The Raptors Dodged a MASSIVE Bullet…
The Toronto Raptors dodged a massive bullet this off season as reports came out all over the place that Messiah Jerry was trying to land a big fish this year’s off season due to the pressure put on him by this ownership group which inevitably fired him. But this latest update would have been disastrous for the future of the Toronto Raptors and frankly it would have also been bad in the short term. So we’re going to break down what this latest leaked trade offer from the Toronto Raptors was. why it was made, why it was declined, and how the Toronto Raptors got very, very lucky in this situation, and if this is signs for things to come for the future of this Toronto Raptors team. So, lots of stuff to really dive into, sink our teeth into in this video. But folks, I can’t thank you guys enough for all the support we’ve been getting as of late. We are very, very close to that 39,000 subscriber milestone and then, you know, the big one of 40K. So, if you are enjoying the daily Toronto Raptors updates and want to stay up to date with everything that’s going on, hit that subscribe button down below. It’s free and will make sure you don’t miss any single update regarding this Toronto Raptor team, including these uh scary updates in terms of moves that almost, you know, crippled the franchise moving forward to the future. So, what’s going on? What are these latest updates? because we saw all the reports at the start of summer about Brian Winhorse saying, “Hey, the Raptors are a team that’s starting to make noise within the league about a big fish.” And then beyond that point, you know, be by behind all the animations, the graphics, the the fun little memes, and everything that was coming out, the Toronto Raptors subsequently got linked to pretty well every player out there in the NBA for a two-eek stretch. Whether it was Kevin Durant, whether it was John Morant, whether it was Sabonis, whether whoever the heck was out there that averaged a few points per game, the Toronto Raptors ended up getting linked to them at the start of this offseason, including Giannis, all these different players. So, why was that the case? What was going on? Well, there was a lot of pressure on Messiah Jerry to get a big tray, get a big deal done in order to keep his job essentially. and he couldn’t get a deal done which ended up leading him to uh you know getting fired getting parted ways whatever diction whatever vocabulary you want to lose uh the the ownership group parted ways with Messiah Jerry so that is what it is but how desperate did this situation get and that’s the big question a lot of Raptors fans really had because yo we take a look at all the reports we take a look at everything and one of the big ones was there were reports that the Toronto Raptors offered the ninth overall pick for Derek White I’m told That’s true, but that that happened a month and a half ago after the Jason Tatum injury and Boston laughed at that offer and said, “No, we need way more than the number nine pick for Derek White.” So, this is something that isn’t new news. This isn’t something that came out. There was a lot of back and forth in terms of whether or not this was a valuable move for the Toronto Raptors because box score-wise, Derek White isn’t uh, you know, number one pick and then of course the assets that would have had to been attached to it like an RJ Barrett. Some people look at that, especially at 31 years old, does this make a ton of sense? Of course, he’s a very amazing defender, great role player, can knock down the three-point shot at elite rate, 38%, 43% of quarter threes, 16, five, and five. Derrick White is a very good basketball player. I think one for one certainly for the number nine pick, it would uh be a straightup good move. And even though I’ve been on the, you know, keep RJ bandwagon without a doubt, I want to see how this team looks. with RJ Barrett in the starting lineup next season. I can see how this would be a reasonable move for the Toronto Raptors and making a trade for RJ Derrick White uh for the number I pick. Would I have been super happy about it? Probably not. But I I get it. You know, I’m not going to come out here and say, “Oh, the Toronto Raptors just threw away the future of their franchise or something along those lines.” If they make that move, I think in the short term that’s valuable. Longterm, you know, there’s question marks about it, but that is neither here nor there because that didn’t happen. and the Raptors got quote laughed out the gym or whatever from Brad Stevens when that move was offered. So, what are we talking about here and why is Drew Holiday in the thumbnail of this video? Well, this is where things that just came out just leaked that uh you came out. So apparently from Jake Fischer, he came out and said the Raptors offered the Celtics the ninth pick in the NBA draft for Drew Holiday. And the Celtics decide to take the Trailblazers offer instead, which is genuinely one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen in my life. And this is not because Drew Holiday is bad. In fact, Drew Holidayiday is a phenomenal basketball player. Do not take this the wrong way. Don’t say if we inserted Drew Holiday into this team that he would