Monday Moment! Kawhi Leonard is going to Giants of Africa with Masai Ujiri for this year’s festival!
Good morning, Raptor Freaks. Lexi Oats here. It is Monday morning and uh we’re doing a Monday moment and our Monday moment has not happened yet. We’re going to do it preemptively this week because later this week, Giants of Africa kicks off in Rwanda. And Messiah Jerry’s company, Giants of Africa, has been doing amazing great things for the continent of Africa in basketball related ways for years now. And even though he’s departed from the Toronto Raptors, doesn’t mean he’s not going to do Giants of Africa. It’s a very, very important program. And this year, Giants of Africa is going to be bigger and better than ever. There’s going to be more days added to the festival, more events, more stars, more everything going on. And I think the most impressive thing I heard this week about Giants of Africa was that uh former Finals MVP, Toronto Raptors champion, Spurs champion, Kawhi Leonard will be appearing at the Giants of Africa camp and uh festivities this this week coming up. This the the kickoff for the festival on the official website is 5 days, 10 hours, 48 minutes, and 30 seconds from now. Uh starting on July the 26 going till August the 2nd. Yeah. In Kaggalli, Rwanda. Yeah, it’s going to be fantastic. They’ve got uh Arya Star. Arya Star is going to be the main uh musical talent that’s going to be on but along with Afrobe artists Kiz Daniel and Tamaya. You know, there’s there’s a lot of great things going on there. Of course, we saw Messiah recently on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts and well, she’s committed to coming there and being a part of the festivities also to uh you know, be involved and talk to people and stuff like that. What I’m reading Kawhi Leonard will be doing at Giants of Africa are these things. He will be mentoring youth campers. He will help dedicate and open a brand new basketball court at St. Ignosia Nocttius School in partnership with Giants of Africa. He’ll also host a special clinic for 50 local youth at Club Rafiki in one of Kagali’s underserved districts. So yeah, Kauaii, you know, Kauaii has uh direct family lines to Africa and you know, he I don’t know how often he gets over there. I’m pretty sure he’s gone there a few times, but you know, for him, it’s probably very healthy and cleansing and nice to go over there and see, you know, where his family and his his his his uh people are from and just to be in that environment. In some ways it’s like you know I I know for me going to Estonia last year for me and getting back into ancestral homelands where uh people in my family uh came from it was very like spiritually uh uplifting. It was very much like wow I feel a a different kind of level of connection to this place. And who knows Leonard this could be therapeutic for you. Who knows? This could actually who maybe even make you healthy so you can play in the NBA this season. I don’t know. Either way, maybe that’s the stretch. But yeah, I think it’s fantastic that Kawhai’s coming. I think that in some ways it’s like Messiah pulling the trigger to get Kawhai to come shows that he still has a lot of stroke. He still has a lot of power in the NBA. and uh you know that even though Ed Rogers and Keith P dismissed Messiah for no good reason honestly doesn’t mean he’s going away doesn’t mean he doesn’t have uh stroke and the ability to have things done and get good people like Kawhi Leonard to come to Giants of Africa. So, it’s exciting this uh big event coming up in five days, you know. Um it’s, you know, if you wanted to go, well, can you get to Rwanda in five days, you could go to it yourself and take in the festivities and see the celebration of basketball, the the opportunities that they give to young people over there. There’s so many people going to be playing at this thing. I mean, seriously, this is a huge huge thing. There’s like uh 20 countries they’re going to be involved. 320 young men and women from all over uh Africa will be showing up to play in this tournament at Giants of Africa. And it it’s just a fantastic uh possibility for them to get seen, for them to get inspired, for them to uh you know, have opportunity put in front of them to, you know, who knows what’s going to happen. It could be a real catalyst to help these young people uh over there. Yeah. So on July the 26th, they’re going to do a nationwide day of community service and also it’s a women’s empowerment community event. This is a big big deal to Messiahi when it comes to giants of Africa is is the empowerment of women. There’s a lot of subjugation and bad stuff happening in the in Africa and different places towards women. Violence towards women in different ways is really really disgusting and awful and is one of the worst things in this world. And uh well Messiahi brings more awareness to the violence and the subjugation to stop it and to also uh teach young women over there that they have more power than they think that they can be powerful and strong and respected and also you know they need to be like treated right. So, I love that aspect of what Messiah does over there. He has a lot of specialty projects that are uh smaller than Giants of Africa that have to do with uh uh protecting women in Africa and and empowering women in Africa, which is fantastic. On the 27th, they’re going to do an international youth day forum and it’ll be the opening show of the ceremonies. From the 28th to the 1st, there will be the basketball camp for the youth along with the tournament. On the 31st of July, they’re gonna have a Threads of Africa fashion show. Yeah, it seems like you might need Serge Baka for that. Uh August the 1, Championship and All-Star games for uh the camps with the tournament. And then on the second, the community court unveiling with uh Kawhi Leonard, coaches clinic, and the closing concert with uh Arya Stark and all the rest. So Arya Star, it’s going to be fantastic event all around. I know it’s not likely that most of us or any of us will be going, but we’ll we’ll get to hear the news of it. And you know, fantastic work continues from Mai Jerry with Giants of Africa. It’s at least his first step post Raptors is to continue Giants of Africa and to put a lot of energy into that. Of course, we heard recently that Messiah Jiri was given $60 million, well, not given, was paid $60 million by Ed Rogers III to go away. And in some ways, it seems so stupid to me that you have a person of the talents and the esteem and the respect of Messiah Jerry, somebody who just has done so much for the Raptors brand to, you know, give him a parachute of 60 million instead of just keeping him employed and you and, you know, having him on staff. It’s ridiculous. This is very poor business, Ed Rogers III. Very, very, very poor business. Yeah, let’s check in with the comments with you guys. Kind of doing an overview on the Giants of Africa activities later this week. And I’m really am proud of Kawhi Leonard for signing on to come in and do this event with Messiah. It’s a big big deal. And uh you know, he brings a lot of uh of uh gravitas, a lot of prestige as a two-time NBA champion and the Raptors finals MVP. That’s right. Trevor’s here. Good morning, Trevor. Happy we are alive. Breathing, walking, talking, being grateful to be alive is your first blessing of the day you woke up. There you go. Once again, start with the basics, you know, uh, you know, you say your little prayer that if I die before I wake, I pray to the Lord my soul to take. Well, this Lord didn’t take your soul overnight. You’re awake and you’re still here this morning. That’s fantastic. And Monday morning, yeah, but still, you’re still here. So, count your blessings. Thank you, Trevor Jay, for your words of wisdom. I appreciate you. Uh Trevor is bringing us the news this this morning that the Charlotte Hornets were the eventual winners of the summer league championship yesterday. They got the rings. They got the ring ceremony. It’s goofy. It’s goofy. Their team was goofy, man. The Charlotte Hornets summer league team was goofy, man. The MVP of the summer league is Khan Canipple. Yeah, I don’t know what to say to that. Honestly, I don’t really know what to say to that. But yeah, they beat the Kings. I guess they were able to slow down Isaac Jones, something we were not a able to do. And well, the Charlotte Hornets are your 2025 summer league champions and they got rings. So Hornets fans, you your players got some rings all of a sudden. How does that feel? That’s that’s different for you guys. I don’t know. You guys haven’t sniffed the playoffs very much, let alone get