The Portland Trailblazers Rebuild is THRIVING!!!

The Portland Trailblazers Rebuild is THRIVING!!!

The Portland Trailblazers have quickly become one of my favorite rebuilds to see in the NBA. While they haven’t necessarily hit a height of the Orlando Magic or obviously the Oklahoma City Thunder, I think this Portland team is showing legitimate signs of steps to come to becoming that kind of team to knock on the door of the playoffs or to play in to really make teams on a night not just go, “Oh, we’re playing Portland. We’re okay.” No, you’re going to respect and you’re going to fear this team and we’re back. another episode of the rebuild report by your boy Msteros Hoops. So, let’s get right into it. And we have to start with who I think right now is the centerpiece of this rebuild, and that is Denny Adia. I genuinely believe that the way Denny Adia has continued to improve year after year, not just on his three-point game, but on becoming a legitimate facilitator and passer, the way that he has grown his game is important for this rebuild because again, I believe the way that Denny has been working has been remarkable because again, he’s giving you two-way play that not a lot of players in this league can provide on a night innight out basis. I think his offense is becoming a consistency and quite frankly I think it is the most consistent offense on this Blazers team right now. Scoo obviously can provide some passing and playmaking. Uh you know Shaden Sharp can provide a scoring punch, but then he’s giving you everything. He can pass and playmake. He can score just as good as just about anybody in the league sometimes. He can do everything. And when you have a jack of all trades as the current center of your rebuild, what more do you really need to ask for? And at that point, this rebuild is already looking bright because not a lot of guys, not a lot of rebuilds right now have that that consistency amongst one of its best players, I think, is important because the other players are going to learn to adapt and be like that. So for Denny to sort of right now at least be that centerpiece I think is huge and it makes me very confident in the Trailblazers because they’re realizing how they kind of got to build and I think Denny as a secondary playmaker hoping that Scoot comes along or even as a primary for a little bit is not bad at all. It’s Jaylen Johnson like and I don’t think Denny gets that same amount of respect as Jaylen Johnson does. And I think it’s because he’s in the West where there’s KD and LeBron and all of these wings. That if he was in the East, I think we would look at him like Jaylen Johnson maybe a little better. To be honest, I genuinely believe the way that Denny Adia plays, I think this guy can be something very special. And I think that already makes me feeling very positive about this rebuild. However, we need to talk about Scoot Henderson, who this team hoped was going to be the superstar of the rebuild and how he’s coming along. Scoot Henderson in his sophomore year has shown legitimate signs of growth. Obviously, he’s still a very good passer and showing signs of developing that playmaking outside of just, you know, having to rely on his freak athleticism. I think what’s even more important is the three ball. So last year in his rookie season he shot 4.3 threes a game at 33% which is horrible for his you know at least the volume 35% on about four and a half so about five a game but again I think what’s interesting is this is with a minute reduction right this is with him not starting as much is with him having to take more of a backseat which is a bit of a negative if you’re the Blazers right because this this guy you took second overall this is the guy you were hoping was going to be the guy or third overall my apologies not And because of that, now you’re sort of fighting the hope that he’s going to be a legitimate starter on this team. And I think he will be now that Simons is gone. Your starting lineup should basically be Scoot, Shaden, Denny, and then Jeremy Grant for now unless you trade him and then Klingan. But either way, that’s your starting five. And I think Scoot’s going to look better just because I think he has that confidence now. And he knows he doesn’t have to be a scoreer. He can be again just a facilitator, playmaker. And he again and again, I think that’s important for a team to have sometimes. Not everyone can be a superstar. Not everyone can score 20 to 25 a game. I think if you’re the Blazers, while obviously you hope Scoot would be better for what he was at the pick that he you got him at, I think what he’s showing you is just as if not more valuable because now you have room for other guys to grow and you’re not already like, “Okay, well Scoot has to be our guy.” The Blazers are not moving like that. And that again makes me really confident in this rebuild because some teams, you know, they try and force it. They draft a high up guy and they’re like, “This is our guy. We’re going to just move heaven and earth, make it happen. He’s the one.” And sometimes it works out, right? Like you have the talent. It just shows right away. But they didn’t do that with Scoot, right? Scoot only started 10 games this year. So, I think it’s already clear Portland is very, very self-aware in this rebuild. And that to me already shows this rebuild is going to a different level. Jaden Sharp, I