The Portland Trail Blazers Are Building Something SPECIAL…
There is something special brewing in Portland. The Portland Trailblazers all of a sudden find themselves in a great situation. Not only are they loaded with young talent, but now they are welcoming back Damen Lillard as Lillard has signed to a three-year $42 million contract which marks a historic return for the 35year-old. Of course, Lillard was dealt in that three team trade in 2023 to the Bucks. He stayed there for two years. Then the Bucks waved him this off season in favor of Miles Turner. And now Lillard, he is back in what has turned into such a feelgood story. He will be recovering from an Achilles injury this season, but he’s expected to be back for the 2026 2027 season as all of a sudden the roster with Damen Lillard looks very enticing. Lillard is going to be that veteran presence. He’s going to be a key mentor for these young guys as they continue to grow and develop this season. And then the season after that with Lillard in the mix, this Trailblazers team could be ready to compete in the West. In this one, I’m going to be taking a look at the Blazers and why they are truly building something special. Do me a solid, guys. Drop a like on the video. Smash that subscribe button. We just hit 40K subscribers. We’re on the road to 50K. It is free to subscribe. It helps a ton. All of a sudden, the Blazers, they have all kinds of flexibility and upside on their roster. And you look at the type of season the Blazers just had. They’re coming off a strong 2024, 2025 season. They were in the playing mix for a good portion of the second half of the season. And let’s not forget, they added Drew Holiday. And it’s crazy how now Holiday and Lillard are on the Blazers just a few years after they were involved in the same deal. And the Blazers, they got a promising young core when you have players like Scoot Henderson who’s expected to take on a bigger role this season. You got Advia who really burst onto the scene. You got Hansen who really impressed that summer league. Cllingon, Shaden Sharp. There are so many great young players in the mix here. As you look at the Blazers projected lineup all of a sudden with Lillard in the mix for the following season, Lillard’s going to start. You would think at the shooting guard they could either go with Drew Holiday or Shaden Sharp. Advilla is definitely going to be in that small forward role. They could roll out with Jeremy Grant. Then you got Cllingan. And then the bench, the depth behind those guys is going to be absolutely stacked. You’re going to have Holiday. You’re going to have Scoot Henderson. You’re gonna have Kamar who could very well even make a bid to start for this season. Chris Murray, Yang Hansen. You look at this team top to bottom, there is a lot of depth. There’s a lot of great potential from these players. And I know Lillard isn’t considered a 1A superstar anymore, and he’s definitely not the superstar he once was with the Blazers, but the Blazers are banking that after he takes this full year to recover, he can come back and make a huge impact on a team that should be ready to take a step forward in the West. He did average 24.9 points, 7.1 assists, and 58 games for the Bucks this past season. And I really am interested to see how the Blazers are going to look this season because I think even with OAME, they could still be competitive and give team fits because you look at Advilla, he broke out in a big way. He showed that he can be a star in Portland. I mean, you look at what he did towards the end of last season. He was a legitimate top 50 player in the game. A big reason why the Blazers made a leap. And the Blazers, they put the ball in his hands more. they allowed him to create for himself and his teammates. He was loading up the box score, just doing it all. Scoring, assisting, his true shooting was high, points per game, all that. And I’m interested to see how that dynamic is going to look when Lillard is back into the mix because he’s one of the most ball dominant players in recent memory. So, is there a world where we can have, you know, Lillard and Advia truly flourish and they can still have Advia’s usage be high even when Lillard is back into the mix. So, this is a good situation to have because when you have all this promising young talent, now it’s about putting the puzzle pieces together. And then another thing I’m very interested in looking at for this season is Yang Hansen. He was the star of Summer League. Let’s call it for what it is. He averaged 10.8 8 points, five rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.3 blocks, and four appearances. And obviously, this is going to take time for him to get acclimated to the NBA level, but he looked good amongst the summer league players. We saw the type of upside he has. The reason why the Blazers took a chance on him by drafting him as high as they did is because they saw something in Hansen. They saw that Nicola Joic, Alfred Sangunesque play in Hansen. And this is going to be a huge season for him to develop behind Klingan getting, you know, into the rotation and really showing what he can do. Like he’s got phenomenal playmaking skills at his height. I loved how he was able to show that three-point shot. You look at the Blazers, this is going to be a year where they’re