rings. I mean, summer league rings. I don’t want to cheese on it too much because if we had won it and gotten the rings, I would have been very proud of our young Raptors. But in some ways, I my proclivity is to cheese on this Charlotte Hornets for winning these rings. Maybe I’m just a hater. Maybe I should just allow them to have their their goofy little summer league rings. You know, they did this last year and I thought it was goofy then, you know, when they gave rings to summer league. But I get it. You know, this is the way you you uh show these young players coming in. Well, you someday maybe you’ll get the real ones, the big time ones, the ones for the finals, then not for the summer league. I don’t know. Either way, Kona Nipples got a summer league championship ring and he’s the MVP. He’s the MVP. Yeah, Cal Brener, all them. Yeah. Trevor J saying Jonathan Kaminga does not want to return to the Warriors this season coming up. I’m not surprised. I mean, that guy’s a knucklehead, man. He’s been a knucklehead this whole time. the Warriors started to finally get stuff uh out of him and he’s playing pretty solid, but he doesn’t like them. And I get it why because in some ways he’s had a rocky road with them. I mean, he’s been playing with Draymond Green for Pete’s sake. That’s enough to make me want to not be on the Warriors right there. But I don’t know what’s going to happen to Jonathan. To me, he’s not an attractive player to bring to uh our team. He’s not attractive player to to me in general. I don’t know. There’s just there’s something wrong with young players. And I know that he worked hard and he’s gotten better, but there’s something wrong with young players that just have a certain kind of like weird attitude in certain ways. I don’t know. In some ways, he’s on a no-go to here for me, but uh you know, I wish you luck with that. I don’t know what’s going on with your life, Jonathan. You know, you pretty much have to come to the Warriors. I don’t know. We’ll have to see. Trevor J saying, “Remember Ted Rogers III. You cannot keep a good man down. You will always lose the battle when God comes for you. Boom goes the dynamite. Wow. Trevor Jay with some cryptic message like, you know, I would hear Samuel Jackson say in Pulp Fiction or something like that. He’s like, Ted Rogers, you just remember that. Yeah. You can’t keep him aside down. He’s going to be a badass. He’s going to do Giants of Africa. He’s going to be uh very popular, very esteemed, and very uh respected. Even if you did what you did to him recently, that doesn’t change who he is and what he does. And uh it just makes you look bad, honestly. Yeah. And when the day comes, your creator, you meet him, you’re just the same as every one of single of us otherwise. They bury they bury a pr king just like they bury a popper. It doesn’t matter. Someday you will die, Ed Rogers III, like all of us. And it won’t matter. You’ll go back to dust like all of us. So, it’s like, yeah, God will judge you then. God will judge you then, Ed Rogers. That’s what Trevor is saying. That’s what he’s saying. Talk to you’all tomorrow. Yeah, Trevor’s on the the Vegas time still. He’s still in Vegas because he has work to do. And well, he got up. He he brought his words of wisdom and now he’s going back to bed. So, I wish you a great rest, Commissioner Jones. And I hope you have a great Monday. That’s right. James is here. Good to see James. Raptor Freak James, what’s up, man? Jonathan Kaminga’s expendable. They have Jimmy Butler already. Yeah. Yeah, that’s part of it. I mean, I get that. I get that. I mean, they they’ve made some shuffles, too, around with things. They got different people coming and going. Kevon Looney is gone now. So, they brought in they’re trying to bring in Horford, but it’s not official yet. I don’t know what the hell’s going on with the free agency. It seems like it just stalled out. It’s like there’s so much free agency right at the beginning of July. it just all drops and then there’s this weird waiting out period for people like Chris Buchet, Precious Aua. The list of notable free agents that are still out there is kind of crazy honestly. There’s a clip of Rich Paul on Reddit this morning. Uh explaining the Brandon Ingram trade to Toronto. It’s very interesting. Rich Paul is basically saying that like the free agency is changing. it’s not going to be very good. And that in some ways he wanted to look out for his client Brandon Ingram by getting him out of New Orleans and getting him an extension without going into free agency because he thought he would not get as much money in the free agency market this summer. He’s probably right looking at how things have gone. So Rich is saying that, you know, getting him traded to Toronto and getting him this deal done with Bobby Webster and Messiah at that time was a good thing for Brandon because he may have gotten less money this summer if he had actually tested the free agency market. That’s what Rich Paul is saying himself as his agent that it’s like we wanted to do the extension with Toronto and get this locked down because Brandon is making 40 million a year and he probably wouldn’t make that if he was in free agency this summer. So, in some ways, the Raptors wanted to lock down a top tier talent, and his contract’s going to look good either way. Don’t misconstrue what Rich Paul’s saying, Raptors fans. He’s just saying that to be the best agent for his client. He advised him to get traded, then get an extension with another team, then test the free agency market this summer. The Raptors were a willing buyer. It’s a calculation and some are putting the it as one of the last moves that Messiah did while he was in charge of the Raptors that he told them, “Yeah, let’s go ahead and get Brandon. It’s his calculation that he’ll be healthy and he’s going to be a badass and he’s going to be a grand slam home run for the Raptors.” So, it’s an interesting clip. Rich Paul putting out all these clips these days talking about his clients and giving us the other side of the the screen, the the what the Wizard of Oz is doing. Very interesting. Uh, Jussi’s here. Good to see you, Jussi. Good morning, Raptors gang. Hope y’all stay blessed the rest of the summer and year. Yeah, thank you, Jussi. Back at you, too. Yeah, let me go and uh start doing some of my tabs here since we’re here. Yeah, crazy game. Hornets beating the Kings. Yeah, five-point victory. Uh, yeah, it was a really Canipple is weird. Caniple was the leading scoreer for them with uh 21 points on eight of 21 shooting. Just in some ways I’m not that impressed with that. Yeah, I don’t know, man. I don’t know. This seems so anticlimactic that the Hornets won the summer league championship. I mean, Isaac Jones was a beast still. He got 24 points and 11 rebounds on 10 of 17 shooting, but there was enough of a kind of holding him down enough just to to win the game for the Hornets. It’s kind of a goofy game, man. Honestly, it is what it is. It is what it is. There’s uh also news out here that’s saying that Valenunis is excited to be a Nugget executive says no concerns that Jonas Valunis will not report to the team is what uh the Nuggets front office is saying. The vice president of basketball operations Ben Tenzer attempting to tamp down any conjecture over Valenunis’s arrival during a news conference that was set up to in introduce Cam Johnson. There’s been nothing but healthy conversations in terms of him honoring his contract and his he’s excited to be a Nugget. So, no concerns that Valunis might not be with the Nuggets to start the season. No concerns is what Tenzer saying. Yeah, I don’t know. That’s hearsay if it comes from your mouth. Until I hear it from Yonas’s mouth, I won’t totally believe it. But yeah, of course you’re going to say that in some ways, you know, they there’s a lot of like I have a All right, I could do this. I’mma win this to [ __ ] Like I’ve said on this channel very openly, part of the reason why Jonas Funus may not want to play in for Denver is because of the United States polit politics right now is that Trump America MAGA is really gross. It’s like being in Nazi Germany and uh you know Yonas at the end of his career almost. Why would he want to hang out and see the atrocities of Trump’s America over the next year or so? I think that on the down low that’s why he wants to leave. But the press and ESPN and the Denver Nuggets in some ways they don’t they’re it’s all about image. They don’t want to put this out publicly that this is why he does not want to play for them. And in some ways they want to put a full front to say no he does want to play for us because