BRAND NEW RETAIL PRODUCT! 2024-25 Mosaic Basketball Blaster Review

All right, guys. Today we have some new basketball retail. We’re looking at three of the new mosaic blaster boxes. These are 30 to 35 bucks each. So, just like all the other chrome blasters. Uh you can get them from Walmart, Target, or Shields, you know, the usual places. Same format as always, 36 cards per box, and you get six prism parallels. Uh the true silvers usually aren’t guaranteed for mosaic, so you’re going to get some greens and some of those mosaic or mosaic silver parallels. Just like the football version, we do have a couple changes this year though. They added one numbered parallel. That is the blue seismic number to 149. So now we have a few different numbered cards, which are the red seismic to 299, blue seismic to 149, and orange fluorescent 225. Uh we still have the Genesis shortrints. Uh those are retail exclusive again. So one of our main chases for today. Same exact retail inserts as last year. So we still have the ultra rare stained glass and micro mosaic. Uh they did add one more short print to retail and that is called full capacity which I believe is the same one they had in a couple other sets from previous years. So now it’s in mosaic retail and we’re going to have three different case hits now. Uh you also have some retail autos which are scripts and rookie scripts. And the rookie scripts will have all the top guys that have been signing for this year. Uh so you can get lucky and pull some decent rookie autos out of this one. And those will also come in genesis orange fluoresence to 25 and golds to 10. So, yeah, couple small changes. Uh, very, very different from Hobby now, uh, with all the crazy stuff they added over there. Uh, I missed out on pre-ordering those for 300 bucks, which I’m pretty sad about. Um, so yeah, pretty disappointed I didn’t get to open Mosaic Hobby this year like I usually do. Um, I mean, I guess I could, but I really don’t want to spend $550 on that. So, this is one of our consolation prizes. Three blaster boxes. Uh but you know, hopefully we still pull something nice out of here. So here you go. Uh base design. Not going to have the cool premium lasers that they have over in the hobby boxes. Uh we got DeAndre Aon, Bugdanovich, Manuel Quickley, a lot of base um vets. Then we have a green of Cam Thomas and a Terrence Shannon Jr. base rookie. So yeah, we’ll get uh mostly these greens or those mosaic silvers. All right, Harden, Devin Booker, Payton Watson, and an Amen Thompson on the Mosaic and a base city edition of Giannis. And next up, Jaden Hardy, Champenni, Jordan Clarkson, and made an autograph here. We did. And it is Landry Shamut for the Knicks. Holy crap, this card is bent to hell. Uh Landry Sham for the Knicks on the scripts. So, we did get an auto today. We have a Chris Murray and a Jaylen Wells. Yeah, little bit of a Boeing on this card, but I’ll be all right. just top load it. But yeah, Landry Shamut, typical retail auto. Been uh bouncing around the league for a little bit. Got to be uh quite a few guys like this on the checklist. But an auto is an auto. So I’m sure someone out there is a big Landry Shamut fan. And we have Jeremy Grant, Anthony Simons, Joic, and an epic performers of Jared McCain. And so there’s that design for this year. These are going to be all retail exclusive inserts. And here’s an NBA great of Yao Ming. Kind of cool on Mosaic and SGA City edition. Malachi Brandom Russo Westbrook. Epic performers green of Alexar. Pretty cool PC card. and a Drew Holiday. Really cool color match there. And is Zach Ed. And last pack of this box. Uh we got Victor, TJ McConnell, Miles Turner, and what is this? Oh, it’s a Thunder Road of LeBron. That’s pretty cool. Nice design this year. I like that. LeBron James card. We got a green of Rob Dillingham and another base LeBron. All right. So, yeah, not too bad. First box. Um, let’s see. Zack Collins, Jarrett Allen, and we did get a true silver in this box. And it is a rookie, Don Holmes, and here’s an Alex Sar NBA debut. And next up, K, Jamal, Julius Randall. There’s Tyrese Hallebertton on the mosaic. and Baronnie base. And we might have something here. Got Duncan Robinson, Norman Pal, and got another autograph of Leonard Robinson. Another script. So, two autos and two boxes uh for the Phoenix Suns. Then, Jam Masters of SAR. That’s what I saw. It’s just a regular insert. and PJ Washington and Kevin Garnett. Nice autograph. Um, that’s the thing with like some of these like older