We Should Give Julian Champagnie MORE LOVE
be actually more of a question than anything else. I’ll give you my thoughts on this. Um, but I want to know how do fans feel about Julian Champeni? Like how do you guys feel about him? Okay, so recently or actually just now today, uh, the San Antonio Spurs expect to guarantee Julian Champeny’s entire $3 million contract for the 2526 season. And the Spurs also hold a team option for Chimp Penney uh going into the 26 uh 27 season. He said release. I like him. Very solid player for his price. I think he’s our best shooter. I like Julian on the team. I man I have gotten so many different takes when it pertains to Julian Champion and we rarely talk about him but just to give you my overall thoughts I think he’s a phenomenal role player truly I mean yeah for the for the price obviously right like he’s been outplaying his contract this entire time but I think he is a phenomenal role player like I’ve seen people bring up to me that they think that he’s overrated as far as a defender which I don’t know who’s overrating his defense I I have no idea. I I don’t know who’s out there calling him a a lock down point of attack defender or anything, but he’s a good defender. He’s a fine defender. Like he he’s good. Spurs are in a high percentile, I think. Let me see if I can find it. Uh when he’s out there with Wimi versus when he’s Let’s see. I might not have it right off the bat. It’s kind of hard to just find that just thinking about it. But I his defense is good. Team defense is good and it shows up, you know, in the in the analytics. Uh I will bring this up. We’ll we’ll ignore the defense for now. I do want to bring this up because I also got people saying that he’s bad. He’s a bad finisher. And let me see if I can bring this up because that’s actually not true. Uh, actually, I think it’ll be players stats or something like that. See if we can find this, guys. I’ll interact with the chat while we’re trying to find this. Julian’s a cool, chill guy. Great player. Bargain contract. He’s a good depth player. Yeah, we’re in a league full that that’s all about depth at this point. You know, if you just have to absolutely lean on them, okay, yeah, we’re kind of screwed, right? And I felt like early on the season, last season, that’s kind of what it came down to. We were just like leaning on him for everything shooting wise. Um, and it doesn’t it doesn’t work well. All right, let me see if I can find this. Is it lineups? No, it’s players general. Is it because I want to show the shooting chart here. No, maybe it’s not shooting. What the heck is it? It’s not shot dashboard, is it? Triples. No, it’s none of that. Opponent shooting box score. I actually don’t know what it is. Oh, is it? No, it’s not tracking. What? Okay. I don’t know what’s going on. I’m trying to find the distance. You guys know what I’m talking about. Like the distance from the rim. Which one would it be? Do you guys know? He’s notoriously a bad finisher considering that looks he gets to the rim. No, it’s actually not true. That’s what I’m saying. And I want to show you. I remember so many times during the season we got on a run with him in. Yeah, he’s good. Shooting. Shooting. I don’t know which one it is. Tracking drives. So frustrating. I guess nobody knows in the chat. Shot dashboard. All right. This going to have to give me a minute. Where you see it? It’s on here. It’s on NBA stats. I I just can’t remember what the heck it’s called. It’s the shooting, but I thought that it was more to it. Oh, wait. It is right here. I am so stupid. Okay. Good god. It’s literally right here. No one called me out on that. I think I clicked on this already. No one called me out on this. All right. So, Julian Champeni here, I’ll show you. Let’s do all We’ll go down to Julian. So within five feet. So at the rim where we said that he’s not a good finisher. Let me see if I can show you that you’re you’re wrong on that. Uh that’s Justin Champini. Uh Julian Champeni 60%. Now he only takes two, right? He only takes two. It’s not that many. But I think that why a lot of people think that he’s poor at finishing probably has to do with like some missed dunks that stood out here or there, but overall he’s 60% at the rim, which if you want to say like that’s not good. I mean, we all would agree that Kell is really good at finishing. And I remember Kell being like 62%. He takes a few more though. Killed in killed in Ken 62%. Those missed dunks are iconic pretty much. That’s what it comes down to. I think it’s just more of a vibe because you just remember him missing some. But yeah, he takes like two and shoots about 60% around the rim, which if you look around the league, like some