in some ways it’s also State Department [ __ ] And we can’t have a high-profile NBA player saying that they don’t want to play in the United States because of mega uh Nazi America. You know what I’m saying? Like they they don’t want to put this on blast. And little they know there’s so many different people boycotting the United States right now. So many musical artists, so many different kind of performers in different kind of respects, comedians, musicians. They are not going to do the United States for tour for the rest of the year. They are not putting any American dates. They’re coming to Canada. They’re going across Europe. They’re going everywhere else except for the United States. And that on the download is not being talked about much because the mainstream media does not want to talk about the dumpster fire that the United States is becoming more and more. So in in a way the Yonas Valunis situation is being spun in certain ways to cover it up. Honestly, he’s going to show up because they may they’re strongarmming him to show up. He’s not really wanting to. Let’s just put it that way. He’ll probably show up. He’ll probably play for the Nuggets. But once again, realize in some ways this is an information war to try and not make the US look so bad. And I wish Jonas would just come right out and say exactly why he doesn’t want to play for the Nuggets. It’s because America is burning down its democracy right in front of all of our eyes. And I wish people would understand this. This is exactly why people people don’t want to believe that. Well, understand it from another Baltic guy like Jonas Valunis. This is an Estonian guy. We don’t like fascism in the Baltics and Lithuanians, Estonians, Latians. We are not cool with the stuff that’s going on in the United States right now. And in some ways, that’s the issue. That’s the issue right there. They don’t know it. They don’t even want to talk about it. Isaac Campbell’s here. Have a solid week, good people. Messiah your day. I like that you made him a verb. Let’s Messiah our day. Remember, we would used to say stuff like rapturize your day or rapture your day like Nabatia would. Well, now we’re gonna say Messiah Day because uh Isaac Campbell of Ottawa has come in here and dropped that on us. I was waiting for Lint Nins to change the the emoticons for this channel. He’s supposed to do that very soon. So, Nins, I hopefully you will get to that. That’s right. All right, let’s go ahead and do the straight goods on Canadian goods. Guys, it’s the summertime and I talked about paint this weekend. Home improvement projects are happening this summer. This is the time to do it. And well, you know what? You need to buy hand tools. You got to get power tools to do a lot of the chopping in the wood and stuff. Did you know you can support Canada by buying certain power tools and hand tools? Yeah. Yeah. The number one company in Canada is 100% Canadian-owned, manufactured, and all domestic sourcing from Canada. Also, one of the only fully Canadian hand tool makers in Canada is Gray Tools. Gray with an A. Yeah. If you can buy gray tools, that is a 10 out of 10 on the Canada list as far as 10 out of 10. A top-notch 100% funded and everything for Canada. Everything you buy a great hand tool, you’re supporting Canada through and through. So, I say if you are going to buy any new hand tools, try and find Gray. They’re 100% Canadian company and you’ll be keeping it in our economy. Another company that’s pretty good out of of uh Canada is uh Veraritoss Tools. Veritoss Tools uh out of Lee Valley Tools is another good hand tools company. But yeah, there’s not a whole lot of really really good uh hand tool companies. I mean, a lot of the big companies are not good. Seriously, I look at this list and I see DeWalt and uh you know, certain companies just like a two out of 10 on the list. They’re not good for uh supporting Canada. You know, Craftsman two out of 10. You know, Black & Decker, two out of 10. You know, the we can if you really want to put your money where your mouth is, support Canada and buy Gray Tools is what I’m saying today. So, if you do need to buy some new hand tools or power tools, gray tools and Veritas are the two of the best. There’s two others that are pretty okay. Frank tools are pretty good. They’re out by Canadian Tire. The products are kind of made in China, but it is a Canadian company and uh they’re sold at Canadian Tire. Frank Genius Tools also out of Langley, BC is a Canadian company that’s Canadian-owned, but most of the products are made in Taiwan. So, if you really want something good that’s made here and sold here, Gray Tools, Veritus Tools, but Frank and Genius Tools are not bad. Also, if you Yeah, those are the best ones right there for the straight goods on Canadian tools. There you go. Tools. Tools. You need tools to build stuff, right? You need the tools. Yeah. Let’s see. Uh, let’s do the Instagram stories. We’re just going to move on through everything. Emanuel Quickley’s putting on blast the youngsters that played at Summer League. Jamal, Jacobe, and Jonathan. Yeah, I love that, man. He love He’s reposted the Jacob’s post from summer league at the end there. Also, uh, Emanuel’s been playing COD yesterday. And let’s see his stats. He got 6,530 points. He had an object score of 250. He had two captures and he is a level one. So, yeah, he’s saying he’s the best, but once again on his his leaderboard, he’s not the best on the leaderboard, but he’s the greatest COD player ever, apparently. I love his confidence. That’s what I like. Toronto Tempo bringing in the sight cinematically of the uh WNBA All-Star weekend. Some pretty cool stuff there for sure. Uh let’s see who else we got. Andrew Jones coaching all Shamshay in a picture on his Instagram pictures. And also he’s got his daughter Ava Be Hoopin. I’m telling you, Ava is going to be a WNBA player. She has got footwork and really good shot like hands like re already and she’s really running some advanced level drills and she’s doing things just so incredible. I mean seriously like even just since I started watching this Instagram of Ava Jones, she’s gotten so much better like just in two or three months. It’s insane. It’s insane. Ava Jones might need to be in the WNBA next year on the rate she’s going right now. Geez, she’s only like she look like she’s like 13 or something. She’s not very old. Jacobe Walter with a picture of him and AJ Lost and Elijah Martin at the summer league in action wearing the white Raptors jerseys like that. Sandre Mamu has an interesting post today. Sandro has posted a picture of a bucket and a sponge with water in it. He said, “If you’ve never had to shower like this, we’ll never truly understand each other.” I mean that’s that’s that’s true man. Some people you know in Europe and and other places have have had to shower out of buckets in different ways. You know if you man you got to understand how lavish some people have it in life compared to other people in other places around the world. Seriously. Seriously. You got to count your blessings like Trevor Jay tells us to every morning. That’s right. Elijah Martin putting on blast his teammate from Florida Gator uh Clayton Walter Clayton putting up a dunk and dunking it down. He’s playing uh shot a the sweetest taboo which is good song selection. Elijah Martin I I will judge you guys on your song selection. If you gonna get a throwback like shot a woo Elijah Martin, you’re getting some points on that one. Savannah Hamilton and the ladies are out and about at WNBA weekend. They’re just having a blast. They got a girl pack and they are just vibious and having their best life. Seriously, they got a lot of good things going on. A lot of good vibes this weekend. That seems like WNBA uh All-Star weekend was a was a whole thing, man. Was a thing, man. Seriously. There they are. Uh Savannah’s putting on blast the shirts that they wore before the game. Pay us what you owe us. You know, I’ve heard that they’re going to um they’re going to be at the collective bargaining table before the end of this year and, you know, hopefully the owners can be reasonable and give the the women of the WNBA their proper share of the profits. I’m all about that. I’m all about what they’re saying. I just thought that maybe uh you know, you got new fans, you don’t want to like kind of seem weird towards you know, this is the thing I should say. You know, this always with the labor struggles with players versus owners. The players are right. Public, just realize that the players are right. It’s not the owners are ever right. They’ve never been right ever once in any labor dispute. Let