Knicks CONFIRM Starting Lineup For Next Season In Latest Report | Knicks News
We have updates on the Knicks and the most likely starting lineup that they’re going to be utilizing for next season. And NBA Insider helps to break this down by explaining why the Knicks ultimately signed Gerson Yabaselli in free agency. We’re going to break down all of these latest reports today. If you’re enjoying the content, please hit that subscribe button and have notifications turned on so you don’t miss any new content. And now, let’s get started. The Knicks confirm their most likely starting lineup for next season. Who will start for the Knicks next season? That’s the main question here, right? Who will Mike Brown choose to start for this Knicks team? Well, honestly, we already know four out of the five guaranteed starters. But who’s that fifth player going to be? If you’ve watched this channel, then you already know the answer. The most likely player that’s going to start for the Knicks is going to be Mitchell Robinson. He’s likely going to be that fifth player starting for this Knicks team. And let’s go ahead and break down exactly why that’s going to be the case. Shout out to SNY’s Ian Begley for answering the following question on the latest edition of his mailbag. He was asked, “Considering the roster as presently constructed. Do you have an idea on who Coach Brown would be more likely to start?” And here was Begley’s response according to him. Great question. Based on Mike Brown’s lineups last season in Sacramento, you’d think that he plays Towns at center and brings Robinson off the bench. His two most utilized lineups last season in Sacramento featured Damontis Sabonis at center alongside the 6’6 Heaggan Murray. But it’s worth noting that during the free agency process, the Knicks valued Gerson Yabaselli’s versatility off the bench behind the starting lineup featuring Carl Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson. Yabaelli was signed before Mike Brown was hired and obviously the new head coach will ultimately decide the starting lineup rotation for New York next season. But the fact that the Knicks factored in Yabaselli’s role behind the starting lineup featuring Carl Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson tells you that internally there is some support for that starting five. Ultimately, the starting lineup is going to be Mike Brown’s decision. But clearly, internally, when the Knicks signed Gerson Yabaselli, they did it with a starting lineup of Mitchell Robinson in mind. And if you watch the postseason, you already know why the Knicks are going in this direction. When the Knicks started that double big lineup, those slow starts that plagued the Knicks in each and every game, they disappeared because Mitchell Robinson was helping New York on the boards early on. And because of that help, they were able to get second chance opportunities and convert on those opportunities to score and stay in the game, not get the ball taken away and see the other team scoring in transition, which happened a lot even after makes the Knicks would have a problem in transition because other teams would run that ball up, push that ball up and try to score on the Knicks regardless of what the situation was. And New York needs to fix that. And one of the ways they did was changing the starting lineup, benching Josh Hart and starting Mitchell Robinson. And that was the best decision the Knicks made in the postseason. Playing Mitchell Robinson more against the Boston Celtics ultimately helped the Knicks win that series. And one of the main reasons Robinson is likely going to start is because of his impact that we all saw in the postseason. But what about the Knicks rotation? We obviously understand at this point who most likely is going to be the Knicks starting lineup, but what about that bench unit? What about that rotation? What players are going to be utilized the most under Mike Brown? Well, shout out to Ian Begley because he helped to break this down for us as well, too. According to Begley, New York already has a nine-man rotation. Jaylen Brunson, Muel Bridges, OG Anobi, Carl Anthony Towns, and Mitchell Robinson. That right there is your starting lineup. And there’s really no surprise that that was the way the names were listed. That is your starting lineup for the Knicks next season. Coming off the bench, you’re going to have Josh Hart, Jordan Clarkson, Gerson Yabaselli, and Miles McBride. That right there is a nine-man rotation. The only question is, will Mike Brown go to 10 players? And in my opinion, he definitely will. One of the main reasons he’s going to do that is because of the talent on this team and also playing the matchups. Mike Brown more than anything else plays the matchups. And if there’s a certain player on the roster that would do well in a certain matchup, Mike Brown might elevate that player and have them play a lot of minutes for that game. And that