BREAKING NEWS: LAKERS GET SMART!!!

BREAKING NEWS: LAKERS GET SMART!!!

They call me Dan the Lakers and I got a massive plan for the Lakers back to the promised land. Spread the vision through my people cuz we fans are equal. When we reach 20K sub, yeah, we going to drop a sequel. Another Laker anthem track. Watch me run it back. Got the keys to the city where my Laker Jack. What up Laker family? It’s your boy DTLF back with another video. And guys, these are my favorite type of videos here because you know I’m hyped. You know I’m hyped, y’all. The Lakers. Okay, breaking news. If you I don’t know, man. I was out on the road with my family and I had a we had to bust a YouTube real quick because the Lakers just signed Marcus Smart, baby. Marcus Smart. Let’s go. Now, why I’m so hyped about Marcus Smart is as if you guys have been followers here, man. Your boy called it once again. I told you guys, watch out for Marcus Smart this off seasonason. A very smart, intelligent move. What up, Sally? Very, very smart move, guys. We needed a point of attack defender. I’m going to give you guys all the details, but didn’t I tell y’all, I said, “Watch out for the Wizards. If they buy out Marcus Smart, the Lakers should jump on that.” And sure enough, the Lakers and I always think alike because Dan Stradamus is strict again. All right. Uh, very excited. I think this is the type of move that puts us in contention. Yes. Yes. I know I would still want to back a big man. Uh, I know we could still use a guard off the bench, but whether Marcus Smart comes off the bench or starts, this is an amazing move for the Lakers. It just gives us exactly what we need next to Luca Dodgers. By the way, what up Den? Appreciate you. Thank you so much for super chat, bro. Great move. Um, and we were just talking about this last week. I said this would be my number one target because he is a point of attack defender. He will be perfect next to Luca Donuch. And guess what guys, Luca Donuch did recruit this guy. It says Luke Lakers Luke star Luca Donic made a direct recruiting pitch to Marcus Smart this week that resonated with the veteran guard. League sources told Mark Stein again again guys. We need our stars to recruit. Shout out to Marcus Smart for doing that man. I’m sorry for to Luca Dunes for doing that. So again, round of applause for Luca, baby. You know, he’s going to sign that contract extension. We know he’s here to stay. He’s recruiting for us. Yes, this is for real. The Lakers have agreed to a two-year deal. If you guys are just tuning in, breaking news. Marcus Smart, a three-time alldefensive first team guard, will agree to a two-year deal with a player option in the second year to sign with the Lakers for 11 million. Now, obviously, we have to wave shake Milton to make this happen. But it’s official. It’s official. We on. We were waiting for another move. We needed a defensive guard around the perimeter, if not a wing, right? We needed that and we got just that, ladies and gentlemen. Ladies and gentlemen, we had that conversation. My boy Dree was here last week. U and we were talking about Marcus Smart. And uh again, very excited to have this guard on board. I This is a guy I’ve wanted probably since two years ago when when he first got Delta Memphis. I said, “I don’t think he’s going to fit in Memphis. If he ever gets traded, I hope the Lakers are there.” And sure enough, yeah, that’s right. Die Hard, we did it, bro. Marcus Smart is a Laker. We’ve been waiting for this for quite some time. I liked him since he was on OSU, man. So, he played in college. I’ve always liked him. I actually wanted us to draft him over Julius Randle. The Celtics pulled up and snatched him like a a pick or two before us and we ended up getting Randall, which I was very happy with out of Kentucky. But this guy, I I’ve always had my eye on him. And I remember a couple years back I thought he was perfect to start alongside uh Austin Reeves or DLO, whoever was there to fortify a perimeter defense, but now he’s starting alongside Luca most likely. I could definitely see this guy starting and then Austin being relegated to the bench row or worse Austin could get dealt now, but I don’t think that’ll happen. I do believe Austin will potentially still start, but eventually I can see Marcus Smart taking that spot. And uh unless you move Luca to the three and you start with Marcus and Austin, but whatever the combination is, this is a beautiful fit, man. And we are here, man. We are here for it. Let’s go, Laker. That’s what I’m talking about. And people absolutely would love to play with Luca. That is huge. That is absolutely huge, man. And um you know, it’s an exciting time to be a Laker fan because again, we get a player. We were desperately starving for perimeter defense. We saw what happened in the playoffs. Not just in the paint, but also not just in the paint, but also in the perimeter. Our defense was struggling big time. And now we got some a point of attack defender is what we calling him. All right. Uh and the fact that Luca was able to recruit this man, it just means so much more. I mean, anybody who was worried about contract extension, again, I told you guys, don’t worry about it. Luca is here to stay. He said he wants to win multiple championships here. Luca is all about loyalty. Yes, I did, TJ. But it’s not the first time, right? You guys, if you guys are familiar with the channel, I have called Malik Monk coming to the Lakers. I didn’t call Russell Westbrook coming to the Lakers. I didn’t call LeBron James years before it happened. We called a lot of things on here, man. So, that’s why the the people, man, blessed me with the nickname Dan Stradamus. You know, I think it’s common sense. If you just look at what the roster needs now, I can’t I don’t understand what what the way Rob Pelica thinks, but one thing I do know is that we’ve been starving for perimeter defense since we lost KCP. If we’re being quite frank, this is going to make up for a lot of that. Yes, he is coming off of injuries and all that, but he’s a 31 year old guard still in his prime. All right. Uh who’s about to play for a contract, and that is the most dangerous type of contract to sign for real. Uh but it is good news. It is a good news that um that we’re hearing that Luca recruited this guy. We know Luca is going to be here for a long time. That’s that’s the seal of approval right there. Right. Hey, J. Appreciate you, man. I’m hyped too, bro. I’m super hyped, man. Shout out to Starbucks for the drink. I’m so hyped, bro, that I’m telling you, we was out with my family coming back from the uh day swab. We want to go grab some plants and stuff to make teas with. And we was at Starbucks when the news broke and I’m like, “Oh my god, we got to turn this car around. We got to go home ASAP, man.” Because I just I just uh you know, started texting all my friends and family and everything. Crazy crazy pickup, man. But I think this off seasonason now we address Check it out. So, we did lose Dorian Finny Smith, but we addressed the starting big man and potentially a starting caliber guard, a combo guard who could play the one to two, maybe even small ball three who can lock up and it’s really going to focus mostly on defense. Offensively, whatever we get with him, a plus when he’s healthy, he’s a capable scorer on top of that, right? But this guy, man, I’m telling y’all, man, this was such a great pickup. And the Lakers, they’re winning the offseason now. We went from well, we’re still in second place to the Rockets because the Rockets made some great moves, but uh uh Marcus Smart is just a tremendous uh a tremendous talent for the Lakers to add basically uh without giving up anything. And does that’s two moves this offseason we’ve made. Adding two starting caliber players who are going to shore up our defense, one in the front line, one in the front court. Uh you know, that’s two players we got without giving up any assets. And people And people still think that the Lakers didn’t have a good offseason. I got something to tell y’all. We officially are entering the conversation of contenders, fam. We’re entering that conversation now. So, we have Smart Vando Goodwin and Adu Aro and Aiden. Yo, the defense is going to be dangerous if it all comes together. Yes. Now, granted, the coaching staff has to put it all together still. We got a lot of ways to go. We got to put it together, but we got a dog. We got an absolute animal. We got a guy who could pick up multiple positions and do some great things, man. Marcus Smart is the type of player that, yes, solo, he fits, but he fits everywhere. We had this conversation, me and Dree, and Dree called him a bit old. I’m like, nah, he’s perfect. He’s 31. I know he’s coming off of an injury, and Dere is right on that. But if it hits, it’s a very low risk, extreme high reward move. You don’t lose anything, right? And we can still make a trade for sure. Uh, what’s good, Freddy? He said, “That was a a great surprise while I’m at work. I think there’s a trade in the works because waving shake is not enough capwise. There has to be a trade in the works and we always felt like we were right there. What up KD? Good to see you, bro. We always felt like we were a trade away. Anyways, you know, but this definitely solves a lot of questions, a lot of question marks about the Lakers off seasonason. All of a sudden, the Lakers now have had a great offseason. It went from, okay, DeAndre Aiden great. All right, Jake Larabia solid, but we’re still lacking perimeter defense. still lacking guard depth and wing depth. We’re still lacking maybe even another back big big another backup big man. What Marcus Smart does is it solved two out of the three issues that we are uh still lacking. And maybe a trade will solve the final issue. But for now, I got to give this off seasonason an A. I’m not going to put the plus on it till the trade is complete. Whatever the trade is to clear up the cap space till it’s complete and we get whatever is necessary. But check this out, man. You’re talking about a smart elite perimeter defender, right? Who has been all NBA defensive player of the year, right, in 2021, 2022, right? Only the sixth guard in NBA history to do so, by the way. His physicality, his quick hands, his high basketball IQ allowing him to guard multiple positions, guys. All right. Now, um, often, you know, he is 6’3, and I did say nobody’s 6’3 and under, but he’s the exception because he plays like he’s 66. Okay. Uh he’s also somebody who’s going to dive on the floor for loose balls. He’s somebody who’s going to take charges, you know, he’s just an ultimate competitor, right? And he’s the type of anchor that rubs off on the rest of the guards. You’ll see other guys picking up on his tendencies, especially in practice, right? Uh he disrupts the opponents with his on ball pressure and his help defense. And again, he’s been uh named to the AllNBA defensive first team three times, 2018, 2019, 2019, 2020, and 2021, 2022. All right, he’s only 31 now. He’s not a primary scorer, but he has improved, guys. His offensive game over time has has improved, right? His career scoring average is 10 points per game with a 38% field goal percentage, right? It’s not the best. 32% from beyond the arc, right? But but he’s aggressive, right? He’s he’s very aggressive. He’s going to attack. He’s going to do things that going to help your team. He’s a capable playmaker as well. He’s averaging 4.6 assists in his career per game, right? Um his careerh high came in 2023 when he averaged 6.3. So that’s not too far removed again, right? He’s great uh ball handler as well. Another onball guy for sure. His value lies in his energy though. His energy and his leadership on the court. Like I said, he’s going to be another anchor which is in in turn gonna just help this team man elevate their uh chemistry. But I told you guys, I told you guys, didn’t I say this just a couple of days ago? Watch out for Marcus Smart if he gets bought out. Wizards currently had 18 people. they’re going to buy somebody out. Marcus Smart was my guy from the beginning of this