me just put it that way. So, u uh fans, don’t fall for media [ __ ] Don’t fall for the owner’s [ __ ] Just understand the women of the WNBA need to get paid more fairly. And that’s just the damn truth. And in some ways, their their their statement, they licensed that statement. Uh they’re they’re speaking for all women in all workforces also. Seriously. Seriously. So Savannah looks awesome at the game meeting uh all kinds of fun people. Infamous Casey being one of them at Courtzside. Seakum’s riding around in a car. He’s wondering if y’all know this banger. It’s a song and he it’s got some parts in it. It’s actually pretty jamming. Honestly, it is a banger. And uh Seakum’s just he’s so happy. He’s like grooving to it and he’s just like, “Yeah, do you know this song? The drums. This is such a good song. Jay Nathan showing off his serious players only shoes. Looking pretty good there. Uh let’s see who else we got. Terresa Rash with the Toronto Tempo dream team at WNBA All-Star Weekend. Her whole entire uh team so far for the Toronto Tempo front office. All went together to the All-Star weekend. And there they are as a group. There’s like I don’t know, there’s maybe like eight of them. There’s not a whole lot of them that are working for Toronto Tempo so far. Yeah. The dream team is on the ground and at the WNBA All-Star weekend. Pretty cool. Let’s see. We got Eugino Maroy who’s uh with some Raptors fans and it’s like athletes and artists and leaders. Uh Kasma and there’s a kid with a Raptor shirt. I like that. I like that. Eugene smiling big. It’s good stuff. Good stuff. He’s also got Kevin Gates saying on uh podcast saying that uh the best way to gain respect is to distance yourself. Distance yourself. Yeah, that’s pretty good advice. I mean, I’ve done that. AJ Lawson with a nice lone picture of him walking off the court on summer league, it’s over. And there he is with G Herbo playing uh from the games. Also, Vinbagnani’s daughter is driving them to their next destination on their vacation after summer league. They’re actually just rented a car and they’re driving out of Vegas and they’re going to bar style. So yeah, that’s pretty cool that like Jordan Bagnani is driving her parents around in the desert. There’s your Instagram stories for the Raptors today. Yeah, all kinds of interesting stuff. Emanuel says he’s the greatest Call of Duty player ever. I don’t know. Your stats don’t speak it. Monique is here. Great to see the super fan. Monnique Lawrence is joined me in the chat this morning for a Monday Messiah moment. Uh good morning Raptor Freak crew. I don’t know about you all, but I’m keeping an eye on the Giants of Africa Instagram account. Love the Kawawaii news, etc. It’s big time, isn’t it, Mo? Uh, I appreciate Kawhi Leonard. You know, he may have made a poor decision to go to Clippers with Uncle Dennis to go home where he probably left a championship or two on the table, but you know, there’s no hard feelings. Messiah’s like, “Yeah, you know what? Can you come to Africa?” And he’s like, Kawhai’s like, “Yeah, let’s go.” And he’s coming to go to the camp and be there for the kids. and uh you know mentor and also dedicate a new basketball court. That’s something that Giants of Africa is all about is making new basketball courts in different places that like they have them in Canada. They have them all over the place. Giants of Africa courts and well they have a bunch of them in Africa too. And Kawaii’s going to dedicate his own special Giants of Africa court when he gets over there. That’s part of the his duties when he goes. That’s one of the things he’s doing. Yeah. Good to see you, Mo. I miss you. Uh uh and I hope you’re doing very very very well. That’s right. Let’s see. Raptors Reddit. Let’s check out what they’re talking about this morning. That’s where the Rich Paul uh comment was. Yeah. Let’s see there. Oh, that’s us time. Yeah, Rich Paul talking about Brandon Ingram on Reddit there. Coach Wade saying [ __ ] trash, [ __ ] They’ve got a clip of Coach Wade po pointing to all the refs from the last game against Sacramento and he’s calling them [ __ ] trash, and [ __ ] the three refs from the Sacramento King. I mean, game. Yeah, that I get it. I get it. Yeah. Uh, okay. Let’s see. Um, Raptors coverage getting cut down by MLSSC doesn’t get talked about enough. All right. This is, uh, Raptors Redditor saying, “Feels like the Raptors own coverage on themselves is so non-existent compared to what used to be in the prime of open gym and all that. They didn’t even come sum summer league at all on their official YouTube channel. The content is almost non-existent now compared to how it used to be. Really sucks because I miss connecting to the players in profound ways through the insider coverage of the team. That’s a rant. I don’t know this is totally true. I mean, I know there has been some cut down that that’s true, but I don’t think it’s non-existent. You know, listen, we’re in the offseason and in some ways, you know, the the summer league coverage comes from different places. We’ve got supplemented by Hello and welcome. very very deep coverage on summer summer league this year by hello and welcome. The Raptors official ad men this summer is really doing a special series of giving us halfhour content on very important Raptors games in history. They recently put out a a 25minute clip of Danielle Marshall’s three-point record game which was absolutely fun to watch. They’ve also put out Terrence Ross’s 51point game. They put out uh the Damon Starter versus Chicago Bulls game from the first year. They they you know they’re just doing things different. They’re shifting and yeah, there is going to be some changes with Rogers as the owners and this is something that all Raptor fans need to be sensitive to to and and and taking stock of now. This guy’s already seeing it. He’s like, “Wow, they’re not doing anything anymore.” He may be right, but we’ll hold them to it and in some ways we’ll get it. I’m really worried they’re going to consolidate a lot of Raptors uh stuff with the Leafs and the Jays more. Now, that was something that happened in MLSSE for a long time up until Tim Lewiki showed up and he separated them and Messiah was able to build we the North and the branding around our team was separate from the Leafs. Well, the days of Richard Petty, we were lumped in with everything with the Leafs and and there’s already some signs showing that this is going to happen more often now that Rogers has the Thanos stones and he’s uh with the sports franchise. He does not have the Tempo Stone, though. That’s right. So, we’ll just have to see. We just have to see. Um let’s see. Um let’s see. Somebody else has written here, “Why can’t the Raptors sign team friendly deals when it comes to contract negotiations?” I don’t know what you mean by that. I feel like there’s team friendly deals that are done for us by different people all the time. I would say the Yaka Purle deal is team friendly. I would say that uh you know in some ways the Brandon Ingram trade is going to look team friendly over time. Watch. So I don’t know even Emanuel’s deal that everybody’s criticizing when Emanuel makes the jump that he’s going to his deal is going to look really team friendly too. So it’s all a matter of perspective. We’ve got to understand the NBA landscape with the salary cap changes very fast. And uh when you look at number totals, they change really quickly over just a couple years. So in some ways it’s like the Raptors may sign deals that look bad in the beginning, but over time they age really well. That is something that has been done the whole Messiah Eugi era and hopefully will continue in the post Messiah era. So that’s what I say on that. Yeah, a couple good questions on Reddit today, but I would just say, you know, just just uh chill out on that. Don’t worry about that so much. That’s right. Seymour saying Conanipple MVP of summer league. That’s kind of a joke, isn’t it? It’s kind of a joke, man. It’s kind of anticlimactic. Really? This is the best. I mean, I don’t even see that team. They didn’t even have Brandon Miller playing on that team. Jaylen Sims from last year, uh, and then a bunch of the rookies. I I don’t know what the hell were the Hornets all about to do this. Seriously, they went perfect. Six and0. There are the summer league champions. This weird, man. Coolcat is here. Good morning, Rapid Free crew. Happy Monday. Happy Monday to you, Coach Coolcat. Hope you’re doing great start this week. And so is Trucker Cass is here. Good morning, everyone. Good morning to you, Trucker Cass. Hope you’re having a fantastic morning so far. Also, uh yeah, there’s