Chris Paul is returning to the Los Angeles Clippers
Yesterday, Shams reported that Chris Paul has returned to the Los Angeles Clippers, making possibly one of the deepest teams in the West. However, the biggest factor for them will be injury and age. It’s really that stamina of how many how long the players can sustain their level of play before getting injured. It’s going to be tough, but I think without injuries, this is a top four roster in the NBA. You have Brook Lopez, you have Zubac, you have uh Chris Dunn, Derek Jones, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Chris Paul. It’s an impressive squad, but age will be a big factor in their success this season and specifically injury stamina. How long can you go without getting injured? I believe James Harden last year was pretty good. He got I think it was like 77 or 79 games, which is incredible at mid30s, you know, 35, 34 years old. And Chris Paul at 40 played 82 games. Now Chris Paul was going off the bench, but still 82 games is still an accomplishment, especially at the age of 40. So it really comes down to their success. Their success for the season comes down to how well they can fight the injury bug. If all of them can stay healthy for a good portion of the season, they can easily be a top four, top five seed in the West. They did it last year. They were the fifth seed last year. But again, their entire success comes down to injury. As for as far as the deal, the Chris Paul back to the Clippers, I love it. I love seeing him return to Los Angeles. I think it’s a really good move and it really provides a great depth for the team and it also provides a great veteran leader to lead that second unit when it comes onto the court. So overall, very good deal, but I’m very interested to see how well they do.
