Warriors Fans Get MAJOR NEWS From Jonathan Kuminga’s Agent In NBA Free Agency
[Music] Jonathan Kaminga’s agent said what? What’s going on, Dub Nation? You’re watching Warriors Today by Chat Sports. I am your host, Tyler Smith, and on today’s show, we have a new Jonathan Kaminga update, but it’s not an update that sees things materializing as far as a resolution goes between Kaminga and Golden State. No, Jonathan Kaminga’s agent took to Twitter after kind of a source off was going on between a couple of reporters out there and as to whether or not the Warriors actually offered Kaminga a substantial amount of money before last season started and he was eligible for a big-time extension. Now, his free agency is dragging on and we’re going to talk about all the details as far as those offers went or I guess maybe those offers didn’t go. First though, make sure you go down below and hit that thumbs up icon if you want the Kaminga saga to end soon because it’s getting a little bit, you know, to be a drag right now. We don’t want this to head into August or late August or into training camp, which we’ll talk about later on on today’s show. So, manifest this thing ending real soon. Go down below and hit that like button on today’s show. All right, here is the tweet from Aaron Turner, agent of Jonathan Kaminga. And it was a reply to a tweet that had talked about, you know, Kaminga being offered $30 million a season prior to the 25 2024 2025 NBA season starting. And he was eligible for a contract extension. Remember, Moses Moody got a new extension before the season started. Kamingo was eligible for a similar type of deal, but uh nothing ever materialized and decided to gamble on himself and enter restricted free agency this off seasonason. And Aaron Turner replied to that remark about $30 million being offered and he said, “No one on our side was turning down $30 million a year. Our camp is smarter than that. Narrative makes no sense.” Twisted up Slater’s words, I think. And Anthony Slater, we know, is one of the more tapped in individuals when it comes to the Golden State Warriors. And he had said this when it comes to what Kaminga was offered way back when. and he said it’s possible Kaminga would have accepted a contract below max value, but the Warriors never upped their offer and in parenthesis he says somewhere near the $30ish million per year range into an appealing uh you know into an appealing enough ballpark. So the two sides plan to be Kaminga’s fourth season play out before revisiting his future and that’s where we are today. And then back in May, we heard from Jake Fischer that the Warriors offered 5 years, $150 million before the season started and that Kaminga turned that money down. And that was kind of what uh his agent took to Twitter to kind of rebuff there and said there was never an offer of $30 million per season. So it’s kind of a source off going on right now because there’s a couple of other Warriors insiders that are agreeing and kind of on Aaron Turner side in this scenario. On the Dubs Talk Live podcast, Bontah Hill and Monty Pool said the following. They had this little back and forth about Kaminga, saying, “The Warriors never got close to offering anything in the $30 million range for Kaminga. Heck, numbers weren’t even passed along. Like, there was never an offer at all for Jonathan Kaminga.” And then Monty Pool eventually wrapped things up by saying, “Not only did the Warriors not offered that, but nobody’s offered that. We know the Kaminga market has been pretty shallow at this point.” point and Bonta kind of was going on in between those two quotes saying like he had a hard time believing that Kaminga would turn down even $25 million per year annually if he was offered it at the time like given his situation where he was in and out of the lineup playing you know 15 20 25 minutes a night like it would be ridiculous for a player or his representation to not say dude sign that contract immediately your role is uncertain and you’re getting offered $125 million over the next 5 years you’d be silly not to accept that. But you never know. Like Kaminga, he we know wants to be an all-star level player. So there’s a chance that he could have, you know, rejected some sort of offer in that 25 to30 million a year ballpark before the season started. But who knows at this point regardless of who correct the twisted words like whether Slater was right or there was never any offer made at all. It is no secret and it is an absolute fact that Kaminga’s representation has grossly misjudged his market and they have screwed themselves in the process. not only screwing over their client, but screwing over themselves. Like their pay their payment for whatever Kaminga is going to get on the open market right now or obviously from Golden State in all likelihood he will resign is not going to be what you know was reportedly offered or was in the works of being offered before the season started. So like they have grossly misjudged this market. There aren’t a lot of competitors out there right now throwing money or throwing big-time trade offers to go out and acquire Kaminga. So everybody’s kind of stuck at this point. Both sides are playing hard ball. What do you guys think though? What’s your take? Let me know down in the comments section. Do you think that the Warriors offered Jonathan Kaminga $25 million a year or more? Like $25 to $30 million on a long-term deal. You let me know what you guys think or who you believe down in the comments section. Yes or no. Did the Warriors offer JK that big a bag or not? Look, man, I don’t know what to believe to be quite honest with you. Like I I always take Slater’s word as the Bible, but like he says in the 30-ish per million a year range and then you know the Aaron Turner saying that they weren’t offered $30 million at all. So did was were they was were they offered like $27 