Did the Rockets Just Give Away a Future Star?
Yes, the Rockets might have just made a franchise altering mistake. Houston just traded 20-year-old Cam Whitmore to the Wizards for only two second round picks. This is the same Whitmore who averaged 12.3 points as a rookie, hit nearly 36% from deep, and led the league in points per touch. But with Houston signing KD and loading up on wings, Whitmore got squeezed out of the rotation. Now he’s heading back home to DC, joining a rebuilding Wizards team with way more opportunity and way less pressure. So, let me ask you this. Did Houston just trade away their future star for nothing?
The Rockets just traded Cam Whitmore to the Wizards for two second-round picks… and fans are calling it the steal of the offseason. 💥 Will this move come back to haunt Houston? Or is Cam about to explode in D.C.?
🔥 Watch till the end and decide.

YES, Houston is known for this type of nonsense. Houston messed up trading Jalen Green. KD will be 38 Next Year. STUPID🤢
It's good for him honestly
They did him good.
He is from Maryland and he will play more.
The Rockets knew the possibility but they had no choice. Keeping him would stifle his growth
He playes no defense. like he isn't just bad but gives no effort. They gave him a chance to choose where to go and facilitated the trade for his interest instead of theirs. Who cares.
HELL YEAH 🤣
You only can keep but so Many players it was good they traded him..He needs to play more period
Nah. They won’t regret it. They traded him to a good situation a rebuilding situation. Home where he wanted to be so. Stop reaching
Cam n KAMINGA would be crazy
Thank you rockets organization…..he will shine with the playing time the wizards will
Give him
It’s possible they have given him away for next to nothing, sure. We won’t know for certain for another couple of years. Now, I do think they didn’t get much for him as is right now – but I’m very happy for Cam. He deserves to have more minutes which he’ll surely get in Washington. He’s a heck of a talent and I’m hoping he goes on to be a vital asset to the Wizards’ roster! Wish he could’ve stayed in Houston, but with their off season moves? I don’t think Cam would have seen the time on court he deserves. And felt like there could have been some tension between Cam and the coaching staff and organizational leadership.
Good for him but bad decision trading these young future star
I think it was a mistake. He could have learned under KD and been the long term plan after KD .
Cam didn't wanna buy into the team concept.. they traded him to the place he wanted to go to. Did him a solid despite better offers.
They ain't getting a 1st from the Wizards they did him a solid because they really care.. Cam wanted out so his career can thrive
Yes
Rockets sent him back home that was dope good luck young bull will still root for you
They prolly did him good. His numbers are more than likely gonna go up in Washington. Shoot maybe itll be like harden leaving okc for houston and his numbers skyrocket. Its all a gamble. Houston still has a solid team. Def not "franchise altering"
If the wizards give cam starters minutes consistently, he’ll average 25 per game. Sucks that we had to watch Jalen green score 7 or 8 points game after game while cam just sat there.
They made a big mistake. Like I said in comments, the Rockets should add to the Rockets Org. needs to add and not take away from the team.
Not about the money—Cam’s still on a rookie deal. The team knew he wouldn’t get the minutes he deserves, so they sent him where he can actually play and shine.
Franchise altering is so overdramatic lmao
Slam Whitmore was traded for a bag of peanuts and will be looked at in the future as one of the worse mistakes the Franchise has ever made.
Hell yes
Reed Sheppard is going to be a bust
Rockets might regret it😢
Man fook kid wtf
Yes they did. And it was because of IME. Smh
Anyone who watched rockets games last year could tell he was unhappy on the bench I knew he would be traded which is unfortunate because I really liked him on houston they did him solid though sent him home and somewhere he will get more playing time and can play through mistakes and grow as a player
Yep
Cam was never going to be a star with the rockets
He was honestly unhappy with the Rockets I hope he can shine as an All-star in Washington
