The Golden State Warriors are Reportedly Interested in Keon Ellis

about it. Mhm. Uh speaking of the media, this is from Evans Citri today. The Warriors recently expressed interest in Keon Ellis, who the Kings have kept off limits on ongoing sign and trade negotiations involving Jonathan Kuminga. Ellis, one of the most underrated 3 and D guards becomes eligible for a new long-term deal during the 2526 season. Also, Jake Fisher reported something about uh Jonathan Kamingo was maybe hoping to find his way to Chicago. Um but that has not worked out. So it looks like maybe that was one of the wrenches in a potential Kings Warrior trade for Kaminga. Maybe Kaminga would have rather gone to Chicago. I don’t know. Obviously nothing has happened yet. But Warriors with interest in Keon Ellis. Now the thing that is frustrating is how what do you mean how recently? How did they express interest? What does that mean? You know, right? Yeah. Is it you know did the Warriors reach out the Kings to tell them last week or Right. Yeah. Is this ongoing now? Still something going on? Yeah. And how about the nugget that the Kings uh what did they say? Uh won’t trade him basically or been reluctant to uh what’s the verbiage he used? Uh yes, the Kings have kept off limits, kept him off limits and ongoing sign and trade negotiations involving Jonathan Kuminga. So, I bring this up because remember when they picked up the option and everybody’s like, “Ah, what are we doing? We’re just gonna lose him. We don’t want, you know, it’s clear the Kings have some future plans for Keon, I would say.” Right now, that that that they wouldn’t include him in any deal for Kaminga. I mean, if this is a guy you think realistically you’re going to lose, why not flip him now? So, I do think they value Keon Ellis. That’s what I’m taking out of that. Yeah. And as far as uh you know discussing any of your players in a trade, I appreciate what Jerry Reynolds said. I think he said this on the uh the Kings Herald podcast. He said, you know, I I would check on all my players, see what they’re worth with doesn’t mean I want to trade them, but you know, I would what do you guys want for I would try to get a sense of what other teams want for all my guys, right? Yeah. That’s you know, cuz you just never know, man. Yeah. You know, somebody might be like, uh, we love Allah Desmond Bane. Yeah. You know, Desmond, I’m sure Memphis wasn’t looking to move off at Desmond Bane. But then when Orlando came calling, gotta listen. What? You want to give me four? What? Okay. You know, same thing with any of our players like as a as a GM that you got to do your due diligence. You’re supposed to do that. Yeah. You know, I’m a big Keon Ellis guy. I like know about that. Yeah. But I um I don’t know that he necessarily I don’t want to trade him. I’m not looking to trade him. Like Keegan to me is like I’m not trading Keegan. Keon I don’t want to trade him but I I’ll listen you know in a Kaminga deal or no any deal because I have so many guards and Keegan I don’t have very many of him. I have like three guys that are legitimate threes. Keon I like Keon a lot. If you want to talk trade you’d have to give up a lot to get them. But I’ll talk with you because I got so many guards. Right. Right. I mean, I wonder what is Keon’s ceiling, if you will. How good can he become? Is he nice rotation player, sixman? Is he a starter? Could he be Derek White? You know, like what? And I think in terms of listening to packages, that’s what you got to find out first. Like, all right, he’s not Kaminga. I might not give him up for Kaminga, but as part of a Giannis package or whatever it may be, you know, I I don’t know, you know, what his value is within the organization. You got to look at it this way, don’t you? And again, I love Keon. I don’t want to trade him, but if you’re looking at any player, okay, he’s improved a lot. Is he going to get better? If you’re not sure, then wow, his market value might be about as high as it’s going to get right now. Exactly. You just have to take that into account, right? And do you subscribe to the Bill Bich uh theory philosophy? I’d rather trade a player a year too soon, year early than a year too late. Yeah. You know what I mean? So valuewise, you don’t get anything back, right? So when you talk about Keon, you know, as he’s going up, you know, did he plateau yet? Can he still go up? That’s what you got to decide as an organization, you know. Yeah. Because you’re just trying to make your team better. Nobody wants to I’m afraid to look at some of the messages. No, we not trying to. No, Keon. We love Keon. Come on. Nobody’s trying. Yeah. Yeah. And it’s not even about Keon really. We could say this about any player in the league really when you think about it. Mhm. Uh when we

The Drive Guys discuss Evan Sidery’s report that the Warriors are interested in Keon Ellis, while the Kings have kept Keon off the table for any sign and trade, this might be something to look at as a future destination for the fan-favorite King.

  1. FYI Whitey: Keegan is, and has always been a 4. All this talk about playing Keegan at his “natural position” is social media generated, group think narrative nonsense.
Keegan doesn’t have the ball handling skills of a 3. DeMar and Nique are your 3’s Kings fans. Try to keep up!😉

  2. If you're trying to get Kuminga, you got to have room for him to play. There ain't no room if you still have DeRozen and Lavine in the lineup. If you want Kuminga, first you got to get rid of one of those two players. Otherwise, no point of getting him and have him come off the bench. I prefer a line up Sabonis, Keegan, Kuminga, Lavine and Schoeder.

  3. Media waits to see comments. This is just fake news to feed media writters that have nothing to wright about

  4. Keegan isn't that good to me. Keon is more valuable. Keegan might shoot a little better but I think he's pretty close to his prime in terms of talent. Remember Harrison Barnes?

  5. If getting rid of Keon and a first means keeping monk and getting Kuminga WE ARE IN THERE! I fw Keon but he’s Alex Caruso at best. Kuminga is younger bigger and better there’s no question.
