So, could the Utah Jazz be trading away Walker Kesler to the Washington Wizards this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Utah Jazz receiving Blake Wesley, a 2027 first round pick and a 2029 first round draft pick that is either the Celtics, the Bucks, or the Trailblazers. and the Washington Wizards receiving Walker Kesler. So, this trade’s intriguing because it scares me a little bit the just the fact that Washington would be giving up draft capital. Like, I understand that Washington made some pretty good moves this off seasonason. like they have actually had a pretty good offseason in my opinion. But if they’re going to be getting rid of draft capital just two and four years away, just sort of how this roster is constructed and with just them having a lot of unknown in the future, I’m not too comfortable with me saying that I would do this if I was the uh Utah Jazz’s front or if I was the Wizards front office, I would probably hold on to the draft pick, especially in 2027. Maybe if you believe in this roster and this core long term, the the 2029 first round draft traffic, especially that, you know, the fact that it’s not yours, I’d be more comfortable giving giving that away personally, but I understand them wanting to get better and go for a playoff spot next year with sort of how I’d open the Eastern Conference is with injuries to star players like Tatum and Hallebertton. Maybe the Wizards sneak into like a playin game and take another strat as a franchise and then get better that in that direction. So, I understand them wanting to get Walker Kesler, like a good young center. He can be the center of your future. He’s a good two-way player. Doesn’t really stretch the floor offensively speaking, but a good below the basket player, a good presence around the rim defensively speaking. If that’s what you want for the foreseeable future, by all means, find your guy, trade for your guy, make it happen. Believe in your scouting department. But just truthfully, I think I’m a little bit too scared, in my opinion, to get rid of that 2027 first round draft pick. uh which is sort of how this roster is currently constructed. So if you’re the Utah Jazz and you’re able to flip Walker Kesler, who’s been a pretty good addition since being traded over from Rudy Gobear in that Rudy Goar trade to Blake Wesley and two future firstround draft picks sign me up all day. I would take my chances with this Wizards roster. So intriguing trade. If I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with the Utah Jazz by a tiny little bit. Walker Kesler, of course, is a tremendous player and maybe this team gets better. I guess only time will tell. As always though, leave your thoughts.