just um a couple more things we should do here and maybe I’ll get out of here early. Uh let’s see. Uh happy birthday to Jason Thompson. onetime Raptor Jason Thompson is turning uh 39 today I believe 39. So yeah, he’s 39 years old. So happy birthday Jason Thompson. If you remember Jason Thompson, he was like in this period between uh around the bench mob before the championship, I believe. I think that’s right. I think that’s right. I think that’s right. All right, let’s see. Let’s do the Instagram. Uh let’s do the classic card. I know we’re going to get done quick today, guys. It’s going to be a quick one today and I’m okay with that. All right, this is a fun one. Let’s see who knows who this guy is. Uh, first person to write the full name answer will get the card. Uh, this is a cool skybox card. It’s kind of funny because this guy was kind of an extraordinary NBA player. He’s somebody that didn’t look like the normal NBA player for sure. So, anybody wants to get the classic car of the day, it’s up right now. And full name answer will get you the points. Joe Klene. That’s a good guess. Seymour. This guy’s shorter than Joe Klein. Joe Klein did play for the Phoenix Suns, but this is not Joe Klein. This guy’s more of a forward than Joe Klein. Uh Joe Klein’s a straightup center. Let me see if I can show you the back of the card. That might give you a bit even better choice there. There’s the back of the car wearing the old school son’s warm-up. You know who is that? You know, this guy looks like he gave his shirt to the gorilla after he was done. The Phoenix gorilla wearing a shirt like that now. Yeah, Tom Chambers. No, that’s not it. There we go. Smooth brown man’s got It’s Ed Neely. Ed Neely is a bluecollar player that looks like a bluecollar guy. That’s what you could call Ed Neely. A bluecollar player that looks like a bluecollar guy. So Ed Neie is there. That’s a that’s a tougher card. So I’m going to give a 100 points to smooth for the classic car of the day. Ed Neely of the old uh Suns is the card of the day. 100 points for Reggie today on the classic car. Boom goes the dynamite. Tomorrow guys, we’re going to do trivia. So, be ready to come in with your trivia heads ready for trivia questions tomorrow 9:30 a.m. Raptor Freak Tuesday trivia is gonna be on. Yeah, Ed Neely is the card. Never heard of Ed Neely. Yeah. I mean, he was fun, man. He was an interesting player. Like I said, he was kind of a Chuck Hayes. He was a big big dude who was short who could play a little bit of center. Yeah. Yeah. The back of the card got it for uh for um uh Reggie. He saw that back part of the card and he’s like that looks like Ed Neely. There’s a little Ed in the in the corner there. Ed. Yeah, he looks kind of like John Paxton. Well, in some ways this man, like if you look at his height, 6’7″, 240 lbs. That’s not a guard like John Paxton. John Paxton was 6′ three or 6’2 and maybe 210bs. This guy way bigger, way bigger guy. This guy was built like Barkley and he battled Barkley himself. He did. He did. Battle Barkley. Yeah. Fierce here. Good morning, fam. And happy Monday. Just joined the stream. Uh oh, stream almost done. Oops. Yeah, I just don’t have a whole lot to go on today. It’s you know, we can do a quick one and get done. I have no problem with that. In some ways, it’s kind of uh this happens sometimes. Kareem thought it was Alvin Adams. That’s interesting. That’s an old school name for sure. Alvin Adams. Uh yeah, let’s let’s keep going. Um what do we have left? I gotta check real quick. We’re talking about Giants of Africa today in Kawaii and how he’s going to be there and yeah, they’re going to have a big huge event for, you know, over a week this time. That’s the thing that they they are, you know, they made it more days, more people. It’s bigger and better. And, you know, Messiah’s got 60 million from Ed Rogers. In some ways, he can help fund some of this. So, that’s good. Yeah. Hit the like button, fam. Thank you, Fierce. I appreciate that. Uh, yeah. Let’s just get out of here, guys. If you guys have fantasy, WNBA fantasy, get them ready for tomorrow. The the league will start back up post all-star break tomorrow. And we’re continuing with the the matchups we had just before the All-Star break. And it looks like currently uh James is beating MK, which is good. James, keep going. That’d be real feather in your cap if you can beat the champ. He’s having a hard year this year. MK so far. Coolcat is beating JP. Uh Fiercy is winning against Kareem. Logical Raptors fanatic is losing to trucker Cavs and I am beating Race Mode Daily in my matchup also. Those are the update on the WNBA Fantasy League. We’ve got well getting back to it tomorrow. So, make sure you set your uh your lineups for tomorrow. Seymour saying Kawawaii wishing he could turn the clock back on his his decision. Yeah, I wonder if he does think about that. You know, in his post playing his post career, like when he’s after he’s done playing, he may talk about this. Who knows? Maybe not. He’s such a quiet, weird, reclusive person that we may never know. It may just be he he deals with those feelings and those thoughts deep inside. He never expresses them. Then maybe therapeutic for him to express them at some point. Be like the guy you got traded for, Demar, and go talk to someone Kawhi Leonard. Tell them that you wish you hadn’t asked to go to LA. You just shouldn’t have just stayed in Toronto. That’s what you should say. I mean, we know McGrady is very open about his regrets and leaving Toronto. There’s other players that have regretted leaving Toronto the way they did. Kawhi Leonard, well, will you ever be one day one of those that publicly says that they regret leaving Toronto because they left the championship on the table? Because you did, honestly, in this in this uh the bubble, we would have probably gone all the way if you’d stuck around and played for us the second year afterwards. Yeah. Yeah. Mon’nique is saying, “You missed my comment.” What comment is that, Mo? Let me see. Um, it’s so slow. I can’t believe I missed any comment. Oh, she’s saying they recently did a court in Hamilton, I think. Not sure. Giants Africa. I think it was in Edmonton. They did one in Edmonton. Like over there. Yeah, they they do them all over. Like there may have one in Hamilton, too. I don’t know. But I remember the last one was in Edmonton. That was last summer, wasn’t it? I believe. I think that’s when it was. Yeah. Let’s see. Um, G’s here. Good job, Messiah and Kawaii. Have a great day, everyone. Thank you, G. The first ever winner of the Saboran Cup, the Raptor Freak trivia trophy. G’s name is on there. That’s right. And Seymour saying, “One year ago, Norm made fun of PG-13. Now Norm is the guy out. Clippers organization is cold. Calculated.” Well, Pat Paul’s been out, too. You know, in some ways, like I hate how the Clippers, some people are disrespecting Norman on his way out. They’re trying to All right, this is what they’re saying. And this is just Clippers Nation trying to use their propaganda to feel good. They’re saying that uh this is a great move to switch Norman out to Miami because they can get Bradley Beal and another player for the same price as Norman. And they’re also saying that uh they want Bradley more than Norman because he’s younger than Norman. They don’t understand there’s a difference and the difference is the grind. Bradley Beal ain’t understanding no grind. I’m sorry. That man’s washed for winning. That man in some ways has made money and just done what he does, the NBA lifestyle. But he ain’t the Rosen Code. He ain’t trying. He’ll fit in real nice in the Clippers. He’ll be the latest guy that’ll be a waste of time like James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Why Leonard, Paul George, the list of these guys that came through there, they’re washed and well, that’ll just be the latest collection. Anybody in Clipper land that’s getting overly excited about Bradley Beal being on their team and y’all being upgraded, you’re crazy. You’re stupid. First of all, y’all be hurt all year. You know that. And uh he’s not better than Norman. That’s not an improvement. I will stand on this. Norman Pal would be better off on your team than Bradley Beal. I’m sorry. You can’t come to me, Clippers Nation, and tell me that y’all upgraded by getting Bradley Beal over Norman Pal. You did not. You did not. And you’ll find that out this year. You will find that out this year because you know what? Norman shows up. Norman plays. Norman produces. Norman had an all-star year last year. And just because he’s not a name like an anointed name, I say this right now, Norman Pal is