NBA Insider Drops HUGE Celtics Trade Report…

NBA Insider Drops HUGE Celtics Trade Report…

We have some big news to go over today as an NBA insider has dropped a massive Celtics trade report surrounding one particular player that not only has fans fired up, but has big implications going forward into this offseason surrounding Brad Stevens plans for this team. We’re going to break down that exact report and discuss what this means going forward as something huge is brewing for this Celtics team. But before we get into it all, if you’re a part of the percentage who aren’t subscribed to the channel, this is the place to be for daily Celtics content. And speaking of the Boston Celtics and Brad Stevens master plan, we know that there is a few players on this roster right now, specifically Anthony Simons, that Brad Stevens is shopping. But some brand new reports have dropped revealing both who they could be trading him for, but also just the current structure and the current kind of feel of this team. You can see this here. Brian Winhorse dropped, you know, a little bit ago that the Celtics are actively trying to trade Anthony Simons per Winhorse of ESPN. And of course, this is a big big report in itself, but just a couple days ago or yesterday maybe, I believe, Anthony Simons report from Jake Fischer. The Celtics are most likely not calling teams to trade Simons, but they are actively open to moving him. And if not, they would be happy to have him start the season with the team. So, a couple different things to go over here. Obviously, Jake Fischer, pretty notable insider, basically saying that the Celtics are actively open to moving Anthony Simons, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going out there and actively, you know, attempting to trade off of, you know, the the guard they acquired for the Drew Holiday trade. And also, stay tuned to the end of the video because we have an interesting tidbit on the Drew Holiday trade that you’re going to want to stay tuned for. But let’s start with this. Now, a week or so ago, Brian Winhorse came out and said the Celtics are actively trying to trade. And then now there’s a bit of conflicting reports here with Jake Fischer saying that they aren’t actively trying to trade him, but are actively open to moving him. So, some weird, I guess, politics going on with the exact structure of the wording of a lot of these uh a lot of these reports. But regardless, this report from Jake Fischer indicates that the Celtics are essentially happy either way. They’re fine moving on from Anthony Simons, and they’re also fine keeping him and holding on for him to start the season. And we’ll dive into a trade here in a minute that would make sense for both teams and it was a little bit intriguing. But trade reports are starting to pick up heavily surrounding this guy because as you went closer and closer to the regular season, the Celtics obviously they got out the second apron. They’re trying to get out of luxury tax out, you know, avoid the first apron, all these different things, right? The the reality of the situation is the Celtics at this point are in a retool year and Brad Stevens came out and prior to the offseason or right as the offseason began said they want to bring back Luke Cornet, they want to bring back Al Horford. Neither of those two guys are going to be brought back. Cornet already signed with Spurs and Al Horford is seemingly either going to sign with the Warriors, Lakers, or retire, right? So, it seems at this point that that’s, you know, that ship has ultimately sailed heavily. So, now it’s about what happens with Anthony Simons. And you can see a new article that dropped here. We know they traded Drew Holiday and they got an expiring Anthony Simons back in the deal who’s 26 years old. While Simon’s a promising player a Celtics could use, there are reports of Boston exploring potential trades. And on a Bleacher Report liveream, NBA insider Jake Fischer provided some information about his future. And here’s the full quote. So, at a certain point in time, could Boston just move him? Yes. Are they actively looking to move him? I would say they’re actively open to moving him, but I don’t think Boston is calling around trying to move Anthony Simons right now. I just think he and his representation are very aware the Celtics are not married to having him start the season in green and white, but they’d be very happy and willing to do so if that’s the case. And of course, the Celtics are hampered by the second tier of the luxury tax due to their high salary sheet. And that’s of course and was the story of the entire off season for the Celtics with the apron following the new CBA rules with the luxury tax. Brad Stevens had to make a bunch of moves, right? We knew it started with Drew Holiday. It ended with Kristoff Sporzingis. There was rumblings about a Sam Hower trade. Rumblings now again about Anthony Simons to get off of the salary and maybe move in a different direction here with the team. And ultimately at the end of the day, it’s going to be up to Brad Stevens to to figure out what to do here. And I fully trust Brad Stevens. I believe he’s going to do what’s best for the team and again he’s made some very good moves this uh this offseason and one that’s you know very interesting in a minute surrounding Drew Holiday which we will dive into but at the end of the day super super intriguing. Now at the same time we look at Anthony Simon stats he averaged 19 points a game last year shooting you know 42.6% from the field and 36% from three. Not a great year last year. However both years prior to that he started every single game and uh you know for the past three years 21 points a game 22 points a game. He has upside here. And if there is a year that maybe if you’re the Celtics, you’re even