So, could the Cleveland Cavaliers be trading away DeAndre Hunter to the Los Angeles Lakers this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Los Angeles Lakers receiving DeAndre Hunter and the Cleveland Cavaliers receiving Ruy Himura, Shake Milton, and a 2031 firstround draft pick. So, this trade was created prior to Shake Milton being waved a couple days ago uh by the Los Angeles Lakers. So, obviously, he cannot be included in this deal. And if the Cavs were to get him, it would have to be in free agency. But regardless, I think that DeAndre Hunter could actually be a legitimate target for the Lakers this off season. The Lakers went out and they signed Marcus Smart to a contract a couple days ago and they want to get they wanted to get better defensively speaking. Now, if you kind of look at this roster, it does make some sense why they want to go into that uh maybe direction as a franchise. Uh DeAndre Aton, who they recently signed this off seasonason, not the best defender. Uh Luca Donic, of course, not the best defender either. Offensively speaking, those guys bring a lot to the table. What this team probably needs, I think, to make this team a championship team next year would be for a 3 and D wing such a such as a DeAndre Hunter in my opinion. So Deandra Deandra Hendendrick is the type of player that can actually uh make a lot of impact or I guess make his impact known on this Lakers roster. Offensively speaking, he doesn’t have to have the ball in his hand super often to be successful. Uh perhaps he can have more limited role offensively. Kind of chip in when he has to be a catch and shoot guy. That could be a tremendous fit for this Lakers team offensively speaking, but defensively speaking, DeAndre Hunter is a pretty lengthy wing. Uh he can go ahead and maybe make up for some other uh shortcomings on this roster. as I mentioned before with Luca and uh you know um uh DeAndre Aton specifically speaking uh you know DeAndre Hunter is able to sort of make up for those guys is um I would say not great skill set defensively speaking so a pretty good move from a basketball perspective now from the Cavs perspective it’s an intriguing decision because they would be getting a little bit worse in this deal in my opinion I think Rehimmer is a good player to add to the team adding a first round pick you know six years down the road could be a very valuable thing for them because at that point, this Lakers team will look a lot different. But truthfully speaking, I think the Lakers get better with this deal. So, for those reasons, um, I’m going to go with the Lakers winning this deal. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
