Miami Heat TRADE Terry Rozier To The Boston Celtics? | NBA Trade Rumors

So, could the Miami Heats be trading away Terry Roier to the Boston Celtics this 2025 NBA off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayworld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Miami Heat receiving Anthony Simons and the Boston Celtics receiving Terry Roier and a 2027 second round pick swap. So, my immediate thoughts on this deal is that it doesn’t really make a lot of sense for either team. Like, I guess more so for the Heat because the Heat would be getting back a younger asset in the for Manfred Simons. Maybe this leads to them uh considering a trade for Tyler Hero down the road. So, by replacing, I guess adding to their back court in the fore Simons. Maybe this makes someone like Tyler Herro more expendable and perhaps a larger trade. So maybe this is where someone like a John Moran comes into play or someone else out there that could potentially be unhappy in their current situation. So I think Anthony Simons makes a lot of sense for the Heat to consider especially because Terry Roshier is a player that they have been shopping for quite some time now. The uh the Heat want to make some changes to the team. They want to get back to the playoffs next year. Hopefully be a bit of a threat in the relative wide open Eastern Conference next year. So we saw them acquire Norman Powell. That was a pretty good trade for them. And if they’re able to flip, you know, an older player in Terry Roier for a younger talent in his prime in Anthony Zimman. And that’s pretty much what the trade is, a one for one with a second round pick swap. That’s some pretty awesome uh work uh from the Heat’s perspective. Now, from Boston’s perspective, Terry Roier is a nice player. Um it would definitely uh be a good player to add. They know the player well, so this could make some sense there. But realistically speaking, does this move the needle for me? No. Does this make a lot of sense? No. I think if they’re going to get rid of Anthony Simons to clear up his cap space, you want to at least get back an expiring contract in return, which is fair. But also too, some draft capital, like if you’re able to get back a first round draft pick, even if it’s a first round pick swap or whatever, that’s better than nothing in my opinion. And this would be a pretty good move for the Celtics to make in order to uh hopefully retool this year. Use those assets to hopefully make a trade in the future. Then when T comes back from his injury, they’re once again a championship caliber team, which of course they won’t be next year. So, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with the Heats. If they’re able to get back a little bit more, I’d probably go with Boston. But truthfully speaking, it’s not quite enough in regards to draft capital. So, for those reasons, I’m going with the Heat. Leave your thoughts.
