The TRUTH Finally Leaked…

The TRUTH Finally Leaked…

The truth finally leaks. Jonathan Kaminga’s agent just broke his silence on negotiations with the Warriors. And this is shocking. After multiple reports claimed Kaminga turned down a $30 million a year contract offer last season, his agent came out swinging, calling it a lie. But why is he speaking up now? And what does this say about the talks going on behind the scenes? In today’s video, we’re breaking down the agents explosive response, what it reveals about Kaminga’s future, and how it changes the entire offseason narrative. So, let’s get into it. I’m Martha Bayister. This is Warriors Digest. I need you to hit subscribe right now because we bring you the best Warriors content on YouTube. This is the headline going around. The Jonathan Kaminga agent calls Warriors $30 million rumors fake news. So, Kaminga’s agent Aaron Turner went on the record last night on Twitter completely unprovoked and gave this shocking quote here. Now, this all started with a tweet from CJ Talks Ball, who if you don’t know him, you’re not alone. He only has about 1,200 followers. He’s not an NBA reporter, insider, anything like that. Just somebody who tweets out his opinions on basketball. He tweeted this out last night saying, “So, what’s your’s goal? Should we believe the Warriors were irresponsible enough to offer JK $30 million a year so we can call JK dumb? Doesn’t that make the Warriors dumb, too? I just think it’s unlikely they actually offered him that much and unlikely that they’d turn it down.” They being Kaminga’s side. Now, the shocking explosive part of this is that Kaminga’s agent actually responded to this out of nowhere. Aaron Turner hops in the thread saying no one on our side was turning down a $30 million a year offer. Our camp is smarter. The narrative makes no sense. Twisted up Slater’s words. This is wild because Aaron Turner has tweeted three times in the past year. Two of those were in June. He retweeted Shams Chirania posting about a couple of his clients getting contract extensions. And his last post before that was in February 2024 where he tweeted out uh congratulations to Kaminga for getting his 2000’s career point. He doesn’t respond. He doesn’t go public. You don’t see quotes from him. So why now? I mean this feels very calculated. But I want to go back to before I break down exactly why I believe he’s doing this. I want to go back to what he said here where he said that they twisted up Slater’s words. So, all of this reporting about Jonathan Kaminga getting a $30 million a year contract offer and turning it down last year is per the reports from Anthony Slater, the Warriors top insider, writes for the Athletic. He’s followed the team for a decade plus. He’s going over to ESPN next year. So, you see the caliber of reporter that he is. If you’re not familiar with his work, last October, as the off season was wrapping up, he wrote a piece for the New York Times via The Athletic where he broke down, you know, why negotiations broke down between Kaminga and the Warriors. And in his story, he said it’s possible Kaminga would have accepted a contract below max value, but the Warriors never upped their offer somewhere near the $30ish million per range into an appealing enough ballpark. So, the two sides plan to let Kaminga’s fourth season play out before revisiting his future. That was Slater’s story last year. And then you get Aaron Turner and responding with his tweet last night that no one on their side turned on a $30 million deal. This feels like semantics to me. Uh, and you look at uh, excuse me, when you look at Slater’s report where he says that, you know, they didn’t get close to the $30 million a year. We still don’t have an accurate number on what the Warriors actually offered there. So, it’s interesting here to me that Turner speaks up now. Why would he speak up now? I think this is really interesting here because I think that really what they’re trying to do is get strategic here. This feels very strategic to me. So, by shutting that old narrative down, I really think that Aaron Turner is trying to salvage Kaminga’s value here and making him look like a reasonable teamfriendly asset, you know, and he wants to distance Kaminga from this diva label where, you know, in a slow moving market here, teams are hesitant to take on these big contracts, being labeled as a young player with unrealistic contract demands. I mean, that’s toxic. That’s not good. I think they’re really trying to reset the narrative here and put this on the Warriors and not make it look like Kaminga overvalued himself and now is stuck in a situation where nobody has money under the CBA to actually pay him. Now, what does this say about the Warriors front office? I mean, I I think that, you know, this they’re settling into the reality here that Kaminga at this high of a price tag, nobody wants that. So, it’s making things really difficult. So, their key priority here is going to be to manipulate perceptions to get better leverage in these negotiations here. I think that’s what the Warriors have set out to do. That’s going to be one of their main goals here is trying to up his value so they get a better return here. But this all of this, I mean, it was just pretty shocking to see Turner finally address something about the Kaminga situation here. Um, it just seems strange and strategic and I think that everything is extremely strategic with Kaminga’s camp here. I mean, I think that they are looking at him as one of their prized possessions. When you look at who Aaron Turner represents here, I think that this is interesting as well. This may be a little bit difficult to see, but his highest biggest client right now is Terry Roier, who signed a deal for $96 million. After that, you’ve got a, you know, some middling deals, but his biggest potential out of all of his clients right now is Jonathan Kaminga in terms of how much money he can make off of him, how much money was projected to be out there for Kaminga. So, I mean, this is a big deal for them. He doesn’t have other high-profile clients and his he’s got the big one of the off season in Jonathan Kaminga. Everybody has been watching to see what he’s going to do here. So, I just think that all of this is very interesting. I want to hear your thoughts down in the comments. Do you think that Kaminga’s agent is trying to, you know, plant some stories here so that they can get favorable press for Kaminga and try to distance from this narrative here? I think it’s really interesting and something to be watched as we move forward here. Um, because I think that you’re going to keep seeing things coming out and things getting leaked. I want to remind you that, you know, The Athletic as a publication has a long history and reputation of being closely linked with agents. The Athletic gets a lot of the info that they report on from their sources from these agents. These agents want to push a certain narrative. Teams want to push a certain narrative. The Athletic and their writers just so happen to be a little bit more closely connected with some of these agents here. So, I just I think that, you know, there’s a story and a narrative that is being pushed. I don’t know what to believe. None of us as Warriors fans know what to believe here at all. But I do think that there may be a kernel of truth to this because for one, I just don’t think that the Warriors would be dumb enough to handicap themselves going into this season by signing Kaminga to uh a deal around 30 million last year. knowing how the CBA was going to change things this year, it just would not have made any sense, especially knowing that he wasn’t clearly a starter yet in this team in the current construction of the team when they offered him supposedly offered him that deal back in October. So, I just I think that the Warriors in this $30 million a year thing just does the more you look at it and dig into it does seem to be a pretty dumb move on the Warriors side. So, I don’t I you know I think that there may be some truth to this here and that they didn’t get to that $30 million offer, but I think that there’s semantics being played here. It was probably somewhere within the ballpark there. There’s just semantics being played by his agent to make him look better. I mean, that’s the short story there. So, what do you think is going on here? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments. Do you think Kaminga is worth anywhere near that? Where do you think his valuation actually lies? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments, and I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Peace.

