— way, Ron, it was Ron Perlman who played Clay. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Go ahead, Mike. Alright, we’ll talk Cavs for a second here guys. There was a report out yesterday from Brett Siegel of Clutch Points that married up to some other things that I had heard in terms of the Cavs looking to potentially move on from Dean Wade to get under the 2nd apron of the attacks. I hadn’t heard any teams. That we’re looking to make a specific deal for Dean Wade, but Jason had talked about it. I had mentioned it. It had been pretty out there by numerous reporters that the Cavs are looking to get on the 2nd apron and potentially trading Dean Wade was an option to help them accomplish that goal. Brett Siegel of Clutch Points yesterday put out a report saying that Houston made an offer and uh this kind of surprised me. This is from Brett Siegel of Clutch Points, quote. Before signing Dori and Finney Smith in free agency, the Houston Rockets pursued a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers for forward Dean Wade. Sources say Houston was willing to give Wade a full mid-level exception extension over the next few seasons, the same deal that Finny Smith ultimately got if they were able to finalize a trade with Cleveland. So why not? He went on to say when the Cavaliers declined this trade. Involving Wade and the Lakers with Fin Smith made its rounds across the league. The Rockets quickly moved on to the veteran two-way wing and offered him a 4 year $52.7 million contract. These trade talks between Cleveland and Houston happened the week between the NBA draft and free agents. — Who
— cares now if it didn’t happen? — I’m gonna tell you
— right now. This caught my eye real quick because that means if this is true, a team was willing to give Dean Wade a full mid-level exception. Which is $14 million per year. And in this instance, according to Brett Siegel, the Cavaliers reportedly declined an offer. For a team that clearly coveted Wade if they were willing to give him — a contract similar to Dor would it have
— gotten them under the apron? It depends on what they got back. I’m I don’t believe that. I think that’s bullshit. Why would they, if he is a useless player, why would they not do that? That is what I was getting to is this seems crazy to me if that’s the Rockets were willing to give him that much money. And later in the port, he mentioned it was a sizable offer. And the turned that down. — I don’t know a
— month later he’s recording it. — There’s
— no way that this is true. If it is true, D Wade need to go right up to Kobe Alman and slap him, and I don’t even promote violence, but if you go cut a man’s pockets like that, that’s ridiculous. $52 million is that’s what that was. D Wade is a freaking stiff. Why do you think Dan Gilbert would, would. Not want to get out of the luxury, the extra 2 apron stupid thing. They’re keeping Dean Wade. That doesn’t make any sense. Did, did his agent talk to somebody? There’s no way this has this has to be his agent saying like trying to put him you thought Finny Smith was nice. They wanted to get D Wade the back too. The Cavs just didn’t even want it like that. — Like they stopped that from just
— trading D Wade does not get the Cavs gets them closer, not all the way. So yeah, we need to be all the way under. — So you need to get all the way Dean
— Wade is a useless player, — so
— I mean he, here’s the thing though, I will say this, oh, the vanilla wolf, uh oh, is one of the highest levels of fool’s goal. What he does is you don’t gotta give him touches. He’s 6’8, 6 ft can shoot the ball. Is a plus defender. And it’s not gonna give you no problems. He’s the kid in the classroom that’s willing to take the trash out. The teacher ain’t gotta notice him. They like, man, we ain’t said nothing to Dean all day. And what happens is you fool yourself into giving them them rotation minutes, right? You invest them. That first round come around that that that that it turned right back into a pumpkin coach. You’d be like, what happened to Dean? When Jason said that one year, I’d never forget it in my life. This is the greatest quote Jason Lloyd ever said. Yeah, when they moved on from Kevin, Kevin Love, really messed Dean up. I said. How does moving on from a man that played your position and opened minutes up for you mess you up? They have moved on from Tyvis. G. Bush was messed up, bro. That’s you know what they said that’s what. John King said about Jameis when they moved on from Jam and gave DTR that spot. That’s what kind of messed messed him up. How does that like you gotta go out there you gotta play. Now you — can properly
— evaluate. He’s like I was the backup guy. There was no pressure being a backup. All I gotta do is hit two shots. Now I’m I’m the white guy. That’s tough. And Jeromey Jerome found out that’s kind of tough to do. We’d be asking y’all to play. I mean, I know Mike and Jason were hyping up Dean Wade in the regular season, — our backup power forward
