Chicago Bulls vs Utah Jazz Full Game Highlights – July 18, 2025 | NBA Summer League California
[Music] going into training camp. Training camp is around the corner, so this is a great way to leave that last impression with the coaches. Gainy to take the tip. Utah wins it underway. Looking at what they can do to improve their own games even though they’re not playing from a mental standpoint. Jir Young second chance efforts and gets it off the glass coming in off of the 40point game last season in the G- League. Put up 14 a game and the Jazz give it away. Young hunts a three and bullseye. Yeah, he’s he’s feeling it now. You have a player coming off of a 40-point game. A teammate, I’m sure, early on trying to at least see if still as hot as he was the last game as Popular steps into a three. When the other team’s on a run as a young player, how do you stop those runs? This is his moment as the best player and he did that. And that was all by K Harris ability to get inside the paint create confusion for the defense as Cody Williams hits the three. Another guy who has the UNLB connection. AJ Heartless. Second effort slapped from behind. The aggression of Pereira to knock it away. Kamura serves up top. Kamura bounce pass that time. Knocked away. Jazz don’t have numbers. Heartless doesn’t care. gets it off the backboard and a foul. Last year’s GLeague most improved player again used to this building playing at UNLV. There’s a three-pointer straight away. Ring it up. Caleb Grill, you had the speed as a clea guard, but being able to slow down, start up, catch the defense off balance. See how effective that is from players who miss his 23 in the third quarter of that game against the Wizards on Wednesday. Kamura for a three. That one was perfect. Already put put together a productive career in Japan. Well, playing here in Vegas in front of them many. Cody, the offense really stalling in that first quarter. How do you open things up? Just movement, especially cuz they’re sitting in the zone cuz they know they can’t guard us. So, just move the ball, trust one another. You’ve had a really strong summer league. What’s your biggest takeaway from this experience? Uh, just be aggressive. You know, play your game no matter what. Play hard 24/7. Uh there’s always people watching so you know you got something to compete for. Appreciate the time. Thank you. Thank you. That can guard multiple divi uh positions and Cody Williams and Ace Bailey. I mean this is the ideal position that a lot of these GMs are looking at. Pass Hickeyi in transition. Kesler has shown that ability as a member of the Jazz. Yeah. And it’s building blocks, right? We’ve seen OKC do it for years, right? They built market and his impact for the Utah Jazz. I mean, Kyle’s giving you some of that same glimpse of what he can do as a fourman that can stretch, you know, behind the arc, can put the ball on the floor every now and then. That’s that onelegged shot by Eli. One of those players that’s going to make it tough for a lot of defenses because of his ability to shoot and stretch the floor as a stretch five and a stretch four. Let’s continue with Philip Hasky and Bill. as he really took a massive step forward as you were talking about and he credits his summer workouts for that that he had with some of the other young core players and then he had the right approach here at summer league. He understood the value of this 10day showcase and how it could benefit them. It’s an opportunity to work on aspects of your game that you might not be able to regularly in the NBA. And guys were also talking about Walker Kesler shot opportunity for their teammates. Waka blocked the previous shot. Can’t touch that one as it’s off the rim. Settles home with the contact. Bulls still with numbers. Freeman Liberty pick has a three. Kamura hustle. No look again. Are you serious? Just out of his reach. Shining in the final of summer league. That time Kamura’s pass the last few games. Freeman Liberty rings the bell from distance. It’s really fun to see from a smaller guard that’s having an impact right now in the game. While we’re talking smaller guards, as Popppler’s three goes straight through, it doesn’t matter the size of you. It doesn’t matter how much heart you have and you know, you look at guys like Trey Young who who’s led the league in assists time and time again. Freeman Liberty off the screen flings cash. Boy, it doesn’t matter. Every time he’s coming off the pick and roll, he’s looking for his teammates and that’s a great sign of a great point guard. Williams clears out has been showcasing more, but he’s looking great in the minutes he’s getting right now with Young being out. Chris Lewis, Derek Collison, Nel Kareem here with you from the Thomasson Max Center. And Harkas vacuums it in. Uses the inside out crossover to create space. Hit him with an in and out. Use his body for a nice little mid-range shot. Kamura wants three and give him three more. This is where Kawamura shines. The open court serves the lob, but it’s short again. That’s about the fourth layup for Doug that has been blown by the Bulls or else Kawamura stat line would be even more outrageous. Here is Gabam Mura has the bigger tan on him. Takes a break and it’s time. The problem with that is Kar going over you going over the screen on him. He’s going to make the play but that plays like a nice lob by Cody Williams on the pass but a three. Romeo Williams gets it back off the ricochet and lays it in. Maybe one of the games of summer league in the last game for Chicago and his 40 points. But him being injured in the first half now gives Kamura the opportunity for more minutes. Blinding acceleration from Popler. He lays it in his play out of ball screens. And the one player who showed the growth in that especially down the stretch of the season for Chicago is Josh Giddy. Great pass inside and Pereira scoop goes through. they try to to get the leverage is oh try to settle whether it’s him or Kaminga or Cam Thomas Quinton Grimes or fade away off the glass that one goes through as a pick and roll player it builds trust with your coach to put you in more pick and roll scenarios and Josh Giddy has done a great job all season long of dissecting the defense in different pick and roll coverages. Could the Bulls be one of those teams that are the beneficiary of a couple of other teams going through their adversity? That’s a three from Caleb Grill. They already have players that are already established. I mean, Orlando, you know, that a lot of people don’t talk about too as well is already has their core established and they’re going to be looking to make a run. Williams battery touch. Four or five shooters on the court. It’s very hard to guard instead of you just not being able to become a good shooter. And now divases can’t even close out on you because they’re closing out short. I got to ask you, how much extra energy do you get when these fans go so crazy for you showing you so much love? Like it’s amazing. Like I truly appreciate their support. Like I I couldn’t have it without them. Yeah. Uh I feel good. Yeah. Everyone talks about your offense, but I know you’ve been working on your defense with the Chicago coaching staff. Where have you improved the most there? Like defensively, like I just I just want to bring that from defense. Um this is my job. Yeah. Like I got to do that. Thank you very much. Thank you so much. was interesting was what the coaching staff wanted to key in and focus on him. It was the defensive end, right? Being a smaller guard, it’s that seems like it’s a rare thing for a guard like that to be the quarterback defensively. When they’re in the zone, somebody has to get into the paint to be able to make it easier for their teammates. Kamura set back, fires a three, ignites. [Music] 17 points, five for eight from three. Williams on the other end. Bullseye. How fast Kura is playing right now. Six assists for Kamura. Has the ball in his hands again. Zips one into the lane. Roll fouls. That’s what you usually get in summer basketball for sure. There’s a three off the screen. Caleb Grill. Bulls have popped their lead. Back up to 20 points and a rejection inside. Huaka Kamura behind the back is a magician. He is special and a treat to watch right now. Look at that pass. Oh, the pass is contagious. Yes, Mo with the goggles. He’s just making play after play again for his 10th assist. Tolding the Bill at the end of the third. He feels good throughout the course of the game. They kind of let Kar do whatever he wanted on the court. Steps into a three. Oh yeah. But when you got it going, you can do whatever. Grill in the grill. [Music] 20 points, 10 assists for Kamura, who has been the story of this game on a Friday in Vegas. And really the catalyst game, especially in this city, you never know what can happen in point four. And that will do it. The Yuki show ends with the Bulls 10592 win to finish out summer league
