This Has Knicks Fans VERY Concerned…
A new insider report has New York Knicks fans very concerned about head coach Mike Brown’s plans as there is already a split between Mike Brown and the head coach in regards to the New York Knicks lineups and rotations and how to go about this season and we’re going to break all that down. What’s up guys? Welcome back to Nick’s Digest. It’s Chris here. We’re going to jump right into things. As always, if you guys are part of that 67% that’s not subscribed to Nick’s Digest, we got daily videos like this. You do not want to miss out on all the great content that we got coming at you every single day, at least twice a day. So, let’s have a bunch of fun. Let’s talk about the New York Knicks and let’s jump into the video because when Mike Brown was hired as the head coach of the New York Knicks, one of the big things that the Knicks front office was looking for was collaboration with the front office. Tom Tibido did not do that. He was not very collaborative with the Knicks front office. And basically, even though they would tell him to do stuff sometimes, well, he would not listen and he would say, “No, it’s my team. I’m the head coach of it and I’m going to decide what’s best for the team. The Knicks front office did not like that very much as they wanted a bigger say in who the New York Knicks play in certain lineups, who gets minutes, who doesn’t get minutes. The Knicks brass, Leon Rose, William Wesley, they wanted more of a say in which guys belonged on the court when the Knicks are known for having the largest analytics department in the NBA. and they’re backing off the analytics and also or they’re being backed by the analytics, the front office is while Tom Tibido was a guy who was not big on the analytics of it all. Mike Brown is more into that stuff considering his time at the Golden State Warriors as well who were big on it. But the Knicks, they wanted to run a certain way and Tom Tibido was not agreeing with that. So when they put out the offer, it was known that they wanted collaboration with the front office so they could have more say on stuff in regards to coaching. Mike Brown said he was looking forwards to working with Leon and collaborating with them. He literally used the word collaborating to show that he was going to be working with him. However, there’s already a split between these two parties and Knicks fans definitely are not going to love the sound of all this. Now, in a new report revealed by Knicks insider Ian Begley. Shout out Begley for being the best. He did mention that based on Mike Brown’s lineups last season in Sacramento, you’d think that he plays Carl Anthony Towns at center and brings Mitchell Robinson off the bench. His two mostused lineups last season in Sacramento featured Damonte Sabonis at center alongside the 6’6 Kean Murray. But it’s worth noting that during free agency, during the free agency process, the Knicks valued Gershan Yabosel’s versatility off the bench behind a strong starting lineup featuring Towns and Robinson. Yaboseli was signed before Brown was hired and obviously the new head coach will ultimately decide the starting lineup and rotation for New York. But the fact that the Knicks factored in Yabasale’s role behind a starting lineup featuring Towns and Robinson tells you that there is some internal support for that starting five, even if it’s not Mike Brown’s favorite. And that is going to cause a bit of a schism. Now, if you ask most Knicks fans, there’s a there’s three guy. Well, we know four of the starting five, and one of them’s in this photo in Carl Anthony Towns. The other guaranteed starters are obviously Jaylen Brunson and then Ojanobi and Muel Bridges. After that, there’s three guys you could put in there. One of them’s in this photo and Mitchell Robinson. He’s probably the favorite among Knicks fans. I would say around 75% of Knicks fans would vote for that. I would say 25, maybe 24% of Knicks fans would vote for Deuce McBride in the starting lineup. and then maybe 1% or less would vote for last year’s starting lineup based off the lack of production that they had together being one of the worst lineups the Knicks had. And I’m not even joking about that. They had one of the worst lineups of any team. I mean, you look at the most used lineup for the Knicks in the playoffs. It was far and away Carl Anthony Towns, OG Anobi, Josh Hart, Michaela Bridges, and Jaylen Brunson. They had a negative net rating. They were not working well together because big men could guard Josh Hart because Josh wasn’t Josh wasn’t shooting threes, creating doubles at the rim for everyone, Towns included, but also Jaylen Brunson getting collapsed on. It was a lineup that feasibly didn’t work because they got figured out. They need to switch things up. That’s known. And one thing that helped tremendously was adding Mitchell Robinson and Carl Anthony Towns or having Mitchell Robinson be added into the