NY Knicks Get GREAT NEWS on Pacome Dadiet

This information about Pakome. Big. If you want to see the Frenchman in year two of his NBA career break out and be an impact player for the Knicks this season, hit that thumbs up icon right now. [Music] You’re watching Now by Chat Sports. I am your host Marshall Green. Appreciate everybody for stopping by as we react to what Fred Catz of the Athletic had to say about PCOM. People inside the building for the Knicks think that Doier and his shooting could see a major improvement really soon. Cat said this on his podcast, the Cats and Shoe podcast. Go check it out. Said, “I talked to people with the Knicks and they tell me in practice settings internal metrics pcom.a a shooting percentages are insanely good. Might mean nothing, but Deuce McBride when he was shooting 30%. These exact same metrics, he has some of the best on the team. Look, as Jaylen Brunson says it, the magic is in the work. And I’m not really surprised that in a controlled environment, practice setting drills that Pakome Doier is a really good shooter because when you go back and you watch what he did before even getting to the NBA, then you watched him in the GLeague and going to the summer league two times now, you see that he should be able to be a really good shooter. The form is there. He handles the ball naturally and he just looks I would say as a pure player and comfortable in who he is as a shooter and it didn’t really translate this year like in the NBA look didn’t play all that much we know that still just 19 years old but he shot just 32.3% from the field limited action and then the summer league this year the three ball still wasn’t really falling only knocked it down in a 25% clip on four attempts per game, but the overall field goal percentage saw a big leap. And there were things that I saw in the summer league that I was pretty impressed with. I mean, he had that 17-point game um in the summer league this year where he played pretty damn good. And he was getting out of transition. He was running. He was finishing through contact and Nicks wanted to see that more. And in the G- League, we saw some nice things as well. Averaged at 14 points per game. Still didn’t shoot the ball all that efficiently or effectively. less than 41% from the field, less than 30% from downtown, but he had a couple of games where it was like, okay, you could see the type of player that he is going to be. Shot seven of 11 verse the main Celtics in the G-League. Knock it down. Seven threes in a game. I’ll take that. And he was getting him up, too. 6.2 three-pointers attempted per night. So, clearly has the confidence in his ability to knock down those shots. and an unlimited sample sample size in the NBA with the Knicks. He showed you that from the top of the key above the arc, he can knock it down. I get it. Only 11 threes attempted above the ark, but he knocked down five of them. I’ll take a 45.5% three-point percentage above the break. Didn’t shoot well from the corners. That’s got to be an area that he’s got to improve. Those are spots that you got to be able to knock it down as an offthe-ball player. But like the form looks good. The shot looks fluid. There’s no hitch. There’s no bad mechanics. And you can see that the confidence from this guy is there because he’s seen those shots go in. He’s put the work in. And that’s half the battle. When you believe in yourself to make the shots that you’re taking, that’s going to go a long way. And we saw all this play out. Like we saw D. certain shooting metrics and practice that Duce McBride did. And Deuce went from maybe the worst three-point shooter in the NBA and maybe the most just worst shooter in the NBA when he first came in after being a second round pick out of West Virginia, shooting 29% from the field and 25% from three. He kept putting in the work and results grew a little bit from 29% to 35.8 and 25% to 29.9% from three. And then his third year in the NBA, it all started to click. It all started to fall in spot into motion. Confidence grew, the ability grew, and so did three-point percentage from 29.9% to 41%. And as the volume continued to grow, Deuce continued to grow. Still shot 37% from three. Like, if a can improve as a shooter like Deuce McBride did, that is going to be huge for the team now and in the future. Like, the Knicks need this guy to be a player. They haven’t really built their team. They did at the start of the rebuild to get the players they have now, but there’s not really any first round picks the Knicks made that are making impacts on this team at this moment. And with Doier being a first round pick, you need some return on investment from that selection. You need him to be able to impact the game down the line. Like I’m not sure it’s this year. I don’t think the 19year-old 20 year old version of Pakome Doier is going to be swinging really how the Knicks win games. But what about when he’s 22 or 23 or 26 or 28? Can he be a guy off the bench that flashes the athleticism, has an NBA body that could shoot it and score it and get out in transition and run? That’d be big. You need more wing depth. You can always use more wings. If you can have a 6’8 wing that can shoot 37 plus percent from three with the other things he does, that’s going to be a player in this league. We’ll talk more about Doier coming up in a second. But