Jeff Teague says Damian Lillard should’ve stayed with Blazers to GET PAID like Devin Booker w/ Suns
All right, man. I wish I was feeling like Deon Booker. I was going to say, boy, we thought Chad Hong had a good day. Show to Deon Booker. Boy, what a hell of a day. Shout out to D book, man. Signed that 2-year $145 million extension with the Suns, man. 72.5, man. Pass SGA 71.25 per year. Become the richest salary ever, man. Contract becomes a total of 5year $316 million. Fellas, how y’all feeling about that, man? Get your paper. Yeah. Stay where you celebrated. Hey, I know the vibes. That’s big, bro. 72 a year. [ __ ] How could you even leave or play with that? You know what I’m saying? So, man, I would have signed a 5year 72. Imagine getting that in one year. Yeah, I’m rolling. Debbook. Debbook is in good hands, man. You straight. He did enough. He took him to the finals. Break every record. Yeah, he took him to the final. Break every record possible, bro. See, that’s what I want Dame to do. That’s exactly what I wanted Dame to do. I’m like just Yeah, just do what he’s doing. I feel it. D been a billionaire. Just keep signing new extension. He didn’t read up a bag in the league. Most definitely. Now listen, man. A lot of people are saying, you know, Deon Booker already went to the finals. Now all he got to do is just be the man of the franchise. Other people like, “But he should go figure out a championship or he should figure out how to get a championship roster.” People are prioritizing that chicken over them championships. Teague is done told y’all. Muk’s done told you. I was trying to understand, man. I mean, they tried. Yeah, they tried, bro. They made it there, bro. They had Kevin Durant and Bradley Bill. They They put a championship quality team around them. They just wasn’t good. Yeah, they they tried, bro. I mean, damn, bro. I’m not turning down 72 million, bro, for no ring, bro. Under no circumstances. It’s the the greatest advice I ever got was from Al Horford. He was like, “My basketball coach from Florida, Billy Donovan, asked me. He was holding out on a contract like going in negotiations. He was like, “As 18, if I told you, hey Al, they’re going to give you $54 million to come play basketball.” What would you said? He’s like, you would have been like, “Bet.” Yeah, [ __ ] They about to give youund what are we talking about? For two years. He like, “What?” I don’t even know what people be thinking. Like, what? I don’t care about no championship, bro. Two years. Well, probably sometimes they be thinking like, “Bro, I got enough money.” This generation, maybe. But I’m saying they probably thinking like, “Shit, I managed my money well. I’m always had some, you know, I mean, some He didn’t made some decent money already.” Oh, yeah. So, if he would have left, we would have been like, “Boy, that boy, he must got some L [ __ ] planned cuz leaving this on the table is crazy.” But people do that all the time. You got paper, bro. But it’s hard to turn that down, bro. I’m I’m going to tell you like I told Paul George the time when he turned down the deal from the Pacers. Yeah. Like what are you playing for? Yeah. He like I want to win. Yeah. Okay. He see how that work. You still ain’t won. Yeah. Low low key career in Denver got worse on low. He went to OKC and killed though. Yeah, he did. He did. It was top five. But I’m saying how how he thinking of it now is I could have been here been a god. Bro, he could have been greater than Reggie Miller. He would have never he might have been playing with Tyrese. Yeah, cuz [ __ ] you ain’t won the championship anyway. It’s a lot of benefits staying on one team, bro. Bro, he could have been the greatest pacer ever, bro. Especially this money moving now. Yeah. They give you the world now. Yeah. Especially way he was talking on the pile recently. I think it was Jim Jackson. Correct me if I’m wrong. He was just like, “Man, you know what I’m I’ve been a couple places, but regardless of what happened, Indiana treated me well. You look at Stephen Jackson who came back here and got, you know what I’m saying, surgery. Prayers up for Stack Jack. He was just like, you know what I’m saying? Go say Indiana treated me well. When you go to them places and you don’t have a home to go back to like you talk about, it’s different, bro. Yeah. That’s why I always talk about Atlanta, just because the way they treated me, that’s my home. Like even though I had to leave or whatever it was, but I’m always welcome back. Like you seen, we did a pod there. It’s always love. But he could have been the greatest pacer ever. Yeah, that is a fact. Like think about what year is this for Paul George? 