lineup next to Carl Anthony Towns where Towns could move the power forward, a position that he’s more comfortable at. Well, Mitchell Robinson gives the Knicks more defense. And if you put a big man on him, yeah, that’s going to obviously be the case. But Mitch is one of the best, if not the best offensive rebounder in the game. This is a man who came off averaging nearly four offensive rebounds per game in the playoffs and he was still working back from an injury. Mitchell Robinson is probably the best offensive rebounder in B. He is the best offensive rebounder in basketball. So, when you look at Mitch, when you look at Towns, it makes perfect sense for these two to play together. For, in case anyone’s just sort of wondering what my opinion is on this, I think these two should start together. I think Josh Hart should come off the bench. I know Yabus Lee is a smaller big. You could learn to stagger the minutes in a fast-paced running transitional offense. I don’t think Mitch is going to be playing the first seven to eight minutes of the game. I think he’ll play the first five to six and play in a bit smaller increments. the way that the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers all used Javale McGee, someone who Mitchell Robinson in a lot of ways is a very similar player to when it comes down to it. Now, obviously, they’re not the exact same player, but they’re both rim running rim protectors who are good offensive rebounders. Mitchell Robinson better than Java McGee, but point still stands. There was this feasible connection that actually worked that you could kind of base the same sort of situation off of it. and Mike Brown who worked with lineups with both the Kings and with the Warriors who Javale was really the only rim protector at points. Those teams had success so it’s able to be done. Now on top of that the Knicks also have Ariel Huckporty. I did not forget that Hucky exists. You could also use Hucky off the bench if you want Garish to be your power forward. 10-man rotation. You got Jordan Clarkson. You got Deuce. Hopefully you get Shamut back. You can get Gishon or you could just use Josh Hart because I completely forgot Josh Hart existed for a second. You can go Clarkson, Deuce, Hart, Gishon, Huckport. It’s a pretty damn good fiveman bench. It’s pretty damn good. So, it could easily work is what I’m saying. Now, the Kings, as Begley said, they used lineups that were smaller ball lineups that would feature towns at the five in comparison, let’s put it, because we see the most used lineup of the year, the Sacramento Kings went to the playoffs under Mike Brown when Mike Brown won coach of the year. They played 900 minutes together because they did play a lot together. That was Harrison Barnes, Damont Sabonis, De’Aran Fox, Kevin Herder, I almost called him Chris Herder. That is why I took that deep inhale. Also, I needed to breathe. But on top of that with them was Keegan Murray who was a rookie at the time and came out guns blazing being an excellent shooter and a solid defender for that team. After that we saw Barnes, Sabonis, Herder, Dave Mitchell and Keegan Murray. So we still saw basically the same except Darren Fox was coming out of the game. Sabonis was playing center in all of these lineups that we see him featured in. He wasn’t next to the Javale McGee or the Chimemenzi Metos of the world ever really. And then when we look in the playoffs again, that starting five that the Kings used, most used lineup in the playoffs, not surprising at all, obviously. But all these other lineups, what we saw was Damont Sabonis really being the only big out there. Well, this was before the double big revolution happened. And now it’s happening. And the Knicks have really the perfect duo to join that revolution and move with it. And I think a Mike Brown offense would work beautifully because the highest percentage of open threes comes off of offensive rebounds. Who do the index have? the best at offensive rebounds and also Towns and Mitchell Robinson undoubtedly the best offensive rebounding duo in basketball by a country mile. So there’s a lot to like about this whole situation. We continue to look we look into last year from the stretch that Mike Brown was coaching. We saw the most used lineup featured Sabonis as the only big man. We saw the second most used lineup feature Sabonis as the only big man. The third mostused lineup, the fourth mostused lineup, the fifth, the sixth, the seventh, the eighth. Do you want to guess who was the only big man on the court? Sabonis, in case you couldn’t understand, unless you weren’t getting it. So, what I’m saying is despite the fact that Sabonis in some ways definitely is more of a center than Carl Anthony Towns because the lack of shooting thing and he’s a bet he’s a better defender, there is a world that we’re going to see Towns play that spot. Now, again, Sabonis and Towns are different players. I’m not saying they’re