player might be the 10th player off the bench. I have no problem with that. I want a head coach playing as many players he feels like he needs to play, but more than that, playing the matchups so the Knicks have an advantage and a way to win. This is what modern NBA coaches do nowadays. And Mike Brown definitely needs to do that. Going back to the bench unit, one of the questions I had once the Knicks play a first game and they have the starters playing their normal minutes, who are going to be the first two players off the bench for the Knicks? And I came to the following conclusion. It’s either going to be Miles McBride and Jordan Clarkson or Jordan Clarkson and Gerson Yabaselli. Now, why am I saying this? Look at what happened last season. Now, I’m not saying that exact same situation is going to happen, but we know with Carl Anthony Towns, he gets into foul trouble very often. And if that happens, he’s going to need a backup. Who’s going to be his backup? Likely Gerson Yabaselli. Yabaselli can play the four or the five. So either way, if Robinson gets into foul trouble or Carl Anthony Towns does, Yabaselli is going to be backing up one of them. We always know Mikuel Bridges is one of the first players to go to the bench. If that happens, normally the player coming in for him is Deuce McBride, but will that change now with Jordan Clarkson being available on the bench? We might have to think about that. The reason I said Clarkson and McBride is because potentially you could see Mikuel Bridges and Carl Anthony Towns head to the bench. And if that happens, you could insert Deuce McBride as your two and Jordan Clarkson as your three, moving OG Anobi to the four and keeping Mitchell Robinson at the five. That’s also a great lineup that I’m sure we’re gonna see next season under Mike Brown. There are so many different directions, so many different rotations and lineups Mike Brown can utilize for next season. And I’m sure he’s going to do that. And the best part about it is we really don’t know exactly what to expect under Mike Brown. And I love that. I love not knowing because honestly for the last few seasons, I kind of knew what to expect already going into the season because after you’ve lived for two plus years under Tom Thibido, everything starts to feel the same. So, you stop thinking about changes and start thinking about what Tom Thibido is actually going to do. But this time around, that’s all gone. Now we just have Mike Brown, his optimism and his openness with running this Knicks team. We know they’re going to play faster. That’s great. We more or less know their nine-man rotation. That’s great. We also know the starting lineup that is most likely for next season. Awesome. We still don’t know the minutes. We still don’t know when the bench is going to come in, who’s going to come off the bench, how they’re going to be utilized, and the rotations we’re going to see. There is still so much that we don’t know about Mike Brown and how he’s going to coach this Knicks team. But honestly, that makes me hype and excited because I don’t know what to expect, but I expect greatness. And why? Because the pressure on this Knicks team, the pressure on Mike Brown, all of it is going to lead this Knicks team into greatness for next season. You can’t have this level of pressure on you without creating greatness. And Mike Brown, he’s definitely going to do that. But what about you guys? What do you think about the Knicks and their rotation and starting lineup for next season? Let me know how you feel about that in the comment section below, guys, because honestly, I would love to hear from you. But that’s going to do it for this episode. I hope you enjoyed it, and if you did, go ahead and smash that like button, leave a comment below, and of course, guys, please subscribe to the channel. Until next time, Nick fans, take care of yourself. your families and each other.

Robertson 😂😂😂
Mitch won’t last sad to say if you give him a lot of minutes as a starter. If you do start him you gotta make sure you don’t wear him to the ground like someone we knew
Yes you need a 9 man rotation in today's NBA, but that's not enough size coming off the bench. We're gonna need to give hukaporti some minutes, because what happens when both Kat and mitch are in foul trouble??
Bro, clarkson at the 3 come on, son. Clarkson can only play sixteen minutes a night when brunson is on the bench. The only way clarkson plays with brunson which is a defensive disaster is with og, bridges and mitch.
Knicks need to add 1 more experienced player ,and trade Tyler Kolek
Hukporti should be included in the rotation. A additional big who can play minutes if Mitch gets in foul trouble. Will be interesting to see how Hart gets used. Clarkson getting minutes at the 3 would be criminal.
If Giannis was on the Knicks, the starting 5 would be:
Pg:Jb
Sg:Hart
Sf:Og
Pf:Giannis
C:Kat
That’s a 60+ win team, and a championship caliber team.
