Salary Cap Breakdown – Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic’s salary cap is getting a lot more expensive next season. It’ll be the first year of Jaylen Suggs and France Vagner’s new contract extensions. They’re going from 9 and7 million last season to 35 and $38 million next season. They’ve also just agreed to an extension with Ko Benero, but that won’t come onto the books until the season after next in 2627. It’ll be another $41 million though when it does kick in. But anyways, the Magic also made one of the most shocking and aggressive trades of the off season. They sent Contavius Caldwell Pope, Cole Anthony, and numerous firstround picks and swaps to the Memphis Grizzlies for sharpshooter Desmond Bane. And if all that wasn’t enough, they also gave a new contract to Mo Vagner for about half of what he was making last year. They signed free agent point guard Tus Jones on a very reasonable contract. And then finally they drafted Jace Richardson and Noah Penda with the 25th and 32nd picks. And then they also let go of Caleb Houston declining his fourth year option. So the Magic are now allin with this nucleus of Banero, Vagner, Suggs, and Bane. And we’ll see if they can make any noise in a weekend Eastern Conference this coming season.
After their big trade to acquire Desmond Bane, here’s what the Orlando Magic’s salary cap will look like heading into next season.
