π¨ BREAKING NEWS π¨ Chris Paul agrees to 1-yr deal to return to Clippers | SportsCenter
We start with breaking news from the NBA because Chris Paul is heading back to Los Angeles. The veteran point guard agreeing to return to the Clippers for what is expected to be his final season. CP3 previously spent six years with the Clippers, leading the team to its most successful stretch in franchise history. Paul ranks second in NBA history in both assists and steals. He played last season if you remember with the Spurs. So, including the signing of the veteran and Chris Paul, it’s been a very busy offseason for the Clippers. LA also signed free agents Bradley Beal, Brook Lopez, and acquired John Collins in a three-team trade. The Clippers also resigned star James Harden to a two-year deal worth $81.5 million. Let’s say hello to NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins who’s with us now here on Sports Center. And Perk, give me your reaction to Chris Paul joining the Clippers. Well, one Shay, it’s not breaking news. It’s just NBA news. Right. Chris Paul, days of summer here, Perk. We’re doing what we can, you know? Right. Right. Chris Paul signs with the Clippers on the vet minimum. Solid pickup for the Clippers far as him coming in and being a backup point guard. He’s one of the greatest floor generals to ever do it. Now you add them to this veteran roster that’s going to compete at the highest level. Well coached team. They have a lot of good pieces on this team and they’re going to they’re going to be in the thick of things. They’re going to be a top eight team in the uh Western Conference. But we know what CP3 brings to the locker room. An extension of Tyoo, his leadership being able to play off the ball. We saw his stint in Golden State playing alongside Steph Curry. And so, yes, they do have a nice veteran roster, but they still have a lot of questions. Nice veteran roster with a lot of ages that start with the number three and now one that start with the number four. I’m just going to point that out. Uh, obviously, as you see on that full screen, the Clippers made a bunch of additions this offseason. We just talked about it. ESPN bet had their title odds at 33 to1 when the season ended. Now they’re at 16 to1 now though. How do you view the Clippers in the conversation of maybe championship contenders? I don’t I don’t This is a old folks home right now. Nursing home in my opinion when you look at them when you look at the league everybody is getting young at the wing position. That’s the most important position in the NBA when it comes down to be able to defend at a high level. I understand going get Bradley Bill, Chris Paul, you got James Harden, but again, those guys are great when it comes down to being offensively good, but defensively you’re going to have to get stops, especially in the stack Western Conference when you got elite perimeter play all across the board. And so when I look at the teams that I feel like are better than them, the Rockets, the Thunder, the Nuggets, even the Lakers right now with the additions that they added, I just see this team having a really good regular season and being a tough out in the postseason, but not legit title contenders in my eyes. When you mention the team that just won the championship in the Thunder and a team like the Rockets, I mean, outside of Kevin Durant, these are two very, very young squads. Very different, I guess I’ll say, in terms of the Clippers with their age difference. Kendrick Perkins, we appreciate it. Thank you. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

The Basketball Gods frown upon teams that compile this much talent haha
I think i woudlve had Brad come off the bench
If only LAC could find a way to sign a Time Machine π°οΈβοΈβ¦This team would win it all 2-4 years ago.

This cheating like a mfka man π
i as a mavs fan i actually like what the clippers did this offseason
Cp3 to the clippers once again for the last time in his nba career
lets go clippers
The Clippers' perimeter defense is going to get torched. It would be best for them to start Lopez next to Zubac, to hide the defensive deficiencies of Harden and Beal.
Player for player we the better team than all those team this casual perk just mentioned… glad perk disagrees cause he knows absolutely nothing about basketball after being an nba player
Get that "Gary Payton" Chip so they can stop playin on The Point God name!!
First Dame went back to his ex girlfriend now Cp3 as well

Perk is such a loser π
They arenβt going to win anything but theyβll make sure LeBron doesnβt win anything either. This is a win for me. π
clippers looks like a retiring home
Clippers are going to need to hire a geriatrician.
Kendrick Perkins: This is an old folks home.
It's the Slippers, what you expect! Send these loser back to SD. LA is and will be forever Laker town!!!
As a dubs fan. Man, the warriors and clippers are just retirement homes ππ. 1 injury they both out of contending. Clippers are worse as most of their starter are injury prone and worse chokers too ππ
I believe the starting lineup should consist of Chris Paul, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, John Collins and Ivica Zubac. Bradley Beal should be the one to come off the bench. Chris Paul and Harden in the backcourt can NOT be stopped.
Clippers are the retirement home π΄π΄
They should retire #3
Perk the Bulls was a nursing home and ran a 3 pt
Perks takes dis summer has been out right senile at timesπππππππππ
Perk has called every west team besides the thunder n rockets a top 8 team πππthe most vague rankings ever

CP3 back in LA feels like closure.
The only person I want back is Jesus βοΈπ§πΏboy this world needs Jesus.
The greatest team the Los Angeles Clippers ever assembled. Can this finally be the year ππΌ
Perk with his deep analaysis again. Can someone just fire this trash.
nobody give af about that dumb perk. tell me how clippers who ranked 3rd last season in D all of sudden it become a team that can't guard anyone. clippers literally have the some core, yes they lost norm but brought in literally beal, cp3, lopez and collins. are you telling me ( no disrespect to norm ) but norm was a anchor of the team D lol
Lopez Kahwai tandem is gonna be interesting
Clippers ain't winning no NBA title next season
Yeah anything for Kawhi and his Clippers to win a Championship will be great.
Dude.. I forgot they got collins.. ppl dont know how tough that move is.. and LOPEZ as a backup big in a conference where they got jokic, ad, wemby.. they might have a shot genuinely. Especially if beal actually is motivated.
This just means heβs about to retire
CP3 welcome to the Clippers' Retirement Home!
So glad he didnβt come to Milwaukee. ππΌπ
He can party with Harden after every game for his retirement send off ππππππ
