Spurs Jonathan Kuminga Sign & Trade?

Spurs Jonathan Kuminga Sign & Trade?

What’s going on everyone? So, I think the San Antonio Spurs should take a look at Jonathan Kaminga, right? I want to start by saying it depends on what they would have to give up, right? Like you’re not giving up any of like your key core guy. You’re not trading Harper or, you know, Stefon Castle or anything like that. You’re not trading De’arren Fox. You’re not doing anything like that. But the Spurs could really use kind of consolidation trade, right? They could look to, you know, Devin Vel, you know, a Kellen Johnson, right? If you’re bringing in a Kaminga, maybe even like a Jeremy Sohan. I know a lot of Spurs fans think he’s the second coming of Dennis Rodman and the greatest player to ever, you know, put on a Spurs uniform, but the reality is he can’t shoot. His defensive versatility is great, but Jonathan Gaminga has more upside and is already a better player right now. Maybe not defensively, but he is. Like Jonathan Gaminga is a very good basketball player. And the problem is is that the Warriors have always been inconsistent with him, right? like they the roles in which he plays are all over the place. Like there’s times where the Warriors are looking for him to be essentially the second best player next to Steph Curry, but then don’t give him the consistency in order to build that and become that and then at times will like not play him at all or at times we’ll kind of just play him off the bench and then start like he’s had no consistency with the Warriors, right? And I think that that’s something that he really needs is just find the right team that is willing to invest into him and give him the consistent role. Well, what is something that the Spurs could really use, right? Wing depth, right? Particularly at the four or the three. Kaminga is probably best at the four. Guy’s an athlete, hyper athlete. Go get your 20 on any given night, right? Make some plays, play some defense. Does need to kind of buy in and get focused a little bit, but getting Kaminga could do a couple things for you, right? gives you another young upside potential growth who has star potential. Not saying he’ll ever live up to it, but he does, right? We’ve seen the glimpses, we’ve seen the games, we’ve seen the moments where he’s just, you know, he can’t be stopped, right? Like there is a version of him that is just tearing up the league, right? Bring him in. You could have him slotted in at the four, right? Alongside a Victor Womenyama, you know, a Carter Bryant, uh, Stfane Castle, and a Dylan Harper. That could be literally your foundation for the foreseeable future. You’d have Jonathan Kaminga locked up. Problem is he wants 30 plus million a year, which you know I I mean if it works out then yes it’s justified right? If he actually becomes the player that he has shown the ability to be then yes it’s justified. You might even be he might even be underpaid right? I would look closer to 20 million right? I’d look closer to 20 maybe maybe 25 million, right? Because again that 5 million could be the difference between you being a second apron team or not, right? So, but I just I look at him and I think a Spurs team, they have the system, they have the organizational structure, they have the coaching, they have the player, they they have the things that you want alongside him. He’s also the kind of player you want alongside De’arren Fox and, you know, Victor Women. You also have somebody in Harrison Barnes that can kind of take him under his wing, kind of help kind of grow and develop him and build him out, right? Like I said, you could do a Devin Vel sign and trade for Kell Johnson or uh for not Kell Johnson for Jonathan Kaminga, right? Like you could do something like that and you know match their salaries, right? Now some people might look at it and go like I don’t want Kaminga for Deon Vel, but again Deon Vel one regressed last season which teams are going to take into account. Two, what is his value on the open market? Three, how many teams need a guy like Deon Vel? Most teams already have that guy. Four, the Spurs have like three other guys that are all going to play that role, right? And Jonathan Gaming is bigger, younger, and has more upside and potential and isn’t a redundancy, right? So to me it’s like if you can turn him into a young player in a you know a Jonathan Kaminga and kind of bet on his potential in upside even if he never becomes that star like even if he just becomes like a like an Andrew Wiggins type where it’s like you know he’s good but he’s not like your first or second best player he’s more of like a third or fourth option. You need that. You need that in a starting lineup. You need that like you running five on five, right? So, you need that fourth or fifth guy. If he’s even that for you and he’s like clear-cut like, hey, this guy is the fourth best player on the Spurs, right? Then perfect because again, you need that fourth guy. But there is the potential that like, hey, he’s actually the best guy alongside a Victor Women. I just think somebody like a Deon Vel is is a bit of a redundancy, right, with what you have. Again, you have Dylan Harper, you have Stefan Castle, you have De’arren Fox. Like, what is Dylan Harp? Dylan Harper’s what, the fourth or fifth option? like he the what you want him to be he’s not going to be able to be at this point if you’re going to properly develop your young guys right so move off of Deon Vel get off of his contract like and bring in a guy like a Jonathan Kaminga or I mean the other route is you could stack a couple guys if you wanted to like you know put a package around Kell Johnson Kell Johnson in some pieces to go get him or you know maybe you’re sending Harrison Barnes back but I don’t like I’d want to keep Harrison Barnes I think him as one of the veterans on this team gives you that three andD shooting plus I think he’d be really good for guys like Carter Bryant, for guys like Julian Champagne, for guys like Jonathan Kaminga you bring in, right? And so and Harrison Barnes can kind of relate to Jonathan Kam because Harrison Barnes was kind of in that role at times. He he got more consistency and actually became like a huge part during that original championship run for the Warriors, but there were times where it was kind of, you know, a little all over the place, right? Right. Especially before Kerr, like and then Kerr ended up bringing uh Eigodala off the bench, right? But like Harrison Barnes knows what it was like to be this have this inconsistent role and you know get games where it’s like hey we need you to be the guy and then games where you’re off the b and so he can kind of you know connect I think in a lot of ways and hey I was on the I was in your spot I know how you feel right but look I made a career out of it even if he just becomes let’s say Jonathan Kamika just becomes a Harrison Barnes that’s great like a legit sizable versatile three and D guy that can defend one through five right? Like that’s great, right? The Spurs could use somebody like that. So, I really do think that the Spurs should kind of put their hat in the rain and and bring in and look to to add a guy like a, you know, a a Jonathan Kaminga and see like what can you what can you do with him, right? Like to me again, it’s just if you have to give up like Devin Vel plus like three first or something, then no, I wouldn’t do anything like that. But you’re seeing there are several teams that are in negotiations or in in talks to try to acquire uh Kaminga via sign and trade, but like all of those team like teams like Suns have already bailed out. They’re like, “Yeah, not happening.” Right? So teams might end up washing themselves out. Kaminga doesn’t want to go back to the Warriors. So if you’re the Spurs, can you kind of come in and just be like, “Hey.” Right? Like if you have to give up like an asset or two because Spurs can at some point the Spurs are going to have to take a risk. At some point the Spurs are going to have to take a chance on a guy like a Kaminga. Not saying it has to be Kaminga, but at some point you’re going to have to make some decisions, right? You don’t have to necessarily make it right now, but Kaminga might be a guy that’s worth it, right? Like you’ve seen the potential. You’ve seen the upside. You’ve seen the growth. You’ve seen what he can do on any given night. Can you just kind of hone that in and get him kind of focused and bought in, particularly on the defensive side and stuff like that. All of a sudden, you might look at this and be like, “Wow, this was a steal.” It just depends on on Kaminga. But also keep in mind, he’s going to be motivated. He’s going to want to show the Warriors like, “Hey, you messed up.” Like the he might be the best version of himself with the Spurs because again, he’s going to want to kind of prove himself and kind of give the the bird to these teams. So, I don’t know. It’s just kind of a thought. Um, I’m not saying it’s something that they have to like if they don’t do it, it’s like, “Oh, what are those Spurs doing?” Like, no. Like, it’s just it’s somebody that I think makes some sense. It’s somebody that I think that there is an argument for that comes in fits your core, fits your foundation that I think you can kind of unlock and make just better. The San Antonio Spurs could use another sizeable versatile wing and look to consolidate players to better round out the roster. Spurs could look to add Jonathan Kuminga via a Warriors Sign and trade.