you guys got to get hooked up with this shirt, man. It’s 50% off. It was $60. Now it is $30. And if you’re a hooper and you love the Knicks, you’re going to love this shirt. I’ve already ordered mine today. Get yours. chatsports.comnykhoop. That’s chatports.comnyk hoop. Get this shirt today. It was $60, now it’s $30. The deal is not going to last forever, so take advantage of it. I’ll put that link and make it clickable down in the comments and description of today’s show. When I watch pome.a, now that we’ve seen two summer league cycles, a little bit of NBA work, and good amount of G-League time, some things that just I see of him as a player. He’s got legit size. 6’8, still just 19 years old. Who’s to say he doesn’t continue to grow? Like he has the body, the frame, the size to be a legit wing in this league at two 216 pounds and a 6’9 wingspan. So he checks the boxes there and he flashed his finishing ability in the summer league. He got out and ran a little bit more. And I was reading an article from James L. Edwards III from the Athletic and he was talking to the coach of the summer league Nixon. They said they wanted to see Dier push it a little bit more at transition and get downhill. And that’s why he was able to have that 17-point game cuz he was getting after it. He was running. He was finding the easy buckets and he was letting the game come to him. Like I get it. The three-point percentage hasn’t been there, but the form is clean. And it all starts as a shooter with the base and you work your way up. The mechanics look good and the confidence is there and the results are being put in just in practice. But he’s 18. Got to translate that to the games. Hopefully he could do that. The defensive IQ was there, too. That flashed to me his first summer league last year. Good defensive principles, has an high IQ. He talked about how beneficial it was playing under Tom Tibido’s rookie year. Talked about having a coach that thrives on discipline and attention to detail. That’s going to help. Also, he just has a high IQ on the offensive end as well. Tom Green, former Marquette Indiana and Georgia head coach, college coaching legend, said this about Pakome Dier during the summer league. I thought he was the best natural cutter in the draft. If he’d been in the US, he would have been a lottery pick. So you see that see a coach like Kane, not many more people know more ball than him. And they identify things like being an elite cutter and having lottery potential if he was born in America, born in America and played high school and college. Like that’s awesome. We want to see that and I have high hopes for him. I don’t know if he’ll ever be an all-star, but can he be a contributor on a winning team? I think he can. Question is, can Mike Brown unlock him? Can he take him to the next level? Can he develop Pakome Doier? Remember, that’s one of the reasons you went out and hired Mike Brown for his ability to develop young talent. And like people will say Tibs didn’t develop young talent. It’s just not true. Like there’s a need for another wing off this team. You got Male Bridges, you got Anobi. After that, you don’t have another wing unless you want to consider 6’4 Josh Hart that guy like 6’8 19year-old Pome Dier in year two. Hopefully, he can be that guy. Whether it is Doier or any of the other young guys, you need Mike Brown to take them. One of them. Can you get one of these five guys on screen to be an impact player, an impact winning for the New York Knicks? Mohamad Diawara, I was unfamiliar with your game, my friend. You impressed me in the summer league. Shot didn’t fall, but the defensive intensity, defensive IQ, the athleticism, there was a little Pascal Seakum in his game. And I’m not just saying that to say it. There was a lot of things I liked. I’m expecting some nice things from Hucky. McCulla impressed me. Young older guy though in the summer league, so always take that stuff with a grain of salt. K looked bad for almost every game except a couple. But I’m really focusing on Dier. He was the first round pick. He’s got to be the guy that becomes a player for this team. Make sure you are following me on social media. Shout out to everybody that’s supporting the channel. 1. I don’t care what anyone says, Dadiet in the last third of the first round is already better than Toppin at the top of the first round. This youngster will be recognized in the next couple of years When he gets his man body, look out. He ain’t ascared!

  2. These "development " bench players need play time….. this was Thibs problem….how you gonna know what you got when they don't get to play

  3. GO KNICKS 🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡🧡💙🧡💙🧡🧡🧡🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙

  4. Great plays a position where we all good with OG, Bridges and Hart. We still don’t have a real shooting guard on the team.

  5. We need to get P Dot on the floor this year. He's a contributor, and Coach Brown can bring the best out of him. A pure, confident player that has brighter days ahead of him. P Dot should crack the rotation. Dink should crack the rotation next year!

  6. I really like all of last year‘s rookies
Add in names from this off-season Diawara, Pate and Nnaji, and that’s a fun group to follow

However, odd package, any of them with KAT and try to get Giannis from the bucks
