NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs LA Clippers | July 24, 2025 | Warriors vs Clippers 2K Preseason
Is the league too offensive at the moment, you think? Well, we know that people like scoring, the fans, players, everyone. But the league needs to make sure there aren’t hamstringing defenders too much. So, I think allowing some more physicality, incentivizes the defender to defend, and now we have competition on both sides of the ball. And for the Warriors, Jimmy Butler out there with Trace Jackson Davis. Then there’s Pat Conton. Then it’s Moses Moody. And it’s Curry in at the point guard. And for the Clippers, we’ve got Eva Tubots, John Collins out there with Kawhi Leonard. Then it’s James Harden. And it’s done in at the two. And a miss there on the triple. That was a good possession. They got a clean look. The shot just didn’t fall. Pass to Curry with a tie. Oh, Curry. A sick triple. This is what it’s been since halftime. Remarkable results from downtown. In the modern NBA, you have to hit threes to win games. And they’ve made that adjustment since the break. Leonard with the ball. Zubox with a screen on Conson. Leonard for three. Leonard a threat from deep. His first triple of the second half. Can he get it going? Warriors trail by three. Conson outside outside. Moody launches a three. Rebounded by James Harden. Harden’s got six rebounds here tonight from about 16. That shot is off. And imagine how good they’ll look if he can start to chip in a bit more offensively. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. When this game is done, they’ll be off to New Orleans as they take on the Pelicans. It’ll be the start of a three-game trip on the road. Dun outside over Moody. The shot by Dunn. No good. Well, the defense didn’t have any impact on that shot, but somehow he still misses it. And Curry with the take and Harden with the block. Oo, nice hustle on defense from Harden showing a willingness to make an impact on this end. Okay. And they recover it. And it’s slammed in by Zubox. And they’re offensive rebounding is such a strength for them when he’s on the floor. Yeah, he really helps them extend possessions, doesn’t he? Yeah, you can feel coach smiling on the sidelines with every offensive board. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. He’s going to gather the troops and talk it over. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] And the Clippers making a change here. Bees checked in and the Warriors making a switch here. [Applause] Moody on the wing. Pounded by Beal. Moody misses. Los Angeles leading by five. It’s so interesting, Grant. Younger fans may not realize the Clippers had a lot of rough seasons early on. Well, you know, BA, that’s one way to put it. You know, in their first 27 years in LA, they only made the playoffs four times, but things have definitely changed. Owners have changed, and now they’re postseason regulars in the league. outside Curry to halt the run. Knocks down the long J. Curry’s got 32 points in the game. And this has become expected from Curry. Everyone knows how dangerous he is at getting to his spots and capitalizing. It’s back to Harden. [Applause] And the layup falls. Harden’s got 14 points for the game. And they keep on figuring out ways to force the rock inside and convert. Pass to Jackson Davis. Curry surveys. Oh, Curry. What a tough finish. Rising to the challenge. He’s given them everything he’s got. And Harden’s got the ball here for Los Angeles. Four-point game. Here’s Be outside. Harden fires for three. Warriors with the rebound. And keeping us updated from the sideline, Alli Leforce. Well guys, a lot of new developments for the Clippers this season and obviously they have the new arena, new designs for their logo, jerseys, and court. Not only that, their G-League team moving into a brand new arena in Oceanside, renewing the San Diego Clippers moniker. Brian, a lot to be excited about for this Clips team. No question. Good stuff, Ally. Thank you. Just five to shoot. Here’s Leonard again. The Clippers score and just continuing to pile it on. Leonard is such a ruthless player and Steve Kerr calls timeout. I think right now he must be looking at some adjustments. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Yeah. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. Curry. He’s checked in for Curry. And while we have a moment, let’s see some of the contenders for this year’s three-point contest. Some of the players who have a shot to make the final cut. Hey, not a bad list of shooters at all. And really, with how many threes we see in NBA games these days, some of these games have become three-point contests. And you look at Harden, he’s right on the cusp of securing his spot in the three-point contest. So, I hope those votes keep pouring in because he’s a guy you’d love to see in the mix. Yeah, if he can make it in the door, you know, he will do everything he can to win the whole thing and it’ll be a lot of fun to watch. And this year’s contest is really shaping up to be one to remember. Plenty of dead eyee shooters on that list so far. And lots of guys have a three-point shot now, but this list is really the cream of the crop when it comes to putting up long range bombs. And let’s get an update on Brandon Pajk’s injury. Ally, what’d you learn? Thanks, guys. I just talked with the Warriors head athletic trainer. Apparently, it’s a broken nose. No signs of any other facial fractures or a concussion. So, some silver lining there. It’s tough losing a player like this near the halfway point of the season. They’ll just have to find a way to replace his production until he comes back. Back to you guys. Okay, thanks for the update. Good to get that information. Now, we know how things are coming along, Grant. That’s true. It’s the uncertainty factor with injuries that can be so hard to handle and you never want to speculate. So, it’s nice for us and especially his teammates to get some fast [Applause] [Applause] some changes for Los Angeles. Bogdanovich has checked in for John Collins. And Brogden is subbed in for Harden. [Applause] Zubots finds Leonard. Double team on Brogden out to Leonard. 