think, is the final piece that we really need to talk about, the scoring punch. The guy who’s supposed to kind of be your primary scoreer every single night. I think this season shows a lot of good signs if you’re a Trailblazers fan, right? I mean, he averaged 19 five and three, right? Again, he’s a scoring punch. He’s not necessarily your all-around superstar. I’m concerned about his three ball. Every year since his rookie season, it’s gone down and the volume has only gone up. So, at what point do you kind of, as you know, the development staff or coaching staff go, Shaden, clearly this isn’t working. Whether it be the kind of threes he’s taking, whether it be how he’s getting to his three ball, whatever it is, it’s not falling. And as a rebuilding team, I get it. You want to get through growing pains, but there’s also a point you can’t run into a brick wall, right? Like, if Shaden this year is around the low 30s again at six or seven to 10 from three, guys, I I it’s okay to pull over a young player and go, we need to either figure out what what’s going on with this jumper. We need to stop taking as many threes or we need to find a better way to get you as a scorer, like to make you even better. Because again, I think Denny is right now their centerpiece. He is the all-around guy. I think that Henderson is meant to be their big playmaker, their passer, their facilitator. But I think at the end of the day, he has to crack 20. I really do. I think if he could get you 21, 22 next season, I think the rebuild’s probably going in the right direction because I’m assuming that at that point, you probably got him and Denny getting you close to 20 plus a night. You still have Jeremy Grant, unfortunately. You got Donovan Klingan, whose scoring is not meant to be a thing. Scoot I think will probably increase his scoring a little bit but again he’s meant to facilitate and pass and playmake. Shaden Sharp I think has to find a way to develop his overall scoring ability because again his field goal percentage is immaculate. That’s what you want. 45% that’s very very good for a scoring first guard. So always guys the rebuild report you know how it goes. I always end this with a a letter grade and I’m giving the Portland Trailblazers an A. I think with this current rebuild, the Blazers look like they’re really primed to start off. And I think they can make the play this year. I really do. I wouldn’t do not be surprised if at the 10 seed, you got the Portland Trailblazers, a nine seed, because again, this team defensively is legit, right? You lost Aiden. I get that. But now you Klingan, I’m assuming, is going to have the build, right? The cardio, the the exercise level, whatever you want to call it. The physique will be there now. like he’ll be prepared for the NBA level and higher minutes. And I think you still have Tammani Kamara. Portland has a direction, right? They have veterans there now. Dame has been brought back. Drew’s there even though clearly he doesn’t want to be, but that’s a different story. And I think they can help this locker room. I think they saw what Houston did and said, “We can kind of do some of that. Like we can bring in vets who can help guide our young guys night in and night out and they can help develop them in some ways that maybe our training staff just can’t.” I think what you’re going to see from this team is probably gonna it’s going to be a lesser rockets. They’re going to try and slow you down. Danny and Scoot are going to get going in transition and when you get into the half court, you got to trust the ball in Shaden Sharp’s hands and hope he can get you some buckets. But I think you’re going to see Donovan Klingan become more involved. Yang Hos in there. I think this team is looking very legit, you guys. I think this team is going to be a lot of fun to watch. I’m giving them an A. uh first episode of the rebuild report for this off seasonason. I’ve got to be I gotta be real like this is one of the the rebuilds and one of the teams I genuinely might have to tune in and watch more. And that to me is when you also get an A. When you make me want to tune in and see how the rebuilds going along, that is where I know a rebuild’s starting to really go in the right direction. So, as always guys, this is Mos Hoops. Let me know what you guys think down below. Are you happy the real build report is back? And if so, what would you grade the Portland Trailblazers? As always guys, this is Mos Hoops. Don’t don’t forget to leave a like, comment, subscribe. Have a beautiful rest of your day, guys.

The Portland Trailblazers have quietly turned into one of the most fun and entertaining young rebuilds in the NBA, with a budding young trio that can maybe bring this team to fighting for a play in spot where at that point anything can happen. We are BACK with the rebuild report and I grade a rebuild that I think in just a few years can make a dangerous team in the Western Conference. With Deni Avdija looking like a star in the making, Scoot Henderson becoming a great playmaker at heart, and Shaedon Sharpe looking like the scoring punch this team will need in the halfcourt, this rebuild looks like nothing but up from here!! Let me know what you guys think about the Portland Trailblazers and their rebuild!! #nba #lebronjames #stephencurry #kevindurant #portlandtrailblazers #yanghansen #deniavdija #scoothenderson #victorwembanyama
