playoff runs without Oscar Robinson or Magic Johnson.
