1995 Orlando Magic Explained #shorts

This was the 1995 Orlando Magic. A team built on youth, swagger, and star power. Hardway off. Beautiful dish in. The Magic finished the season 57 and 25. The first seed in the East, first on offense and 13th on defense. And at the center of it all, a 22-year-old Shaquille O’Neal, already the most dominant big man in the league. And next to him, a 23-year-old Penny Hardaway, an all-NBA first teamer who could score, pass, and float. But the Magic weren’t just stars. They had veterans, shooters, and grit. Head coach Brian Hill kept everything in sync. Their rotation, Shaq and Penny ran the show. Nick Anderson was their two-way glue. Dennis Scott was their sharpshooter. Hit 169 threes that year. And Horus Grant gave them championship toughness and rebounding. And off the bench, Brian Shaw, Donald Royal, Anthony Bowie, and Tree Rollins all brought experience and stability to the team. Enter the 1995 NBA playoffs. First round versus Celtics. The Magic obliterated Boston in game one. The final score, 124 to7, one of the biggest blowouts in playoff history. Orlando then went on to win the series 3 to1. Second round vers Chicago. MJ was back with the Bulls, but there were new sheriffs in town. Game one, it was down to the final seconds. Tensions were high. Jordan has the ball. Then Nick Anderson did the unthinkable. Anderson. And immediately after the game, Nick Anderson talked trash to Jordan, saying that 45 isn’t 23. Game two, Jordan responded with 38 points and a win. But the Magic, they just kept coming. And in game six, Magic down by one, Nick Anderson did it again. Now Anderson go against CO, he can take him to the basket. Oh my goodness. He hit the dagger two for the win. That and the superstar duo of Shaq and Penny along with Dennis Scott scored a combined total of 69 points to send Jordan home packing. Then came the conference finals versus the Pacers. It was a grueling sevengame series, but Orlando adjusted and blew out the Pacers in game seven. Shaq averaged 27 points and shot 66% from the series. And Penny put up 20 and seven with 52% shooting. Magic advanced to the finals. Then came the finals and it all went downhill from here. Game one, Nick Anderson misses four straight free throws. He couldn’t handle it. 12 of 15 at the line. Anderson anyway. They were going to do it by committ. And he misses. And with the Magic up three, Kenny Smith hits a clutch three to tie it. Then Hakee wins it in overtime. The Magic never recovered. The Rocket swept Orlando, thus winning the title. This was the 1995 Orlando Magic. A duo too young to fear anyone, but too green to win it