off seasonason. And uh you know, once he got dealt to the Wizards, I knew he wasn’t going to fit there. He doesn’t fit what they have there. So, it only makes sense that they would do this. He said, “Yo, honestly, if we could trade Gabe, I would be happy, but I know he ain’t getting traded. He might he might we might make a trade still here to clear up the cap space.” By the way, this is the best news that could have happened for Bronnie. How, you might ask? This is a great vet to take a young guard like that under his wing and teach him all the little tricks. Similar play styles, both very tough, both a bit undersized, but again, Marcus Smart makes up for it with his wingspan while Bronny with his athleticism, right? Definitely made all of our day. Jojo, this is tremendously huge news and and uh man, I would have broke it 20 minutes ago had I been home, but unfortunately I was away. But man, if you guys are just as excited, make sure to slap that that like button, guys. This this is a video. This is a video I didn’t think I’d be making today, but I was hoping to make during the offseason for sure, right? This is one of those videos. But the fact, you know, what makes me even more excited is the fact that Luca Donic actually helped and led this recruitment pitch right here about a week ago. So, this is something that’s been um you know, in the works for quite some time, right? I like that comparison. He’s like a baby run our test. Yes. You know, I just told my girl that when we got uh when I heard the news. Hey, appreciate you Dere. Hey man. Hey, you know what? I’m gonna turn up the phone lines. Let’s get 350 likes up in here and we turn up the phone lines. Let me know Kimmy God if it happens. I want to hear from the good people, man. Because this is a move that I think is going to benefit everybody. And I’m talking about on the roster, the fans, because we’re going to get a a better defensive product on the floor, right? Assuming he can stay healthy. Um, it’s going to benefit Luca because now you got somebody in the back court that could cover up a lot of your blemishes. again, assuming he can stay healthy and he even starts, that’ll be a different type of conversation. But our our roster now is looking more well-rounded than ever, right? It’s looking more well-rounded right now. And again, we haven’t had perimeter defense the likes of this since we lost KCP, since we traded him away. So again, Marcus Smart is going to be tremendous, bro. I I cannot wait. I cannot wait. And again, this is this is a a player that you guys, if you guys been following my channel for quite some time, I’ve had my eye on and I’ve been wanting on the Lakers for the last couple seasons. I I didn’t see the fit in in Memphis. People thought I was crazy when I said he doesn’t fit in Memphis. Maybe they trade him away. They did. And that trade led to the buyout that led to the Lakers signing him. So, in a way, I called this two years ago. I wanted him here as a Laker alongside at the time, I think it was DLO. Now, even better, alongside Luca the Dawn. Oh my goodness, guys. I’d like to see a trade, but it’s possible we just wave Goodwin, which I don’t love waving him. Yeah, it’s it’s it’s possible we wave Goodwin, but this move now screams trade for me. It screams let’s make a trade and let’s round out the roster and the bench and the backup big men a little bit better. But outside of that, I can’t complain. If this is how we end our season, my god, you get an A for me already. Now I’m really happy. Now I’m ecstatic. Uh, he said, “Dan, happy Saturday, bro. How are you, bro? I’m excited. I got my drink.” All that good stuff, man. He said, “I like the pickup. He’s tough, smart, good pickup. Do you think we’re done, Dan? And do we have any more roster spots?” Well, currently, we have to wave Shake Milton in order to make this movie even happen, Richard, I don’t think we’re done. I think we’re still a trade away, meaning, you know, we have a bunch of guards now. You got Marcus Smart, you got Bronnie James, you got Gabe Vincent, you got Austin Reeves right now, currently Shake Milton. um you know uh obviously Dalton connect like we got so many guards that it it it’s almost begging like for one more trade just to round out the roster nicely but if this is the end and this is the roster we came in with look it we lost DFS but we gained DeAndre Aton Marcus Smart and Jake Larabia I’d say that’s an upgrade if you told me Dan would you trade if you told me this last season Dan would you trade DFS for Marcus Smart Jake Larabia and and DeAndre Aiden, I say, “Fuck yeah. Sign me up right now.” So, this is a great move, guys. Again, this, you know, the offseason for me was like a C++ because of DeAndre Aiden. I love the acquisition, but now that we got Marcus, man, my guy who I’ve been wanting for years that automatically elevated us because that get that affords us a luxury we did not have the last couple of seasons, which is a a perimeter guard that can switch on multiple positions and point of attack defender. Great great pickup, guys. I’m excited. Now I’m thinking we’re starting to look more like a contender. Of course, health is going to factor into it. LeBron’s obviously going to be 42. What? 41? 42 lost count. He’s going to get older. Marcus Smart coming off a major injury. Luca dealt with several injuries, but if he comes in in shape, should be better. But if you put all that to the side, the depth is better. So if an injury happens, we can sustain this roster sustainable. Uh they can keep their head about above water with this acquisition and more. Right. So again, um I’m surprised this guy, nobody else pounced on him. Maybe they tried, but he picked the Lakers, man. And he’s Laker material. I knew it from the day he came out of the draft. I knew he was going to be Laker material. And I just felt it. You know, when you feel in your blood that somebody’s going to be a Laker someday, I knew Marcus Smart was going to be a Laker someday. Just like when I had that dream about Ronda being a Laker and I I called it a couple years before it happened and bam, we ended up getting him and winning a championship with him. That’s how I feel about this acquisition. I feel like in a different in a different point of view. This is kind of like the Rondo acquisition. You’re getting a veteran, you know, somebody who’s competed at the highest level, somebody who’s there. I mean, this is insane, man. Insane. Smart dog mentality was much needed on this team, bro. This elevates us to another level because these are the type of players that rub off even in practice. You know, this this is the type of stuff that that rubs off even in practice, chat. Again, this is the best thing that could have happened to Brian. You’re going to get a dog that’s going to get after you in practice. So now, when you go out and you face real competition, it’s like, bro, I have to face Marcus Smart every other day. This is nothing, right? You see what I mean? And you learn his tendencies and it’s a veteran that could take you under his wing. Similar type of player that I want Bronny to pass his game after. And all the other guards, too. I’m sure Austin can learn something from this. Dalton, everybody. LeBron said, “Let’s freaking go.” Yes. These are the type of moves right here that put all the noise to rest. Even the chatter about LeBron James leaving now. LeBron knows we serious now. Like, oh [Β __Β ] they got Marcus Smart, DeAndre Aiden. Okay, now we about to start at We about to start eating up in here. Damn it. Um, but this what it’s all about, man. For sure. Uh, hey Dan, do you have a trade idea the Lakers to complete this off seasonason? I’mma cook one up for you. I don’t have one off the top because again, I didn’t expect this move today. I was hoping for it, right? But I didn’t expect it today. And so again, what a happy Saturday, everybody. All right. It feel like Christmas. It feel like waking up on Christmas morning right now because this is beautiful, man. What the Lakers have done here to round out the roster nicely. Now, as of right now, for those of you asking who else can we pick up as of right now, nobody. We’d have to make a trade to clear up a roster spot. Right now, we’re going to wave Shake Milton. And it I felt like today something was going to happen because it’s July 19th. Today’s the deadline to wave Shake Milton. So Lakers moved swiftly and they made their move. But at the same time, um they would have to make another trade in order to clear that up um to go ahead and and sign this guy. You know, again, very ecstatic, guys. This is the type of move that propels you into contention. For sure. For surely. Uh wow. Waking up to this news. Hey man, hit the like button, bro. Hit that like button, man. I told y’all last week, watch out for Marcus Smart. Look, here we got him. Very excited about that. And again, it feels awesome that Luca Donuch led the recruitment pitch for a Marcus Smart, right? It just it just feels right. It feels so right, man. It feels so freaking right that and again Marcus is smart. You want to talk about an elite perimeter defender, you want to talk about somebody who’s not necessarily an offensive guy, but he can get buckets, averages over 10 points per game in his career, right? Um his energy is unmatched. Uh just just a great guy off offensively, right? He’s never been a high percentage shooter, right? with no season above 45% from the field or 40 from beyond three. But his shot selection, you know, uh is going to be much better, I think, playing alongside Luca and LeBron and some of these elite veterans. I think he’ll only get better, too. Even at 31, even at 31, guys, um uh you know, I I’ve always hated Boston, but I’ve always admired the way this guy plays. A lot of people hate hate on him for his flopping or this or that, but let’s be honest, everybody flops, right? Right. He didn’t fit in Washington, and I knew he was going to get bought out. I had a feeling, right? My source also confirmed to me that he was a likely candidate to get bought out. That it wasn’t a hard guess this time for me. So, I’m I’m glad. Hey, shout out to Solo. Thank you for being a member, brother of the channel for the past nine months in counting. He said, “We get that decent backup center. We cooking, bro. We don’t have too many um weaknesses anymore. We don’t have too many weaknesses at this point.” And that’s good. That’s good that the Lakers came out here and they plugged up a lot of these weakness. We got an absolute dog, a beast. Somebody who’s going to get after it, right? About to get a drink. Cheers. Cheers, Jojo. Go get that drink. By the way, shout out to Starbucks if y’all ain’t had it. Strawberry isai refresher with lemonade on a on a Saturday afternoon with all this heat, with all this uh all these acquisitions and everything that’s happening. Perfect time to get that drink. Uh Gabin Maxi for Vousvich as a backup. O yeah, I think Vousvich would like to start. So, I’m not sure that one will work, Nate. But I like your idea because I do like Busousvich, even though I don’t think he fits here necessarily. Uh Horford is still available, man. If I’m Marcus Smart, I’m I’m hitting up Horford. The whole the whole ex Celtic gang is about to betray and become Lakers. And then they’re going to say something similar to Ronda when he said the best franchise I ever played for was the Lakers. So, that’s what we want to see for sure. Uh Ron says, “Keep Goodwin. Trade Gabe and pieces for a wing.” That’s ideal. See, I want to keep Jordan Goodwin because he’s also a dog. He’s also scrappy. Another young player who can learn from somebody like Marcus Smart, right? And if we can get a bunch of these dogs, a bunch of these uh awesome people, awesome quality of players, this pedigree that get after it, then then we’re cooking. Let me know, Kimo, when we hit 350 likes, I will turn on the phone lines so the good people can give their opinions. Uh let’s see. Uh Dan, I see I see people saying negative stuff about Marcus Smart. Don’t worry about it, Joe. Because you know what? We didn’t trade for this man. We didn’t