Indiana Pacers TRADE Bennedict Mathurin To The Utah Jazz? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the Indiana Pacers be trading away Benedict Matherin to the Utah Jazz this 2025NBA off seasonason? Well, here in the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayworld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Utah Jazz receiving Benedict Matherin, a 2027 firstround pick, and a 2028 second round pick, and the Indiana Pacers receiving Walker Kesler. So, this trade idea is pretty intriguing because this would see the Pacers filling a void uh that was left by Miles Turner going to the Milwaukee Bucks uh for their new center of the future. And in this case, that would be Walker Kesler, a player that is relatively young, relatively uh I would say still developing at this point and could be a pretty awesome move for them for the long term of this franchise. So, if the Pacers want to capitalize on their team being really good now, uh despite the fact that Tyrese Halburn will miss the entirety of next year most likely with his injury, this team can still compete in the Eastern Conference. Like, the Eastern Conference to me is pretty wide open. It’s not that deep. And if the Pacers were if the Pacers were able to replace Miles Turner, which they really haven’t this off seasonason with a good young player like Walker Kesler, that’s a great move. Uh that’s a great move for both the short term but also the long term uh given his age and his future as a really impactful you know center in the league. So I love the idea of Walker Kesler going to the Pacers. Now did you know does he stretch the floor offensively like Miles Turner did? No, he’s a very different player. But in regards to just filling a hole and filling a void for a championship caliber Pacers team at the center position, Walker Kesler accomplishes that without a doubt. Now, from the Jazz’s perspective, this is a pretty intriguing trade because you’re capitalizing on Walker Kessler’s value being pretty high. You’re getting back a good young player in return in the form of Benedict Matherin. He’s a very streaky player, a very flashy player. Like, he’s the kind of guy that can put up 30 points per game one day and then put up, you know, three or seven or 11 the next couple games. So, a little bit inconsistent there. A little bit of a streaky player. But what this Jazz team could desperately need is some scoring impact and some scoring punch. Matherine could be that guy and perhaps going to Utah would allow him to get more minutes, be a more focal point of this team, perhaps even be a starter and this could be the best thing for him at this point of his young NBA career. So, I love the fit from basketball perspective of Matherin going to Utah and bringing some punch, bringing some fun uh and bringing some energy uh to this Jazz team offensively speaking, but also too, you’re giving up a good young player in Walker C in Walker Cer, but you’re getting back a good young player as well into Benick Matherin plus draft capital. So, it’s always good for a team like Utah to stockpile some more draft capital, either use that at their own uh advantage or use those as trade assets later on and flip those for star players. So, a good move for both sides if I had to pick a winner for this deal. I’m going to go with the Utah Jazz because they are getting back a good young player plus draft capital, but from the Pacers perspective, a really good job filling a hole for them in an area of need. So, sort of a win-win trade for both sides. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
