We could be your friends every single day. So, I appreciate you guys supporting me here. I hope you guys can go support me there. Uh always blown away by it. So, thanks for that, man. especially uh in these dog days of summer. We’re having fun, baby. Um, I wanted to get to a couple of comments here from Eric Spolster because we haven’t I didn’t get to finish the uh the whole autopsy of his press conference the other day and uh you know he he still had some some pretty interesting things in there. Some beefy stuff and a lot of it on the like just his takeaways of the season and then I thought some of his stuff on Haime Hakez Jr. was was really fascinating as well. But he said uh this was him on the main takeaways that he has of the season. And do with it what you will. There’s a few takeaways. Um I don’t need to get into the the whole deal, right? You know, right there. I think we we really started to put it together. You know, there were a lot of things obviously happened. Um, and we pride ourselves in in hitting stride and getting better as the season goes on at the right times. It happened very late for us. It happened in about the last 10 games. Uh, and then that led to two really competitive playin games. Big picture, that’s not where we want to be. But it felt like we were building something in those 10 games. And those two games were exhilarating. the locker room was alive after that Atlanta uh game and then it was a buzz kill after that. Um but there’s different levels to this. We understand that buzzkill is putting it lightly. Buzzill buzzkill is like when you’re watching your favorite TV show and the finale doesn’t live up to the hype. I wouldn’t exactly call getting uh smited by the Cleveland Cavaliers by a record margin of defeat after exhilarating playing games. I wouldn’t exactly put that under the category of buzzkill, you know, like to me it was a little bit more than a buzzkill. I I I I get it. you know, Spo doesn’t want to uh, you know, cry over it, but man, I I am curious. The one thing I’ll give them on the Jimmy thing, and is, you know, with Jimmy, this has nothing to do with the chaos. All right, I’m tired of hearing about that. The only thing that I’m going to be curious about is, you know, Jimmy typically with his injury issues, not bearing the the year that his MCL got got uh messed up in the playin game, typically his issues were first half issues and then, you know, you get him and yeah, it kind of was always with him and even he knows this like he was always kind of a he was kind of always a ramp up player and I’m I am wondering ing, you know, again, hoping the talent is good enough. But, okay, if we’re going to play Spo Advocate here and we’re going to we’re going to believe what what the the Hall of Famer future Hall of Famer coaching mastermind has to say, you know, does having that consistency of a roster bear out a little bit more? Will it will it help? Um, you know, that’s going to be certainly an interesting thing. Um, you know, Tyler had a really good season last year as far as durability was concerned. You hope that is now the trend for him because, you know, Pat Riley described him as fragile. In fairness to Tyler, a couple of those were pretty fluke injuries. It’s not like he’s always getting a groin or a hammy all the time. Um, you know, he’s a guy who is in shape. But I but I do hope that you know Bam probably one of the most durable players in the league. I mean what’s his one serious injury? Like a thumb thing like that that a freak thumb thing that happened to him that he had to get surgery on and still came back and played like the best defender in the league. Wiggins typically a very durable player and and got hurt. Uh Powell, he’s he’s had some things that have that have kind of nicked him uh with with with injuries over the last couple years, but certainly got to think that those areas of continuity. Maybe that’ll help. But man, I I I really don’t want to hear about, you know, exhilaration and what they were saying. But here was the rest of his answer on on things that he found into the season. You know, those close games are are something that we’ve really uh analyzed. um that can change the trajectory of your season if you handle those moments of truth better and you you have uh few more wins out of those groupings of games that were very winnable, fourth quarter leads, that kind of stuff. Whole league’s trying to figure that out. Um but that’s given us something to to really uh dive into. Um and then offensively, you know, building a system where uh you know, it can be dynamic. um and a little bit tougher to uh to just prepare for if you’re on the other side. I mean, I think in my mind, both of those are way more important. I mean, the Heat and their fourth quarter collapses last year. mind-numbing with how this team found ways to lose. From the man himself, the man you just heard, forgetting timeouts to Tim Hardaway, you know, turning into NBA jam with three-pointers after getting up eight in overtime to the four buzzer beater losses at home this year. I mean, it it was it was insane. It was insane to see some of the ways the Miami Heat figured out to lose, but they were a horrific fourth quarter team last season. And you you got to hope that this man with a year with a summer of assessment has come up with some type of answers. The offensive system, that one I’m certainly curious about. You know, that was what that was one of the big things Jimmy uh was upset about last year. You know, ball out of his hands, threes and layups. You know, kind of the the chic thing that everybody was doing, but um you know, a lot of that was built around a team that was going to have Terry and Tyler on the floor together. You know, Kevin Love was starting. Uh you know, Nico, was Kevin Love starting or Nico started on opening night? I think it was