be bad. would be a bad, you know, like especially Pride Drew Holiday. Absolute beast, Phenom. Great great stuff. You know, maybe if Emanuel Quickley’s contract was attached to this rather than RJ Barretts, there’s uh more of an argument to be had in regards to this this deal, this move. And you know, I don’t imagine RJ Barrett was the the player attached to this. But the number nine overall pick, which ended up becoming CMBB, right, which ended up becoming a guy that I am very, very excited about his defensive upside potential, all that stuff for a young team. Giving up a lottery pick like that, a loaded NBA draft class is just a massive, massive risk. But what’s going on with this? What’s going on with this here? Because the Boston Celtics ended up agreeing to a deal that uh brought back Trailblazers point guard Anthony Simons and two second round picks. What this screams to me is that uh you know this was an offer of Emanuel Quickley and the ninth pick rather than RJ Bear just because Emanuel Quickley’s contract is longer. It’s bigger and the Toronto Raptors basically just wanted to get a bigger name and got Drew Holiday to run their point guard spot even though he’s more naturally too out there in recent seasons. So that’s a less bad and you know would have the the movement folks you know like myself happier this move happened. Again, this is RJ Barrett in this trade package and that would have been way more worse, way bad uh like really bad for this franchise, for this organization. So, that’s the real reason I think this deal was declined. But, and you know, I I’m an RJ like I I’m I believe Emanuel Quickley is very undervalued, but the Celtics ended up going this direction. They didn’t even get the two second round picks because Drew Holiday ended up being crazy injured. And that’s the first thing that would have been a disaster class of this move. and Edward Rogers, whoever forced this package, whether its side, whether it was Bobby Webster, tried to get this going. Drew Holiday has, you know, very bad injury uh physical. So, that led to this deal uh the two second round picks essentially being plugged plugged away from this uh this package from this move. So, that’s the first thing that the Raptors dodge a major bull on that front. But, I think a lot of people don’t understand what contract Drew Holiday has, how this is looking. I mean, for the next few seasons, so the next three years, Drew Ald is getting paid 32 million, 34 million, 37 million. That is way more money than an RJ Barrett contract is right now. So that’s why I think it’s the Emanuel Quickley deal that made more sense in terms of that deal actually happening. It’s a longer contract. The Boston Celtics were capruck, so that’s why this deal didn’t end up going down. But realistically, you know, Drew is a great defender and stuff like that. The guy only averaged 11 points per game, four rebounds, and four assists last year. He’s 35 years old, 6’4, 35% from the three-point line, only 30% from the corners. Like again, I love that the Toronto Raptors are getting in their defensive dog era. Drew Holiday in his prime would exactly fit that. But at 35 years old, giving up a number nine pick. And you know, regardless what you want to say about Emanuel Quickley, heck, even RJ Barrett’s contract, giving up all that for Drew Holiday would have been a disaster class move for this organization. It wouldn’t have been smart. It would have been right. it wouldn’t have been savvy and frankly I’m very very happy that the cap situation regards the Boston Celtics ended up having them decline this trade package very much a lucky fluky move the Raptors went in but now this raises the question what’s the philosophy of the Toronto Raptors going to be moving forward because Messiah Jerry was put in a very very tough spot to make a big splash to make a big move in order to keep his job for this season but is this what uh you know once we get a new president of basketball operations is this what Edward Rogers is this what the organizer is going to be forcing the Toronto Raptors to do. Is this what they’re they’re going to because we saw this trend and maybe this is Messiah, maybe it wasn’t, but as I broke down in a recent video today, Messiah Jerry was the driving force behind grabbing uh Brandon Ingram at this year’s trade deadline. Some people thought it was a little bit too fast, but uh you know, it’s uh it’s Messiah Jerry’s pushing. So, was this Messiah’s idea of just pushing forward this rebuild in order to keep his job and get it faster and all that, or is this, you know, from the top down ownership group forcing the Toronto Raptors to rush into specific moves? Now, I’m happy with the branding room. I thought that was a good judgment, but this Drew Holiday is down the same line of thinking, but just way further off the cliff in terms of how it impacts the Toronto Raptors future. So, I don’t know. It’s a it’s a weird weird situation. Weird weird thing to deal with. We’ll keep you posted in terms of how this Raptors team is going to be negotiating, what leaks, what updates are coming out in the future. Let me know in the comment section down below what you guys think. Anyways, you guys are best. Hit that subscribe button. I’m signing out. Cheers.