a better NBA player right now currently than Bradley Beal is. Bradley Beal is gonna show up. He’s going to be halfass. He’ll be hurt most of the season and he’s not going to be dependable. When things are the shit’s on the hitting the fan and the the game’s on the line, Norman Powell is more likely to be playoff Powell kind of stuff. Bradley Beal is more likely to shrink and hide in the the hedge just like Homer Simpson. So yeah, Clipper Nation, whatever you’re trying to tell yourself about the you think it’s an upgrade Powell to uh be. No, it’s not. It is not. Absolutely not. And the grind, understanding the grind is a big reason why because Norman understands what it takes to work hard and be that level. I don’t think Bradley does. I don’t think Bradley does. I would be shocked if that man grinds. And uh D Rozan Code, he don’t got it. No, he’s one of those players that there’s a clip of Shaq out recently. They asked Shaq straight up, “Who do you think is the worst player in the NBA?” He said, “Rudy Gobear.” He said, “Straight up, Rudy Gobar.” And the guy, the interviewer said, “What about Ben Simmons?” He’s like, “Oh, he’s bad, too. He’s a bum also.” Basically, Shaq said, “These guys are getting $250 million to play in the NBA, and they suck. They’re bums. They’re stealing money.” And he said also, “I made my $120 million in my career and I busted my ass. I’m all [ __ ] up. My shoulder, I can’t do this with my neck. I’m hurt here. I’m hurt there.” This is what Shaq’s saying. And Rudy Goar and uh Ben Simmons and you know, people like Bradley Beal, they’re getting their money and they ain’t trying. And they are not u you know, they’re bums is what Shaq called them. And there’s a lot of players in the league like this. That’s why D Rozan said like there’s half the players in this league are not here for the right reasons and they’re not trying and that’s why we made up something called D Rozan code because the people that D Rozan sees as the bums like Shaq sees them as bums, they don’t have D Rozan code. Now guys like Norman Powell have D Rozan code is what I’ll say. That’s what I’m saying right there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ah. All right. Let’s see. Um um okay. Fiercy saying Kawhai wanted to go home. Well, he got his wish, but he had to give up the two Pete. He he it I mean it’s so dumb. It is really bad. He could have stayed for one more year and still gone home and been home by now and he would have two championships at least. Mo saying NBA TV Canada going international. Okay. Um I don’t know what that means. Uh, Seymour’s saying, “Every team out west has two bonafide centers.” No, not every team out west. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. A lot of them do have two centers. The Clippers have two good centers now. In fact, they’re making overtures that they’re going to play Brook Lopez with Ivaka Sububach. Uh, that’s a little weird. It’s a little weird. We’ll see how that works. They’re they’re a little bit I mean, Subac would be the power forward. Brook Lopez is always the center. He’s just he’s too too gigantic. Don’t tell me the Lakers have two centers. No, don’t even try and tell me that. Don’t even try and tell me that. You know, the the Nuggets are lucky they have two centers. They they’re forcing that Lithuanian guy to play for them. That’s right. Fly saying Bradley Beal may be younger, but he’s also trash. I’m sorry, but I have to let it out. No comparison between them. Yeah. I mean, what has he done? Like, you know, the Bradley Beal of Washington Wizards from back in the day that was actually respectable is long gone. I haven’t seen a sign of him in years. I don’t think I’ve seen that Bradley Beal in five or six years, guys. Seriously, even when he was on Washington, he became washed before he left there. The Bradley Beal that we battled in the playoffs early in his career is long gone. That dude is not the same person. He is just not trying. It’s crazy. He finally got it through his thick skull. that his no trade clause and everything people he was very unpopular. He his his wall of like not hearing the noise came shattering down and he heard the noise. It probably was mentally tough for him to hear actual truth about how people felt about him and his no trade clause and his contract with the Phoenix Suns and how much the Suns fans actually hated him and you didn’t even realize it because he’s just like so full of himself just like ah yeah no the Suns fans love me right the Suns fans love me. No, they don’t. They hate you, Bradley. They absolutely hate you. And well, you’re a Clipper now. You’re a Clipper now. And I’m sorry, Clippers Nation, don’t get all excited about getting him on a bargain. He’s in the bargain bin for a reason. Let’s just put it that way. He was in the bargain bin for a reason. That’s right. Seymour saying, “Exactly, I candy.” There you go. He is 100% behind. Fiercy on that. Shaq Lindsay saying this. Norman has a ring. What does Bradley have? Boom. Goes a dynamite. Shaq Lindsay speaking facts. this this summer, man. This is the summer of truth for Shaq Lindsay. He’s coming in here like all the time dropping these kind of things like here. Yeah, Shaq Lindsay, you got another dunk, man. You’re cons your your streak is continuing right now. 38 for you. That we can’t argue with facts. I mean, he just dropped a big huge fact right there. Uh Reggie saying, “I thought the Clippers Nation and Norman were cool with each other.” That’s too bad. They are, but they aren’t. It’s like, you know what it is? It’s just the toxicness of LA fans. I mean, we give uh Lakers fans the worst rap because they are the more toxic. The Clippers fans have been lowly for so long, but when the Clippers get a new arena, they get a crazy ass owner that’s spending out the wazoo. They got all these dinosaur players that are hurt and sitting around, they feel good and they get all like uh big and bad themselves. And I think that it’s just like they’re trying to spin the feelings of losing Norman into like, well, we didn’t want him anyway and all this kind of stuff. In some ways, it’s disrespectful. It’s disrespectful. And especially since they’re trying to compare Bradley to Norman Powell. I mean, that’s natural to do because you guys just switched players and in some ways we did the similar thing when Gary Trent came here and uh Norman went the other way, but it’s not exactly the same. Let’s just put it that way. It’s not exactly the same. And in some ways, Norman doesn’t deserve no disrespect from the Clippers nation at all. That’s right. Smooth saying, “The last time Bradley Beal was a thing was 2014 15.” I know it’s been like 10 years. I said five or six years. You’re saying it’s been 10 years. Yeah. Yeah, that sounds about right. Seriously, this man has not done anything quality on an NBA court to help winning in a long time. And I don’t know why LA Clippers fans are getting all uh woo we’re gonna be great because Bradley’s coming. Um okay, sure. Y’all been saying y’all gonna be great since Kawaii showed up. Ain’t happened. Has not happened. No, it has not. Has not happened yet. Yeah. Yeah. Fiery saying uh Seymour define bonafide. Bonafide is for real truth. The truth. It’s like this is like cannot be disputed. This is like yeah this guy’s bonafide good. That means he can’t he can’t be disputed. That is just the truth. It’s an absolute truth when you’re bonafideed. You are bonafideed, bro. That means you’re a badass and you are the truth. That’s what that means right there. Colloy saying, “And be is only cheap because of the buyout.” Yeah. Yeah. It’s goofy. Once again, an LA market team gets a a hand handme out a handout from the NBA. Here you go. you can get this high premium veteran player for a discount from the bargain bin. Here you go. You know, that’s the thing. Those kind of moves, they never work. They’re too good to be true. And that I’ll be laughing when the Clippers continue to be who the Clippers have been already. That’s right. Reggie saying, “When Washington swept out the Raptors with John Wall and Beal, I really thought they both were going to be superstars. I was so wrong. I knew that the player type that John Wall was was not going to work in the NBA because in some ways it’s like look he’s a guard who’s a scorer and he’s not really a point guard and then also he’s not a good shooter. Like that’s just a weird combination. How the hell are you gonna be a good NBA player if you’re just a fast guy who can run up and down the court and score near the basket but you can’t shoot from outside and then also you’re not really a good point guard. you’re not really passing other people. You’re