Nico, excuse me. Um, and this is I would imagine, you know, he’s got a couple different ways. I mean, he could start with Nico in the starting lineup again and and have Bam at the five or he could go with Bam and wear. I I think it’s going to be a camp competition to be honest with you because I I think that they’re going to continue to test Kell. So, I’m not going to I’m not going to write where and pen yet because I feel like the Heat are going to go into this wanting him to earn it. Um, and especially between both of those young guys and you know, Spo had kind of laid down this challenge to Nico. If you guys hadn’t heard it, he likes, you know, wants him to go and become part of one of the the true like parts of the rotation closers for the Serbian team. So yeah, it’s going to be interesting to see how the key the the Heat go about this because I think if Wiggin if Wiggins is coming back, I think you could probably write in pen. Well, you could you could write in pen for sure. Bam and Tyler. You could probably write in pen Andrew Wiggins. And then the big questions are going to be all right. Is the starting guard going to be Norman Powell? I would lean Norman Powell or DaVon Mitchell. And then the big is going to be either Nico or Kell. So that’s going to be an interesting one for sure. But whatever it is, yeah, they have to figure out a way to become more dynamic and become more unpredictable. I think one of the things that they have is unpredictability is Nicola Yovic with the ball in his hands. Casper’s Yakonas. What can that guy actually be? What is he going to provide for them? uh you know the mix of DaVon Mitchell with Powell then with Tyler staggering those guys maybe having one of them on the court at all times. Um, and you know, then you know, it’s going to be interesting to see what, you know, Bam had this year where he just got off to such a a a crappy offensive start. Um, and then in the midst of the season, found his stride again and especially with the three ball. Um, and then how does he ride that balance of the shooter and the and the guy who has to be physical and driving and and attacking the basket? because I would like to see a lot more guys attack the basket on this team. You know, Norman Powell made a big point of that with this of not being, you know, a a a offense that is going to let the teams off the hook. And yeah, you know, you I’m not saying they got to throw their neck at the rim at all times. You got Pal who’s got a really great floater. You got Tyler Hero’s got the patented baby float. Um but certainly Bam. I mean, there has to be some measure of Bam, Wiggins, all these guys being able to to get their heads at the rim and um and put pressure on the on the defense to create other stuff and create open looks. So, we’ll we’ll got believe it when I see it because I got to I got to see it to believe it. But, it’s a great thing that Spose put in there. I certainly like the the fir the the second half of the answer better than the first half cuz I’m like let’s not put lipstick on a pig for that. It was it was a a horse bleep season. It was Yeah. a lot of things that were out of the Heat’s control, injuries, drama, all fine, but also assessing the talent, you know, now they get a little bit of a boost. They got guy’s being a little bit older. Is it going to be good enough? Unable to say that yet. Um, and he also was talking about the East, about it being wide open, and he had said that like, you know, rooting for the, you know, thinking that you only have a chance because guys are injured. He called it a losers mentality, which he’s a maniac. That’s why that that is why you love Spo’s a pure maniac. Look, I’m dying for this man to have answers. I am. I hope that what Pat Riley said, you know, I hope that he got away from it, he came back reinvigorated. I’m excited for it, man. Like, I was, it was goosey seeing Norman Powell with, you know, Spo and the and the and the whole coaching staff that was out there going to Norman Powell’s uh workout and uh and checking things out and seeing how the team was and seeing what their new player can bring to the table. I think that’s I think that’s great. Um, and I don’t discount the Miami Heat not having any drama helping. I think that this I think that definitely will help. Um, but ultimately it is, look, it’s a talent league and we really got to see like what what guys are going to take leads from because that’s the X factor of it and it’s why look maybe that’s why they had to to get serious with Kell because I think they do know like whatever you think of his motor and and the criticisms that he’s going through right now. I think we all have eyes and we can all see that that guy is probably one of the bigger freaks that they have on the team and they need him and they can’t really afford to have him go on this slow roll growing. You know, they can’t the Heat really can’t afford another sophomore slump. They can’t afford another Himez sophomore slump. Um, now he’s younger so maybe you expect it a little bit more. Spo does always say, “Hey, it’s not always an incline. It’s sometimes it’s it’s peaks and valleys, but I think the Heat are trying to mitigate having any of those valleys be mental and be, you know, basketball spiritual with him. They they need that. If it’s physical, cool. If it’s the league figuring things out, fine. But they they can’t I think they are in the point where they know how good he is. And uh and I think D. Wayade was talking about this a little bit on his podcast where he goes like, you know, you got to buy into Spo Like if you want to be great, you buy into what he’s saying. And I think they and he’s like, yeah, they know he can be great, but he’s got to buy in. So Spo putting it out there. And uh yeah, I definitely hope that he comes back with some better answers because they need them.