considering holding on to him, seeing how he does, seeing where the Celtics end up with their very weird roster construction that they have. And then at the deadline, you can trade him as a rental. He is an expiring contract and you trade him to a team that needs some maybe some bench scoring or starting scoring depending on what you know, things happen. And then you can flip him then because I’m sure teams are a little bit hesitant following his down year, but at the end of the day, I’m sure you can get some asset for him back. And of course, the trade was originally Drew Holiday for Anthony Simons in a second round pick. That ultimately got nixed down to just Drew Holiday for Anthony Simons, which is interesting in itself, especially following the report we’ll dive into, you know, in a minute here. But speaking of, you know, reports, there is a mock trade that has been circulating here and it’s the Celtics receive Demard Rosen, Keon Ellis, and three second rounders. The Hawks receive Sam Hower and Terence Davis and the Kings receive Anthony Simons, Gorgus Niang, and a firstround pick. So this one is extremely interesting. So the Celtics are getting a bunch of seconds. They’re getting Keon Ellis and they’re getting Demar D Rozan and you’re giving up Sam Hower and Anthony Simons which makes things very interesting. You’re also giving up Gorgus Nang. Now is this a super realistic trade? No. Right. This isn’t the most realistic trade in the world. But in order for trades like this to go down, they usually involve three teams. And if you’re the Hawks, you get Sam Hower, a very interesting and very good role player. If you’re the Kings, you get Anthony Simons, who maybe can provide you some upside, but again with the Kings, they already have Zack Lavine. So, there’s some weird things going on there, but I guess you’re moving off of Nero Rosen, so you could open up some, you know, slots there. And the Kings have done dumber things in the past. And if you’re the Celtics, you’re getting a guy who is better than Anthony Simons, maybe fits better than Anthony Simons. And that’s kind of the big question here. Like, Dear has improved as a three-point shooter and all these different things. He would start in place of Jason Tatum, right? And he’s not a very similar player to Jason Tatum. We obviously know Dear relies on his mid-range game. Pretty good finisher at the rim. gotten better at shooting over the past few years, but at the same time, like, how would he and Jaylen Brown fit together? How would him and, you know, Dererick White, I think it’s an interesting option. He’s a very solid passer, and we’ve saw it with the Spurs there. The first year got traded from the Raptors. He’s an okay player. You’re also getting some second round picks back. You’re also getting Keon Ellis. So, it’s like, is this a realistic move? Maybe not. But it’s a very interesting move nonetheless and one that I think if you you know then combine all the assets that the Celtics gave up for the Drew Holiday trade you could argue that it would make some sense for both sides here. So let me know down below what your thoughts are on that. Essentially Dearra for Anthony Simons like swap for all intents and purposes but of course you also have some other moves that are going down in the form of you know giving up Sam Hower as well which is interesting because then you’re also it saves you some salary but at the same time you know Samer is a very useful player but we know Brad Stevens wants to move him. So bunch of moving pieces. Let me know down below what your thoughts are on that. But at the end of the day, they’re trying to actively trade Simons. And they’re also, according to some reports, actively open to moving it, but not actively trying to trade. So, some very interesting reports there. One thing before I wrap up here, and I’ll probably have a full video covering this, but the Raptors offered the Celtics the ninth pick in the draft for Drew Holidayiday, and the Celtics decided to take the Trailblazers offer instead, which if this is true, is very ridiculous. I feel like as a Celtics fan, let me know down below in the comment section. Are you upset about this particular thing? Essentially, you only got Drew Holiday for uh you got Anthony Simons or Drew Holiday with no picks. Of course, the offer they accepted was Anthony Simons in a second for Drew Holiday. Drew Holiday failed his physical a little bit and ultimately got downgraded to a second. Would you have preferred the ninth overall pick? They of course, you know, picked Colary Boils. They could have picked Moatch, which is an interesting one as well. They could have picked them for the Celtics, which would have made a lot of sense. Let me know down below if you think this was a regretful move by not doing that. I’m curious to see why exactly or when this offer was. Again, they said at the draft, but when this offer was made, how things were going, cuz I’m sure Stevens would have preferred this over just Anthony Simons, but maybe he would have failed his physical with Toronto anyway, and Mulatch would have been a very interesting name. But that’ll wrap it up. Let me know down below what your thoughts are. You guys are absolute beast. So there.

  1. Man please I don’t see Big AL signing with any of the OPP TEAMS.. I’m sure we’ll see him Suited & Booted back with our boyz in BeanTown come Regular Season TipOff.. Why would he leave us right when we’ll need his Veteran Leadership the most with JT out and 3 key players gone with no starting center in the lineup AL will definitely be on board I guarantee

  2. Jrue for the 9th overall pick would have been a better move as it would have probably gotten the Cs under the tax completely and maybe even Maluach. But obviously, Brad had other ideas. Cs fans will just have to trust Brad.