selfish and you only call your number your own number for the most part. Yeah. John Wall to me was always a flawed NBA player that was not going to get anywhere. I looked at his player build and I’m like, “This dude is not going to win anything. This guy can’t shoot. He’s not a true point guard. He’s a ball hog. He shoots way too much and he’s actually shooting like 30%. So, it’s like high quantity, low quality, and he has to have the ball to be effective in any kind of way. is absolutely the kind of player build that does not lead to championships. And I knew that when I was watching them before. You know, the Wizards in some ways their success was because of Paul Pierce. Once again, Paul Pierce, if he shows up on teams like the Clippers, like the Wizards, like the Nets, when he’s around those teams, he brings them up a little bit. And that that was the big part of it. I mean, we saw Paul Pierce in the playoffs on the Wizards and on the Nets during those periods of times, and he he’s really the more the reason. He’s more of the reason those teams were good right there. That’s it right there. Yeah. Let’s see. Um, uh, let’s see. Seymour saying, “Okay, maybe not every team out west, but the contenders do.” Yeah, a lot of them do. Spurs have like three centers now. It’s crazy. The Spurs have like three centers now if you count WBY as a center. Yeah, Fiery saying agreed, Seymour. Houston, in my opinion, looks very good and have talented and useful bigs. Houston’s scary. If if Kevin Durant is going to figure out how to co uh coexist with everybody on that team and really fit in with them, they could be very dangerous. They could actually be one of the favorites in the West. For sure. For sure. We’ll have to see. I don’t I don’t know for sure with anything with Durant. He’s very much similar to Bill is like I don’t believe you until you show something again because in some ways you’ve shown you’re halfwashed for the last five years and that that’s the thing Stargate saying James will be on Discord glazing Bradley Beal in the playoffs in the clip Clippers. No, James isn’t like overly doing that or anything like that. No, no, come on. Let’s not call him out. That’s I don’t see him doing that. Uh Wayne saying good morning rapper freaks. Good health to all. Slow season in session. Love you Messiah. Yeah, this is where things get tough for me. It was so nice to have the summer league games. I got an uptick in traffic. There were a lot more people viewing my streams, but now we go back to I got to make up subjects every day like the one today, you know, trivia tomorrow. We’ll do all the offseason stuff like with the WOW Wednesday, Thursday think tank. Everything’s back in order pretty much for the rest of the summer at this point. Now, I might um there was something that I might cover that is coming up that I’m like, “Oh, this may help.” I mean, I’m going to have to cover the global jam and there’s a couple of other different things going on that I should probably cover pretty closely that I got to remember about. You know, there’s also the Euro League stuff that Yaka Purle is getting ready to play for team Austria, guys. He is going to go to Austria now and play in the Euro basket uh championships for Austria and uh you know a lot of people are going to do that. Euro Yonis Vunis will be playing for Lithuania over there. So maybe I’ll do some coverage on Euro League especially since our Raptors some of them may be involved at least YaKob will be involved. So you know I’m gonna have to find stuff to cover guys. This is where it really gets crazy after summer league for the rest of summer. How the hell is Lex gonna figure out a subject for a stream every single day for like August and September? It’s gonna be madness. I mean, I I’m just trying to figure out the rest of July and it’s going to be tough. But tomorrow we’ll do some trivia and you guys be ready for some trivia tomorrow. That’s right. That’s right. Uh Stargate saying and when we check him on on it, he calls us hard and haters. Man, listen. I don’t like your proclivity to single out other raptors freaks and personally target them. Don’t do this, Stargate. Seriously, don’t do this. James is a good guy. I like James. James is participating in our Raptor Freak uh uh WNBA fantasy league. He’s he’s a very uh you know, he’s got different opinions and stuff like that, but there’s no reason for us to personally attack each other. Let him have his personal differences. In some ways, it’s not even that different. I didn’t even see any of this what you’re talking about. I I can’t get mad about this. I If he wants to glaze the Clippers a little bit, that’s his own choice. It’s not really that egregious, but yeah, I don’t like you personally attacking him. There’s no no reason to do this. Fiercy saying, “Our starting five are bonafideed.” Yeah, I agree with that. I agree with that for sure. Fiercely saying, “Next summer you will have Toronto Tempo to add as daily content.” Yes, it’ll be so much easier because I’ll have the ability to do the tempo previews and reactions and oh my gosh, it’s gonna be so much easier. and I’ll actually have to try and figure out how to sandwich and wedge in Team Canada stuff, summer league, uh, and even all the offseason schedule stuff that I do. We’re not going to have as many Thursday think tanks. We’re not going to have as many Sunday reports. We’re not going to have as many, uh, Saturday share the love clubs. And it’s just because I’m gonna focus on the Tempo games on those days and make them uh what I do in the regular season for the Raptors, previews and reactions to all Toronto Tempo games where I’m going set you up the day of the game in the morning and then the day after we will go over the game afterwards. And hopefully this will really help collect some uh interest in the brand new WNBA expansion team coming to our city next year. That’s part of what I want to do right there. That’s right. Wayne’s saying, “Now is the perfect time to practice our cloud GM skills. I’m all for it.” See, Wayne is saying as a sergeant-at-arms, he’s declaring, “All right, it’s open season to be a cloud GM now. It’s fine. We don’t have games to concentrate on. No reason to talk about this. You talk about the cloud GM stuff.” Well, our team’s almost pretty much set. So, in some ways, it’s like you can’t really talk about the Raptors too much because we pretty much got our team set. You could speculate about Chris Buché. You can speculate about Precious Sichua, but our team’s pretty much set. So, yeah, Wayne’s saying it’s open season now. Mo saying, “Yes, Dylan Brooks will be at Global Jam.” Yeah, I look, they’re also advertising RJ Barrett and uh some of the WNBA ladies also there. Uh yeah, Dylan Brooks is now a Phoenix Sun, which is kind of weird to me. There’s footage recently of Dylan Brooks running into Fred Van Vleet at Summer League and dapping each other. I wonder about how that went. Like Fred’s like, “Man, Dylan, you’re crazy, man. You crazy, D. Dylan, man.” He’s like, “Fred, you know you love me, Fred. You know you love the villain, Dylan.” It’s like, “Man, listen. Dylan, bro, you you you you’re crazy, bro. You get us in so much trouble with your [ __ ] man. I wish you would chill sometimes.” No, Fred. You know you’re going to miss me when I’m gone and all the things that I did for your team. I know I’ll miss that, but I ain’t going to miss some of the extra [ __ ] I’m going to tell you that right now, Dylan. I ain’t going to miss some of the extras. Freddy, I love you. You’re gonna love it. And but you’re going to hate it when I come and do it to you now. Dylan Brooks, Fred Ban Vleet, very polar opposite kind of personalities, but in some ways they were birds of a feather, also as teammates on the Houston Rockets the last two years. But yeah, it’s it’s kind of sad. I mean, I like Dylan on the Rockets, but well, he’s gone to the Suns. It’s going to be a trash pile. And ah I just wish the best things for our villain Dylan. We love Dylan Brooks. That’s right. The Raptor streaks love Dylan Brooks. He’s team Canada, baby. And he may be hated in a lot of circles around the NBA, but not here. Not on this channel. He’s a hero here. He may be a villain to many, but not here. He’s a hero. He’s a Canadian hero. That’s right. FY saying, “I believe Trevor Jay started shared the top valuable WNBA teams. The Valkyries are on top due to the overwhelming response from the fans and selling merchandise. I’m hoping Toronto Tempo has the same outcome. That’s interesting. I didn’t see that ranking. So, the Valkyries are the most valuable WNBA franchise as a first year franchise right now. Yeah. I