Ayeeeee
The Raptors actually offered RJ along with the 9th pick for Jrue Holiday. It's clear right now that RJ isn't highly valued by many front offices around the league, including the Raptors front office, as they initially offered Barrett for Ingram before pivoting to trade Brown and Olynyk.
Jrue holiday would’ve been great on our team. A point guard that actually plays defence.
Jrue Holiday WAS a very good basketball player. He is gonna be washed by the end of this year.
I've always been a big fan of Jrue, but he's at the age that most guards really fall off.
Can we just please stop undervaluing our current players? I think either Barret and #9 or Quickley and #9, or just straight up player for player for an overpaid 35 year old would have indeed been a disaster. Just stop already geez.
I don’t believe any of these rumours to be honest. Most of them couldn’t even happen because they violate the CBA. Also, a cucumber has more of an inside track with the Raptors than Jake does. both of these discussed make no sense. Next topic.
Massi traded Lowry – Knicks reversed it, he's done some bad trades.
Please don't show that pos thumb of a human ed rogers in the thumbnail
Derrick is being overvalued by boston …not a star never will be
This trade offers speaks to the Front Office interest in moving on from RJ and IQ. At this point the only team that may still be in the market is the Bulls
Too much speculation
Why is everyone assuming it’s the front office?? More likely Masi desperate to keep his jobMaybe he got let go because he was setting up stupid trades risking raptors future?? Stop saying front office when it was Masi trying to make these stupid trades.
I'm calling bs on that trade rumor we don't have the cap space for that trade to even make sense and you guys said Siakam was too old so why on earth would we be linked to Happy Hanukkah? Now if you said we offered RJ Barrett and Quickley and the 9th pick for derrick white and Jrue Holiday I may have believed you.
Hi…? WDYM, please? Years and yeeeears ago, Rogers didn’t like the Masai hire so, when he (Rogers) took majority ownership, we knew that it was just a matter of time—that Masai’s days were numbered. …What are you talking about?
Just quickly for Holliday straight up would have been a disaster.
I dunno if I buy this rumor
All these rumours make the Raptors look desperate. And I’m afraid this is Ed Rogers putting pressure on the front office to win now, but the problem is by trying to win now, or raising the floor, you’re also lowering the ceiling. And the thing the Raptors need to do more than anything is raise the ceiling because at this point they’re built to be a 2nd round team and that’s it.
Dude, think about what you’re saying. The Celtics said no to a better player than Simons, and a top 10 draft pick for Simons and 2 2nds? In what universe would that ever happen. Don’t be dumb.
Not real
Jrue and Dame onda same team now
no news from this channel has ever happened..all speculations
Are you insane? RJ is a centre piece. As a toss in for Derrick White? I gotta leave right now. Sorry bro, but you are clueless,
This is crazier. How did so manypeople forget how good he is? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY2SilkrV24
Ed Rogers is a shitty nepo baby.
There is a reason why teams dont want RJ regardless of his decent contract he's ball dominant and is streaky. Again his numbers are significantly higher last season because everyone else was injured . The raptors are in a win now mindset that's why Jrue made sense at this present time. ingram only has 2-3 years with us which is the same window as Jrue.
Rogers put serious pressure on Masai to land a big-name star in order to justify keeping his role as Raptors president. But Masai didn’t take the bait. Instead, he deliberately tanked those efforts, knowing that chasing a short-term fix wasn’t the answer. He sacrificed his own job security to prioritize the long-term future of the team—securing the #9 pick to get Collin Murray, and holding onto RJ and Quickley. Masai knew that standing firm and resisting the pressure would ultimately be the best move for the Raptors’ future.
I'm not really sure if he not gonna like about the toronto raptors even if he doesn't like staying with the Portland trail blazers
Jrue would of been huge upgrade
