as the basketball world continues to grieve let’s see what’s next for the Indiana Pacers in 2026 After a season where they already overachieved losing your best player is the last thing they needed Their 2026 season can still be as high as a first round exit but as low as being in the lottery The first order of business will probably be to sign Miles Turner back He can hit unrestricted free agency this upcoming offseason Do not let a team overpay for Miles Turner especially after a run like this They need to figure out everything they have in Andrew Nembard and Ben Mathan in 2026 Is he someone who can be a top 10 3D combo guard if he has a bigger offensive workload or will he always be the glue guy impact player this team needs in just a few certain moments during the fourth quarter of important games don’t fall into the temptation of trading TJ McConnell By the deadline his averages will be higher than normal with the absence of Hallebertton and he’ll be an attractive asset Don’t do it Let Hallebertton come back Let Jerase Walker Ben Shepard and Obie Topphen develop more and run it back

  1. Overachiever? Even though the Celtics swept them last year in ECF they played them as tough as any team played against the Celtics. Honestly in the regular season 50 wins was a underachievement. The first 2 months they were below 500 until the roster was healthy and Haliburton finally played like he's capable they struggled. But from December on the only team with a better record was OKC. I think next season they'll be a playoff team but I don't expect another deep run without their PG. Letting Turner walk and staying out of the luxury tax was the right move to possibly add another player to an already deep roster that should be a favorite coming into the 26-27 season. But I'm sure if they finish next year like I expect them to then they'll be forgotten about all over again like they were this season, which might be best for them to keep a chip on the shoulder.