mean, I I get it. I guess I’ll bet you we will have this kind of impact. We may already be showing up on the merchandise charts. We don’t even have a player yet. Seriously, Toronto Tempo’s selling merchandise. They’re selling merchandise. They got they got every kind of object you could buy with Toronto Tempo. That’s for sure. Yeah, they’re selling merchandise. They might be getting on the list already at some point. Seriously. That’s right. Fly saying, “Imagine Dylan Brooks trying to do his pregame dance with Devin Booker.” Yeah. Yeah. I like this. There’s a quote from um Jaylen Green recently because he’s a son also now. Jaylen Green said, “I can’t wait to play alongside Devin Booker. We’re going to be such a a powerful combination. Y’all are too similar. Once again, this is a weird thing, Suns. Why you keep getting players that are similar? And why are you stockpiling shooting guards this off season? Seriously? Yeah. I mean, in some ways, Jaylen Green, you and Devin Booker play the same position and y’all gonna be playing at the same time. I don’t get this, man. Seriously, I’ve been saying this about Jaylen Green for a while, and no disrespect, Scotty Barnes. I know he’s your guy. He’s not a good NBA player. I’m sorry. And well, the Houston Rockets not coveting him and easily trading him shows exactly what I said. It’s true. It’s like, seriously, if he was such a badass, he was such an important player, why wasn’t he a franchise player and sticking around the Rockets? No, he was disposable. and they knew that in some ways he’s a similar player to John Wall, a player that’s just not gonna win in this league because his build is a certain way and that’s just how it is. That’s just how it is. That’s right. They’re saying also out of uh Phoenix Suns camp. This is an interesting thing that people are talking about that the Raptors dodged a bullet in the draft by drafting Colin Murray Boils instead of Colin Malaw because apparently they’re already declaring common is going to be a bust. Yeah, apparently what happened is at summer league common’s hands were exposed that he has no hands. He’s really bad at catching the ball. He is not good at catching it. Now when he had Cooper flag and coniple and the Duke team setting him up, he could look real good catching it and silver platter in certain ways, but in the NBA game, his hands are getting exposed. And one of the things that uh about big men coming in the league is you’re a bust usually if you don’t have good hands. It’s absolutely essential that you’re able to catch the ball in traffic and catch it. Like think about YaKob and his hands and how he can catch stuff in different ways as a center in the NBA. You have to be that to be successful. Well, it’s already being exposed that Commonmen does not have hands to catch the ball at the NBA level. And they’re already declaring him he’s a high probability as a bust because his hands are crap. Wow. Well, Colin Murray Boils has the opposite. He has really good hands. He has spongy hands that just take the ball to him. But he’s not 7 foot2. He’s not 7 foot2, though. That’s it right there. That’s it right there. Boom goes the dynamite. That’s right. Fiery saying, uh, yes, they are. And it’s big money. Amazing response for an expansion team. That’s right. The Raptors. Well, no, the Toronto Tempo are making money already. And they ain’t got no player or coach yet at all. It’s crazy. Mon’nique is saying, “I’m hoping Khloe and uh Flag are on the Toronto Tempo together.” Yeah, Khloe Kits, the girlfriend of Colin Murray Boles from South Carolina. You are a tempo. Yes, let’s see what happens. Well, I’ll have to see about that. We’ll have to see about that. Wayne saying there’s always trades to be had. Rumor has it Kevin Durant wanted to come here, but Messiah blocked the deal. Messiah’s gone, so if Rockets don’t work, he wants to come here. He wants Aubrey to play point guard. Order in the court. Sergeant-at-arms. That is out of order. We do not talk about Aubrey playing point guard for the Raptors. That’s crazy. This ain’t no Master P. Percy Miller era. No, no, no, no. Even though there’s clips of uh Drake doing stuff on the court and shooting stuff and stuff. No, no, no, no, no, no. Kevin Durant, you don’t got that kind of pull. Seriously, this would be a crazy world if Kevin Durant came here all of a sudden and demanded that Drake play point guard for us. What is this? No, we can’t do this. The post Messiah world would be so stupid if this is what’s going to happen. Seriously. No. No. I think Durant is going to work out and the Rockets. So, we can avoid this. Hopefully, I think it’s gonna work out. So, we can avoid this. I really want that. Yeah. Fierce saying, “I I doubt Jaylen Green read the room last year. the Lethal Three from Phoenix, weren’t it? I mean, you’re switching Bradley Beal out for Jaylen Green. In some ways, that’s not an upgrade or a downgrade either. It’s the same as far as I’m concerned. I don’t know, man. The Suns are weird franchise. They’re just weird, man. They’re just weird. Shaq Lindsay saying, “I told you about comment. I should get a dunk.” Well, you want to toot your own horn and get a dunk. You know what? You’re right. No, you did say this early. I mean, I was talking about him as wanting to get him. I know I was totally wrong on this in some ways and all right fine check Lindsay. You can do a I told you so and you can get a dunk. You’re right. You’re right. I will come around and say you’re right. You got the Kelly Olen 41 man. You’re at 41 now on the dunk charts. Kelly Olin style. That’s right. That’s right. Yeah. Uh let’s see. Um Fiery saying Aubrey equals Drake. Nah. Yeah. Did you know Aubrey is his name? His name’s Aubrey. Aubrey. Yeah. His name is Aubrey. That’s his name. Uh Mo saying, “So Lex, in reference to summer league championship game.” I didn’t watch it either. Yeah. I mean, we’re done. What are we gonna watch? We’re Raptor Freaks. Mo’Nique and I, we watch when the Raptors play often. We’re not watching other teams at all. We don’t watch the playoffs. The Raptors weren’t playing in the playoffs this year. I did watch the finals, but that was really a special thing for a collaboration with To the Point. I wouldn’t have watched the finals except there was a high Canadian content and it was entertaining to see our guy Seakkum. So, but yeah, Mo and I, you know, the Raptors are done. We’re done. We’re not watching games. We put so much effort into following the Raptors during the season that if they’re done, we’re done. And uh, you know, she’s she really gets tired out from going to all those games and getting down the arena so much, she’s ready for the offseason to have a break. So, yeah, I’m totally the same here. I didn’t watch it. FY saying, “For me, dark Drake’s clips are the equivalent of Ben Simmons offseason workouts. Click baiting at its finest.” Okay. Okay. Drake’s clips. Drake’s clips. All right. Let me do the rundown and get out of here. We’re just over an hour. It’s great. Uh, Giants of Africa is going to be starting this week, guys. It’s about five days away. And, uh, yeah, Kawhi Leonard’s going to show up from Messiah and be one of the luminaries there. He’s going to dedicate a court. He’s going to do a mentoring for the youth. and he’s gonna be there for one of the camps and stuff. So, that’s fantastic. I love that. You go on then. Um, Kawi Leonard and hang out with Robin Roberts and Chenny from uh WNBA Allstar. All all kinds of people can be there. Comedian Michael Blackon. Yeah. Actor Boris Cojo and uh football legend Diddier Drogba will be all part of the Giants of Africa from July the 26 to August the 2nd. We love you, Messiah. Montreal, I don’t give a [ __ ] I don’t give a [ __ ] Edmonton Oilers, whoever was running Gretzkies, Oilers. No, the greatest sports executive in the history of Canadian sports is Messiah Jir. That’s just the truth. That’s just the truth. You can argue me on that. We’ll go into debate for him and I will take you down. That’s what That’s right. That’s right. Piercy saying, “My last summer league game was Saturday. No Raptors. No point in watching.” That’s it. That’s it right there. That’s it right there. Kareem Thomas saying, “I hope the Giants of Africa camp can get Kawhai to do a tribal dance. Let’s get Kawhai out of his shell. Let’s make him dance.” It’s likely that Kawhai will dance at Giants of Africa. Yes, I think Kawhai’s danced. I’ve seen Kawhi dance at times. Do a little like shake shake, you know? You know, he I’ve seen him dance in in clips before. I think I’ve seen Kawaii dance. I’m pretty sure I did. All right, y’all. Once again, the Straight Goods on Canadian goods.