of the some pretty good finishers shoot around that. So, it’s not terrible. That’s fine. You know, he reminds me of Udoka but better. His three-point ball and net positive on defense makes him a no-brainer for the team. Just definitely needs to work on his game when they run him off the arc. Well, one thing that’s going to play in his favor is the Spurs have even more talent now, right? So, he can just purely just be a royal player at this point. Um, so yeah. Oh, here’s Jeremy Sohan. You want to look at everybody? We should just look at everybody on the team. Jeremy Sohan is about 67% within five feet. He shoots about six of them. Uh, I want to do Wimi troll. Fine. Let’s do Wim Banyama. Wimbanyama 72%. Facel 58%. Who else should we do? Wesley also takes about two 58.9% so slightly under Jeni. Uh Malachi didn’t take any day. Took 168%. Yeah, he didn’t take. Uh who else should I consider? Who else should we think about? Fox. What just happened? Where’s Fox? The Iron Fox 65% Castle 60%. Uh, I do want to do Chris Paul. Wait, Chris Paul took Chris Paul didn’t score around the rim at all. What? He didn’t do it at all. That staff from Devon is nasty. Yeah. 58%. 75 72. Who else should we do? Tony Park. Well, how far back do we have to go? Do they let us go far? Oh, they do. But you want to do like 2014 Parker. What do you think is the best version of Parker? 07. Maybe 07 Parker. Is that the best version of Parker? 63% Tim Duncan was 66%. Well, Parker was close to 64%. So, yeah. So, if you’re in the 60s, it’s is considered good. I would say 07 Parker. You say 0708 Parker is the best. Let’s go to 07. 0708. I think around 2010, Parker was fifth in MVP voting. Let’s see. Where are you, Parker? Oh, 62.6%. Wim better than Parker and Timmy. Wimby is ridiculous. Him being 7 foot five helps though. It’s going to score at will. Let’s see. Is there anybody else that we should mention on our team? Check 2013. Parker uh 1314 or 1213. I’ll do 1213. 123. Okay. 64%. You’ve been pretty consistent. Yeah. As long as you’re in the 60s, you’re good. Oh, 0708 was Parker’s fifth in MBB voting. Okay. Also, remember that was a different era, more physical in the uh 2000s, especially around the rim. Yeah, that’s true, too. It was that what made Tony Parker so incredible because there were so many big men uh like traditional big men, defensive big man in the paint and he was able to do that. This is another reason why I think you guys are going to realize Dylan Harper is quite elite, right? Shot nearly 70% around the rim, which is extraordinarily impressive in college because there’s no 3-second rule. And most of the attention was on him in Ace. A lot of attention on him though. And he still managed to finish at that rate, which is crazy. like a lot of teams game plans were stop Dylan Harper prime Tony Parker would be good be a god in today’s game I feel like no of course he would yeah of course he would spacing is going to open up his game so much exactly that’s why I’m saying day one Like I I I think that a lot of people when it comes to like draft picks, they just think everything is a coin flip. They’re just like, “Oh, well, we don’t know how good he’ll be when he gets.” No. Certain players, you know, it’s very obvious. It’s very obvious. Who’s Harper’s comp? K. Cunningham. He’s like K. Cunningham with not as good shooting, but a better finisher. Shay. Harper doesn’t get shade comparison. Castle is Harper’s comp. Prime Manu as well. Every guard is playing like Manu was playing back then. Facts. Harper is a really good catch and shooter, so he should be fine. He’s a good catch and shooter. He’s a good cutter. There’s a lot to his game. Harper shooting will get better. Yeah, for sure. By the way, speaking of Harper, if you guys are interested, head on over to my second channel, Spurs Invasion. I don’t know why I did that, but I have a uh I know why I did that, but I have a video about Dylan Harper up if you guys are interested. Link below. Yeah, go follow Spurs Invasion.

I really like JC. I think he's a good role player for us.
With all the depth we have now, he should finally play the role he should be in and not playing an elevated role that he has no business playing,
Champagnie is a great role player on a very team-friendly contract. His playing style is not particularly flashy, but he is chill and mature. Steady, very Spursy.
The Spurs were both lucky and smart to pick him up off waivers. In fact, he's one of my arguments for the Spurs keeping the 15th roster spot open, because other teams will be reworking their rosters going into the season, and I would love for the Spurs to find another diamond in the rough like him. 😊
Better than Vassell on a 146 million dollar contract