give up no first round picks for this man. Nothing but positive things should be said about Marcus Smart. First of all, he wanted to be a Laker. That means he’s a winner. All right. In the making. So, we’re good, man. We are good, bro. Don’t worry about it. It’s extremely low risk, very high reward. I’m talking championship ceiling because these are the type of players that can come in here and help change your culture culture around, right? and help all the perimeter players learn to buy in defensively 110%. Even Austin will get better, right? He’ll learn tendencies from this guy. Great veteran to pick up. You’re very welcome, Jess. Hey, man. I’m glad it happened, bro. This was uh one This was on my wish list, but I’m very happy that it went down, man. And you know, not everything on our wish list happens, but man, let’s see what you guys think. Uh, do you think Braun stays now for this year? Yes. We also I almost made a live yesterday, but let’s be honest, that summer league game was extremely boring. I don’t want to bore you guys with a postgame of nothing because Bronny didn’t play. Dalton didn’t play. So many players didn’t play, right? Um, but I almost went live yesterday because of the rumor that LeBron is leaning towards retiring and this being his final season. I I can either deny or confirm that, but my source has told me that there is some validity to some of those reports that he really is considering retiring after this year. I don’t even think LeBron knows what he’s going to do yet. He might wait till training camp to make an announcement if that. So, keep an eye out for that. You know, when I say it, it sometimes happens. However, um yeah, um I I do believe LeBron stays past this season. I mean, he’s not going to have a better chance anywhere to compete with the roster we’re building right now. You got Luca, a top five player in the league today. yourself, LeBron, a top 10 player in the league today. You got um you know, now you we added one of the better perimeter guards when he’s healthy and Marcus Smart. You got Austin, uh probably the best third option in the league when healthy, right, which he wasn’t in the playoffs. You got um you got so much now. You got so much to work with. You still got Ruie. You just added DeAndre Aiden. You see how the roster started starting to sound better and better and better and better, right? So again, can the Lakers still make a trade to free up a calf spot or something? We’ll see. But Marcus Smart man is very good. For those of you that haven’t seen him play, you’re talking about a Metal World Peace type defender, but from the guard position because he’s he’s not big like Metal World Peace who was 6’8, right? He’s 6’3. He’s got good wingspan on him. He’s athletic. He’s got a high motor, which is the most important thing. He’s going to he can pick up full court. He can pick up full court and really slow down some of these better perimeter players. And as you may know, in the Western Conference, it is crucial. It is absolutely freaking crucial to have great perimeter defenders out there, right? Not just a great perimeter scorer like Luca because then you just go toe-to-toe. You exchange buckets and you don’t feel the difference. We want to feel the difference. So, we want Luca getting 30 plus and we want Austin Ree locking up somebody from getting 30 plus. That’s when you feel the difference, right? That’s when you feel the difference. Thank you so much, Kimo. Yes. Hit that like button if you guys believe in Draamus Smith. Called this about two buttons ago. I wanted Marcus Smart here. Matter of fact, two seasons ago, we wanted him here. So, um, I’m glad it finally happens. Uh, Seawwood as a backup center. Your thoughts? No. Um, his injury history is just too bad for me. I’d like to pass on that. Guys, we’re 150 likes away. Please, I want to turn on I want to turn on the uh the phone line. So, make sure you guys tap that like button. Didn’t make a video yesterday, so I might still turn up the phone lines, but let’s hit that like for your boy one time. And especially since I called this, man, I was one of the few people on here talking about Marcus Smart as a Laker would be perfect. So, now that we have him, we’re about to see the fruits of the Lakers labor and actually being, pun intended, smart enough to get Marcus. All right? Because that was I think this was one of the most intelligent offseasons we’ve had. Think about this. The Lakers literally did a lot by doing nothing. We kept our cap flexibility, right? Because smartest a two-year deal with a one-year opt out after this year. Check. Uh same thing with DeAndre Aiden. Check. We addressed perimeter and inside needs for the most part. Check. Right. And we didn’t give up any major assets via trade like Austin Reeves or Ruie or the first round pick or Dalton or any of it. We still have all of it just in case we need a mid-season trade. Double check. That is huge. That is absolutely freaking huge. And we got to keep that going. We got to keep hitting that like button, man. Because your boy just getting started, man. Let me get a drink real quick. By the way, Dan, who who did we just wave? Just woke up 6 am here, so I’m kind of late on the news. It’s probably gonna be Shake Milton if I’m being honest. It’s probably gonna be Shake, Shake, Shake. He didn’t do much for us last year, unfortunately. I like the pickup when it happened because I seen Shake Milton do something before, but yeah, it looks like it’s going to be Shake for sure. Um, but guys, this is uh again, tremendous news. Uh we’re basically getting rid of a bottom of the rotation piece that never really played outside of garbage minutes and we’re getting a a potential starting candidate and we don’t know if he’s going to start yet, right? Because Austin is on a contract year and Austin is a better scorer for sure. But I think there’s nights where he will start and nights where he won’t. Especially in the playoffs, you never know if Austin’s getting cooked and he’s not cooking. Now you got Marcus Smart to back you up, man. You got a real point of attack defender. somebody who’s an absolute animal with a high motor and he’s going to get after it for, you know, 48 minutes a game, maybe even more if we go into overtime, right? So, Dan and Smart can handle the ball. He’s perfect. He’s perfect for real. You don’t get players like this for free. the league again with the new CBA. There was a tremendous amount of moving parts and pieces this summer because of the new CBA, which we knew there was going to be explosions, but man, I don’t remember the last time the Lakers got two starting caliber players for free because that’s what this was. These these are free take a flyer on a one-year deal, no risk, extremely high reward deals that just happened. Both unprove it deals, by the way, because Marcus Smart’s coming off a major injury and DeAndre Aiden’s coming off of uh, you know, just irrelevant seasons in Portland. So, they both on the prove it deals, right? Come on. This is going to be really, really awesome. Uh Chrissy says, “Are you worried Smart only played 54 to total games in the past two seasons?” I’m actually encouraged about that because that means he has less mileage. That means he’s probably going to play more seasons for us. The the limelight is brighter here. So, if you want to make a nice paycheck and you want to opt out, there’s going to be more money in the next free agency. This is the perfect place for him to come out here and ball out, you know? Let’s get it, man. He said, “Dan said this so much that I got him on my NBA live team. Now to have this be real is crazy, bro. I got you guys, man. This why you guys subscribe and hit that like button.” No, you heard it here first, man, before anybody breaking down what Marcus Smart on the Lakers would look like. And that was two years ago. I thought he was a perfect fit even two years. I still think he is. I I still think he’s a perfect fit. Granted that he’s healthy, right? But even if he’s not healthy, what did you really lose by signing this guy? Absolutely nothing. Right? You have everything to gain with nothing to sign. We had a lot of dead weight contracts last year that weren’t getting any playing time, right? So, oh my god, bro. I’m telling you, this guy Marcus Smart is gonna he has the potential to give us a absolute fa facelift defensively. Check. So, think about this, right? Obviously, LeBron’s not the best defender he was anymore, but in sports, he could still be elite, right? So, you have that. Now, you got an anchor, right? An anchor. He’s not the best defender all the time, but sometimes, and if his motor’s extremely high this season, DeAndre Aiden’s going to be a monster. You’re talking about a former number one overall pick. You got Marcus Smart, an actual point of attack defender who’s who can lock up. You got Vano, pitcher, a lineup of those three together out there. Now, the offense might not be great, but if you plug in LeBron James and Luca, offense is always going to be flowing, right? If you need defense, this is the way to go. Now, you’re going to have options. And I think optionality is your best, you know, is absolutely your best. My guy said, “New listener, switching on my Laker news to DTF. Love the energy and insight.” Appreciate you, man. Hey, welcome, brother. Welcome to the family. If you guys already haven’t, please hit that like button and subscribe and turn on the post noty bells. I told you guys after the news dropped with Bradley Beal that we were going to get some news and I was expecting something, right? I was expecting something soon. So, I’m glad it, you know, again, I’m glad it happened. Hey, shout out to Laker Nation, man. They do a tremendous job. Love Laker Nation. Trevor Lane, my good friend. Shout out to my guy D Free, man. Uh, you know, um, just those guys are awesome, man. They don’t need me. They they do a tremendous job without me. But I do have my own thing here, guys. So, make sure you guys do show love here as well. But, man, I love those guys over at Laker Nation. They they always work in overtime. And I don’t even have to look. I know bro was live as soon as the news broke. So, that that’s that’s a similar work ethic to mine and game recognized game, man. So, respect to Trevor Lane and uh and those guys over there at Laker Nation as well. Uh all right, we’re almost there. All right, let’s get to 300, guys. I’m going to turn on the phone lines. I trust you guys. We’ll get there regardless, man. I want to hear what you guys have to say about Marcus Smart. If you guys have any questions for me, I’d be happy to answer these. All you got to do is click the link and have a camera phone with the camera uh to go live. Uh there’s the link. Just drop the link. Phone call Friday. Let me go ahead and and uh let’s see if I find the credits here. Yeah, let’s roll the credits, baby. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hey, I know you don’t subscribe. I know this, but I’m going to get you subscribe today cuz it’s Friday. You ain’t got no job and you ain’t got [Β __Β ] to do. Let’s go, baby. Hit that subscribe and that like button, guys. And if anybody wants to call in, all you got to do is hit that like button. I want to hear your thoughts on Marcus Smart. Are you guys excited? Do you guys have reservations? All of that good stuff, man. And let’s bring in our first caller, my good friend, man. My buddy, my pal CJ. What’s up, bro? What’s up, fam? How you doing, man? Hey, man. I’m blessed. Hey, I’m even better. I’m even better today, man. You know, getting this Absolutely. getting this type of news. You’re cutting off, bro. I should barely hear you, but uh Yeah, we’re losing you, bro. Hopefully uh you you uh make sure to call back, bro, because we completely lost connection there. Uh make sure to call back when you get into a better uh reception area. My guy CJ, we’ll come back to him. Let’s go to our next caller, Joe Sav. What’s up, man? What’s What’s up, uh Dan? How you doing, brother? I’m doing pretty good. Hold on. Let me turn my camera on, brother. Oh, here I go. There he is. Joe, what’s up, brother? Nice to meet you, man. How you feeling about this Marcus Smart acquisition, brother? I I feel I’m excited about the trade, man. I don’t you know, I’m excited. You know, we got a you know, we can use him in many ways. You know, we can do so much. I’m just so excited, man. Because, you know, everybody been saying negative stuff, but you know, I ain’t paying attention to it, brother. You know, I’m just chilling. Yeah. I mean, you’re smart. You’re smart. You seem smart. So, you know that all the negative stuff comes with no merit because in reality, regardless of whatever move the Lakers make, man, we could have had Giannis here and there was still going to be some push back. People would have said something like, “Oh, you guys gave up too much.” You know, so which is what they said about Anthony Davis when we traded for him. So, there’s always going to be negative push back. This is the Lakers, baby. You know, we on top of the world, right? Right. Big facts. We on top of the world. You already know, Dan. I’m like I said, I’m excited for this trade. I knew we was gonna get somebody else, but I just didn’t know who it was. Right. Let me ask you this, bro. Would you start him? And if so, who would you bench? If whoever the bench be for uh Marcus Smart, I man this is gonna be crazy to say, Dan, but I will have to probably bench. Man, this is crazy, man. Don’t be mad, Dan, but I would have to bench Reeves, bro. No, I agree with you. I wanted Austin Reeves off the bench since we acquired Luca because I think it’s a better fit. I agree with you, bro. Absolutely, man. Absolutely. Now the the reason I say that brother because we don’t need two ball uh ball dominance with the you know between Luca and you know Ree I rather just have Luca have the ball in his hand more than have Reeves. That’s why I would say Marcus Smart can start. Absolutely. And I think Marcus Smart just brings a different dynamic to the team. We got plenty of scoring already with Luca and LeBron there. you know, Marcus still could get buckets, but you know, I I 100% agree. And I think that solves two issues, man, because last year we had one of the worst benches, uh, you know, uh, in the NBA, especially come playoff time, I think we might have been at the bottom in the playoffs. So, um, I think that would solve two, you know, two problems with one. Yeah, you can solve two issues with one. Great, because now you don’t have so many liabilities out there in the perimeter for them to attack, right? So, that would be huge, man. Um, do you think this Laker roster as constructed now with Aiden? Obviously, we added Lavia and now Marcus Smart to LeBron to Austin and everything we already had, do you think this team is a top three team again in the West this year? Yes, I do. Yes, I do, Dan. I definitely think so. The way Luca taking care of his body and, you know, I think we’re gonna be a beast. I I know people just probably looking at us like, but I think we gonna be a top top three team and I really believe we gonna get the chip this year. Oh man, I man I would love nothing more than to get a championship and watch LeBron right off into the sunset. Um, do you think this is going to be LeBron’s last year? How you feel? How you feel about that? That that one, man, I’ve been thinking about that for the last ever since. I don’t know. This is really hard to say. He is 41. I meant 40 gonna be 41. My bad. Um I don’t know, Dan. It’s hard to say, but I know he do want to play with um his other son, uh Bryce. I know he does, but I don’t know. Oh, man. You know what? I think if they actually compete for a title, like you said, we win a championship, I think this will be the perfect time to walk away from it because that’s going to be I always feel like the last impression that you left on everybody is how people tend to remember you. So, if you win a championship and you retire, bro, your legacy is already beyond elevated, man. That would be a great way uh to end, you know, a wonderful career. Uh you got any questions for me, my brother? Um I’m just I’m just excited to meet you for the first time. I am going to subscribe to you. I am going so we can shop it up. I was I’m gonna be honest. I was looking on YouTube for people like, you know, Laker, you know, I’m a big big big Laker fan, man. I’m a big You’re in the right place, man. Welcome, brother. Absolutely. I was trying to talk to some other people on other podcasters, but they were like too negative and you know, and so I really think you’re the right one for me to be on, Dan. And we could talk about whatever. And I also myself, too. Okay. Okay. Definitely got to chop it up, man. Um, and you’re in the right place. Thank you so much for uh coming through and thanks for the phone call, my friend. Yeah, no problem. All right, brother. Have a blessed day. You too, brother. Have a blessed Thank you, bro. And shout out to Joe, man. I love positive calls. Let’s bring back my good friend CJ. Let’s see. I think he got better reception now. Yeah, there he is. Let’s go. You was chopping up, my guy. Hey, bro. Can you hear me? Perfect. Loud and clear. Yes, sir. All right. I had to find a better place. Um first off, um yeah, I can’t I’m glad to have Joe. I’m glad Joe was um joining the family. And um I I think he might have another one on his hand. He look like he knows what he’s talking about, bro. So, you might Oh, yeah. because I know you know it’s like um old school star star search with um your um with your platform bro so um might need to um look out for him. Um, but back to what I was saying though, bro, I’m just so happy about Marcus Smart being on the Lakers, man. Like you, I’ve wanted him like for the OG Laker fans there. There are two players. Well, there are three players that I really wanted on the Lakers. To be honest with you, I didn’t really want Randall. I love Julius. I love Julius Randle, but the three players I always wanted on the Lakers was either Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, or um Marcus Smart. And now we got one of them. and and now we got one of them because he’s a dog. Like he’s going to instill he’s going to instill that fire. And I’m glad that people brought up the comparison of Ron Artes. People remember when Ron Artes first came to the Lakers back in the ’09. Um he was 09 um 2010 season. He was literally on the last leg of his career. He had just got finished playing in Sacramento. Um averaging um no, excuse me, sorry. He was in with the Rockets and um he came over to uh came over to LA. he was kind of on the last bit of his um career and then we rejuvenated his career and he stayed and now he’s known for being a Laker. I feel the same way about Marcus Smart. Marcus Smart is young enough where he can he can ride out um Lucas prime years here just like Ron did with Kobe. And um I and bro, I just don’t I don’t feel like we’re done. I really don’t. I’m curious to see what this consolidation move is going to be. Yeah. Um because I truly believe and bro I I know I put it on the chat but I’ll reiterate it real quick. I feel like and get me if I’m wrong because you know bro you the big brother you know you know if it’s realistic and um it makes sense um you know uh just let me know. But I feel like what we can do in terms of a trade trade Gabe Vincent Maxi Clever Dalton connect and maybe if they’re asking for a little bit more maybe a pick swap. I’m not giving up a first round pick for these two players for Matis Fo and Robert Williams. Oh, I like that. I like that. You put those You put You put those two guys You slapped them. You slapped them right with with um Luca and Marcus Smart. I will move Reeves off the bench. Um have him man the um second unit with Ruie. We don’t have to give up Ruie. You have Robert Williams running the three position because I know people don’t like Jackson Hayes. So, he can be that third string. Bando gets to stay that that um that that wing. He could either he can be a plug and play either starting or coming off the bench. Um and uh and then uh we can sign maybe Josh Kogi or somebody like that to play that two guard position. But literally but literally bro that’s the two players that I’m looking for. If we do that I promise you that is a A+ um offseason. Robert Williams and Marcus Smart played together with the Celtics when they went to the finals in 2022 and their defensive rating was elite. We put those two guys there, we would legit have the best offense and defense hot take offense and defense in the NBA top to bottom. You know what? I like the depth that you mentioned there. I you know I do believe we’re good enough to compete right now which I didn’t last week but last week I was thinking we’re not a top three team right now. We were a top three team last year. I had three teams over us before this move happened. I had I had the Rockets, I had the Thunder, and I had the Nuggets over us before the move happened. However, with this move already, to me, I think we’ll be a top three team. At least we’ll be competing for a top three seed, barring any crazy injuries or anything stupid happening. Um, but with a trade like the one you mentioned to consolidate, that would be awesome. Also, people are saying get Al Horford. Right now, we don’t have the cap or the the room to do it. However, if we do trade a player away or something, if we attach a pick to get rid of a couple of contracts, we might be able to do that, but I think we would have to have an assurance from Al Horford, like we got the assurance from Marcus Smart first before we did anything like that. Um, but I would love Horford. You know, he’d be perfect. I really think we get Horford. Our team is perfect. I know we can still use the bench, but if you move Austin to the bench, it solves a lot of issues, right? Um, so you’re right, man. If we get another deal like that, bro, like you mentioned, Robert Williams would be tremendous, tremendous, tremendous backup player for sure. Um, but I do think, you know, like people are saying, Smart might recruit Horford. I think Luke is doing a great job, man, of recruiting free agents so far. Think about this. He is responsible for recruiting two of our top three free agents we acquired this summer. That’s got to be good news. And the Lakers fans, you got to feel tremendous about that contract extension that’s coming up next week. Remember what I said uh a couple weeks ago that I wasn’t worried about Luca signing the contract extension that everything was there you have it man I think this is confirmation for anybody who was saying oh Luca might not resign this this and that and the third look there we have it man he’s not only going to resign but he’s setting this up for the now and for the future and for the future and bro I’m going to tell you this too um because I can’t wait to hear what the other caller got to say this actually two quick things first this is for all the Laker fans that were were impatient with making moves. All good things come to those who wait. Now, we’re impatient. Now, that’s that’s easier said than done because we’re Laker fans. Without her Lakers fans, we just want the best for the Lakers. Yep. And two, my opinion, this one move, this one move, this Marcus Smart being added to the Lakers really, in my opinion, surpasses everything that the Nuggets did this off season. In my opinion, I agree. And that because when you look at when you look at what they did, they got Bruce Brown back. Okay, he’s not the same player he was two years ago. Still great. He’s still a good player, but he’s too busy acting like a cowboy in Roback Mountain, you know, with the Toronto Raptors, you know? I don’t know. Look like one of the Village people. Like, I don’t I don’t get it, bro. Like, and then you got my boy Cam Johnson. That’s a great move because I believe he’s a better player than um than Michael Porter Jr. And they have uh and then they have Yonunas who got dunked on by a 40-year-old um catching a lob. He’s supposed to he’s supposed to man defense, they have nobody to guard in that par in that interior. So I’m not worried about them. the Houston Rockets. The Houston