Cleveland Cavaliers vs Golden State Warriors | Jul 19 2025 | NBA 2K26 Summer League Today

Cavaliers two and two here in Las Vegas. Cavaliers two and two here in Las Vegas in their wine in gold and the Warriors in white. Glad you’re with us for summer league action. Robinson with the three. Brown trying to track down the rebound, but he’s not able to hold possession. Strong move down the rim but overlaid by Javier Francis three try no from Jackson Robinson rookie out of Kentucky. I expect to see a funpaced game up and down guys playing relaxed and free but you know these guys are still trying to make a team not just with the current team that they on but throughout the league as a whole. This is an audition for everybody to showcase that. Shackleford with the dish. Tui a top side three. That’s well off the left and out of bounds. Alex Tui out of Australia played for the Sydney Kings last year. And uh Al a quick look ahead and got a goender. We got a foul. It’ll be a foul on the move by Jackson Robinson as he went strong to the rim. But we talk about Alex Tui playing for the Sydney Kings. Andrew Bogen owns that team. Wednesday warrior. What a kinky digging, right? That’s how this works sometimes. Jackson Robinson to the free throw line last year with Kentucky averaging 13 a game. And you bring up a good point. You know, sometimes as players, no matter what the setting is, no matter who you’re playing against, you just never know who’s watching you, right? And what it can do for you in a connected world, the NBA world, right? You mentioned Tui. He may get that because how he’s playing well with Australia. So, it’s always about who you know sometimes and where you’re playing and how hard you’re playing in those situations. Let’s welcome in Kore. Yeah, guys, I wanted to add to that story with Alex, too. You just add to the conversation because for him, the physicality and pace of the NBA game here, it took him a couple games to kind of get his bearings, find his comfort level, and it rose. And he actually says he prefers this pace. He said that’s one of the reasons he stayed in Australia to play with that 24 clock in the MVL and play that up and down style that we’re seeing here in Vegas. He says he’s still not playing at the level he liked to be playing at, but he’s progressing in the right direction. And then you mentioned Andrew Bogat. He is part owner of the Sydney Kings. He’s also now the assistant coach there. Bogat was raving about Tui, especially his approach. He says Tui is very levelheaded. So great for this rookie right here to have Bogot in his corner. Got that last foul. Ball goes to the floor. clock down to seven and a little sloppy to start this one. A lot of energy but not a lot of production, right? It’s it’s sloppy, but you know, you expect them to get their little rhythm back and most of these guys haven’t been playing a lot of minutes, but now this is a great opportunity for them to get a lot of opportunities to showcase their skills right now. Brownford finds Tui Browns. on the give back. Shackleford baseline move slips the pass inside a hook and a hit. Nice patience by Shackleford playing off two with the dish and a three on the other end by Tristan and Aruna. Played his collegiate basketball at Cleveland State. Played with the main Celtics in the GLeague last year averaging 11 and a half a game. Blocked Hson and then going strong. the rack getting his own miss. Hson doing a great job off the second effort. Just putting it back up off of a great defensive effort right there. Wasn’t able to convert on that steel. Brown long with the three and the rebound to Francis. Intercepted. And there is Brown all over the floor running the floor and not finishing however is Tomlin. Tomlin trying to get it back. Nearly committed the foul. Mannon foul line dish off. Miss and out of bounds. Francis was trying to get something accomplish. Golden State starts two of seven and the Cavaliers one of eight. Think about both of these teams during the regular season. They both play fast, right? We know about Kevin Cavaliers and the success they had during the regular season, but Golden State Warriors, we know how Steph Draymond like to play up and down. So you you expect a ball game like that because of these two systems playing up and down and they’re fast pace. Shakford’s lefty threes off the iron. Good rebound and box out by pull up three. Honeycombing in and out from Jackson Robinson. Robinson getting his first action here in Las Vegas. Francis going to work. A spin move off glass. Fails to fall. Rebound. Brown got by Shackleford out of the corner. A Robinson short of the rebound and a loose ball foul on the Golden State Warriors. Well, the Cleveland Cavaliers last year had the league’s most efficient offense and led the league in scoring and were second in point differential and would have been first if not for how good Oklahoma City was. Right. And you think about what Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, those guys growing together as a core group and the way they play garner so many so much shots in their offense. And you ask yourself like, okay, why are they playing so much fast pace? It’s because of players like that that garner so much attention on the offensive end that are creating good attacks on the outside. You saw Omar Cook the summer coach for the Cavaliers on the sideline and a save but a shot clock violation on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Omar Cook has been an assistant with Cleveland the last two seasons and he’s coaching the summer Cavaliers. Lane Wilson is the coach for the Golden State Warriors. Other thing to take notice is Cleveland Cavaliers head coach came from Golden State, Kenny Aerson, right? And so he has a little bit of the five out series and playing fast pace and gained up a lot of threes that he’s learned from Steve Cer over the year. Dante Scott who had just checked in with the out of bounds and a timeout on the floor with the early advantage here in Vegas. [Music] Darth [Music] [Music] [Music] leading the league in scoring. Four teams have finished top 10, [Music] right? I mean, he’s been part of an organization who is dominating the three-point field goals attempts in Golden State Warriors. I mean, look, he comes from that organization. He goes to Cleveland, he has the success, but then he implements putting up a lot of threes, right? And now you see guys like Evan Moble shoot a lot of threes. Donovan Mitchell shooting a lot of threes and it opens up a lot for their offense and he’s done a terrific job, you know, since becoming a head coach over there. Meanwhile, [Music] is playing a pair of free throws to make it a 54 contest and Aruna with a drive and an offensive foul is called as he makes his