not. Sabonis is a guy who put up 19 points, 14 rebounds, six assists per game, shooting 59% from the field and 41.7% from three on limited attempts. Only 17.5% of his shots were threes. He works in the mid-range. Well, he works in the post, but he’s a very good player, don’t get me wrong. I think it’s the only time I’ve ever talked about the Montto Sabonis on Nick Digest. I’m actually a big Sabonis fan, so I it’s cool to mention him. But Towns is different. He I mean 28% of his shots are threes and in a Mike Brown offense we could expect that to go up especially if he’s playing that power forward spot putting up 24 and a half points 13 rebounds three assists 52% from the field 42% from three. Also I find it important to mention right now that Carl Anthony Towns is definitely better than Sabonis and that is going to have an impact on things. Just wanted to put that out there real quick but it is the case. So we look at this and we see that Sabonis was the only big man and we understand why Mike Brown feasibly would look to Carl Anthony Towns to play the center despite the lack of rip protection because Sabonis doesn’t add a ton either. We look at the position estimates for Sabonis in OKC. He was more of a power forward year one and then got traded to the Indiana Pacers where he was more of a center for two years but then started playing alongside Miles Turner. made two all-star games mainly as the power foe but also as the second center on the team because they’d sub turner out and keep Sabonis in at the power or at the center or do the vice versa sub Sabonis out and then put him back in as a center sub in for Miles Turner. Obviously Miles Turner is gone from the Pacers. That’s hilarious. But Sabonis was playing half his time at power forward for a bit. Got traded to Sacramento and he played 20% of his minutes at power forward when Mike Brown wasn’t the coach. Mike Brown takes over. Sabonis goes full-time center the entire time. So, there is a clear world where Mike Brown decides to go single big, but because of the double big revolution, I do think there’s a world that he will not do that. Now, we look at Carl Anthony Towns who is mainly a center throughout his entire career outside of the Minnesota Timberwolves netting Rudy Gobear onto the team where Towns moved mainly to power forward. He goes to the Knicks, he moves back to center. But Towns likes being a power forward better. How do you make Towns a power forward? Could you guys guess what image is going to show up? you do this and I think this is a very likely situation that we’re going to see because again we look at these Knicks lineups. What worked the best when Mitch was on the floor for this team. So despite the fact of everything, well not despite the fact of anything with all the fact of all this, Mitch should start. It’s a question on if Mike Brown is going to run this or if he’s going to want to use a five out. And that might not mean Josh Hart. That might mean Deuce, which is a better starting lineup than Josh Hart in there because you got a true five out there. But I think it should be Mitchell Robinson. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments down below. I definitely just figured it was going to be Mitch. The front office likes him. That Mitch that is as a starter. So, we’re going to see what happens. But this is going to be interesting. And also, how the Knicks play through summer league and Ariel Huckport’s production is going to matter as well. Guys, like this video, subscribe, turn on post notifications. I hope you enjoyed these 12 minutes of Knicks basketball. Have a great day and go Nix.

Cannot wait to see you Clowns cry all year long… I hope we end up with the worst record… I hope Brunson demands a trade, I hope injuries derails the season and I hope by mid year, you all be crying for a new coach… 😅
WE GOT TO REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A REBUILD OR AN EXPERIMENT ( THIS IS WIN OR ELSE FOR MIKE BROWN PERIOD)
Mitchy @ 5 Kat @ 4
i think Mitch is overrated i love Knicks but he need to step the f up and be like
Shaquille O'Neal,we need him to step the f up or trade but that is my opinion everyone have a diferent awnser so we see on october
Good thing Mike Brown practices. He can take a good look in what works. Hopefully Mike Brown prove me wrong. I don’t know. I wait and see.
Stop the doom & gloom tactics saying it’s a concern. The coach will do what’s best for us in collaboration with the front office simple as that
You're becoming a hack.
Bro stop being a 🤡 and you wonder why 67% is not subed, there is no rift or anything like that give yourself two thumbs down bro😂, Easter Bunny said take on a trade brunson , 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Bridges will be a better player under Brown.Roberson's IQ will frustrate Brown back to the bench.
Lol
Im unfollowing this clown 🤡
Let the coach be the decision making person not the press, or anyone else.