— Larry. Yeah, we good. Oh yeah, — I guess you can you can good and Larry be shooting
— and you can’t and just cutting his salary is not gonna put us on. No, — I
— don’t care. I mean, do we really, I only care about that. I don’t care how much money Dan Gilbert saves. We only care if it can help them get other points. Yeah, we want them otherwise I don’t give a crap if they’re above. What if they do him and Craig Porter Jr. Uh, let me look again. I don’t believe so. But then you have to resign two guys, Ty, and no teams is gonna take on the money. No, the answer to your question, no, so they riding in the the only team I don’t even think D Wade. at all. I, I, I would just, you know, let’s play Jalen Tyson. Let’s play. I know he’s a different position, but let, let’s give some minutes to guys who actually could have potential. I saw an article but I didn’t click on it. It said that Kenny had a heart to heart with Jalen Tyson or something you know something about that. I saw tweets, but I don’t know what that is. I’d be shocked if Jan Tyson doesn’t get this. I would genuinely be shocked if he does not get. A legitimate chance to prove he’s an NBA caliber rotation. Oh, — by the
— way, you know how we talked about like fans crapping on players the second they’re gone from here. Everybody talked about, I know, and we all know he was terrible in in the Pacers series, but man, everybody loved Ty Jerome. The second he was gone, Lonzo Ball all of a sudden is a superstar. By the way, if before, if before that, before that Pacers series, if you would have asked every Cavs fan, would you trade Ty Jerome for Alonzo Ball, 0 would say yes. 0. Now every fan said they want that trade. You’d think Lonzo Ball can actually make it through a season. Is that a question? No, he can’t make it through a question. I, I was gonna say there’s a lot of proof that says he probably will not make it through the season, you know, according to McNuggets, they went to Victor Oladipo’s, uh, workout, you know what I’m saying, — and he ain’t played in how many year 5 man
— that guy was like a. — He has the greatest
— peak. I mean he was serviceable. I don’t know. I make a comeback? The Cavs were at his workout. What? He he ain’t signing for nothing but the minimum, — so
— I’d rather have him than D Wade. I know they don’t play the same position, but. — Which is
— really done with him. Terrible, but in the playoffs you just can’t trust him. Like in the regular season in the playoffs. — He’ll go to Lifetime Fitness and drop 55
— points on. Oh no, he’s got to. Like, — did
— you see that video of Scalabrini going down there? Oh yeah, what’s his name? I forget his name. — I know that
— guy who talks a lot of trash and fouls. — Is he plays he’s like famous guy
— down there. Yeah, he backs down. He fouls the crap out of them, but in New York so you can’t call fouls. — You don’t call
— fouls in New York. No, no, no. I don’t fouls. I want to ask y’all this question. former professional athletes like at at their sport, baseball, basketball, football, how which one of those groups of people are the most dominant against civilians? — So out of three sports like
— baseball. Oh, it’s baseball. Yeah, I don’t know, — like Miles Garrett
— against civilians but I just, — I just saw at a golf outings
— in basketball because most people could. If you can make a shot, — you might be able to score some points like
— I know you and the reason is. I know y’all seen this on on Reels or Twitter or whatever. They was at a golf outing and it was, I think it was, uh, Vince Carter. They were shooting the ball, so Vince Carter pulled up — like from the grass in this like basketball
— hoop like Steph Curry. — It was
— Vince Carter, he pulled up and made it. Then it was Grant Hill. They gave the ball to him and he made the same shot. Then it was Ray Allen and he made the same shot, but this is like from 30 ft away, one try after each other. And I was like, people don’t understand how — how crazy basketball
— players are. But like the thing is, you ain’t touch. — No baseball
— hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do. Yeah, you’re right. I, I saw they were interviewing, you know how they have the celebrity softball game before the All-Star game. They were interviewing this one guy. I, I never heard of him. I don’t know who he is, and they were asking him like. How many hits do you think you can get off a major league pitcher if you got 100 at bats? He’s like, about 30. I’m like, are you out of your mind? You couldn’t get any. — He gets signed
— today. OK, hold on. I, I might be lying. If they said no, this is, this is, this is facts civilian having to tack with Derek Henry. Yeah, Derrick Henry would put people into coma. I guess if you were like. There’s a chance of death. Well, most people, I guess some people maybe like if you’re a bodybuilder or something, maybe like if you put a woman at the plate and she just can’t hit a fastball, that’s great. Or if she can’t you’re not she would literally. Touch the gates of heaven. She’s like, but yeah, but like if it’s just a civilian, like tackle Nick Chu. — I
