wrapping up the summer league experience here. What did you gain from the past couple weeks? I think it was cool just to, you know, be in the summer league, being able to get accustomed to, you know, NBA spacing, NBA rules, stuff like that, and also getting, you know, to know some of the guys are, you know, good group to play with, you know, good group to hang out with off the court. So, it it was a cool experience for sure. Seemed like there’s a high level of physicality, lots of fouls and whatnot, but how do you adjust to that type of play? Yeah, I mean when you get 10 fouls, you know, people are going to use them and so you got to be prepared for that physicality. You got to embrace it, especially at the NBA level. It’s definitely a physical game, especially for big men. So, you got to, like I said, embrace it and just try to um, you know, use that to your advantage. Now that you kind of have a taste of what Pelicans basketball is like, what kind of opportunity is it here for you with the 2-way contract? Yeah, it was it’s a great opportunity um and it’s where I wanted to be. Feel like it’s a great opportunity for me to be able to showcase what I do and I feel like I I fit what they’re trying to do as a team and an organization. And so just trying to go in there and do my best and try to make my mark. Over the next couple months before training camp hits, what are some of the things that you would like to work on your game? Uh just staying in shape, you trying to get even better shape uh and getting ready for, you know, training camp and a long NBA season. You know, it’s it’s a long grueling season and just trying to make sure that my body’s ready for it. How hard is it to keep up with Jeremiah? It’s tough sometimes. You know, he’s he’s a little speed demon and so especially coming off the pick and roll, he’s in there probing, snaking ball screens. Uh but you know that’s why he was a lottery pick and that’s why I think he’s got so much potential to be a great player. What’s it been like sharing the floor with him? Uh it’s been super fun. I mean he’s so talented but then you know people got to remember he’s so young too. Like he’s 18 years old. Um he got so much potential. Uh he’s already a really good player now and so the sky’s is the limit for him. And have you been able to get to know him off the court? Yeah. Um you know him and DQ are really cool people. Uh really chill guys. you know, just normal normal guys and you know, it’s been great getting to know them off the court and obviously PEve too. I’ve known him for a while. We’re in the same class, so known him for a while, but uh good guys and can’t wait to hang out with them more.
