Marcus Smart signs with Lakers after Luka Doncic recruited him
Marcus Smart after agreeing to a contract buyout with the Washington Wizards, he intends to sign a 2-year 11 million deal with the LA Lakers and a player option on the second year. But reports say that Luca Donic heavily recruited Marcus Smart to the Lakers and that Luca Donic wants to be remembered as the guy who brought championships to the Lakers. So, he wants to win so bad. But this is exactly what the Lakers needed. They needed more defense on their team and I couldn’t think of a better way than the 2022 defensive player of the year, especially at the guard position. A three-time alldefensive first team guard. I mean, you couldn’t really ask for much more if you were a Laker fan. And Sham Shirani said that Luca Dontic made it clear to Marcus Smart that he wanted to play with him. So, it would have been a no-brainer for Marcus Smart to sign with the Lakers, leaving the Washington Wizards and now getting a chance to hopefully play for a championship, playing some meaningful basketball again since his time with the Boston Celtics. Traded to the laker because of his 3pt% and experience not uch because of past prime defense
If starts instead of Austin Reaves the team will be much more balanced at both ends