My biggest hope if we do end up keeping Kat is that Mike Brown will have more and better defensive schemes to hide The liability the best we can… That was Tibs biggest problem, He could not find a way out of every team in the NBA targeting him every play of every game that he was on the floor
Also regarding who to bring in first off the bench, I honestly think this should be altered based on if scoring is needed at the moment, if defense is, if there's a favorable matchup we want to target etc .. I don't think keeping a definitive two every game is the best move and I don't think Mike Brown will either, He's too smart, He knows adaption is how you win games And why he's had his success
Yo troy I get the reports and I understand the signing of yabulse was to provide depth under the wing/center position but Mike brown in his presser says he loves playing with pace and space do you think Mitch could give us any of those two and his durability is still a concern in my opinion. I would lowkey start brusnon/deuce/bridges/og/kat and off the bench hart/clarkson/yabulese and Mitch hopefully shamet on that vet minimum deal if I’m Mike brown im doing that. You could play with pace and everyone could shoot the three in that starting 5 you have your two wing defenders and POA defender in deuce trying to cover up brusnon and kat on defense
So why do the Knicks think all these 6'8 guys are centers? Yabu and Precious last season are not centers. As the roster stands now Hukporti needs min. Big teams like Orlando and now even Milwaukee could give us trouble.
One thing, if the put Towns & Bridges on the bench, I don't think you have Clarkson at 6'3, Brunson 6'2 Deuce 5'11-6'0 together we will be way to small. Maybe those 2 if you rest Brunson and Towns. However, they still need to add another point guard.
We shall see what will happen next season with the knicks.
Big mistake to start Mitch, he will breakdown before the playoffs.
MR needs to improve foul shots or it will be 'hack attack'. Plus unless MB can figure out how to get more looks for MR – give and goes + ally oops – then just having his defense as the main argument for his starting is weak. And let's not forget the longer MR is out there the more likely he gets injured. Better to come off the bench. We need 5 guys that can run with pace like the teams that out classed the NYK all season long = Oklahoma, Indiana, Celtics, Cleveland. Give Hukporti a real look at the 5.
I have a question for everyone is Micheal Robinson injury prone. Can he make it through the season ?
If they do not get Simmons as a free agent now when there’s not much numbers to look at and both teams agreeing because he’s signed somewhere else, it’s going to be more difficult. Who knows how long Bridges, Anunoby, Towns, and Robinson will be staying together on this team, not individually.
Brunson deuce or shamet start in back court with brunson they need a shooter
Mitch starting is bout as a crazy as a fish with tities he clearly has never been that healthy he should only play 25 mins a game maybe if they toughen that kat up maybe he could play center and be better than a bent broom with legs on defense.
Hukporti gets dominated defensivly he cannot match up even with second unit unfortunaly
Mitchell Robinson start he will not available for the playoffs.
Giannis is going to be part of kniicks
The preseason is the real test for the new HC Mike Brown and his new roster lineup. How well the new Knicks roster plays in the preseason that's the real test.
Ha ha hart blows
Great another year of Bridges playing out of position and playing from behind on every pick. SMH. With that lineup and if we get a backup PG where does Duece play? Bridges back up is Clarkson. OG back up is Hart. Kats back up is Yabusele and Mitch back up is Hukporti. I would start Duece and now the only left out the rotation is Huk.
"Pace & Space" has been the common offensive philosophy mentioned since Mike Brown was hired, so a starting five similar to what he used in Sacramento, and what he was exposed to before that as an assistant in Golden State, is more than likely to be utilized than a slow, twin-tower alignment.
I’d love to see a 12 man rotation to aid the youth development and give our starters and bench players breathers that allow us to dominate in the closing minutes of games with refreshed players.
Knicks need another veteran rim protector for depth purposes. Mitchell Robinson is not playing 82 games. Hukporti is a piece and Nnaji is not ready. A Nick Richards type is preferred.
Smart was bought out by the Wizards and is signing with the lakers! 2 years 11 million . I beat you to it
