Vernon Maxwell tells a story of what made him WALK AWAY from the Houston Rockets! 🔥 #shorts #nba
Was there a moment in your career you ever thought about like just walking away from the game? I guess I quit one time. I quit with the Rockets when the [ __ ] treated me the way they did when they brought Drex along. Knew they had brought Clyde, but nobody didn’t call me and tell me. They ain’t call me and they ain’t say nothing but they was bringing Clyde. This [ __ ] was just a slap in the face. I had got suspended when I went in the stand. So, and the whole time I was suspended over that 10 games, they never would call me. I mean, they, you know, normally a team will call you and tell you check on you at least a little. Yeah. Okay. you got to go over here and work out with this guy, work out with a train over cuz you can’t go to the facility, right? So, nobody, it was like crickets. Nobody wasn’t saying [ __ ] And I was just like, this [ __ ] is weird. So, I was just out hitting my golf ball and trying to do what I knew what to do as far as working out and try to keep myself ready. And so, when I got back, playoff start was starting. I knew Clyde was going to start in front of me. I I mean, I get it. [ __ ] Fire slammer jama Houston, you know, native. I get it. Clyde and I respect, you know, Clyde’s game with Clive Dunn in the in the NBA. But the [ __ ] in game one in the Utah series, [ __ ] Rudy T just didn’t even call my [ __ ] name. But then the last three seconds, four seconds of the goddamn game. He Oh, Max, come on, man. We’re going to put you in there. We’re going to draw up a play for you to make this goddamn three to tie it up. You know, I’m in this [ __ ] I’m like, goddamn, this [ __ ] really trying me. You know what I mean? Rudy T really [ __ ] trying me. And Rudy makes you a want to knock him out, did you? Man, I want to kill Rudy T. He put me in that [ __ ] and I ain’t have no goddamn intentions on making no goddamn shot. I slung that [ __ ] up there any kind of way. I didn’t give a [ __ ] I was mad the [ __ ] I walked in the goddamn locker room, but I and the [ __ ] almost went in actually when I threw I just threw the [ __ ] up there and that [ __ ] almost I said, “Oh, please don’t go in. Don’t know that mother.” So I messed him up. I went in the locker room. I was I was just I was like a [ __ ] bomb went off in that [ __ ] I was I went crazy. I was so mad. I just walked myself. I walked back to the hotel, man. And I was [ __ ] getting heck heckled by the [ __ ] fans and [ __ ] while I was walking back to the hotel just mad as [ __ ] Like, man, I’m going to get the [ __ ] out of here. I’m going to get the [ __ ] out of this. I can’t do this [ __ ] I can’t keep. And then Sam came to my room, talked to me. Rudy Tum called me. It was like, “Man, we’re going to have a meeting. Y’all let Vern know we’re going to have a we want to have a meeting with him.” And so I went and had the meeting with him. And I was just like, “Nah, man. I just [ __ ] that [ __ ] man. Rudy T, that’s some [ __ ] what you did to me. That’s embarrassment.” And so after all I’ve done for this [ __ ] organization. And then I was just like, man, they was like, “Nah, you don’t leave, please.” They was like, you know, Rudy Tum ain’t want me to leave, but I just my dumb ass did some dumb [ __ ] And I was getting ready to get paid that summer and dumb ass walked away from a bunch of goddamn money. I mean, it was a bad decision. I mean, but yeah, man. That’s what happened. The bulk of that story right

Honestly, if you had asked me 30 year ago where Mad Max would be in the year 2025, I'd have probably guessed dead or in jail over some dumb shit he spent .02 seconds thinking about. Dude's temper was explosive. And this has nothing to do with him slapping that fan. That fan had it coming. His temper was already legendary before that incident. Plus the money was still kind of new to the league, and players were still very often going broke 2 year after retiring because they didn't have proper financial education yet. I was genuinely worried what Maxwell would do with himself when ball wasn't an option and the money was all gone. Very happy to see him doing so well and still looking healthy.
I love Max! I wish I'd had this understanding of him back then- I would have enjoyed watching him even more! He's for real.
Max a real one took accountability
So entitled for a slightly above average NBA player
This cat is shot out!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
Max keep a fro now …. When he was in the league you would think he couldn't grow hair.
It wasn't dumb. A man that chooses not to put money above his own self worth is a man worth paying attention to
Imagine what he could have been with a better attitude.
I wouldve felt like Max. That was some disrespectful and inconsiderate ish. Lol. Rudy shouldve known better.
I love Max but there’s a such thing as cussing too damn much
Max is a full hearted player ✊🏽
Oh please don’t go in 😂😂
“Please don’t go in” 😂😂😂
Man… Mad Max is the funniest NBA player ever 😂
That’s why I stopped playing basketball seriously with the intention of making it…growing up I always thought people actually loved basketball, it’s easy to say you love it then turn around and do crazy stuff because of contracts
I grew up quick hahahaha
I love this dude. Oh please don't go in.
living in the past lol …. yawns
I never really realized that Max left the Rockets….damn!
He threw the game
Hakeem slapped you, strike one, attacking fans, strike two, buddy the writing was on the wall.
Decent player, but he was a complete ignorant clown
😅😅😅 When U listen Max, he makes U laugh & you feel for him….
So basically, this guy goes into the stands and fights fans, he says he wants to punch out his coach, he curses throughout the interview– every other word is MFu or Fu; he sounds like complete gutter trash. A totally useless person.
We all do crazy things when we are young and cocky. But we grow mentally as time goes by, and can't believe you were the way you used to be lol
Max was a key player for the Rockets, played a role in their 1994 championship run.
He was super competitive man, talented player, Max could drop buckets fam
DAMN VERNON
Never blamed Max for this. He was in the right lane with his reaction. I woulda done the same damn thing. Respect is earned, and Houston did wrong big time. Hell yeah V Max. I’m with ya on this one.
Grown men baby syndrome
Whoever let Maxx walk back to the hotel is lucky he didn't get 3 4 people in the hospital
This is A Real!! Man, When he, knows that he, has Fuck up. And he, Stand up to it. Right on Max,😎
My boy grew hair back!!!!
