The summer league Sacramento Kings moved to three-0 in summer league after an absolutely dominating performance against the Phoenix Suns. Led again by rookie Nick Clifford with 19 points on seven for eight from the field. Three for three from three, two for two from the free throw line, ultra efficient, three assists, three rebounds, three steals, a block. This guy does it all. The only thing you can critique this guy on is the five turnovers. Those turnovers are from him trying to make things happen and throwing some audacious passes. So, I don’t think there’s really anything to worry about too much with those turnovers. This Kings team just locked up defensively in this game, especially in the second and third quarters where they allowed 11 and 15 points. The four C’s for the Kings especially locked up. Clifford, Crawford, Carter, and Cardwell. Those guys were menaces defensively. Isaiah Crawford in particular had an incredible defensive game. not the biggest offensive game, so we want to see that come around a little bit more, but man, his defense was special. Devin Carter had another just really solid game, 17 points. He had three steals, three assists, two rebounds. Very efficient night for him. Everyone just played really well. Isaac Jones stepped up, sliding into the five position because Maxim Renault was out. Dylan Cardwell also stepped up with Renault out in the backup five position where he had his best all-around game. Was actually able to score in this one. Let’s ignore that airballed free throw. He did swish a free throw which was great. So, a very fun game, especially watching this defense play. And I’m hoping that the Kings can get the W on Wednesday and get to the title

Cardwell’s defense was really fun to watch, yes forget that free throw, but Stevens free throws all together… 🤮. I can see him be a NBA player but not before that gets better. I hope that was a bad performance, or he really locks in on them going into the season to improve there.