Rockets, as great as Kevin Durant is, he can’t carry every single thing that they’re that they’re um that the Houston Rockets is going to try to do because literally, even though Shangon is great, he is still inconsistent as an offensive player. He is right. And then Amen Thompson, he’s not there yet. He can he’s going to get there. He has the work ethic. He’s going to get there, but he but he Yeah, he’s he’s he’s they just don’t have enough scoring on that scoring on there to really make a difference. So, I’m not worried about any other team other than OKC to be honest with you. And we know we not ready and we know we not worried about the Clippers. That’s the old folks home. You know, they took the blueprint that we did in 2022 and they put in in 2026. So, you know, good job Clippers. Y’all did a great job. Y’all going to get bounced out of the um playin this year. So don’t even worry about it. Y’all going home early this year. So it’s all good. And check out how basketball index breaks down his defense. Like perimeter isolation defense, he’s a A minus, right? Ball screen navigation, getting to screens, A. 91% of the time he gets through. Off chaser on defense, A+. So off ball, he makes this very dangerous. Pickpocket rating, A minus. Right. And passing lane defense, A. So you’re talking about a top-notch defender when it’s healthy, of course. Um, I think, man, there’s nothing but to be excited about, my brother. Uh, again, thank you so much for the call, bro. I’m excited. I I I can’t my excitement, bro. I’m I’m gonna be a happy man today. And we Absolutely, bro. Lose my [Β __Β ] bro. Yeah, it’s over. And um and bro, to add on to what you was talking about with that defensive stuff with Marcus Smart, they’re getting a healthy Vando this year. If he gets because you know JJ could be weird about that but if he gets pee if he gets Oh my good that’ll be there for sure. All right. Yeah, bro. But I can’t wait to see what else you got, bro. Hey, I keep telling these people they need to listen to Dan Damus. You be you be call you be putting up Hey, you better start giving out lot numbers. You gonna make a whole lot of people rich, bro. Bro, how many times have I guess a player coming here before the offseason even started? This is crazy, bro. I’m Yeah, I’m very humble, but sometimes, man, I I tell you, I surprise myself. This is This is uh definitely had me smiling from ear to ear on my way home, bro. I’m excited. I can’t wait. Hey, bro. Can’t wait, bro. Um y’all have a blessed weekend. Um God bless all you guys and um can’t wait to see what the Lakers do next, guys. Go Lakers. Let’s get number 18. Absolutely, brother. Much love. Appreciate the call, man. Yes, sir. See you, bro. All right, my brother. All right, let me uh see uh what my bro right here got to say real quick. Uh let me see. JB said, “Now I could give a first for Claxton. We get the chip.” I don’t even know if that’s up for trade, but if it is, you might be on to something there. All right, let’s bring in our next caller, man. My good friend Solo. What’s cracking, my guy? What’s happening, Dan? Good to see you, bro. How you doing? I’m doing great, man. Great news, man. How you rating this offseason so far, man? Talk to me. What are your thoughts? I give it an A. I give the same thing as you. I give it an A. Um, I like the acquisitions. Um, only two real question marks I have right now are are DeAndre Aiden. Um, I’m just worried about his motor. I’m worried about his consistency, how he’s going to act when he’s not getting as much touches. Um, how is he how is he going to be able to adjust? and also uh LeBron James. Uh it’s also new territory for him because he’s no longer that dude. You know what I’m saying? And he’s starting to feel that. So, how is that going to affect him uh mentally? Will that affect his game? You know, I mean, we shall see. But I think LeBron James, he’s a he’s a ultimate professional, you know, and I think he’ll he’ll pull through and uh ball out, but remains to be seen. You know what, man? Let me answer a couple of those questions. I think I I think I might have the answer to that. I think the best thing that could have happened to DeAndre Aton was going to Portland and rotting there for a couple of seasons because I think that the the the question marks about his motor and all of that, we might see an unlocked DeAndre playing alongside Luca. Man, remember Luca recruited him because he has a vision for him and I think that vision is going to be catching lobs at the rim. I think he’s going to post them up sometimes and he’s going to make a happy big man. And as a result, I think you’ll see a much higher motor. I think you’ll see him run up and down the court and you’ll see things we probably haven’t seen from him since he was in Phoenix and he was trying to, you know, live up to that first overall pick hype. So, I think he’s gonna I think he’s gonna have careerhigh numbers for the Lakers. Now, the only question I have is will we stay healthy because not only is LeBron 30 what, 41, 42? I lost count, man. He old. Uh but Marcus Smart also, you know, he’s 31 going on to 32 coming off of some major injuries. You know, Austin had the toe injury last year that apparently was worse than we thought because he tried to play through it and he he couldn’t really explode like that to the rim. Uh even missing some chippy layups. So, there is some injury concerns and then Bando coming back is going to be fully healthy finally. Uh but to me, bro, this is probably the most complete roster we’ve had in some time. Probably I could say since 2020. like uh and that’s what gets me excited, just the the completion of the roster. Meaning, if we have some injuries, somebody else can step in there and help us win regular season games. Meanwhile, come playoff time, I think that’s where it gets really good. What’s the rotation look like then? Now, you don’t have no excuses that you can only play five people, uh JJ Reic, because you got some real veterans that can put in that work and can come in and give you some solid minutes. So, again, I think that’s all it does for me. It solves a lot of answers that we had question marks heading into the offseason. But you’re right, they still got to prove themselves and that’s the fun part. Yeah, we covered up a lot of those holes in the dam and uh you know it can only bode well for us if we are healthy because you know a lot of a lot of seasons we just have guys going down left and right, man. And then you would think it’s something small but they’ll be out for weeks. So I’m just hoping that we don’t have any of those concerns coming into the season. Of course, we’re gonna have uh, you know, Nicks here and there, but I just hope these guys are coming in healthy. And on top of that, I hope some of these guys have been in the gym and actually improving their game. Like, Dave Vincent, if he’s going to be here, I need to see improvement, man. Ruy, I love Ruy. Ruy’s my guy. I need to see improvement. I need to see you crashing them boards. You There’s no reason you should be leaving the game with, you know, one or two boards, man. You got to be crashing those boards. if he can get he could start helping on the defensive rebounds, man, that could that would uh dramatically help this team. Um, you know, if slight improvements to to Reeves on the defensive end, you know, I just need to see guys show some growth instead of just coming back the same guy. I need Bando to be able to handle the freaking basketball. Like, you’re in the NBA. Can you please clean up your your handle? You know, can can we get you to make layups? You know, when you have that wide open corner three, can we get at least 30 36% 35% out of you? You know what I’m saying? Absolutely. If we can get some if we can see some growth and improvement out of our bench guys, um, and then if Ree goes to the bench and we can have Marcus starting, I think that would be great for this team. Yes. because then we don’t have any real weaknesses on our starting five or our bench because our bench is pretty deep uh when we look at what we have coming off of the bench. So, we got the Jake Le Jake Jake Laravia, we got Bronnie James, D Connect, uh Austin Reeves is coming off the bench. Um hopefully we’ll have a backup center, but right now um Jackson Hayes, he still rim runs, you know what I’m saying? if he can improve and if he’s been hitting that weight room a little bit, you know, that that’ll help tremendously. So, we’re good. I hope the Lakers uh aren’t done making moves. I hope they’re still seeking out that big I hope uh Marcus Smart is really trying to recruit um Al Horford to this team because not only is Al Horford, granted he’s old, but his experience and his skill set will uh tremendously help this team. especially. I think it’ll help DeAndre Aiden uh because it kind of mentor him a bit. Yep. Yep. Bro, I think again Marcus Smart to me, I’m I’m having trouble deciding who’s the bigger acquisition this offseason. DeAndre Aiden or Marcus Smart? Who’s going to make the bigger impact? We’re going to find out because I think both of those dudes, man, are going to make a huge impact. And especially because if you look at our roster last year, we definitely lacked rim protection. We can’t say that anymore. Now we got a legitimate sevenfooter who can actually averages over a block a game. Uh, you know, we lack perimeter defense. You can’t say that anymore. Now, not only do we have Jordan Goodwin and Vandal, he’s healthy, but now you got Marcus Smart. Now you got options, man. And, you know, to me, I still feel like we’re going to make a trade. If it now by training camp, it’ll be around, you know, after December. Uh, because I think it’s going to round out our roster nicely. I think Gabe Vincent is very expendable now. I think he is. I don’t want to see Gabe Vincent coming off the bench as a first guard. I rather I’ll be honest. I rather give those minutes to Bronn even though he hasn’t proven nothing because he’s got a higher upside and he’ll probably end up showing up more than Gabe Vincent than last year. Let’s be honest. Gabe Vincent great in summer league and this is the time where I thought don’t connect would take off and he look like he’s just uh he’s backsliding right now. So, I’m just hoping that he gets out of his own head because he has to realize that this is the NBA, man. You’re gonna be in trade talks all the time because you ain’t that guy. As much as you might think you are, you’re just not, you know, and if you think you’re going to be in this league, you’re gonna have to show up and show out. And if you can’t do that, you’re you’ll be out of the league real fast. Exactly. So So we got two players on providing deals with a potential contender to to to go deep into the postseason. I think this is the the ultimate motivation for everybody on the roster. Let’s look at everybody’s motivation going down the list. LeBron James, you might be riding off into the sunset soon. You got the ultimate motivation to win. Uh, Luca Don, they called you a fat boy and they traded your ass after you bought a house. Don’t tell me he don’t got motivation. Austin Reeves, a lot of Lakers fans wanting you traded after the playoffs you had last season and you know, for good cause, but you know, you still got a lot to prove to yourself because well, you don’t make a name for yourself in the regular season. You do that in the playoffs. Uh, and then you obviously you got Aiden and Marcus Smart both on prove it contract years. Eightton has more to prove than Smart because we’ve seen what SM can do in his prime when he’s healthy. But Aidton, you got a lot to prove, man. You got to be super freaking hungry. Vando, Vando didn’t even get minutes in the playoffs. He averaged seven minutes a game last playoffs. So, he’s got a lot to prove. So, we got nothing but hungry dogs going down the line. And that to me is a very dangerous team. I’m talking somebody that at least should be able to make it to the Western Conference Finals depending on how you who you match up against and and just how healthy you are in the postseason. I’m I’m