Kuminga’s agent just broke his silence—and what he said might completely change how we view the Warriors’ offseason.

After a wild rumor spread that Jonathan Kuminga was demanding $30 million per year, his agent came out swinging, calling it fake news and slamming the report. But here’s the real question—why speak up now? And what does this reveal about what’s really going on behind the scenes in Golden State?

In today’s video, Arthur Ballesteros breaks down the agent’s response, what it says about the Warriors’ front office, and how it reshapes the Kuminga trade saga heading into free agency. Is this damage control? A power play? Or a sign of major tension bubbling beneath the surface?

  1. The real problem is kuminga's agent thry trying to manipulate kuminga to get out to gsw to get a good offer to the worst teams coz they don't care about winning, just pure business

  2. It's more likely that the agent is more worried about his own reputation than Kuminga's lol. If the W's offered 25 – 30 mil, and he advised Kuminga to say no, then he looks incompetent now that the new CBA has dried up free agency money.

  3. i'm guessing there was no offer after he and moody were last offered. this ballesteros is offering opinion, and is attacking the warriors. i think he is just a lap dog for the dubs. if you don't know what to think, stfu

  4. the warriors didn't have enough dough for jt, but sold themselves down the river by giving 60 mil to 36 year old malcontent. .funny, the warriors pay a broken down malcontent on his final contract instead of a 22 year old comer for less than half.

  5. I could see Warriors pushing the diva narrative. They’ve really mistreated Kuminga. I hope he gets away from this toxic situation soon

  6. There is no love lost between JK, his agent, and Steve Kerr and the Warriors. It is clear that the Warriors want to keep Kuminga, but Steve Kerr is not interested. I truly believe everything that has happened to JK has been strategic from the Warriors. The results have been movement for no one. The best thing to do is sit down with GSW and get this thing worked out. The longer this goes on, JK will not get his price and teams won’t sign JK because of how he is holding up the progress of the entire Warriors team. At this point, everyone wants JK to move on.

  7. Exactly – there is a lot of politics going on.

Fans will be pissed at Kuminga if he turned down $30 million.

But W’s fans will be pissed at W’s management if they aren’t offering Kuminga a fair deal.

  8. Even if they sign Kuminga to a 30 million dollar deal right now, they could only get back 50% of thr value in a trade until December. He will be able to get back one hundred percent

  9. This is just ending I don’t believe he will be here this year ! He is a diva that wants more than he deserves !!!

  10. If he say that the natrative of the warriors side that said JK was offered around 25-30 million is lie then theres a chance that JK side can file a law suit for false narrative of what was circling around the NBA that there was an offer but there was indeed none if this "guy" of JK was telling the truth?JK and his side can take legal action because as young and upcoming player JK saying no for the so called offer of 25-30 million and they declined it as the story goes then it will have a bad take on JK reputation am i right if there where no offer from the gsw?

  11. Loseminga has to be the dumbest player in NBA history. He was drafted into a dream. A winning franchise with ownership willing to spend as much money as any other. Playing for a coach that won titles playing with the greatest player of all-time and for one of the greatest coaches of all-time. All he had to do was put his head down, work hard and do what was asked of him. If he had done that and learned the game and improved he would be signing a max deal right now and be firmly established with the team. Instead he felt he was entitled to everything while doing nothing. One of the greatest squanderings of athletic talent in NBA history

  12. Agreed

Warriors are fake news and all about money

Kominga should never play for the warriors

They were negotiating in a deceptive way..

  13. Given that in the post KD era, pretty much every rando out there can crack the playoff rotation of the warriors I'd say kumminga needs to leave for another tea. People blame him,.but then I see what happened to Klay, to Looney, to Poole and I am not so certain about this…

  14. It's possible that Warriors "leaked" the $30 offer to Slater to gauge Kuminga's response. That would be a standard negotiating ploy. Now that Slater moved to ESPN, he doesn't care if it gets called out.
