Salary Cap Breakdown – OKC Thunder
This off season, the Oklahoma City Thunder gave contract extensions to Chad Homegrren and Jaylen Williams, starting at $41 million annually. So, their salary cap is set to skyrocket. However, these won’t actually kick in this coming season. They start the year after the 2627 campaign. So, this next season, they’ll still be on the last year of their rookie scale contracts at 13 and 6 million, respectively. However, they also extended AJ Mitchell and the other Jaylen Williams, and those raises, albeit more modest, will be on the books next season. Additionally, they made a couple of other minor moves. They dumped Dylan Jones’s contract, trading him to the Wizards, and then they drafted Thomas Sorber out of Georgetown with the 15th pick. Otherwise, the Thunder roster heading into next season is unchanged, which is not uncommon for the defending champs. So, the big question will be, how do they navigate next off season when the CET and JDub extensions kick in? Will the front office be able to handle the inevitable second apron penalties? And will ownership be willing to pay the luxury tax?
Here’s what the Oklahoma City Thunder’s salary cap is going to look like next NBA season.

wow “the other jaylin williams”
Phoenix should be next
Do the suns pls
Barnhiser and topic will replace any role player the thunder want to let go
Do Lakers next
I think If they Lose in to first round next season they might Trade Chet for Picks and they will never trade JDub no where unless theres a Issue behind the scenes
Please do mavericks
IHart to Wiggins would be questionable next season
Bro topic hasn't even played an nba game ever he had never been on an NBA court and they giving him 5 mil
Don't forget the SGA extension 26/27 additionally to the J Dub and Chet extension he will be making 60milion+
I don’t even think the owner can afford the luxury taxes since his net worth is 400million which is the lowest in the NBA
In 2 years that chart is just gonna be basically 3 players 😂😂😂
Do timberwolves
Can you do one for the Suns, please? This is such an awesome visual representation for NBA teams’ cap spaces.
Some tax exemptions should be implemented for players that drafted by the same team
It really sucks that they'll be forced to get rid of like 2 of their starters after next season, even some that they drafted themselves.
There'll be so few good second/third option players that actually stick with the team that drafted them in the future.
Dort, IHart, and Wiggs will be dumped
And then SGA signed the super max which will kick in 2 years from now.
By the 27-28’ season, cap hit is going to look absolutely diabolical. They better pray SGA, J-Dub, and Chet all develop even more and that they hit on pretty much all these draft picks, cause if they miss they are going to be in the worst position a franchise can be in.
How many players they have?
The fact that the bulls traded AC and didn’t even get a pick will never not upset me
For IH and Caruso, it will be their last year
Finally I understand that means.
Chet will be on the block next year