million a year? Like how are we getting into semantics here when when he when he’s just you know standing firm that 30 M was never offered this at this point I I feel like they would have offered Kaminga something in the realm of $25 million a year. know how much Joe Leup has invested in and how much he believes in Jonathan Kaminga as a basketball player. So I I don’t doubt that there’s a chance that they offered that type of bag to Kaminga. Maybe not $30 million a year on the dot, but something in that ballpark. And I think that Kaminga would have been silly to reject that at that point. And we know that he’s not going to get that now from Golden State. And we also heard from AI Pool yesterday that conversations are sparse with Golden State and JK. So this really doesn’t look like it’s coming to a resolution anytime soon. We’re getting closer and closer to what I believe is a doomsday scenario for Golden State because we know the rest of their offseason has been held up to this point because of the Jonathan Kaminga saga. So Monty Pool had kind of gone into a little bit further of an explanation when talking about this scenario. And he said this, the Warriors may be, I hate to use the word stuck, but they may be the Warriors coming into this situation may be stuck into training camp if nothing happens. And that might be the worst case scenario right there because that’s not what either side really wants. Like Kamingo wants to get paid, but he also wants to be out there on the basketball court and not be the biggest distraction in the world. And even if they resign him, he’s already going to be some level of a distraction. This is a doomsday scenario. And I think it would be completely unreasonable for this to leak all the way into training camp. Like Kaminga Kaminga’s camp and the Warriors, coincidentally, cannot be that stubborn from both sides. Like have to come to an agreement at some point. It really doesn’t look like there’s going to be a signing trade that comes to fruition. So, at some point, they got to meet in the middle here and come to terms on a deal. We’ll talk about why this is unreasonable and why the Golden State Warriors are kind of stuck with Kaminga scenario in just a moment. But first, I got to show you guys this awesome deal with our friends over at Afanatics. I know the Warriors didn’t win the finals this year, so like this isn’t a crazy uh memorable playoff shirt, but I think it’s still pretty fresh and it’s on sale right now with our friends over at Afanatics. It was like 35 bucks. Now, it’s 18 bucks. You guys can get yours today at this link right here, chatports.com/win4bay. By all accounts, this was a successful season for Golden State after they traded for Jimmy Butler. So, I would want to commemorate it by getting a shirt this fresh. This link right here, chatports.com/win4b. I put that link in the comment section and description of today’s video to make it easy for you guys. Go get yourself some Warriors 2025 playoff merch right now. All right. This is why this doomsday, this would be a doomsday scenario if this leaked all the way into training camp. We showed you guys this graphic on yesterday’s video where the Warriors only have nine players signed at this point, not including the two second round rookies that they drafted, Alex Tui and Will Richard. So, they still have to sign five players before the start of the season, not including Kaminga and well, I guess yeah, not including Kaminga um Tui and Richard. So, so three players after that they are going to have to be come into agreements with and we know that two of them are Al Horford and DeAnthony Melton. Like now it’s not guaranteed that this is going to happen, but we heard from Brett Seagull and people around summer league saying that everybody in the league basically think that thinks that there are verbal agreements uh to be made between Al Horford and the Anthony Melton and Golden State. Al Horford will all likelihood take up the $5.7 million taxpayer mid-level exception. And then DeAnthony Melton will be taking a vet minimum slot as Steve recovers from a torn ACL suffer just 12 games into the season last year beginning with Golden State. Now, the reason that the Warriors haven’t made these deals yet, and the reason that Kaminga is holding them up is that things get really, really complicated when it comes to the aprons and how much Golden State has as far as their spending power goes. Once those deals are made, once they offer and sign Al Horin and the Anthony Melton, without Jonathan Kaminga already factored in, they would be $17 million away from the first apron and $30 million away around from the second apron, which they are not coming close to. uh as far as you know they’re spending this off seasonason. They just don’t want to be in that scenario. So the big dilemma and the reason they have not signed Al Horford or DeAnthony Melton to this point is because using the taxpayer mid-level exception hardcaps Golden State at the first aprons. They would be hardcapped of $17 million of spending power and that’s it. No matter what even even because Jonath Kaminga is a was a member of their team, he’s restricted. He’s tied to them. They can still no matter what not go over $17 million at that point. So that would make any Kaminga offer sheet beyond that legitimately legally unmatchable for Golden State. They physically cannot sign Al Horford and hardcat themselves before resolving the Kaminga stuff. So that’s why the fact that this is taking so long is really damaging for Golden State because you can’t risk those guys finding another home. Like Al Horford has suitors out there in this league. Teams can figure out ways to manipulate money and move things around, free up space to sign a guy like Al Horford. He is definitely sought after in this league by multiple teams. So, Golden State can’t afford for this thing to go all the way into