43. Second chance shot. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. First personal. And a chance to look at the block shot numbers over the last few seasons for Brook Lopez. And his shot blocking hasn’t been nearly as potent as it was a few years ago. It’s a shame really because his ability to intimidate the other team and be a big presence on the defensive end really gave his team an edge. The free throw dropped from Zubots. And when you look back at the 2023 draft, the Warriors got great value out of their picks. Yeah, I mean, they got Pajimsky with the 19th pick, a versatile player who impacts the game at both ends, and they also got Trace Jackson Davis late in the second round, and he is a fundamentally sound big man with great upside. And Zubat drops them both. Richard, it comes as no surprise that Golden State is routinely at the top of the league for made threes. That’s how this team has been constructed. They are custom built to rain threes on you and we’ve seen it be very, very effective. Solid pass from the combo guard Curry. Look, people don’t understand he’s not just a shooter, he’s a basketball player. Outside Brogden Leonard with a screen on Curry. Here’s Brogden with the drive. Halled in by Curry. Warriors trail by four from behind the ark. Kawhi Leonard comes up with the rebound outside. Mdonovic pass to post. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Zubox has got rebound number 10 tonight with that last one. Here’s Beiel. Nice D from Moody. And you don’t see that every day. Usually he’ll convert when he gets that close to the rim. Now here’s Jackson Davis. [Applause] 125 left in the third quarter. Five to shoot. Golden State needs to get off a shot. Moody misses. This is the definition of forcing it. He’s trying to get himself going, but taking tough shots just won’t do it. The gets the bucket. Agile move by Theo to beat that inside contact. And there’s the whistle. Illegal screen is the call. And during this last month of action, here is a list of the players who have shot the ball most efficiently so far from deep. Bradley Beal third, fourth, James Harden. Their consistency from range is unbelievable. That’s what every team in the league is looking for these days. Done. He’s checked in for Los Angeles. Los Angeles leading by six. [Applause] There’s 48 seconds left to play in the third. Outside Brogden Zubox with a screen on Curry inside. Second chance effort. Jackson Davis grabs a miss. And to put things simply, this has not been his quarter. Moody passes to Curry. [Applause] There’s 21 seconds left in the third quarter and they’re doing strong work on the glass. A plus five advantage for them. Outside Moody pass to Jackson Davis. One second left. Oh, he got it. He got it to go at the buzzer. Wow. Great job ending the quarter on a high note. That’s the play that pumps up the whole team and they’ll try to carry that energy into the next period. And that’ll do it for the third quarter. It’s Los Angeles. They lead by four. And don’t go away. We’ll be back in a few moments. It’ll be the fourth quarter of basketball coming up next. and a worthy candidate tonight as we take a look at our State Farm assist of the game. You talk about painting a magnificent picture with that, Don. Just a great decision and a perfect delivery. A lot of times a spectacular pass is more impressive than a spectacular shot. This is one of those times. And with three quarters behind us, we’ll start the fourth in what is still anybody’s ball game. on the court for Golden State to start the fourth. Moody is out there with Trace Jackson Davis. Then there’s Seth Curry. Then there’s Stephen Curry. And it’s post in at the five spot. Drills it from deep. Markdonovich has gotten himself on the board with a three there. This is Bdonovich’s game. Catch, shoot, score. Here’s Curry. Curry at the rim. And this is just typical of him. always making an impact at crucial moments in the game and his team needs every bit of his production if they want to pull this one out. It is neck and neck here in the final period. Up top, Harden. He’s covered by Curry. The drive by Harden. He’s not going to beat you with speed. Harden uses his footwork and his strength to create separation on his way to the rim. Curry against Harden outside. Curry. Jackson Davis is screen. Golden State with a rebound. Pass to Curry. Puts up a three. Sinks the tray. Curry. Curry’s got 39. On a night like tonight, Steph Curry is mustwatch basketball. He can score from anywhere. Harden with a screen on Curry. Here’s Dunn. He shoots and the Clippers again with a bucket. They’re winning the battle down low by imposing their will pass to post. Now here’s Curry defended by Dunn to the inside. Curry. That’s good. Curry’s got 41. Hey, he’s doing everything he can to keep them afloat. Don outside on the wing. Harden and Harden gets the double team. Done. The pass to Bdonovich offline with a three. And they’re up right now, but it hasn’t been because of him. He’s really struggled on offense. pass to post. Good work defensively by Lopez. And so it’s Beal who brings up the ball for the Clippers. They lead by four. Here’s Postounded by Beal. There’s the drive and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. And Grant, the Clippers have strung together 13 straight winning seasons. But at the same time, it feels like they’ve left a lot on the table. Yeah, with all their star power over that time, they’ve made it past the second round of the playoffs only once, and that fan base is restless. And he can’t get the first one. And some changes here for the Warriors. Santos comes in for Jackson Davis. And it’s Brandon Pajimsky in for Curry. [Applause] and the second free throw is good. Now be [Music] third minute of action now gone here in the fourth and he drops it in from the low post. His bounce isn’t quite what it used to be, but Be still has plenty of burst to finish inside. Here’s Curry. The shot no good. Done outside. Pass to Beiel. 