16, 15, 16. Yeah. He would have still been here. Yeah. And I know, dude. Well, he’d have been a gazillionaire, man. What? Max, Max, Max, Max, Max. No question about it. And not even saying he still got Max, but just imagine if y’all had he probably been healthier. I ain’t going to lie. the the Pacers did uh they got one of the best staffs ever when it come to that. But he probably been healthier. He’d have been at home. It would have been normal for him. Everything. Yeah. I probably would have still got Tyrese. Mhm. He wouldn’t receive none of all this slander he been getting. Never. Yeah. Yeah. Cuz y’all traded for Tyrese. So [ __ ] y’all probably would have had him. We would have like Pacers would have rolled out. We would have been Reggie Miller. Reggie Miller never got slander here. Never. It don’t matter what year it was. That damn dunk he ain’t taking. I mean, we still forgot. We forgave him for that. Yeah. Yeah. Still still smoke with Taan for that to this day cuz whatever he did when he killed the New Jersey Nets when he had that little run two head through the lane. Never forget boys. Boys forgave him after that. That duck right there forgave Reggie. Like what? I don’t think we won the series, do we? Forgave him. That’s Reggie, bro. Forgive me. Legend of the city for sure. But we talk about all these legends, man. I think the media plays a part in the whole championship conversation because it gave us a lot of feel to talk about first take all those other shows to diminish players. When we look at people like James Harden example who getting another crazy bag, he is a legend. I don’t care if James Harden don’t win a championship. I don’t care about none of his playoff performances, bro. He’s then are going to make $500 million in basketball. Bro, that is a legend. You won, bro. For sure a legend. You won. Like I wish he would have never left Houston. Like I would like him to just shatter all the records. Like even though he went to the Clippers and survived, he had the crib, whatever. I love James Harden in Houston. Yeah, that was a different different animal. I love it. I don’t care what happens to Albertson. We going to always look at all I legend. I don’t care about that ring, bro. That’s a All these people would have stayed if it wasn’t for this ring coach now. Is he a lifetime Adidas athlete now or James? Yeah, think so. I would imagine he going to be one. I think that contract is up in a couple years. I imagine they make low going to clear a billion from basketball. Yes. And his shoes is raw though. Shoes is fire. Especially last couple years they be going crazy for show man. Shout out to the team over there at Adidas. They be cooking up and his like promotion for it. Like he go all in for his he get whips and everything to match his shoes and [ __ ] Mhm. That’s a lot of money. You got that bread. But my feeling chicken bro. Yeah. And we talked about this like with Chris Paul know saying possibly entering his last year speculation that he might go back to the Clippers. People like he should go to a team that’s probably going to get to a championship. Bro, why? Go end out the way you supposed to, bro. I mean, the way you want to. Yeah. If he feel like the Clippers is his team that he gonna be remembered for it or he might get his jersey retired with, I say go there. I don’t know. You think he’ll get his jersey retired from the Clippers? They should. They should. Yeah. Come on, man. They had a good run with them. They would be crazy if they didn’t, bro. They had a good run with They would be crazy if they didn’t. He might be. Yeah, he he did. He had a good run with Clippers. I was trying to think of his best stop. Who’s a better Clipper than him? Trying to think. You probably got to go back in the days. But but Blake, I’m talking about recently. Yeah, Blake was better. Yeah, I [ __ ] with Blake, but I think if you ask a lot of Clippers fans that they gonna probably say Chris Paul, he got to be a top three. Nah, I mean it ain’t that many Clippers. That’s what I’m saying. For sure. He’s definitely up there. So if they retire, ain’t no big issue. Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. But like he not better than like Kawhai now. N hell no. But he he put in more work than Kawhai for the Clippers. Yeah, Chris Paul got to be one, bro. He He I mean, he was probably I think he got the longest tenure there, right? Yeah. And they was a 50- win team for a majority of time. Oh, if you going Okay. Yeah. If you going off that longest How long was he in How long was he in LA? He arrived in December 2011. Yeah. Chris Paul was there to what? To Houston. Seven maybe, maybe eight. Yeah. I hate that he went to Houston, too.
Jeff Teague, DJ Wells, Mook, and B Hen give their take on Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker and his new, NBA-record contract extension of $145 million for two years. Booker’s new annual salary is officially the highest in the NBA, and Teague believes that future Hall Of Fame point guard Damian Lillard should’ve done the exact same thing as Book and stayed with the Portland Trail Blazers instead of going to the Milwaukee Bucks! Jeff talks about winning a championship vs. getting paid, and why players like Dame and Paul George missed out on huge pay days chasing rings.

Tell PG go back to Indy 👀 it really be perfect place to finish his career and they contenders
Don’t speak on Paul George best Indian pacer IN HISTORY
Teauge these takes getting bad gang
He not worth the money bro
Many Media knuckle heads like Stephen A and Perkins and others kept stirring up the pot to get Dame to Leave PDX and so he did and how did that help him win a Ring. Ring culture is destroying NBA. Dame made a lot of money from his PDX contract that Milwaukie get to pay for the next 5 years, so Dame got paid, but no closer to a ring.
1:50 that exactly was the advice?
I woul'd let Booker walk. He ain't worth even half of 70 Millions per year.
