The Impact of Miles Turner’s Departure on the Indiana Pacers

to the Indiana Pacers like the Pacers are are going to walk around in circles mumbling to themselves, how do we get along without Miles Turner through this entire off season? That process has stopped for whatever period of time it took for Kevin Pritchard to get over Miles Turner signing with the Bucks. He’s over it. Chad Buchanan over it. Rick Harle over it. You don’t need Miles Turner. What you need is a really competent center to do the things athletically necessary at the center position. Stretch five, great, nice to have, but Miles Turner, the baggage that he brought with that just not worth it, tell you the truth. Uh, a legend in his own mind. He does hyper evaluate his importance in the NBA and in the minds of of the Indiana Pacers as an organization and Pacers fans. We’re over it. Done. Enjoy Milwaukee. Milwaukee fans. Enjoy Miles. Have a great time. Um, and the Pacers screwed nothing up. Herb Simon is frugal. That’s fair. Cheap? No. What the Pacers did was move on from a personality here. Here’s what Miles Turner said. He said that he sent a text when the news broke about his agreeing to the signing because he didn’t want his guys to hear it, his former teammates to hear it via social media. Okay, that’s fine. He said a couple of guys responded. That kind of silence in a response, according to Miles Turner, that is uh that is not the way these guys operate too terribly often. It speaks volumes about the level of respect or lack thereof from teammates for Miles and and good for Miles. You know what? $107 million over four years. It’s going to spend nights and it’s going to put Miles Turner in a position to do exactly what he wants with his life and that’s start his own business, be the CEO and run it. And that’s great. I think he’s going to do a good job at that. I think he can do that. And this money is going to uh aggregate with 140 he’s already made to about a quarter of a billion dollars. And after taxes, that money is going to be able to be applied to that venture. And that’s wonderful. Good for him. There’s nothing personal between the city of Indianapolis and Miles Turner. Pacers fans, nobody’s going to hate. I don’t hate Miles Turner. I got nothing personal against the guy. I want him to succeed. I want him to succeed Milwaukee. I just knew that the Pacers aren’t going to succeed or wouldn’t succeed with him

  1. I saw you in Kroger's and was going to ask you how you personally felt. Welp, I can tell now lol! Good analysis 👍🏽 but I don't think he brings a lot of baggage

  2. Myles Turner did nothing at an elite level consistently. He was good at things in spurts and that doesn't equate to $108.9 million over four years. I think people that are up in arms over him leaving or being able to leave (which seem to be few and far between) are the type of people that just feel the sense of loss when people leave in general. Myles can be replaced by committee and possibly by a single player already on the team at this point.

  3. Myles has good energy for some games and not much interest in many many games. Regressed the past 2-3 seasons. Myles got paid. He will have new found ambition for a while.

  4. Kent, you gotta stop shading Miles Turner and calling "him" childish for criticizing the Pacers when you're doing the exact same thing yourself to Turner.