players, these legends. Uh, most of them put uh some decent effort into their autographs, which I really respect. So, uh, two for two on autos, honestly. Um, I think you usually only see like a couple of those per case. So, we probably got the two boxes that have them. Uh, got LeBron. There’s an NBA great of Dwayne Wade and Jonathan Mbo and Scoot Leak Monk. There’s a Jam Masters of Boozelis. These always look pretty funny. the Giant Heads and Jaden McDaniels and a Ron Holland. And last pack of box number two, there’s a give and go of LaMelo Ball. Is this numbered? It is not. That is just the Charlotte Hornet colors cuz there is a blue. So I thought it might have been numbered. So Trace McGrady and Bobby Clintman. All right. And in our last box. See we get here. Got a silver Tristan D Silva. Not too bad. and a Ryan Dunn, Grayson Allen, Bari, KD, uh, Ben Simmons, Mosaic, and a Victor, Mike Connley, Zubots, Christian Brown. Here’s a Pajki and Dylan Jones. All right, just a few packs left. Uh, can we pull a Genesis? Maybe a stained glass. Here’s a Victor Wyama mosaic and a Giannis Thunder Road. Really love the design on the stained glass this year. I was hoping we can pull one of those. And we have a Steph Curry Mosaic and Reed Shepard, Yandere Aiden, Mobly. Uh there’s a green of LeBron. So some nice LeBron cards today. Take those. And Aha and Tyler Kolic. And last pack for today, Brandon Ingram, Tammani Kamara, another Thunder Road, this time of Tyrese Maxi, and a Jamal Shed on the green. All right, guys. Here is your recap from three blaster boxes. Uh, starting with your base rookies. You actually don’t get all that many rookie cards compared to like select, I think. Um, even though you get like way more cards in general. Uh, so you’re going to get a huge chunk of base vets and then you get three inserts per box. Um, so here’s some of the ones we pulled. Some cool redesigns on some of these this year. And you can pull a numbered versions as well. Uh, your parallels. Uh, yeah, you know, typical mosaic. You’re going to get mostly the these mosaic or mosaic greens. Just a ton of those. So, if you open like a case of this stuff for, you know, a lot of boxes, you’re going to get sick of these pretty fast. And I didn’t notice these when I was opening cuz uh they’re so shiny. But uh looks some of these corners looks like someone’s freaking dog chewed them. So hopefully your cards don’t look like this. And then here’s some of the stuff that we sleeved up. Um some rookie color. We got Rob Dillingham, Jamal Shed, and then two silvers. So you don’t get one in every box for Mosaic. We got Don Holmes and Tristan Dilva. Epic performers of Sar and Jam Masters of Boozelis on the greens. It’s just green, green, green everywhere. But, uh, couple of nice rookie inserts there. And a couple of LeBron, Thunder Road, and Epic Performers. And then we did actually pull two autos, uh, from the three boxes. Uh, kind of wish gotten a decent rookie auto. So, um, you know, got lucky, but also kind of unlucky at the same time. And also zero numbered cards, which are probably going to be super tough to pull again this year, even though they, you know, added the blues out of 149. And I think last year I opened a few boxes and uh I got zero number cards there as well. So going to be hard to pull those. Uh so yeah, I mean nice looking cards. There’s a few that I really liked and you know I like Mosaic, but for retail, you know, this set is always tough at 30 to 35 bucks. Very low floor on this one. I think this is one of those products you wish would scale in price just like hobby instead of everything starting out at the same price. I mean, don’t get me wrong, you can pull some absolutely crazy cards out of here when, you know, with the stained glass and the micro mosaics, uh, those have some really great designs this year, but this is definitely one of those products that’s going to be discounted in a couple months for like 20 bucks, just like most of the other basketball retail products that they put out this year. So, for the price, this one is like a five out of 10 for me. Same old Mosaic retail. The mega boxes probably aren’t going to be that much better. And the hobby blasters for this product were pretty bad last year. And Fastreak is actually a little pricey right now. Um although I did pre-order that for around $200. I think right now they’re up to almost 300. Uh so that’s why I’m kind of bummed I missed out on Hobby when that was 300 bucks. Uh but yeah, that was the blaster boxes.
