Hornets vs Kings: Kon Knueppel Postgame Media Availability | 7/20/2025
this group and how were you guys able to come away with this championship? Yeah, I mean I think coach Jent uh really instilled the the ideas of uh competitiveness competing at all the time and then being together and so um that’s what we did and every every game we played together um and it had a good outcome for us. Favorite part about playing in Vegas? I mean what was your overall experience? I could I couldn’t hear you. Sorry. Ryan’s okay. Overall experience of just playing in Las Vegas with our team. Yeah, it’s fun. you know, it’s it’s a long time to be here. Uh, we were here we got here two Sundays ago. Um, so we were here for two full weeks. Um, but it was it was a great time. You know, it’s always fun to get out here and play and I hadn’t played and since uh the final four games, so uh it was really good out to get out and compete against high level talent. How do you kind of use this experience here as a building block stepping stone for you guys heading into the season? I mean, I think, you know, it’s a lot of guys that are going to be on the roster and we’re always, you know, you always compete to win. Um, so I think building winning habits, even if it is summer league, um, is very beneficial. Yeah. I mean, first game was rough. Um, didn’t play well. Um, but I think, you know, it’s it’s the NBA now. Like, you have so many games and I think just the all right, next game, forget about what happened last game. Like even tonight, I didn’t I didn’t play very well. I didn’t shoot a grade at all really. They had some bad turnovers, bad defensive plays. Just next play. Next play. Let’s go. You You said you had to fight some people to get you on the court tonight. What What was your pitch to those people to like let you play? I mean, they just wanted me to know the risk involved. Um and I thought it was pretty marginal for just I got a couple of stitches, it was a cut. Um so, you know, um that’s not going to hold me back from playing the championship game. I got you. And then I want to ask about DJ Rob quick. He made some big plays for you guys. Yeah, he did. He was he was great. What do you see from him as a player? Like some of these guys like fighting for NBA contracts, like what does he bring to a team? What did he do for you guys tonight? Yeah, I mean he obviously he shot really well this week. Um but it was more importantly the I think he took three charges. Not tonight, but he took maybe two tonight. At least one one one tonight. Um but he took like three four charges all week. He did a he did a real good job for us defensively and then just coming up with scrappy plays, getting getting the loose balls. What’s the messaging you’ve been receiving from Charles and the coaching staff? Um, you know, obviously Charles Charles came back tonight to watch us, which is pretty cool. Um, but you know, there’s they’re watching for the right basketball plays, making the right reads. You know, it’s not necessarily about statistics or anything, but making the right plays both both sides of the floor, being in being in good positioning. Um, those are the things that are important. After you hit that big three, everyone on Twitter get used to wearing that headband. Yeah, I’m never wearing that headband again. I mean, I didn’t I really didn’t think I shot it very well. Uh, and I maybe the headband was I can attribute some of that, too. Uh, how excited are you just for the future of this franchise given, you know, the potential a lot of you guys showed this year and what’s kind of coming up tomorrow as well? Yeah, I mean, I’m just I’m really excited to be a part of the team. You know, I, you know, I just got here. Um, I can’t wait to get to training camp and, you know, a little mini camps here in in August. It’ll be a lot of fun. You know, get get with the with the the real guys. Um, and I I just can’t wait.

Best offseason for a team in the league
Such a smart kid man, he may not have the ceiling that some guys have in the top 6 but he’s still gonna be a player who impacts winning and will fit any team like a glove.
This guy is a natural competitor with the drive to be a winner and the classy talent to make it happen.
Far more mature than Ball…..
Knueppel well deserved the summer league MVP. He shown grit, determination hustle thoughout the games. He will go far in his nba career if he continues to have the same attitude.
I don't get the part where rookies are compared and judging their potential ceiling based on draft numbers.
Larry bird was drafted 6th, Michael Jordan was drafted 3rd, kobe Bryant was drafted 13th, Curry 7th, jokic 41st. Those number doesn't dictate how far or how good you will be. It's all down to sheer hardwork and endless hours of training/ practice to be MVP and HOFs..
🍻🍻🍻🍻
Thank you Rick and Gabe 😊