— don’t think Derrick Henry would do that like a woman like trying to tackle him. Just put Ann out there. Listen, Ant’s got enough physical issues. He gets hurt. I can’t afford to lose him. That was the year last week so I didn’t hear what you guys have already talked about this. We’ll wrap up in one sec, but boy, I know you did not watch, so you were excused from this conversation. G and Tyvis, what do you think of Tyrese Proctor and Aqua Tomlin, uh, — Jordan Tyson Summerly
— I listen, this is why Jan Jalen Tyson got a jumper like that. I, I, I like the fact that when Craig Porter Jr. went out. Um, yes, we watch Summer League around here and I do watch it, and I do watch it because it doesn’t matter that Emani Bates isn’t here anymore. I watch Summer League, — so I like
— the fact he get picked up again. Oh, we’ll see. He might, he might want to just go to China and shoot a bunch of shots, you know what I’m saying? Get your checks over there. Uh, but listen, Jalen Tyson, I like the fact that this man. Is he has some point guard skills. I didn’t like the fact that he was turning the ball over late like he bang some turnovers that cost him a game one time, but I like the fact that he showed that he can move and, and, and move the ball and could dribble a little better and create. Now this they call Tomlin dude McNuggets, I’m, I’m conflicted. Because — he has what I would call like the old man
— game. Do you know his backstory real quick? You know he never didn’t play high school basketball basketball. He grew up grew up in New York, played street ball, played Rucker Park. A coach saw him one night. Ended up going, I think D2 then transferred around, but he never played high school basketball. His game is unique because He learned. How old is he? He’s 24. He’s from Harlem. Skip to the playoffs one year. I was mad, but he has a game where it’s like, well he went he eventually, Mike. Yeah, he ended up at Memphis. He knocked he was knock down some shots that I think he can knock down. and he, and he had, he was getting, he’s not really big, but he was getting offensive rebound. He got this in-between game where I don’t know, I’m like, — Are you
— nice? — Are you nice like
— this? — I don’t know if he a small forward or
— by the way, I got root for this guy now. The, the, the junior college that he started at, I actually know that school because it was about 20 minutes away from my college. Monroe, yeah, it’s in Rochester, New York. That’s where he went. I know that school well because we used to like cover their basketball game when I was in college. He’s got a unique like so when I saw the Dean Wade thing, and I’m glad you brought up Tomlin, I didn’t want to dive into a Tomlin conversation because I, I understand Bull was unfamiliar with anything that had to do with Tomlin. It’s OK. Yeah, I had no clue who he was. — Had you heard of him before
— this year? Uh, he played in the regular season. He played a game he played against the Bucks. — I remember
— he’s on a two deal with the Cavs. If you move on from Wade. Tomlin is the natural filling next guy to kind of fill that spot as the 4th big plays a little bit of wing. His offensive game, it’s it’s wonky. Like is legit, he had 3 level score. If you, if you ever have played basketball, you’ll know what I’m gonna say. Yeah, it’s, he’s a guy that you watch and you’re like, how the hell that go in, but he, he makes those shots if you play pickup, there’s always the guy there and it’s not in the bad. — I don’t mean that as a bad
— thing. Who’s that big white dude on Utah? Is he like that guy? No, he’s not, he’s not a big. He’s not a big. He’s a. He’s 69, — but he’s a
— no, but this guy’s not a big either. No, no, no, he’s, — he looks like doesn’t look like a Walker
— Kessler is the big white guy. — Maybe it’s
— not about the rocket league dude that was no, no, this guy’s not a summer league. He’s been in the league for a long time on Utah. — They’re two big white guys are Kessler
— and Mark. Mark doesn’t play yeah. He’s like balding. He doesn’t look like the left-handed guy from Joe Eagles, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, that guy, you look at him, you’re like he’s a pretty good player. He kind of got the same Joe Ingles. He’s a little bit better athlete than that, but this guy, he’s he’s a much better athlete. — He’s
— a
— we just saying he’s a better athlete because he’s black? Let’s be honest. No, he’s not a great athlete. He’s not gonna just be dunking over people and just blowing pie, but you know people will just, you know, you know, especially white people will just assume the black guy is a better athlete because he’s black. — He dropped
— 30. I love when I love when when some white people be like, yeah, he’s a good base runner. He’s got one steal. — Just because he’s black doesn’t mean he just sent