Bruh
Creating controversy for clicks….cmon bro…we on some positive vibes right now
You said there's '…already a split between Mike Brown and the head coach…'. Did you mean Mike Brown and the Front Office 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I believe there's no "there" there in this post. Thibs killed his starting 5 while I believe MB will expand his bench and MR and KAT will have meaningful minutes
Pacers exposed Mitch for what he truly is yall need to cut this bs exaggerating Mitch worth we always win without him and we struggle to win games with him that’s a fact not opinion
Hakpurti should be the 11th man because the Knicks really need a good SG that can shoot three’s consistently.
👽…Knicks starting 5 = Jb Mb Og Kat Mitch & bench needs Bol Bol to play 2ish-5 off the bench w Clarkson Deuce Jhart…yabusele dadiet kolek shamet* interchangeable as needed…🫨
KAT is not a center!
😂😂
Front office should never interfere with coach managing lineup. That never works. Hire a coach to shares your vision and let him work without interference.
Bring Mitch off the bench if he starts play him the most 17-20 mins a game any more he won't last the season
Love your content but I'm not buying that there's already a problem with Brown. In my mind, these conversations would have been lengthy and also would have already taken place well before Brown was hired. There's a reason the Knicks took their time in finding a new coac and it's because they knew they had to get the hire right for a team that's alreayd a contender
Kat and Mitchell Robinson is strong duo in the court
Add center Moses brown to the roster and pickup Ben Simmons big guard lets go Knicks!!!
Most people couldn’t care less who starts. As long as they win.
I certainly feel that Brown needs to start Towns at power forward and Robinson at Center
I think the starting five should be Brunson, Bridges, OG, KAT and Robinson. A bench of Clarkson, Hart, Yabusele, Duece and we need to sign a solid Wing with this last spot that can come off the bench.
Starters:
Mitch, Towns, OG, McBride, JB
Bench:
Hukporti, Yabu, Hart, Clarkson, Duece
Contingents:
Dadiet, McCullar, Kolek,Nagee, Delon Wright, Diawara (?)
You'd have to convince me that Rose and West want to make coaching decisions. The more plausible answer is they want to be able to offer feedback and suggestions when they think things aren't going well and not be ignored as Thibs was rumored to do in those scenarios.
If kat is more comfortable as a PF why are his numbers worse across the board as a PF compared to C? That seems to be a statement not based in reality. The mitch kat duo struggled mightily against good lineups, they did well when kat was playing with the bench while all the other starters sat, playing against the other teams bench. They didn't do good against starting units.
My Knicks… our Knicks, have no idea what they are doing. Zero. 😅😂
If Mitch starts, then Bridges is our SG. That didnt work last year. Unless we are switching everything. But if you have two 7 footers, I dont think Coach Brown will switch. Meaning once again drop coverage and another year of the worst 3 point defense in the league. What worked the year we were in the top 5 defensively? A quick scrappy 6'4 SG who fought through picks and a center who would hedge and get back to his man, giving our SG just enough time to get back on his man. No one left open and the defense was solid. Last year with Bridges as our SG we were on the bottom at most categories defensively. It starts with the pick and roll defense. You need a quick small defender and a quick footed center. We dont have either. Well Mitch can move his feet faster than Kat but your leaving your 6'7 SF Bridges who is being forced to play as a SG, to guard the best fast guard on the opposing team every night. Then complain when he is so damn tired from chasing all game, because hes not hitting shots. Bridges and OG's strengths are playing the passing lanes and guarding their man straight up. Fighting through picks is a weakness for them and the Knicks have not solved it during the offseason and I do not think Mitch in the lineup solves it either. Yes Mitch in the starting lineup helps guard the paint, but with 2 centers out their not being quick enough to close out on shooters, it's going to be the same shit once again. I still think starting Duece is our best option. He is quick enough to guard faster opposing guards and is in shape where he can fight all game long on defense and still shoot at a high percentage on offense. Also with Duece you have a TRUE 5 out lienup. Hart goes to the bench and we are now 3 players deep at every position once they sign a back up PG.
4:15 they got “fingered” out 😂
Where’s the concern big guy. Don’t make something out of nothing.