going to continue to just build on what they did last season. Like this is a phenomenal defensive team. You look at the defense this team is going to be bringing in with Lillard out, you would think they’re going to go with Drew Holiday, Shaden Sharp, Advia Grant, and Cllingan. Like the defense on this team is going to be absolutely insane. And then you hope the offense can come along. But obviously, you know, Lillard the next season’s going to help with that. And then you’re also looking at a guy in Scoot Henderson to take a leap this season. And I think Scoot benefits greatly from all this. I know people are saying he’s on borrowed time now because Lillard’s back, but I think it’s going to help Scoot Henderson because now you’re going to have Damen Lillard to learn from offensively and you’re going to have Drew Holiday to learn from defensively. So Scoot can really just absorb as much as he can this season and really take that step forward. So you can never have too much talent. The Blazers, they’re going to use this season to see where they stand, see what this team can truly do. Then you’re adding Lillard, who I think once fully healthy, he’s still going to give you value, especially offensively. We know he can still put up points. So, the Blazers are fascinating situation to me. Like, I look at this full lens. They’re building something promising. They got all these great young pieces. Now, you’re adding Damen Lillard who wants to end his career with Portland. He could have something left as an encore in the later stage of his career before he calls it a career. Portland, they’re going to be a serious player, I think, in a few seasons. And I think this season, maybe they’re going to be back continue for a playing spot, but I think this is going to be another year of development, but then next year and the year after that, like they could very well take a giant leap in the West. So, I think special things are coming for Portland. You just got to have patience. But I think at the very least, this is going to be a fun, exciting team to watch. And I think that’s what Portland Trailblazers fans are looking forward to. Like you look at this roster top to bottom, there are so many unique lineups, unique storylines and developments that you’re going to be looking out for. And the young guys are once again going to get ample opportunities to prove what they can do. So, we’ll see how this all comes together for Portland. But I really like Portland’s situation. I I think their future is bright. I truly do. Even with Damen Lillard, I know a lot of people are saying, should the Blazers have brought back Lillard because they do have a crowded guard room, but I think this is a nice balance now of you having some veteran guys, veteran guards and Drew Holiday and Lillard and then the young guys. So, I think that’s going to end up being a good mix for this team. So, let me know your thoughts, guys. How do you think the Portland Trailblazers look and how do you think they stack up for the future? Drop a like, subscribe to the channel for more. As it for me, Luke signing off. Thanks for watching. I will catch you all again in the next
The Portland Trail Blazers have a bright future.

Portland gonna be deadly icl wait till Lillard comes back all the guys gonna be developed
Dame came back with more assets and a young defensive team
Yang will actually be starting at PF playing alongside Clingan. Clingan is more natural Center while Yang is a better perimeter player and floor general. They compliment each other really well.
Thank you, this is what I was looking for. The Blazers are one of the deepest teams in the league and they have a bunch of draft picks in the next few years well. They are deeper than the Lakers, Mavs, Nuggets and Kings for sure – and I think the Clippers and Warriors are finally going to age out, while the Pels and Suns are cooked. Only the Spurs are rising as a non-playoff team. I think next year the Blazers could have a Houston/Detroit type of breakout and THEN Dame comes back. They could be real contenders in two years – I think you are underselling ALL NBA Defensive player Toumani Camara. – he will start. I also think Robert Williams III is a top tier center when not injured – and he will play heavy minutes as trade bait or be kept on a team friendly deal. That same thing is true of Matisse Thybulle. You could have a #1 defense with Jrue, Tisse, Deni, Camara, and DC at times. Thanks for noticing – most channels are just like "Dame put family over rings" – but us Blazers homers are like "No, he came to Portland to win his ring". Anyway – thanks for the video, subbed – I hope you have some good observations on other teams.
They will win a chip by 2030!!!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees this
depending on how Scoot does this season, and if Sharpe can improve on 3/D the 26/27 season is gonna have a crazy rotations to play with.
Excellent point: Scoot and Shaedon have Jrue to learn defense and Dame to learn offense.
I hope Dame comes off the bench as a super 6th man. his D is atrocious! Needs to be 6th man
I be surprise if the Blazers don't make the playoffs. Will be fun to watch.
Its been a great week to be a Blazer freak!]!] Welcome home Dame!]!]
Having Camara on the bench and grant as the starter is CRIMINAL. Camara is 100% starting