18 ft out. Out of bounds. The Clippers will keep possession. Here’s a look at what’s coming up for the Golden State Warriors. On Saturday, they’ll be playing against Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns. And then on Monday, they’ll be matching up against Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers. And for that game against the 76ers, you’d be hardressed to find a more even pairing in the league. That one promises to be a really closely fought battle. And Los Angeles making a change here. Collins checked in. Warriors trail by five outside. Pass to Curry. Six to shoot and he buries that one back rim and in. Curry’s got 43 points. His accuracy is on another level this quarter. Really high quality shooting. It’s be on the wing. Lopez. The screen on Curry. Harden from outside and once again off the mark by Los Angeles. The Warriors have got four of eight shots to drop here in this final quarter. Los Angeles leading by three. [Applause] Be the pass to Harden. In transition, here come the Warriors. Flushes it down to finish the break. Got to give them credit for jumping on the ball and making the most at the other end. Boy, inexcusable at this point of the game. They got to be more composed in these moments. An important two point not just on the scoreboard, but also here a little bit of momentum. connects from downtown. He knocked one deep ball in the first half, but you start to get the feeling he’s finding his rhythm out there now. Moody passes to Curry. The Clippers grab the miss. I’m trying to think of the last time I saw him miss a shot like that. It’s It’s been a while. Done. Left side. Shot clock at five. Lopez the screen. That three’s off the mark. Warriors trail by four. Here’s Post. Pass to Curry. Moody from outside. Rebound by the Clippers. Collins has got his seventh rebound of the game in that last one. Done. The pass to Harden. Collins with a screen on Curry. Collins outside. No good on the three. And just terrible defense. I don’t know how he missed that shot. Stolen by Collins outside. Harden shoots off the step back. The rebound by Moody. Moody’s got six rebounds here tonight. Drive by Curry. Oh, Curry muscles it in. Well, they’re still losing, but it’s not because of him. He’s been lights out this quarter. Beal outside. [Music] [Applause] Back to Harden. [Music] [Applause] So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. It’s on Stephen Curry. Defense should expect this from Harden. He rarely misses a chance to draw a shooting foul. All right, guys. Let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown for the Clippers. Look, they’re getting good looks inside. It’s been a point of emphasis all night long, but I love this hard-nosed attitude of this team. They’re also finding a lot of points tonight off of transition play, running the floor and using the fast break to beat the defense. That’s good from Harden. Remember when people were questioning whether the Warriors were truly a dynasty, RJ? I do. And that was erased for good with that championship run in 2022. I still think that that is Steph’s most important championship. That title cemented them as one of the all-time great teams of the last 50 years. Harden hits them both. If they keep hitting free throws at this clip, it’ll help them seal the deal. And so it’s Green who brings up the ball for Golden State. Butler right to the heart putting his body to work in the paint. Butler using his athletic skills to get it done. The Clippers in the lead. Collins a screen releases. Shot is off. No clue how he misfired on that shot. You don’t see that from him very often. Conson outside. [Applause] left side green and stolen by Leonard from about 19 and it’s good off the back of the rim and in. Leonard’s got 15 points here in the second half. Warriors trail by four. Outside Curry. Green with a screen on Harden. And here’s Curry for three. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Leonard’s got his seventh rebound here tonight. To the middle. Curry with a steal. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. And the shot’s good. Transition basketball. The most reliable way to generate easy looks. Yeah, when you hustle on the break like he does, good things tend to happen. Collins outside. He’s got a clear path. Curry shot is off. Ooh, he really came close to leveling the score there. You love the intensity out there right now. Close game. Both teams leaving it all out there. Pass to Conetton down low. Here’s Pajinski and that misses. That would have put him up. Leonard with the ball. Now Pajinsky defending. Shot by Leonard. No good. The Warriors trailing to the paint to tie it up and it’s good on the layup. Their defense just falls apart once the ball goes inside. And for the Clippers, they’re shooting just 38% here in the fourth. Out to the right wing. Be outside. Outside Harden pass to Zubox. Now Leonard. The three is up. Shot clock at six. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got nine rebounds in the game. Boy, he’s getting it done. The battle of the boards has been something to watch. Shots good by Conetan. That’s 10 straight points they’ve given up in the painted area. Huh. And timeout called by Tailoo. He’s decided it’s time to clarify the situation, leaving little room for error. [Music] It’s time for death. You know when you see yourself on the big screen, then you know what to do. Let’s see. [Applause] [Music] [Music] You are on the victory. [Music] Done. He’s checked in for Bradley Beal. And let’s send it over to Ally Leforce. Guys, at the last break, I listened to Tyron Lou address the team. He laid into the team about being overaggressive. He said, quote, “You’re letting them get to the line as much as they want. We’ve got to dial back some of the physicality because it’s getting us in trouble, guys. Let’s see if they can ease up here.” And Ally, thanks. [Applause] Golden State on D. Pass to Harden. Zubox with a screen on Curry. Harden from outside. Warriors with the rebound. The defense just giving him the easy look there. He’s not going to miss that. Fires the three. Collins with the rebound. The Clippers trail now. Here’s Dun. Here’s Zubox. And it’s slammed in by Zubox. And when the game is this close, you have to go all out. He certainly understands his role, huh? When the shot goes up, just crashes the offensive glass. He’s just giving them everything he has. It’s his teammates appreciate and enjoy playing with him. Just five on the clock. Back to Green and it’s rejected. Tipped. Done. Outside. Inside. Leonard up top. Shoots over Cington. Leonard can’t get it to go. Golden State has gone just one of six from downtown in this final quarter. Curry passes to Green. Oh, look at Green inside. Over his career, Green has been in so many huge playoff games, so he’s used to the pressure moments. Cton against Leonard. Shoots over Cton. The offensive rebound. Second shot opportunity. Leonard can’t get it to go. Whatever rhythm he had last quarter, it has left his body. He is having a hard time finding B. Curry with it. Picked up by Collins. Even though he’s undersized, he’s making an impact on the glass. Looking fearless right now. Harden pass to Leonard. 40 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. [Applause] Harden against Curry. Yes. And the foul. It’s on Stephen Curry. It’s been great to see guys who don’t back down under pressure. They knew what they needed here and was determined to deliver. Heat. Heat. [Applause] big. Oh, he knocks down the clutch free throw. Tight game. He is exactly who you wanted at the line. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. Great time to call his guys into the huddle at a very tense moment in this game. All right, guys. How do you see him managing the next possession with the time left? I think they’ve got to be looking for a quick shot here. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] 32 seconds left in the fourth quarter and Steve Kerr calls timeout here. The pressure is on and he’s got a plan to share with his guys. Obviously, not a lot of time to work with. What do you guys think we’re going to see? It’s always interesting to see what play a coach has saved for a situation like this. If they’ve got a shorefire quick bucket play, uh, let’s just say now’s the time to use it. Now 8 seconds separating the two clocks. Green finds Curry. Cash once again. Curry. This man has made a living out of big shots like this one. And Ty Louu has called a timeout. Critical moment here. He’s not taken any chances. All right. One of the considerations at this late juncture. It’s always interesting to see what play a coach has saved for a situation like this. If they’ve got a shorefire quick play, uh, let’s just say now’s the time to use it. 24 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter. Three-pointer Harden gets rebounded by Golden State. And as long as he keeps missing from deep, the D will keep letting him fire away. He’s just off from range right now. And a smart choice right there. I mean, you can’t allow them to just drain the clock. We got to see that one again. That block was all out effort. Oh my. Oh my. And that was textful defense positioning himself well to send it back. Boy, you love how guys are making plays for one another here. Yeah, just a balanced attack. A total team effort. [Applause] [Applause] He drops the first one and that’ll put him up two. [Applause] Patty hits both free throws here and it’s a three-point game. Couldn’t have asked for anything better there. Only a three can tie it now. Harden the pass to Collins. He’s off from three. And they foul intentionally. That’s what they have to do at this point. Yeah. And there’s no question they have to foul. Now, I’m sure they would have preferred to avoid it. [Applause] First free throw is good and that gives him a four-point cushion. [Applause] And the second free throw, no good. Tough break there. [Applause] And so the big win by Golden State in a tight game. They played the villain tonight and they played it well. Yes, they did. You know, you have two choices. You can either succumb to the hostility in this arena or you can feed off of it and use it as motivation. They did the latter. All right, Alli’s ready to go. She’s courtside. Hey, Ally. All right, Jimmy. As you prepared for this one, what was the focus? uh just how hard we had to play home or away. I think we did that. We stayed together um through their runs, through our runs, and um that was quality and that’s getting us done. Four great quarters of work. Congrats on the win. All right, Ally. Thank you. Thank you for joining us. That’ll do it for now. For Grant Hill, Richard Jefferson, and Ally Leforce, this is Brian Anderson. Thanks for watching the NBA presented by