  1. There a reason why he hasn’t earned his minutes come on man give up a good shooter like vassel for kuminga…..no way

  2. I was just thinking about this before you made this video 🤯 Devin and KJ for him. I think it would work perfectly. Maybe all JK is bringing back is assets and the Warriors don't want that and Devin and KJ Maybe all they bringing is pieces back in a trade and Spurs don't want that 🤔. Flip them both teams get what they want perfect.

  3. In this situation just get Giannis. We have too many of the same players with the same play style. We can sign Jones- Garcia, that Carter guy (not talking about Bryant), and Dennis to come off bench with either Harper or Castle. Trade Vasell, Keldon, and/or Mixin. If they want Sochan, then cool. We have too many guards and undersized finesse “big man” that want to shoot 3s and afraid to go at the rim. We need post up/ slashers threat to open up the shooters on the perimeter. Kuminga is basically the same boat of potential that hasn’t broken out. “Potential” can destroy a championship window. We know what Giannis brings to the table. A high intensity MVP level could put the Spurs in a sweet spot of playoff/ developing champions vs a group of potential and wait and see. We have a bunch of picks for more “potential,” to learn from Giannis and Barnes. Barnes needs to stay at small forward as much as possible due to being undersized and age. Dallas could easily do a Gafford and AD lineup. Why would we want undersized Barnes, Kuminga, and Sochan in this lineup? Meanwhile, Giannis grab the rebound and lead the fast break with either Gafford or complaining to the ref AD trailing or guarding full court would destroy them on the break alone. That will make Gafford and AD fatigued much quicker, which can lead to mistakes and fouls. Wemby and Giannis are a better combo in a half court set. Maybe Giannis can inspire and teach Wemby to post up more, because no one but Chet can slow him down. Wemby needs a mentor to shake him out of the France and Euro league culture into being more aggressive mentally preferably in the mid range and post area. Even Tim Duncan needed David Robinson to become a Hall of Fame player. Fox can have a lob fest and do his thing. The Spurs would be a threat immediately and for years to come with Giannis.

  4. He probably not a good shooter are something that the warriors don’t want him for a reason, other teams not looking to trade for him either , nobody in no rush to get this guy

  5. So you wanna trade maybe our best shooter on a team that lacks shooting for another non shooting 4??? How do you even come up with this stuff at this point

  6. Yes… You nailed it! Kuminga is EXACTLY what the Spurs need! Kuminga's big issue is being stuck behind Hall Of famers Green and Butler, and before with All-Star Wiggins. I don't blame him and fully understand, he is waiting to bus out and we can all see it. Some team is going to pick up a big bargain! I se Kuminga signing with the Spurs for around 4 seasons for $100M. That's easily his worth and is merely 22. I would expect he would love to play with Wemby! Kuminga is already way better than Barnes!

  7. Kuminga has low Bb-IQ but athletic. There's a reason why Kerr don't play JK.. Not trading Vassell for Kuminga but for Keldon maybe.