— you Tom when he had a career high 35 points in the GLeague last year. When we’re doing super chats, look over. I want, I’m gonna start watching this guy. I think he’s gonna be May Bates, this guy. OK, right. I’m down with this guy. — He’s a UCSS
— slot for that to get back to where we started, I’m fascinated by Tom. I legitimately am because there’s something to his game that’s unique and he just, he’s he’s in the right spot at the right time. Puts. He finds ways to make shots and you’ll see. In the clip I sent you, and I want you to watch it when I’m doing super chats. I’m serious. It’s like is that a good but it goes in and he he took it again and it it’s a good shot for him, but it’s not. — I’m
— intrigued
— I emailed to him, yeah, emailed to you intrigued by his offensive skill. Yes, and he, and he’s a good rebounder. I mean, I mean he, he, he just has one of those things where it’s a that he knows where the ball is. He, he hit a lot of open shots where I’m like, oh you. Shooting at, OK, — like basketball instincts and
— plus he, he was getting 30 plus. It wasn’t just one game, he was getting 30. He was, he was getting it off like that’s just, that’s him. It’s a weird game. I want, I want, I meant to ask McNuggets about that. I forgot about that because I was watching them — like man I don’t know about this man’s
— game. This is from the league. I do that and you guys, we’ll get their instant reaction Tomlin. We got two reads before we get too. Super jets. First, is FanDuel. Summer sports are in full swing. Dean Wade could very well be on the trading block as the Cleveland Cavaliers look to get under the second apron of the NBA’s CBA. Dean Wade is known as a defensive specialist, but fans of the Cavaliers have grown sour of the 6’8 forward who averaged less than 6.0 ppg in the 2024-25 campaign.
UCSS discusses Dean Wade and the chances the Cleveland Cavaliers move on.

Who's more useless. Dean Wade as a player or bull as a sports talk guy?
Houston would play wade at his natural position power forward same with new jersey who wanted him plus Cavs can’t trade wade they don’t have a replacement
After Dean Wade saved my behind from being burned by leading the Cavaliers to that huge comeback against the Celtics in March 2024, he has been absolutely no help for Cleveland, both in the regular season and the playoffs.
I like Dean Wade but he's not the kind of role player to inconsistent and streaky
A bit confused by the positioning here. The Cavs are currently $18.4m over the 2nd apron and Wade only gets $6.6m, leaving an additional $11.8m to go. Even dumping Lonzo ($10m) or Merrill ($8.4m) wouldn’t get them there. None of this makes any sense, so I’m not buying it.
Bull is a waste of a conversation
12:12 Naw.. try to tackle Bull 😂
Losing Wade doesn't get them under the 2nd apron.
Losing him means they would need to sign a vet minimum player.
Wade is not "useless" Bull, ya idiot
The fact that none of them laugh at Mike reading the live read for a the viagra knockoff says that they had a meeting about it lol
Replace this stiff with Tomlin asap
Dean Wade is leagues more competent at what he does than those two portly buffoons who waste their days bed-mouthing him while doing what they do.
Mcnuggets loved Rugiet so much he made it a sponsor 😂
Yall keep saying "Dean Wade can shoot" but his numbers says mediocre.
Okoro was actually shooting better than him before he injured his shoulder 😂
Bull is so ignorant about the NBA that it is confusing why he speaks at all. Mike has a very professional demeanor and the patience of a saint to put of with Bull when he says anything about the Cavs or NBA or basketball. Very little knowledge for someone who is paid to speak about professional sports.
Dean wade is a good 13th man
Bull would know what a stiff is because nobody is a bigger still then him. I really wish Bull would move back to the pig pen he came from
Sam got almost 10 mill per year…4 Guaranteed years…for a player that's not a top 8 PLAYOFF rotational player!
Hey fat guy you don’t know $hit about basketball and it’s amazing people watch you like you do… the young kid does but big guy telling me I should feel about basketball is ridiculous
Yeah we know, they’re incompetent
Dean wade is not a useless player. He is a good defensive role player.
Cavs better not give him up
Wade is younger and same impact on defense as finney Smith
Tomlin makes Wade very expendable
They turned down dean wade for cam whitmore lmao. What more evidence do you people need this team has no clue.
Your front office is useless lol couldve had cam whitmore lmao instead you have dean wade hahahaha 😂 sucks to be you
Bull criticism of professional athletes and calling them stuffs blows my mind. I get he's talking about production in the profession. However Bull literally knows like 4% of the topics discussed in todays sports while he gets paid to talk about sports ( his profession )… So who is a stiff ?
Nae’quan Tomlin is the Cavs’ current version of Andy Varejao: high motor, relentless offensive rebounder, hops, decent defender.
Tomlin is not as strong as Andy, but he is a better scorer.