Definitely that same roster with lillard could make the play in they was prolly 5 games outta of it
Teague : idc about no championship
Kobe : is mission complete
Don’t speak on Kobe no more bro you not worthy
Best 2 way player ever even studied Hakeem Dennis Rodman Gary Payton Jordan
People are so fake nowadays. Media is fake. Players are fake. Fans are ultra fake and lame. It’s just fake. 🤷🏽♂️
Crazy money for Book but damn they haven’t won shit with him…I have to say it’s not about winning it’s about the owners putting butts in seats ,sponsors,Ect.ect…Suns ain’t winning nothing but they making a lot of money as a franchise…
Shocking Dame got bought out because they wanted him off the books for tax reasons..ect.ect…Don’t feel sorry for him he is not hurting..Portland still paying him millions..Bucks owe him 113 million..and unlike most of us were working long hrs to make it..he’s not..probably in Costa Rica on a long vacation..😮😮😮😅😅😅
And Booker will be the next dame and Beal. We told them to move on they were loyal to crummy franchises lol oh well. hit free agency and have control of your future unless you believe in the front office or your team.
BRO I SWEAR WE WENT FROM TRYING TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS TO NOW THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS THE BAG..YALL WORSE THAN STRIPPERS ATP BRO YALL DONT EVEN TALK ABOUT TITLES NM
I GUESS THATS A COPE MECHANISM
Booker know he not gone win a ring that’s why he took the money
teague woulda signed a 5 year 7.2
My take about Dame not leaving Portland is this Dame didn't want to leave because at that time we going through a divorce in his marriage and was more established and expressed not want to go to Milwaukee. It was even said by many people such as Stephen A smith etc said he had a hard time adjusting to being in Milwaukee. It safe to say he should have stayed in Portland but im not expert or have any say of what any NBA GM should do when it comes to the decision they make about their team. At this point we gotta look ahead what's happened happened
Jeff just be talking 💩
Giannis needs to play with Antman or Trey Young that’s it
If suns could get Sabonis, Kris Middleton n Jordan Clarkson idk
Teague is not a winner bro. He's always encouraging players to stay in losing situations for momey. How out of touch are these niggas? Eggs, bread, and milk cost $20 yet they wanna convince us that a nigga who's made hundreds of millions should fuck the fans by continuing to lose for hundreds of millions more.
Then these niggas wanna get to give a fuck in the all star game? NBA playing s dangerous game…they think they too big to fail, these nba players.
I'm glad to see this because I'm so tired of people acting like these players that are Hall of famers or all stars are bums just because they didn't accomplish a team accomplishment. That's literally what a championship is. And, a lot of people get online making 20 dollars an hour and will be making that until they retire and get a $2000 per month social security check, and they throw shade at guys out here making 100's of millions of dollars because they have no championship. You don't have a championship either 🤷🏾♂️. Newsflash: winning championships isn't easy, and a lot of really good players won't win an NBA championship.
Why would CP3 go to the clippers when the only thing he hasn’t done is win a championship….that’s what he needs even if he rides the bench
The fans are OK with it too!
You’re making a great point “financial point vs Championships”… Mike Webster won 4 Super Bowls with the Steelers in the 70s & passed away homeless. Jr Bridgeman never played in a Championship series & passed away a billionaire! There’s 24 NBA All-Stars, some of those players won’t win a championship! But they all can hit the NBA FINANCIAL LOTTERY!
Honestly you damed if you do or don’t if he stayed it would be only for money and not for ring
Now that he left people saying he should’ve stayed
(Which he should have)
MAN JAMES HARDEN HAS BEEN TO THE PLAYOFFS EVERY SEASON
DEVIN BOOKER AZZ 😂LUCKY CALIPARI MOATLY
CHARLES BARKLEY
AND KEVIN JOHNSON
THEN CHRIS PAUL
😂 RETIRED AND MAYBE THEN
I love how everyone forgets that they were telling Dame to leave smh
Respectfully Teague never been the man so he has a role player perspective. If you can get a max deal anywhere you should want to prioritize winning. We get on guys for not “wanting it”but at the same time we’re saying prioritize the money
These mf’s is stupid … dame DID do that lol. He signed a big extension and then left in a trade … dame is 35 lol
"And I love to see a black man get paid" – J. Cole
2:03 I also use to hoop 12 hrs a day fa da free mf the price went up 😂😂😂
i never think it’s a good idea for a guy to leave once u leave you’re never treated the same
everybody don’t need a tribute video or jersey retired
Now Dame is back in Portland 😂 the man listens to sound advice
Championships are aren’t guaranteed even with amazing teams like the LeBron heat, kd warriors or 24 Celtics but that contract is.
Well these dudes called it kinda. He's back on Portland