training camp. I don’t think Al Horford wants to wait until all the way into training camp in order to to sign his contract. He’s fine taking his time for now, but I don’t know if that’s going to be the same case in, you know, a month’s time. So, let’s get this thing wrapped up as soon as possible and the Warriors can be on their merry way with whatever they want to do with Kaminga. Try to trade him in season. Now, as far as a trade goes, if you guys are worried about Kaminga signing later on and like 6 months passing and then being past the trade deadline, him not being eligible, all that stuff, I want to, you know, re reassure you guys that that’s not going to be the case. Shout out to my guy GSWCBA perks. We talked about him yesterday. He he made that Warriors cap sheet. Looks really, really cool. Shout out to him. Uh he does great work. Give him a follow on Twitter as well. He said for Kaminga the trade restriction is when he resigns is three months or January 15th whichever comes later. So if it’s you know down the line and he doesn’t sign until September and then then his um his trade eligibility day will be January 15th because three months later it would be December. So January 15th later date in all likelihood it looks like the Warriors will be eligible to trade Jonathan Kamega on January 15th. That’s what it’s looking like at this point. So, it’s not going to be a situation where he signs it in, you know, November and and then the three months is past January 15th. It’s just not going to happen. It’s going to sign it’s going to happen before the season starts, but just how, you know, soon before the season is the real question at this point. And that’s what I’m going to ask you guys right now before we hop out of today’s show. Will the Warriors and Jonathan Kiminga find a resolution before training camp begins? Whether it be a resign or a sign and trade, which is by days, as the days go by, more and more unlikely. Let me know in the comments section. Yes or no. Will we see a contract signed before training camp begins? That will do it for today’s edition of Warriors Today by Chat Sports. I attempted to seduce my boyfriend with a love poem. It ended with him asking if I was quoting Shakespeare or trying to write the next great romance novel. I guess I'll stick to prose🍓

GOODBYE JK FANS!!! 😂😂😂😂 AND SMITTY!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏿
Actually, the Kuminga issue kept us busy this summer. Normally summers are boring.
do us all a favor and either quit your job or limit your words to less than 30m
What will need to happen for us to get BOL BOL ????
I think it was his agent wanted 30 million a year and the Warriors probably only offered 23–25 a year
I think 20 mil is good
Tried of hearing about Kuminga. I believe he is worth @ least 12 million. He is not an all star yet.
Said this over and over, Kuminga was not offered 30 mil let alone $10 mil, they gave him 17mil a year and he could get more elsewhere next year so he de lined. He was going to accept 20mil a year if Kerr treated him Farley but he hasn't so him playing this out wasn't gambling. Teams want to pay him now 25mil but GSW are holding him up.
Who will you believe? Some insider who is talking with maybez or the actual guy who is representing Kuminga?
Yawl fuck over yawl self yawl coulda trade em but yawl asking for too much but you devalue him at the same time how that works warriors front office gotta be better
They never once said this in the past because they are lying now.. of course they asked for 35 per.
Atp I think that JK is being spiteful because he knows what’s at stack for the Dibs if he continues to drag his feet
It was clearly stated that Golden State never made a substantial offer to JK. In fact, did they even intend to, especially after the coach publicly said he couldn’t win with him? That was part of a campaign to low-ball JK and damage his reputation. You simply don’t treat players that way. Even Looney mentioned Golden State’s history of low-balling. People aren’t falling for it anymore.
The coach is still stuck in the past, thinking he has a roster of elite shooters and defenders who can coast to the Finals. Not anymore. This time, they’ll have to fight hard just to make the play-in, because the Western Conference is absolutely stacked.
You post a video every day talking about nothing
If Mostly Booty is making 15 million a year, KumingAss is only worth 12 million a year. Booty is a far better OVERALL player than KumingAss. Booty had WAAAAAAY less playing time than KumingAss, but somehow he developed far better than KumingAss. Keep blaming Kerr. At some point, one has to look at the player and their commitment to improve their OVERALL game.
Bro I hate this click baiting lol I hate this channel sometimes .
JK should end this stalemate.
Y
As usual you are making idiotic bias comments, why don't you get the facts before you start running off at the mouth.
REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL ONE REAL
N
Teams want him for cheap because they know JK wants out and the Warriors don't want him anyways….Shouldve traded JK at deadline…
I would offer Kuminga a contract the Warriors can live with, or a contract that can be easily traded. Obviously, there isnt agreement on Kuminga's side.
GS putting out false reports
GS got losers like this spreading false reports
You will take Grayson Allen and like it
moody was offered at the same time as JK. he extended for 39m over 3 seasons. JT declined and here we are. Anyone recall what his qualifying offer was? Why wouldn't they use that as a starting point, at the least.
No
Bias commentary as usual
Yes
Warriors don't have another Championship to be won again
Just trade the man to Miami already. He'll fit perfect in our system. Steve don't know what to do with him😂😂😂
Never has so much attention been paid to such a losing inconsequential player in NBA history.