Bam for Giannis ? 😮
Spo ain't changing a thing. Spo coaches to a philosophy not to his players strengths. It's why Bam was shooting from 40 feet instead of having him demand the ball in the post.
Spo has the inside scoop. He knows we're not done with making moves
Why is this psychopathic mallcop still allowed to coach Sports?
The guys that are good at finishing at the rim: Ware, Davion, Herro (floater), Wiggins, Powell, Jaime (only when it’s 1v1) & Niko gets to the rim the easiest. Bam is actually bad around the rim unless it’s a put back dunk. I’d rather see Bam space the floor & become a 3&D player
The offense will only be dynamic if kJ wins rookie of the year. That would mean Jovic and ware are probably doing the best they have in a Miami uniform. And really curious to see Larson in action.
Cant wait to have a really fast pace offense for 3 games to start the season, then resort right back to slow halfcourt offense dribble handoff garbage. Cannot wait. Truth of the matter is the offense has be dreadful to watch for years. Leopards dont change their spots.
sounds like he doesnt consider the offense and the collapses as a problem lol. id be surprised if he makes any significant changes. we're gonna be slowing down the pace, taking last second desperation shots and constipated offensive plays which every team will easily defend. you can tell our players arent used to fast breaks cause they always SUCK at it.
“Let’s not put lipstick on a pig for that” 😂😂😂
Bro every year in training camp he says they're gonna play faster and it's been the same clogged toilet offense for years. The man want to grind out close games so it turns into coin flip games. Which is stupid because now that you don't have a closer (like Jimmy, Dwyane etc) you lose more than you win. This group needs to be moving up and down the court. If the team sucks, at least make it an enjoyable product to watch.
I want them to sign Thomas Bryan’s as a backup center start ware and bam together all year let them cook
I’m confident Spo will start Powell at the 4 next to bam cuz Spo has no creative ideas besides putting a small at the 4,cuz ware can show he can play but that’s not enough for Spo
It's literally his job, our pace and urgency are still a problem under him
If the roster stays as is. Starting 5. Ware. Bam. Herro. Mitchell an wiggins
Next time you get to talk to Spo could you please float the idea of a offensive coordinator? ;(
Jovic is not a center and I ain't the 1st to say that. He is a 1 or 2 guard. Don't have no business down there in that paint with Bam. He is a very tall guard with nowhere the defensive present of Ware.
We just gotta pick up the pace, we’ll be aight
The fixing that happens in training camps is greatly exaggerated at this point. The key thing will be reps for the younger guys. That will lead to development and asset value increase…which will in turn into talent improvement with trades. They are still mid I hate mid. Worse place to be as an NBA team. Even worse to be mid in perpetually. Here's hoping that sinks in this season.
Bam needs to be able to fckn dominate in the post when guards switch onto him! I’m tired of him settling for fade away mid range jumpers!
I dont belive it until I see it
Are we asking Bam to be better, or does he continue to get a pass
I really wish spo would just study what the team was doing in the 23-24 season when it was just Bam. We went 18-5 when tyler and jimmy were out and it was the most dominant Bam has ever looked and the most dynamic the teams offense has looked. Bam should just be a fucking point guard!
Until Spoelstra is finally fired, and frankly until Riley is no longer in charge of Miami, the Heat aren't winning ANYTHING!
PERIOD!
I couldn't care less what players are on Miami, they aren't winning a thing with Spo coaching them.
