The NBA Will Never Expand
Adam Silver has been edging us for years about a possible league expansion to cities like Seattle or Las Vegas, but it’s starting to feel like this will never happen. Mainly because during this year’s board of governors meeting, the only real word we got about the league expanding was just, yeah, I guess we can kind of look into it a bit more. I just feel bad for NBA fans that live in Seattle. But why is the NBA taking so long to actually commit to this expansion and build out the league to new cities? Well, the answer is pretty obvious. It’s money. It’s always about money. With Adam saying himself, when you add new teams to the league, it dilutes the economics of the league, which isn’t something they want to do after signing a $76 billion media rights deal and having multiple franchises sell for billions of dollars. But another theory that a lot of people have as to why the league hasn’t expanded, specifically to Las Vegas, is the fact that LeBron hasn’t retired yet. I mean, there’s no better way to promote a new franchise than having the greatest player of all time as the owner. And since LeBron has made it very clear he wants to own a team, they could very well be waiting for him to retire so he can spearhead a new franchise.

Stop glazing lebron and saying he is the goat it is easy MJ
We know what happened last time one of if not the greatest players of all time purchased a team in the expansion draft. So I think I’m good off LeBron running a team😂😂
Pumpfaked us like 6 times
Seattle has the Seahawks so they have a NFL team so I don’t feel bad for them, cities like salt lake and Portland and Oklahoma City Don’t have a NFL team but have a NBA team so why doesn’t anyone feel bad for them like people seem to do with Seattle.
You knew what you were doing with that ginnie buss skit 👀
The first sentence out of context would be crazy
I never had a home team….😢
They waiting for lebron to retire
The only thing I don't understand about the diluting money point is that someone did the math on Reddit and figured out the amount of money each team would receive in even a $5M expansion fee from both teams would offset the money lost by diluting the media deal. The only thing it would effect is the NEXT media deal but thats not for another decade
Seattle should be back but it shouldn't be named sonics because that is just the thunder
Reason number 10204847492929 why I hate Adam Silver
Charlotte hornets move to Vegas

The greatest player of all time? I don’t think MJ is interested in owning a new team. 🤷♂️
Trash
We really need expansion. There’s players in the league rn riding the bench for some teams that could legit start on others. I want to see them have an opportunity

LeBron is not the goat
S tier troll by referring to LeBron as the 'greatest of all time'
The Adelsons' trading Doncic may have been the end of the expansion talk.
Here’s my 2 cents on this: I do believe the Seattle SuperSonics WILL come back to the NBA one day. Granted, Adam Silver has me a little steamed for not quite saying “Yes” to bringing the Sonics back — and I’m not even from Seattle. But he just can’t get up and say “I want the Sonics back in Seattle, because I said so.” He has to practice due diligence. But seriously — get to it, Adam!
Adam Silver is jewish, David Stern was also jewish
