Hugo, Baylor or Jordan: Who Cracks Celtics Rotation? | Garden Report #shorts

Which of these three guys is going to get the first crack at playing in Joe’s semi-regular rotation? I’m not sure the gap that Baylor had is as wide now as it was before summer league. Ugo was going to be okay, but he needs reps. He needs to play in the GLeague. He needs to get his confidence. He needs to figure out a position. He’s playing with toughness. He’s not backing down. You know, you can tell he’s played internationally. Um, you can tell that he’s played with grown ass men. So, I think he’s not intimidated, but he just needs reps. He needs to play. They need to send his ass to Maine so he can get 30, 35 minutes a game. Baylor, he’s playing hard. He’s doing the little things. So, you can probably figure out the shot. And Jordan, I think, might have the best chance because he can run the floor. He’s got athleticism. He might be an asset this year. As far as just comparing the three guys, like it’s I think it’s human nature to see like, okay, who was like the leader, I guess, as far as potential rotation minutes entering summer league. And I think we agree that Baylor was the one that seemed to be in the lead heading into summer league and Jordan seems to be in the lead now. But I just think about like how many times our opinion has changed on these guys based on a couple game sample. Like after preseason, I was like Xavier Tilman, he’s going to come in and he’s going to be awesome during the season. Like he was hitting his threes and like we were all excited about it. We were all hoodwinkedked and bamboozled. All of us. Thinking Jordan Walsh after summer league. I was like, “This guy might not be an NBA player.” And then next thing you know, he comes in the games during the regular season and he’s fine. Like he doesn’t cause any negative things to happen. So I just expect there to be a lot of more highs and lows with these guys because the guys that get drafted around this time, like there’s a reason why they weren’t lottery picks, but at the same time, they also have upside. So, I actually, if I had to guess right now, there’s going to be a month where Baylor Sherman’s more in the rotation, and there’s going to be a month where Baylor’s struggling a little bit and Joe Joe turns a little bit more to Jordan. Um, and what I’d like to see is Joe just give all of these guys a little bit more of an opportunity because it’s going to be a different kind of year. Yeah. And well, Joe’s not going to have a choice. I mean, you know, before if, let’s say, you know, some of those young guys were struggling at the wing position, you just lean a little bit more on, you know, Drew, you lean a little bit more on Derek White, you lean a little bit more on just, you know, your your core, but you don’t have a Drew Holiday anymore. You don’t have a Porzingis anymore. Uh, you you you don’t have Tatum for, you know, most if not all of the season. So, those young guys are going to have to step up.
