Marvin Bagley Signs with the Washington Wizards

Marvin Baggley III has went back to Washington for a oneyear contract with the Washington Wizards. Baggley, the 26-year-old, was the second pick of the Sacramento Kings in the 2018 NBA draft. A move that in hindsight was one of the biggest mistakes in franchise history. The next three picks were Luca Dantic, Jiren Jackson Jr., and Trey Young. while Mikuel Bridges went number 10 and Shay Gilchris Alexander went 11 and Jaylen Brunson slipped into the third second round. Baggley, meanwhile, averaged 13 and a half points, seven rebounds in part of his four seasons with the Kings and 12 points and six rebounds in part of three seasons with the Detroit Pistons, but he struggled last year in his campaign. The issue for Baggley is been the lack of a true position. He doesn’t offer rim protection or great defense as a center. And he doesn’t offer perimeter shooting as a bowler. In the modern NBA, that makes it tough to find an effective role for him. This past season, he averaged four points, three rebounds, and eight and a half minutes per game between the Wizards and Grizzlies, shooting 52% from the field and o 16% from three. Baggley brings solid athleticism and size to the court as a plus rebounder who can score in the paint. Washington clearly sees something in him and are giving him a shot despite ongoing questions about his and in deal role. So I hope he finds his role back with the Washington Wizards. Good luck Marvin Baggley III.