excited solo because I haven’t been this excited about a Laker team since 2020 when we got Rondo that I was season and Dwight and you know all these pieces that we needed to to to compete with the newly acquired uh you know um Anthony Davis and you know guys like Anthony Davis they recruit right? So yeah, y low key after that that that championship season, I was excited for the roster. Even though it was a lot of turnover, we acquired a lot of great pieces that we thought would put us over the top, but then injuries happened and, you know, coaching mishaps. So, you know, that went to the wayside. But yeah, I’m I’m excited. Um, I’m excited and I’m I’m even more excited to see how these guys um, like you said, they got a a lot to prove and I’m I’m curious to see who’s going to step up and prove it, you know, because a lot of because from our side, we are we’re invested as Laker fans like we put our money, our time, and our energy into this team. So the way that we feel that players should approach the game, a lot of times they disappoint, right? So I’m just hoping that we have the opposite here and that these guys are as hungry as we believe that they should be and that they’re willing to to, you know, take the next step in order to be in title contention. Yeah. Um yeah, I’m I’m very excited. I’ve been a big fan of Marcus Smart. I’m glad we acquired him. He’s he’s a great piece, a tremendous defender. Um he’s a great leader, you know. Um I had nothing but I’ve seen nothing but great things out of him, especially when he was with the Celtics, he baldled out. You know, he took he took over games a lot of times with the Celtics. So, you know, even though he’s more known for his defensive prowess, we know that he can go get buckets when we need him to. So, absolutely, bro. Hopefully Bando could learn a thing or two because it’s not only just defense, man. You get some buckets, too. Yeah. Yep, man. Hopefully, hopefully um you know, everybody’s healthy come training camp because we forget we drafted an athletic phenom with good defensive potential. Oh, yeah. The rookie. Yeah. Yeah. So, um it’s gonna be fun. Solo, man. Thank you so much for the call, brother. Always fun chopping it up. And I see you with the Captain America, man. I see you, bro. This This the Captain Puerto Rico. Oh, that Oh, it’s a Puerto Rico flag. Okay. Yeah, it’s Puerto Rican flag. Yeah. Okay. I thought, bro, I thought that was the shield. Nice. That’s what we call him anyway. We call him Captain Puerto Rico because his costume looks like the Puerto Rican flag. It don’t look like the American flag. I like that, bro. That’s clean, man. Shout out Puerto Rico for sure, brother. Thank you so much for the call, man. And I hope to talk to you soon, bro. All right, man. Thanks for having me on. Peace, y’all. All right, brother. Man, shout out to Puerto Rico. All right. Uh, guys, I mean, how could you not be excited? I’mma bring in uh I think I got one more caller. My guy just beat I’m bringing him up right now. But look look guys, tell me that don’t just look good. That that just looks right. That looks more like a team that’s more respectable and more well-rounded uh than you know somebody uh you know without Marcus Smart. Honestly, I feel like this move right here just propelled us over the Clippers who had a decent offseason with the Bradley Beal Brook Lopez acquisition. If you ask me who I prefer between Brook Lopez and Bradley Beal versus Marcus Smart and DeAndre Aton, you know, I’m going smart Aton all day. Uh, but you know that it’s it’s lovely because, you know, we felt like we were still a move away. There’s your move right there and now we can kind of chill. Now it’s up to the coaching staff to get it right. I see a lot of negative a lot of negative comments talking about JJ’s not going to use him properly. You may be right, you may be wrong, but he’s got the tools now with no more excuses. All right, let’s bring in our next caller. Man, my guy just B. What’s up, fam? What’s going on with you, fam? Man, how you doing, my brother? I’m ecstatic today, man. I woke up feeling good after hearing these news, bro. I’m feeling good, man. How about yourself? What I say, bro? What didn’t I say? Watch out for Marcus Smart on the man been saying it, man. Um, yeah. Yeah. Shout out to Solo. Shout out to uh CJ. And then welcome welcome uh it was uh John, right? Yeah, Josh. I think it was Josh. Yeah, Josh. Yeah. Yeah. Welcome, welcome, brother. You know, you you’re in good hands here. We’re all family here. Dan is a good dude, man. It’s all love here. Nothing but positivities here and and real stuff here going on, bro. We We talk real stuff here. No bias here, bro. We’re we’re we’re Laker fans here first, bro. It’s all love. Welcome to the family, bro. But again, man, back to the to the signing. I’m excited, man. Um, just like CJ said, Lakers fans, we know back in the day, um, I remember when, uh, when Marcus Mark was trying out for the Lakers, bro, and, uh, there was old videos posted on the on the Lakers Nation channel with Serena W Serena Winters interviewing him, you know, he had on the, uh, the the the Lakers, uh, warm-up jerseys and everything like that before um, the Celtics had uh, snatched them away from us, unfortunately. And then we end up getting Julius right after, I believe. They went like one two like right afterwards. So, uh, definitely, man. So, I’m excited to have, uh, Marcus Smart aboard, bro. He’s gonna do his final destination. He was destined to be a Laker. I always like that brand player. Just very old school, man. And, you know, we really missed Alex Kuso. We saw what he did in the finals. And, uh, we got a similar player, not the same, obviously. I still would prefer Caruso. He’s a bit, you know, on the healthier side. Uh, but Marcus Smart is is the same pedigree, man. He’s up there with the Brogdens and the Carusos of the world. you know, he’s right there. So, this is just amazing gift for us, man. And I think it just gives us a different look, you know, just a different look that we didn’t have because he brings a lot because like you said, you know, whether um he starts or he comes off the bench, he can he can play with point guards, he can also be an offball player as well because he done played with the Drew Holidays. He played with, you know, with White and everybody. He’s he’s brought the ball up the floor, but he’s also been an offball player as well while while another point guard has been on the court as well. Plus, he’s not too far removed from getting that defensive player of the year, bro. That wasn’t too long ago. And if I remember right, he’s the last guard to have won the defensive player of the year since who? Jordan, I think. Yeah. Yeah. So, that that says a lot about this guy, man. His his his intensity and everything he’s going to bring on the on that end. He’s going to be, you know, hold guys accountable. I believe he’s going to be that veteran on the on the bench, you know, and I don’t see him taking up too much minutes. So, I know injuries are a concern for a lot of people, but I don’t see him taking up so much minutes and then um you know, during the regular season, but he’s going to be there um plugging in a lot of uh good minutes for us, man, because we we are so stacked all around. And I think he’s going to he’s going to hold everybody else accountable defensively. You know, everybody’s going to kind go as he goes. I can see Reeves kind of getting dirty a little bit because he sees he got Martin Smart right next to him, you know. Um, and I think too from what I heard, I watched a little bit of the Lakers Nation podcast uh before I jumped on here and um they were saying the path to kind of to make this move happen might be um you know, Waving Milton and maybe even Goodwin. I hate to see Goodwin go, but the positivity would be we would open two slots in that sense and then there’s there you go. There’s another move. So, I do kind of like uh what they’ve been doing this offseason without giving up so many assets and they’re kind of like making things happen with getting guys in on u in these situations good guys at that u and then you still keep your assets you know just like uh Solo and CJ was saying you know you still you can still flip a Maxi Clever a Gabe Vincent that’s still sitting there Dalton if he doesn’t pan out my by like mid-season I don’t want to give up on him yet but I know you seen my post the other day when uh you know after the last summer league game when I was And you know, he’s got to get over himself, bro. Dawson’s got um got to get over himself, man. It’s part of it, man. And um you know, he he’ll be okay as long as he gets out of his own head and goes out there and performs. When your name is called, that’s when that’s when the you know, that’s when the light the the lights are bright, bro. You got to get out there and do what you got to do. So, stop pouting. But you uh he he’ll be okay. But uh I’m excited about this this signing, bro. Me, too, man. And I’m even more excited to know that not only is Luca invested in the Lakers long term, but he’s already recruiting for the Lakers and he’s got an impact because people love him. Yeah. Same way Laker fans love him, players love him. Everywhere he goes, you can see that admiration in the in the veterans. You can see people give him a hug and and smiling with him. And he’s a very likable dude because one, he’s humble and two, he’s an absolute beast. So, he recruited two potential starters with the Lakers and that’s smart. And so, imagine when we actually hit free agency once LeBron retires and we have a max slot. You don’t think he’s going to be able to recruit a Giannis type, man. Man, oh man. Oh, boy. Everybody gonna be lined up knocking at the door to come to LA, baby. So, let’s let’s let’s get it, man. I’m excited as hell for that. Um, I think somebody said it before. Um, if they can bring in Al Horford, I wouldn’t mind him coming in to be a a veteran role player and even a mentor for uh for Aiden to kind of light that fire and make sure that, you know, he’s kind of doing his thing because that’s what’s needed as well because if he’s got Hayes behind him, he’s not going to listen to Hayes. I mean, you know, Hayes ain’t, you know, but but Horford, that’s a different story, you know. He gonna be on his he gonna be on his P’s and Q’s and stuff, man. So yeah, knows him already. So, you know, hopefully um you know, they’re able to, you know, communicate through free free agency. I know free agents and I knew once the Bradley be thing I knew there was something holding up free agency. Once that happened, we started getting, you know, we got Dane, now we got Marcus Smart and and all that good stuff. So, I mean, this is it’s a beautiful thing right now, bro. And we still have potential to get even better even better as we speak. So hopefully that continues and we can maybe get one more move and I will be real real sure that the Lakers are true championship contenders. But right now I’m excited. I know you’re excited and come quick enough, man. Quick enough, brother. Hey, bro. For real. [Β __Β ] Hey, I’m I’m still I don’t care, bro. I’m greedy. I still kind of want to make that call for Walker Kesler to go alongside Aiden or something, man. Cuz you get that that that inside out presence on the on the defense, man. from from he’s blocking shots while Aiden’s doing his thing, man. Oh my gosh, man. Make that call. Make that call. But Danny A, he’s a little stingy right now. So, Danny hater, bro. Danny A is a hater, but he drinking a haterade and stuff, man. Right. But it just feels good, brother. Thank you so much for the call, man. And I hope we get more. I think we’re gonna get more good news. So, going live, man. I think pretty sure Luca will extend at some point in August. Uh, and, you know, I can’t wait to break all all of it down with you guys. But, thank you so much. Yeah, we’ll be here for that, bro. Always love. You do your thing, man. You’ve been doing your thing for a long time. Once again, everybody and anybody else that’s new that that joined today. Welcome, baby. Let’s go. Thank