move to the rim. Both teams a little bit sped up right now. I think they just have to slow down, read the play, make the right decision, but right now they’re a little bit ahead of themselves by playing too fast. Hawkins and the floors [Music] with it now. Shot clock down to Scott on the feed. Hawkins backing down trying to violation trying to connect with but never did materialize for the Golden State Warriors. Warriors two and two here in Vegas. A loss to Portland sandwiched around and lost to Toronto sandwiched around wins over Utah and Memphis. Aruna draws a foul. It will go to the free throw line. Tristan Aruna Cleveland State averaging 13 points per game here in Las Vegas. Aruna doing a great job of using an angle and getting to the basket. You know, when your shots is not falling as a player, even as a as a group, the best thing you could do is get fouled, right? see the ball go in a couple times, get some easy buckets to start getting your flow back. Aruna back to the free throw line. Denver Jones entering the lineup for the Cavaliers and Darius Brown goes to the bench. Cleveland also two and two here in Vegas lost to Indiana wins over Milwaukee and Miami and then a loss to Sacramento and Sacramento has advanced and then a loss to Sacramento has advanced to the final here 2K26 does not want in this game at all and a foul called on Cleveland. Dante Scott and we’ll get a trip to the free throw line. Already you see two similar systems in a five out series where the big is at playing at the top and he’s making the plays. Usually point guards are making the plays but in both systems with Golden State and Cleveland you’re going to see the fiveman make a lot of the plays and play make for their teammates. Summer League action continues tonight on NBA TV, ESPN, and the ESPN app. Coming up next here on NBA TV, we got Portland and Phoenix at 9:30 Eastern. ESPNU tomorrow, Atlanta and Boston at 6 Eastern, followed by the Clippers and Grizzlies at 8 Eastern. on ESPN the championship game at 10:00 Eastern. And right now it’s like it will be Charlotte to face Sacramento. [Music] Should [Music] [Music] should be a good one between Charlotte and the Kings. Looking forward to that match up. Following the foul by to say the least. Steel Hawkins to the rim and goending. A great defensive effort by Hawkins. Switches up on the pick and roll on the guard. Gets a deflection on the steal and converts on the two on the other end. Hawkins averaging 1.3 steals per game. Hawkins averaging 1.3 steals per game. Had two steals in the loss to Toronto. Johnson was trying to block out to Anaruna. Shot clock down to fiveuna tries three. Rebound tapped around and a look ahead double tap. A look ahead double tap. Warriors lead one. Hawkins going to the crossover. Nowhere to go. Miss by Shackleford. Offensive rebound and a hook that drops in for Dante Scott. Great use of using his body, being patient, and finishing for that easy two instead of just rushing up not getting a better get a better look than he did. Jones for three. That one is short. Seven on the shot clock. Got the screen from stolen Bernard. Yes. And the foul out of UCLA. Wait a second. I’m sitting next to a guy from UCLA. I love it. Bernard with the finish and the one down with the throw down. Brandon, Jablonsky. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Hey. Hey. Hey. [Music] [Music] [Music] on the free throw. This Golden State team, they are predicated around his system. It is movement. It is body movement and they do a wonderful job with it. Yes. I mean, Draymond Green is as good as any. That’s true. Goes up for a layup right there. But when you have players like Draymond Green and Steph that are champions right now, it’s about just building around them and they understand what is what it takes to be a champion. They were able to bring in Jimmy Butler and they had a great second half um in the season, but I’m sure they would love to have Steph before he went down with an injury, but Jimmy Butler and Steph were as good as any league coming down the stretch in the Dante Scott with that loose ball with the Cavaliers [Applause] turn it right back in the lane and the Cavaliers within three. use nice use of the floater getting it hard to his left and just being solid with a nice little flo over the top. Cavaliers with eight turnovers already by Golden State. That was a great effort by Dante Scott to get back into the play, but I thought Johnson kind of slowed up because he looked like he wanted to shoot the three, but wasn’t able to get to the basket in time, and then Scott comes out of nowhere to put that block. Cavaliers retain possession. Johnson isolation is fouled on Francis and Cheney Johnson gets the bucket. A former Auburn Tiger chance here would tie the game. Yeah, Johnson sees an advantage with his height, but it’s just his patience. Hits him with the body, rises over the top, doesn’t necessarily uses that off arm for offensive foul, but Just enough where he gets the defense off guard or off balance to rise over the top for a nice little shot. Before he was an Auburn Tiger, he played Alabama. Huntsville can’t complete the three-point play. Rebound to Mannon Golden State one lead in the final minute of the first quarter. Bernard up and the rebound is raked in by the Cavaliers and Cheney Johnson was going to work underneath its foul and free throws coming for him. I mentioned Jar Golden State that makes a lot of the plays of the top of the offense in a five out series. Evan Mobley is starting to trans transition into that for Cleveland. But when Draymond Green or Evan Mobley has the ball on the top, it’s not about just moving around. You got to set screens. You got to get others involved for those for those guys to make the right plays. And I think right now what we’re seeing is guys are just going straight to the basketball instead of setting good screens to get somebody else open. And a block by Shedric off the move by Bernard. Cavaliers do have a foul to give here with 29.8 remaining in the first period. Thought he had a lane, but credit to both teams defense, right? Both teams are very active which is making it very hard and that’s why it’s becoming a low scoring game. Jaden Shackleford drops the Warriors a four-point advantage. Warriors do not have a foul to give the difference and over the Cavaliers turn it over. That is the ninth Cleveland. Great pressure on the ball by Henson to make it tough. court violation. So shot clock goes dark with 19 seconds remaining in the first. So right now you’re going to see who’s a point guard is going to be sending a pick and roll for Bernard. See if he can create a mismatch with the steal. Bernard is back. Alicia missed the layup. And the Warriors will take a four-point lead to the