you, my brother. Appreciate you, man. Have a blessed weekend. Have a great care, man. Stay blessed. Peace. And shout out to my brother. Listen, man. It’s been a great It wasn’t supposed to be phone call Friday, but since we missed the video yesterday, we did one today. I’ll answer a couple of comments. If you guys still want to call, listen, man. It’s all good vibes. You guys got something negative to say, I’ll take that, too, man. We could debate about Marcus Smart or whatever, but the link is right there in the chat. Faux life. Appreciate you, bro. Coming through with the 20 piece. Love it, man. He said, “Hey, Dan. Respect. Great content is always salute, my brother.” He says, “Smart move for the Lakers. Let them know the great Kobe. If anything is number two and four all time peace, I got you, man.” Listen, this is what I’m about to say about Kobe. All right? Because today I saw a post that I did not like. Let me see if I can find it for you guys. And it pissed me off. It really ticked me the hell off. And and right after I I commented on this, the Lakers made a move, so I almost forgot. But um this post pissed me off because they continue to disrespect Kobe and they’re making it they’re making it a trend, which I don’t like. Right. And so because you you commented, I’mma address this for you real quick. This is what Shaq had to say. Shaq on his time with Kobe said uh but what also could have been he said our guy Kobe had room uh to operate because I got three people on me that’s cap Kobe created his own space needed nobody’s help all right probably get a lot of flack but always said to myself I think I could have got three in a row with team [Β __Β ] he got zero with Penny uh who was just as great of an offensive player he said I think I could have got two with Vince Carter [Β __Β ] Vince Carter didn’t win none so there’s no merit to that and he said oh and I could have get got six with Steph which is mega crap. Mega crap. Cuz Steph is not even half the player Kobe Bryant is offensively. I don’t want to hear. Just cuz somebody shoots better threes don’t make him a better player. So Shaq, I’m disappointed in you. I was already disappointed in you when you was bullying Dwight Howard. All right. Who helped us to a title. Now I’m really disappointed in you because you you starting to ride the wave and Lakers fans are not going to be happy about that because you know it’s all about not following trends. T-Mac, Gilbert Arenas, and all these non-winners wanted to come out and say something about Kobe and now you got a great like Shaq. I’m not going to disrespect because he’s a great always will, but he’s he’s going off the rails and totally unwarranted. If they wasn’t saying this [Β __Β ] when he was alive, please don’t say it after he passed. You know what I mean? Like, and I say that with all due respect to Shaquille Oatmeal, okay? Cuz because uh he’s eating all the crap and all the BS and uh you know, I I really didn’t respect that. But thank you so much for this for the super super chat. My guy F Life always showing love, man. I appreciate you, man. Uh let me update you guys. What’s up, Dan? I just got home to the news. Yes, as I wanted over two months ago, man, Marcus Smart is officially a Laker. All right. He was bought out by the Washington Wizards and uh once he clears waiverss, he will officially sign. The Lakers will most likely wave one, if not two players, Shake Milton, the prime candidate. So, for those of you just tuning in, yes, it did happen. And uh you know Marcus Martin is unofficially a Laker, but he will be in a couple of days officially that there’s still a chance we go into the season and make a move then I agree and I like a couple of expiring contracts that are very tradable. Gabe Vincent is one of them. Okay, Maxi Clever is another one and I forgot who the other one is, but we still have expendable tradable contracts which is the biggest thing. We’ve improved this off seasonason without giving up most of our of our assets or any at all. Yeah, we did lose one person and that was Dorian Finny Smith. But again, we lost one and we gained three. We’ll take that anytime. Let’s see. My guy said DTLF, would you trade Ruie, Dalton, Gabe for uh Dylan Brooks? Uh Ruie, Dalton, and Gabe. That’s too much. I don’t want to give up that much. I’ll give you Gabe. To me, Ruie more gifted offensively and less out of control, u you know, offensively. So, I I rather keep Ruy, but Dalton and Gabe I consider still a little bit too much. I know Dalton struggling right now. I still believe in his potential. All right, let’s bring in our next caller. My guy D Prince in the building. What’s up, bro? How you doing, man? Yeah, good. How are you? Very, very good, man. Very happy. Couldn’t be happier, bro. These next two months, I’m gonna be so happy. I want to fall asleep right now and wake up in October, baby. That’s what I want to do. Uh but uh um like that one song uh Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day, man. It’s perfect. It’s perfect for now. Um what are your thoughts, man, on on all the acquisitions? Talk to me. Uh I’m happy. Uh before the Marcos Smart signing, uh it was uh really kind of 50/50 going to the season because we we really uh have a lot of holes in the in our roster constructed. But now I’m happy because we got that uh defensive dog in Marcus Mark and we just added like a collection of former Celtic uh turning to Laker and that that will be a very good story to to tell to my kids someday. But uh with this uh with this signing, we are like um I I feel like we just need one more one to two more um moves to make in order for us to be like really a championship contender. I I believe that we are now championship championship contender, but I still think that we need more moves to be like really solid a solid team to compete with OKC and Houston. Uh and I agree with you earlier that uh we we leaprogged uh Denver already uh in the power ranking in my opinion uh just because uh we got this um young acquisitions of uh Larabia and DeAndre Aon and then now we have a defensive dog and Martin Smart. So that propels us over Denver Nuggets. But I can still see like top three or four in my opinion. Yeah. You know what, man? Bottom line is we acquired two starting caliber players without giving up anything, right? There’s no there’s nothing nobody could say with any merit to say this was a bad pickup. Like this guy just said trash pickup, but he don’t have nothing to back it up with, right? So, it’s like, okay, um you know, the Lakers have improved this off seasonason. Now what, right? How much more can we improve? And we still have chips we can push to the center of the table if we really want to fully propel us forward, right? because if we now go turn around and make a move, get somebody like a Kesler or somebody else, I think now that really would put us over the top, right? So, um, but right now we I think we are in contention. I absolutely agree that now we leaprog the Denver Nuggets for better off season, right? We got two starting caliber players. They got one. So, again, very excited, man. And and I can’t wait to see what’s next. I still feel my gut tells me, you know, my gut is rarely wrong, bro. especially when it’s hungry, you know, but my gut rarely tells me, you know, uh something and then it doesn’t happen. And I feel like the Lakers will still make a trade at some point. Like I said, it might be in December, it might be before training camp, but it feels like we’re still a trade away or half a trade away, right? Um but again, this this makes me very happy because we’re right there. We’re right there at the door. Yeah, I’ve seen I’ve seen so many negativity in the in the chat. So just I want to say guys that we need to be thankful that we got this guys without giving up anything. You you realize that that we we got Larabia, we got Aan and now we got Smart not giving up anything yet. That’s a very solid uh off season so far in my opinion. Um we have not teams are trying to flee us. So it’s not like we want prob to like u do a trade just to do a trade and you know um mortgaging a future. So, we should be thankful for these moves that uh these are like low uh lowrisk, high reward moves. So, I I feel like it’s a it’s a very good offseason for Robin already in the the Lakers. Um if we do do a trade for Max Kiba or Gabe Vincent, that would be that would put it like a solid A or A+ for him and the team. So, yes, I just don’t want to have any negativity right now. I’m happy with the moves that we we made so far. just need patience in this game. Listen, here’s here’s the bottom line. You’re showing your true colors. If you are hating on this move, you’re talking about a two twoyear 11 million player for by annual exception money for Marcus Smart. You know what I mean? Like that is awesome. We currently don’t even have access to that. We need a waveshake Milton um just to even start. But you get a player of that caliber with that much playoff mileage under him that has all that experience who’s going to help younger guards who by the way play with Jake Larabian spoke highly of them when he was a Memphis. Um you know to join a team without giving up anything you’re out your freaking mind. Either that or you’re just hating if you don’t think the Lakers improve this offseason. You got DeAndre top first overall pick a couple years back. Now you get Marcus Smart a top a top seven pick in his draft. You’re accumulating talent without giving it. This is addition without subtraction. You have absolutely improved the roster and you have done it by keeping all your flexibility for the future and for the now just in case you want to do a trade. I don’t know where where in anybody’s mind this was a bad move, right? Anybody saying he’s overrated? Crazy talk. You guys must not be watching NBA because when he’s healthy, you talking about one of the better perimeter defenders in the league. You’re talking about a top 10 perimeter defender in this league when healthy. Seriously, you can’t name me 10 players that are better from the perimeter when they’re healthy than Marcus Smart. You cannot. So, um, again, Drew Holiday, uh, Alex Karu, so we can we can name a couple, but not a lot, bro, to be honest. So, again, this is beautiful to watch and and just like I said earlier in Dree echoes the same sentiment. He said this is the exact archetype player Bronny used to emulate. So, this is great for him. I said this earlier, great minds think alike. I said biggest winner Bronnie James. All right. Needs to pattern his game after Marcus Smart. I always said Iman Shumpert was his archetype. Marcus Smart is even higher silling archetype. So, wow. I mean, this is a win-win. And you can’t be happy then you’re not a Laker fan. Ain’t that right? Uh uh ain’t that right, my bro? I agree. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. Uh I actually just synced into me now that it could be like it could be a a Marcus Smart type of player. uh Bronny Bronnen. So is that is that just that we acquired him uh with his services or like his defensive uh defensive skill, but we we also have acquired a possibility of him mentoring uh younger guys especially Bronny that has this def defensive potential. So we we need to like uh see this thing in the bigger in the bigger picture not just like feeling is negative. Oh, he’s all this injuryrone. We didn’t give up anything. So, it’s a it’s really again it’s a high-risisk low no low risk high reward move. So, and I don’t see any negative things about about this signing. If we wave shake Milton uh what’s what’s there to to be negative about, right? And this he says smart isn’t the same in 2022 2033 Mark Smart. We know that because if he was the same he went and got bought out. Duh. Like that’s common sense, Ronnie. Uh are you Ronnie from 2K, man? Because you’re not making any sense right now. Listen, at the end of the day, I’ll tell you this to all the naysayers out there. We got this man for the free. Didn’t come out of the fans pocketbooks. Okay? We didn’t give up any assets. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with getting a guy who’s not the same as he was, but still has tremendous potential on the roster. I rest my case. Sorry. Sorry to interrupt you, Prince. I just gota Yeah, it’s okay. I was just saying that if we gave up Dalton Ruy and some picks for him, then yeah, maybe I agree that it will be a bad move, but we didn’t give up anything. So, there’s really nothing to mop about about this move. So, again, I just gonna just gonna say the same thing over and over again. It’s a a low risk, high reward. That’s just it. Yes. If if he if he doesn’t work out, then what’s there to lose about, right? We can just wave him or or worst case scenario, we can just wave him. So, we didn’t give ev anything or even a pick. So, and it looks like Yeah, it’s just 31. Yeah, I I agree with the other guy there. It’s just 31. Is that just like a wrong side of the 30s? Yeah, absolutely. 31, man. So, we’re we’re good and he’s seasoned and he’s ready, Ronnie. So, eat your heart out, Ronnie. He said he’s a Dallas Maverick fan. That explains the saltiness, man. You’re saltier than a Ritz cracker right now in the chat, Ronnie. Uh but again, thank you so much for the call, D Prince. Uh uh you know, again, everything you said is on point, my guy, and let’s hope for the best. I mean, we’re not guaranteed anything in this league. You’re not guaranteed a single thing. You know what I mean? I feel like we’re not done yet anyways. Yeah, we’re not done yet. We still have all our flexibility. So, eat your heart out, haters. We We’ll be here all year. Thank you very much. Come again. Uh we appreciate you. Uh deep friends, man. Enjoy the rest of your day, bros. Shout out to you and your family. We call it all the way from the Philippines, man. One of my favorite callers. Appreciate you, my brother. Thank you so much. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you, Dan. Have a good God bless you and your family as well. You, too, brother. Take it easy, man. Thanks, man. Shout out to D Prince, man. Look, positivity, guys. If you’re negative about this, you’re exposing yourself. All right. Ronnie just exposed himself as a Maverick fan, but I like how he’s peeking over the blinders. Uh, you know, he’s being nosy about our team. Here’s the thing. Uh, if I’m going to be honest with you, Ronnie, I like your team. I like the Dallas Mavericks, actually. Um, I think you guys have a bright future. However, I still think we won that trade with Luca by far and I don’t think you guys are contenders this year just because you got the first overall pick. But I do like your first overall pick and the future’s bright. Still need Kyrie. We’ll see. Hopefully AD stay healthy all year. I’m not going to throw hate your way just because, you know, just because you came at me that way, but uh it is what it is, man. I’m with you die hard. He said it’s never enough for casuals, haters in the media. Shout out detail. Shout out to you, brother. Shout out to you, man. Uh, I want to see all of these people when Smart is balling out. They won’t come back or either they’re ch they’ll change their name or they’re alias or something or they’ll say something stupid enough to get blocked, right? So, it’s okay. I love the haters, man. They it makes me happier, you know? I could taste their tears of anger, deceit, and jealousy uh all under one chat, man. Uh, shout out to Ronnie. All right, I’m gonna call him Ronnie 2K. All right, because he he’s he’s steady lying to himself, but not the community. We know what it’s about. We know what it’s about. Uh, yeah. And then once you start disrespecting, you get blocked. I hope you can find your way home because you’re at the wrong channel. But this is in the Dallas Maverick fan channel. He’s I want to see. I already read that one. Let’s see. Let’s forget OKC just won a chip with only one star. OKC is extremely deep. They’re still who we’re chasing, you know. Um, they they are still who we are. Oh, can we go block them already? All right. Deuces. you know, the Thunder are still the measuring tape. They’re they’re the they’re going to be here for the next five to 10 years if they play their cards right. So, um yeah, you know, it is what it is. But yeah, he he recruited Marcus and I told you guys you had absolutely nothing to worry about when it came to uh our guy Luca the Dawn because yes, he did recruit. So, shout out to Luca, man. He’s already putting in he’s already doing the Lord’s work out here, recruiting, putting putting work on the ones and twos, you know, and being a real leader, man. Shout out to him. And I’ll be honest, uh, him and LeBron have done a tremendous job over the last couple years recruiting elite talent. So, even though Robinka will get the credit for for, you know, getting them to sign an undotted line, we have to give our players some credit here, right? Uh, Sharon says, “Some people just try to steal your joy. They’re miserable people. They You know what’s crazy, Sharon? They make me happier.” You know, to know that uh they’re not happy about this move only makes me feel like I should be happier about this move, right? Um, so again, it’s it’s it’s awesome and I get a couple of jokes off and everybody laughs and has a good time. Look, my guy said Ronnie from 2K. I got you, man. You got if you know, you know. Um, but you know, we’re going to stay positive because the Lakers have made a major move here. Don’t let the foolery and the haters fool you. Not only have they secured Marcus Smart, but it looks to me as they have secured Luca the Dawn and that contract extension. He’s eligible August the 2nd. So stay tuned because I will be celebrating that as well. And the haters can eat their heart out. Remember haters were saying he’s going to walk as soon as he gets an opportunity and LA doesn’t deserve him. This this and that in the third. It’s called jealousy. That’s what jealousy sounds like. And it’s okay, you know. It’s okay. But I’m I’m different. I’m not jealous of their teams. I’m happy for the Mavericks. Uh I feel like they’re real fans, the ones that aren’t here trolling on my channel. They deserve happiness after losing Luca. So I’m happy they got Cooper Flat. Um however, that’s not going to make the it’s not going to make the impact they think is going to make this year because they think they’re contenders right away, right? And I told you guys last year, even though they thought they won the trade, I said, “We’ll get further than them, and you will see.” And sure enough, we did, even though it wasn’t by much, but you know, I’m expecting the same this year. Let’s see. Dan, did you see Anthony Irwin’s tweet? They looking for consolidation trade. Um, you you got to watch what sources you get your information from. You know, I don’t really watch a lot of his tweets because I don’t believe what he says. because I feel like he throws things into the wall and some of them stick and some of them don’t. I have a real source so I go to my source directly and he tells me what has uh some validity and what doesn’t, right? So, shout out to my source. You know who you are. I will never burn my sources. But uh but yeah, that’s who I go to and that’s who provides me insider information. Uh let’s see. Style of play matters most. I’m still concerned about the turnover issues on the team with LeBron, Luca, and AR. Offensive flow is key to the deep, but remember this. Remember this. If, and I say this is a big if, if you can solve the defensive issues, that solves a lot of your offensive issues. So now you get out in transition, you get easy buckets, and it just it builds momentum. If you can lead with your defense to your offense, now we got a real championship contender, right? So yeah, that that’s that’s what we’re going for right there. And shout out to Kimmy Go putting putting it down on the ones and twos. But all in all, guys, I couldn’t be happier. And there’s nobody who can steal our joy. Nobody, right? And I’m so happy that Luke is out here recruiting, proving what he said. And that was a quote that was viral today where he said he wanted he wanted to be the guy that brings multiple championship, not one, but multiple championship to the city of Los Angeles. And that is the standard we’re going to hold them to. That’s the standard we hold every superstar to. So there will be a lot of pressure and criticism for our guy Luca. But that doesn’t mean we don’t love him. It just means we have extremely high expectations for the young Buck, man. He’s he’s only 20 uh what is he? 26 27. Lost count. I think he just turned 27. So, um, you know, very exciting stuff. Great addition, guys. And I’ll be dropping more videos about this acquisition, about the fit, about everything, man. So, make sure you guys keep it locked. Turn on that post noty bell, guys. That is going to wrap it up for your boy, man. If you guys are just tuning in, make sure to rewind this video. We got a lot of valuable information, some great calls, but it is breaking news. It’s official. Marcus Smart will be joining the Lakers after his buyout has concluded as a free agent. And uh man, this is uh as you guys know, I’ve been in hot pursuit of this guy for the last couple years. If you guys have been fans of the channel, you know, I’ve always said Marcus Smart would be a perfect fit on the Lakers. And I’m just happy that my dream came true today. We got one of my favorite type of old school mentality players that’s truly going to elevate this roster. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, he’s going to elevate us. And that is the most important thing, man. But let’s go Lakers, baby. You guys know, you guys know I got you guys covered. If anything breaks, you know where to find your boy. All right, appreciate you guys. Don’t forget to hit the like button. This video was brought to you and sponsored by Prize Picks and of course underdog promo code DTLF. We get you guys, you know, deposit matches and free uh promo credit entries. All right, so make sure you guys stay tapped in. Appreciate you guys so much. Going to wrap it up for me. All right, signing off. Hope to see you guys later tonight. Maybe even make another video tonight or tomorrow. All right, enjoy the rest of your evening, guys. Don’t let the haters steal your joy. Go Lakers, baby.

  1. He will definitely improve the Lakers perimeter defense for sure. Hopefully, they can sign another athletic 3d 2-way wing like Amir Coffey for a veterans minimum contract by trading Gabe Vincent. It will help keep us under the 1st apron.

  2. BIG PICKUP!!!!! Marcus is a very strong, fearless, and hard-nosed defender!!!! Hopefully, his work ethic and attitude will rub off on our other players. Both KCP and Caruso, who both won two rings, one with the Lakers, have been sorely missed on the defensive perimeter! Marcus helps move the needle, but it's up to the coaching staff to construct the best lineup and rotations!

  3. You got a defensive guard who can guard allstar talents like sga booker curry ant man etc i think he will be rejuvanlized on the lakers . He been on 2 garbage teams with no purpose now that will change

  4. We needed someone that Defense is legit and brings True Grit! I definitely remember a game where he lit us up from 3 so hope 3&D continues! Go Lakeshow Go!

  5. I dunno DT. I like your enthusiasm but there is a reason Memphis ran away from Smart. And washing didn't want. Injury prone, not the same player streaky shooter and loves to chuck 3s.

  6. Who's the guy that came with Luka? Is he any good? I'M HYPED AS WELL!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β€β€β€πŸ’ͺ🏾πŸ’ͺ🏾πŸ’ͺ🏾πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

  7. Imagine Goodwin, Smart, Luka, LeBron, and Ayton. Then A R, Vandal, Rui, Kleber, and Bronny. we also got Hayes if we need to go big Dalton and Ravia n case

  8. Dan imagine a strong big lineup of Marcus Smart at the 1, Luka at the 2, maybe a Wiggins or another 2 way playa at the 3, LeBron at the 4, and Atyon 5 πŸ’― πŸ’ͺ🏽

  9. Dan what's the beef between you and the locker room ? I want to get you guys in a call and work it out. Laker fans gotta stick together !!! Kiss and hug boys
